The ternary Fe (III)-OH(-)-SO4(2-) complexes have been investigated at 25 degrees C in 3 M NaClO4 by potentiometric titration with glass electrode. The metal and sulfate concentrations ranged from 2.5 x 10(-3) to 0.03 M and from 5.10(-3) to 0.060 M, respectively. [H+] was decreased from 0.05 M to incipient precipitation of basic sulfate which occured at log[H+] between -2.3 and -2.5 depending on the concentration of the metal. For the interpretation of the data stability constants of HSO4(-), of binary hydroxo complexes (FeOH2+, Fe(OH)2+, Fe2(OH)2(4+), Fe3(OH)4(5+), Fe3(OH)5(4+)) and of sulfate complexes (FeSO4+, FeHSO4(2+), Fe(SO4)2-) were assumed from independent sources. The data are consistent with the presence of FeOHSO4, log beta 1-11 = -0.49 +/- 0.03. Equilibrium constants are defined as beta pqr for pFe3+ +qH+ +rSO4(2-) [symbol: see text] FepHq(SO4)r3p+q-2r. No substantial better fit could be found by adding a second mixed complex. Only a slightly smaller agreement factor resulted introducing as minor ternary complex Fe3(OH)6(SO4)3(3-) with log beta 3-63 = -5.8 +/- 0.5. The synthesis and characterization of Co(II) and Co(III) 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylate (dipic(2-)) complexes are reported. Solid-state X-ray characterizations were performed on [Co(H(2)dipic)(dipic)].3H(2)O and [Co(dipic)(mu-dipic)Co(H(2)O)(5)].2H(2)O. Two coordination modes not previously observed in dipicolinate transition metal complexes were observed in these complexes; one involves metal coordination to the short C-O (C=O) bond, and the other involves metal coordination to a protonated oxygen atom. Solution studies, including paramagnetic NMR and UV-vis spectroscopy, were done showing the high stability and low lability of the Co(III) complex, whereas the Co(II) complexes exhibited ligand exchange in the presence of excess ligand. The [Co(dipic)(2)](2-) complex has pH dependent lability and in this regard is most similar to the [VO(2)dipic](-) complex. The [Co(dipic)(2)](2-) was found to be effective in reducing the hyperlipidemia of diabetes using oral administration in drinking water in rats with STZ-induced diabetes. Oral administration of VOSO(4) was used as a positive control for metal efficacy against diabetes. In addition to providing a framework to evaluate structure-function relationships of various transition metal complexes in alleviating the symptoms of diabetes, this work describes novel aspects of structural and solution cobalt chemistry. 相似文献

The manganese(I) tricarbonyl complexes (Bm(R))Mn(CO)3(R = Me, Bz, But, p-Tol) and (PhBmMe)Mn(CO)3, the first bis(mercaptoimidazolyl)borate derivatives for this metal, have been readily prepared and fully characterized. In particular, the presence of three-center-two-electron Mn...H-B interactions in these species, both in solution and in the solid state, has been investigated using a combination of IR and NMR spectroscopies and, in the case of the methyl-, tert-butyl- and para-tolyl-substituted derivatives, by X-ray crystallography. To complement these synthetic and structural studies, the tris(mercaptoimidazolyl)borate complexes (TmMe)Mn(CO)3(R = Me, Bz, But, p-Tol) and (PhTm(Me))Mn(CO)3, as well as the related pyrazolylbis(mercaptoimidazolyl)borate (pzBmMe)Mn(CO)3, have also been synthesized and characterized by a combination of analytical and spectroscopic techniques. 相似文献

Iron(III) complexes of D-saccharose and D-glucose were prepared. The compositions of the complexes were determined by standard analytical methods. The Mössbauer spectra reflected the presence of high-spin iron(III) in the polynuclear species. EPR spectroscopy demonstrated antiferromagnetically coupled iron(III) centers within the solid complexes. The13C NMR spectra indicated the presence of a mixture of coordination isomers of iron(III) complexes containing the sugar ligand in differently bound forms.This work is dedicated to the memory of Dr. L. The preparation of the [NBu4][Pt(C6F5)3L] complexes (L=triazene, formamidine, 2-aminopyridine,) have been carried out. These ligands contain a hydrogen atom, with more or less acidic character, in a position suitable for establishing an intramolecular hydrogen bonding interaction with the metal center. This interaction has been detected in solution for; its 1H NMR spectrum shows that the resonance assignable to this hydrogen has platinum satellites. For, this coupling is not observed, and the interaction, if it exists, has to be weaker because of the less acidic character of the hydrogen atom. The 2-aminopyridine ligand is more flexible than the triazene or formamidine, and also in this case, no evidence of the interaction in solution is obtained. Nevertheless, if another potential proton acceptor is present, such as ClO4- in [NBu4]2[Pt(C6F5)3(C5H6N2)](ClO4), a conventional N-H...O-Cl hydrogen bond is formed. The formation of intramolecular CH...X(N,O) bonds and their persistence in solution were studied by X-ray crystallography and NMR techniques in two different rotamers of a molecule containing the ortho-carborane cage, an amide group and a quinoline ring. Experimental data were confirmed by theoretical ab initio calculations. From the resolved structure of the two forms of this potentially active drug for boron neutron capture therapy, accurate bonding and geometric parameters were extracted for this non-classic hydrogen interaction, and their strength was calculated. These findings provided new insight in the theory of CH...X bonds, which appear stronger and less rare than it was previously thought. 相似文献

In this work, we report the results about the solution and solid-state phosphorescence emission properties of six Ru(II) complexes containing various 5-substituted tetrazolate ligands. The photo- and electrochemiluminescence spectra of all compounds revealed a red shifted emission with respect to the Ru(bpy)(3)(2+). Significant changes to the light emission energy and to the efficiency and sensitivity to oxygen were also determined by varying the nature of the substituent ring of the tetrazolate ligand. Light-emitting solid devices with active layers containing solid films of the same complexes were prepared, and preliminary studies of their electroinduced emission properties were performed. The electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emission intensity of two of the six complexes was of the same order of magnitude as the reference Ru(bpy)(3)(2+). 相似文献

9-BBN hydroborate complexes Ti{(mu-H)2BC8H14}3(THF)2 (1), Ti{(mu-H)2BC8H14}3(OEt2) (2), and [K(OEt2)4]-[Ti{(mu-H)2BC8H14}4] (4) were formed from the reaction of TiCl4 with K[H2BC8H14] in diethyl ether or THF. Ti{(mu-H)2BC8H14}3(PhNH2) (3) was isolated from the reaction of 2 with aniline in diethyl ether. In the formation of these complexes, Ti(IV) is reduced to Ti(III). The coordinated diethyl ether in 2 can be displaced by the stronger bases THF and aniline, to form 1 and 3, respectively. All of the compounds were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. In complex 1, which contains two coordinated THF ligands, the titanium possesses a 17 electron configuration and there is no evidence for agostic interaction. Complexes 2 and 3 contain only one coordinated ether or aniline ligand, and the titanium possesses a 15 electron configuration. In these compounds, a C-H hydrogen on an alpha carbon on the BC8H14 unit of a 9-BBN hydroborate ligand forms an agostic interaction with the titanium. Criteria for assessing the existence of agostic interactions are discussed. As the potassium salt, the anion of complex 4 is more stable than the complexes 1-3. Organometallic anions of the type [ML4]- for titanium(III) are rare. 相似文献

The reactivity of the (o-phosphinophenyl)(amino)borane compound HB(N(i)Pr(2))C(6)H(4)(o-PPh(2)) prepared from Li(C(6)H(4))PPh(2) and HBCl(N(i)Pr(2)) toward the bis(dihydrogen) complex RuH(2)(H(2))(2)(PCy(3))(2) (1) was studied by a combination of DFT, X-ray, and multinuclear NMR techniques including solid-state NMR, a technique rarely employed in organometallic chemistry. The study showed that the complex RuH(2){HB(N(i)Pr(2))C(6)H(4)(o-PPh(2))}(PCy(3))(2) (3), isolated in excellent yield as yellow crystals and characterized by X-ray diffraction, led in solution to PCy(3) dissociation and formation of an unsaturated 16-electron complex RuH(2){HB(N(i)Pr(2))C(6)H(4)(o-PPh(2))}(PCy(3)) (4), with a hydride trans to a vacant site. In both cases, the (phosphinoaryl)(amino)borane acts as a bifunctional ligand through the phosphine moiety and a Ru-H-B interaction, thus featuring an agostic interaction. 相似文献

The results of a detailed solid state and solution structural study of the Fe(III) bis-mida complex [Fe(III)(mida)(2)]- (mida = N-methyl-iminodiacetate) are reported. The structure of the sodium salt Na[Fe(mida)2][NaClO4]2.3H2O (1) was determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis. The complex anion in 1 contains a six-coordinate Fe(III) centre bound to two tridentate mida ligands arranged in the meridional configuration, and the mer Fe(III)N2O4 chromophore shows a high degree of distortion from regular octahedral symmetry. Raman- and UV/VIS/NIR spectroscopic measurements showed that no gross changes take place in the Fe(III) coordination sphere upon redissolution in water. Quantum chemical calculations of all three possible configurations of the [Fe(mida)2]- complex ion in the gas phase support the finding that the mer isomer is more stable than the u-fac (cis) and s-fac (trans) isomers. Redox potential measurements of the Fe(III/II)(mida) couple in dependence of pH led to the following values for the equilibrium contants: log beta(III)(101) = 11.98 +/- 0.05, log beta(III)(102) = 20.49 +/- 0.01, pK(III)(a1 OH) = 7.81; log beta(II)(101) = 6.17 +/- 0.01, log beta(II)(102) = 11.39 +/- 0.01. 相似文献

The assembly of silver(I) and gold(I) complexes of functionalized N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) of the type [M(C(n),amide-imy)(2)][anion] were studied, in which C(n),amide-imy stands for an NHC of imidazol-2-ylidene having one N-alkyl substituent (C(n)H(2n+1)) and one N-acetamido substituent, while the anions are Br(-), NO(3)(-), BF(4)(-) or PF(6)(-). A single crystal X-ray diffraction study reveals that self-assembly of [Ag(C(10),amide-imy)(2)][PF(6)] through Coulombic, hydrogen bonding, and hydrophobic interactions gives a lamellar structure with tubular architecture around the metal ion head core. Self-assembly of these functionalized NHC complexes also leads to the formation of the first example of thermotropic liquid crystals of silver(I)-NHCs and gels of gold(I)-NHC. Results from an infrared spectroscopy study show that the degree of chain motion in the gel state is smaller than that in the mesophase, yet comparable to that in the solid state. In addition, the technique of nuclear magnetic resonance diffusion ordered spectroscopy was found for the first time to be a good tool to study the phase transition of gels. Xerogels of gold(I)-NHCs display fibers, oriental lantern-shaped bundles of belts and helical fibers when observed under scanning electron and transmission electron microscopes. 相似文献

Structures of bromo-metal complexes in concentrated aqueous solutions of FeBr2 and of CoBr2 were investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis. The complexes possess an octahedral geometry coordinating Br– along with H2O ligands. The frequency factors of metal-Br contacts per one atom of metal were 0.325 for the 2.7M (mol-dm–3) and 0.747 for the 4.5M FeBr2 solutions, and 0.280 for the 2.8M and 0.595 for the 4.3M CoBr2 solutions.
