In this paper,the Schur convexity of Fn(x, r) and Gn(x, r) are discussed. As applications, by a bijective transformation of independent variable for a Schur convex function, the authors obtain Schur convexity for some other symmetric functions, which subsumes the main results in recent literature; and by use of the theory of majorization establish some inequalities. In particular, the authors derive from the results of this paper the Weierstrass inequalities and the Ky Fan's inequality, and give a generalization of Safta's conjecture in the n-dimensional space and others.  相似文献

In this paper, We study a general class of nonlinear degenerated elliptic problems associated with the differential inclusion β(u)-div(a(x, Du)+ F(u)) ■ f in Ω, where f ∈ L1 Ω. A vector field a(·,·) is a Carath′eodory function. Using truncation techniques and the generalized monotonicity method in the functional spaces we prove the existence of renormalized solutions for general L1-data. Under an additional strict monotonicity assumption uniqueness of the renormalized solution is established.  相似文献

For the linear finite element solution to the Poisson equation, we show that supercon- vergence exists for a type of graded meshes for corner singularities in polygonal domains. In particular, we prove that the L^2-projection from the piecewise constant field △↓UN to the continuous and piecewise linear finite element space gives a better approximation of △↓U in the Hi-norm. In contrast to the existing superconvergence results, we do not assume high regularity of the exact solution.  相似文献

A convexity on a set X is a family of subsets of X which contains the whole space and the empty set as well as the singletons and which is closed under arbitrary intersections and updirected unions. A uniform convex space is a uniform topological space endowed with a convexity for which the convex hull operator is uniformly continuous. Uniform convex spaces with homotopically trivial polytopes (convex hulls of finite sets) are absolute extensors for the class of metric spaces; if they are completely metrizable then a continuous selection theorem à la Michael holds. We introduce a new scale of grand variable exponent Lebesgue spaces denoted by . These spaces unify two non‐standard classes of function spaces, namely, grand Lebesgue and variable exponent Lebesgue spaces. The boundedness of integral operators of Harmonic Analysis such as maximal, potential, Calderón–Zygmund operators and their commutators are established in these spaces. Among others, we prove Sobolev‐type theorems for fractional integrals in . The spaces and operators are defined, generally speaking, on quasi‐metric measure spaces with doubling measure. In this article, we study the effect of the geometry of a domain with variable local dimension on the regularity/singularity of the restriction of a multifractional random field on such a domain. The theories of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces (RKHS) and generalized random fields are applied. Fractional Sobolev spaces of variable order are considered as RKHSs of random fields satisfying certain elliptic multifractional pseudodifferential equations. The multifractal spectra of these random fields are trivial due to the regularity assumptions on the variable order of the fractional derivatives. In this article, we introduce a family of RKHSs defined by isomorphic identification with the trace on a compact heterogeneous fractal domain of a fractional Sobolev space of variable order. The local regularity/singularity order of functions in these spaces, which depends on the variable order of the fractional Sobolev space considered and on the local dimension of the domain, is derived. We also study the spectral properties of the family of models introduced in the mean-square sense. In the Gaussian case, random fields with sample paths having multifractional local Hölder exponent are covered in this framework.  相似文献

We introduce a new class of operators that extend both generalized Laplace operators and generalized mean curvature operators. We start the discussion on general anisotropic systems with variable exponents that involve our operators, then we focus on a specific example of such system, we show that it admits a unique weak solution and we complete our work with some comments on other related systems. The newly introduced operators are appropriate for the study conducted in the anisotropic spaces with variable exponents, but at the end of the paper we also provide their versions corresponding to the studies conducted in the anisotropic Sobolev spaces with constant exponents, or in the isotropic variable exponent Sobolev spaces, since, to the best of our knowledge, they represent a novelty even for the classical Sobolev spaces.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove existence and regularity results for weak solutions in the framework of anisotropic Sobolev spaces for a class of nonlinear anisotropic elliptic equations in the whole with variable exponents and locally integrable data. Our approach is based on the anisotropic Sobolev inequality, a smoothness, and compactness results. The functional setting involves Lebesgue–Sobolev spaces with variable exponents. In this paper we study the Sobolev embedding theorem for variable exponent spaces with critical exponents. We find conditions on the best constant in order to guaranty the existence of extremals. The proof is based on a suitable refinement of the estimates in the Concentration–Compactness Theorem for variable exponents and an adaptation of a convexity argument due to P.L. Lions, F. In this paper, we are concerned with uniform superconvergence of Galerkin methods for singularly perturbed reaction-diffusion problems by using two Shishkin-type meshes. Based on an estimate of the error between spline interpolation of the exact solution and its numerical approximation, an interpolation post-processing technique is applied to the original numerical solution. This results in approximation exhibit superconvergence which is uniform in the weighted energy norm. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the interpolation post-processing technique and to verify the theoretical results obtained in this paper.  相似文献

An anisotropic nonconforming finite element method is presented for a class of nonlinear Sobolev equations. The optimal error estimates and supercloseness are obtained for both semi-discrete and fully-discrete approximate schemes, which are the same as the traditional finite element methods. In addition, the global superconvergence is derived through the postprocessing technique. Numerical experiments are included to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the local discontinuous Galerkin method (LDG) for solving singularly perturbed convection-diffusion problems in one- and two-dimensional settings. The existence and uniqueness of the LDG solutions are verified. Numerical experiments demonstrate that it seems impossible to obtain uniform superconvergence for numerical fluxes under uniform meshes. Thanks to the implementation of two-type different anisotropic meshes, i.e., the Shishkin and an improved grade meshes, the uniform 2p + i-order superconvergence is observed numerically for both one-dimensional and twodimensional cases.  相似文献

We study the approximation of the integration of multivariate functions in the quantum model of computation. Using a new reduction approach we obtain a lower bound of the n-th minimal query error on anisotropic Sobolev class R(Wpr([0, 1]d)) (r R+d). Then combining this result with our previous one we determine the optimal bound of n-th minimal query error for anisotropic Hblder- Nikolskii class R(H∞r([0,1]d)) and Sobolev class R(W∞r([0,1]d)). The results show that for these two types of classes the quantum algorithms give significant speed up over classical deterministic and randomized algorithms.  相似文献

In the present paper the edge stabilization technique is applied to a convection-diffusion problem with exponential boundary layers on the unit square, using a Shishkin mesh with bilinear finite elements in the layer regions and linear elements on the coarse part of the mesh. An error bound is proved for ‖πu-u^h‖Е, where πu is some interpolant of the solution u and uh the discrete solution. This supercloseness result implies an optimal error estimate with respect to the L2 norm and opens the door to the application of postprocessing for improving the discrete solution.  相似文献
