We consider the quad curl problem in smooth and non smooth domains of the space. We first give an augmented variational formulation equivalent to the one from [25] if the datum is divergence free. We describe the singularities of the variational space which correspond to the ones of the Maxwell system with perfectly conducting boundary conditions. The edge and corner singularities of the solution of the corresponding boundary value problem with smooth data are also characterized. We finally obtain some regularity results of the variational solution.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the two-dimensional Muskat problem with surface tension on a free boundary. The initial shape of the unknown interface has a corner point. We prove that the problem has a unique solution in the weighted Hölder classes locally in time and specify the sufficient conditions for the existence of the “waiting time” phenomenon.  相似文献

A class of Robin boundary value problem for reaction diffusion equation is considered. Under suitable conditions, using the theory of differential inequalities the existence and asymptotic behavior of the corner layer solution to the initial boundary value problem are studied.  相似文献

We consider an initial boundary value problem for the system of the Maxwell equations in a bounded domain with smooth boundary on a finite time interval with new boundary conditions with memory. In appropriate function spaces, we define and study the nonselfadjoint operator that is generated by the Maxwell operator under a boundary condition with memory. Using the operator method, we prove an existence and uniqueness theorem for a solution to the initial boundary value problem.  相似文献

In this paper, we are concerned with the existence and uniqueness of global smooth solution for the Robin boundary value problem of Landau-Lifshitz equations in one dimension when the boundary value depends on time t. Furthermore, by viscosity vanishing approach, we get the existence and uniqueness of the problem without Gilbert damping term when the boundary value is independent of t.  相似文献

We consider the Tricomi problem for the Lavrent’ev-Bitsadze equation for the case in which the elliptic part of the boundary is part of a circle. For the homogeneous equation, we introduce a new class of solutions that are not continuous at the corner points of the domain and construct nontrivial solutions in this class in closed form. For the inhomogeneous equation, we introduce the notion of an n-regular solution and prove a criterion for the existence of such a solution.  相似文献

A mixed boundary value problem for a singularly perturbed elliptic convection-diffusion equation with constant coefficients in a square domain is considered. Dirichlet conditions are specified on two sides orthogonal to the flow, and Neumann conditions are set on the other two sides. The right-hand side and the boundary functions are assumed to be sufficiently smooth, which ensures the required smoothness of the desired solution in the domain, except for neighborhoods of the corner points. Only zero-order compatibility conditions are assumed to hold at the corner points. The problem is solved numerically by applying an inhomogeneous monotone difference scheme on a rectangular piecewise uniform Shishkin mesh. The inhomogeneity of the scheme lies in that the approximating difference equations are not identical at different grid nodes but depend on the perturbation parameter. Under the assumptions made, the numerical solution is proved to converge ?-uniformly to the exact solution in a discrete uniform metric at an O(N ?3/2ln2 N) rate, where N is the number of grid nodes in each coordinate direction.  相似文献

The Keldysh equation is a more general form of the classic Tricomi equation from fluid dynamics. Its well-posedness and the regularity of its solution are interesting and important. The Keldysh equation is elliptic in y>0 and is degenerate at the line y=0 in R2. Adding a special nonlinear absorption term, we study a nonlinear degenerate elliptic equation with mixed boundary conditions in a piecewise smooth domain—similar to the potential fluid shock reflection problem. By means of an elliptic regularization technique, a delicate a priori estimate and compact argument, we show that the solution of a mixed boundary value problem of the Keldysh equation is smooth in the interior and Lipschitz continuous up to the degenerate boundary under some conditions. We believe that this kind of regularity result for the solution will be rather useful.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the Riemann problem of the two-dimensional (2D) pseudo-steady supersonic flow with Van der Waals gas around a sharp corner expanding into vacuum. The essence of this problem is the interaction of the centered simple wave with the planar rarefaction wave, which can be solved by a Goursat problem or a mixed characteristic boundary value and slip boundary value problem for the 2D self-similar Euler equations. We establish the hyperbolicity and a priori C1 estimates of the solution through the methods of characteristic decompositions and invariant regions. Moreover, we construct the pentagon invariant region in order to obtain the global solution. In addition, based on the generality of the Van der Waals gas, we construct the subinvariant regions and get the hyperbolicity of the solution according to the continuity of the subinvariant region. At last, the global existence of solution to the gas expansion problem is obtained constructively.  相似文献

The one-dimensional Willmore equation is studied under Navier as well as under Dirichlet boundary conditions. We are interested in smooth graph solutions, since for suitable boundary data, we expect the stable solutions to be among these. In the first part, classical symmetric solutions for symmetric boundary data are studied and closed expressions are deduced. In the Navier case, one has existence of precisely two solutions for boundary data below a suitable threshold, precisely one solution on the threshold and no solution beyond the threshold. This effect reflects that we have a bending point in the corresponding bifurcation diagram and is not due to that we restrict ourselves to graphs. Under Dirichlet boundary conditions we always have existence of precisely one symmetric solution. In the second part, we consider boundary value problems with nonsymmetric data. Solutions are constructed by rotating and rescaling suitable parts of the graph of an explicit symmetric solution. One basic observation for the symmetric case can already be found in Euler’s work. It is one goal of the present paper to make Euler’s observation more accessible and to develop it under the point of view of boundary value problems. Moreover, general existence results are proved.  相似文献

In this paper we provide sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions to multipoint boundary value problems for nonlinear ordinary differential equations. We consider the case where the solution space of the associated linear homogeneous boundary value problem is less than 2. When this solution space is trivial, we establish existence results via the Schauder Fixed Point Theorem. In the resonance case, we use a projection scheme to provide criteria for the solvability of our nonlinear boundary value problem. We accomplish this by analyzing a link between the behavior of the nonlinearity and the solution set of the associated linear homogeneous boundary value problem.  相似文献

The Busemann-equation is a classical equation coming from fluid dynamics. The well-posed problem and regularity of solution of Busemann-equation with nonlinear term are interesting and important. The Busemann-equation is elliptic in y>0 and is degenerate at the line y=0 in R2. With a special nonlinear absorb term, we study a nonlinear degenerate elliptic equation with mixed boundary conditions in a piecewise smooth domain. By means of elliptic regularization technique, a delicate prior estimate and compact argument, we show that the solution of mixed boundary value problem of Busemann-equation is smooth in the interior and Lipschitz continuous up to the degenerate boundary on some conditions. The result is better than the result of classical boundary degenerate elliptic equation.  相似文献

In this Note, we consider an interface problem posed in a bounded domain with thin layer. In the case of a smooth domain, approximate boundary conditions (also called impedance conditions) are known to approximate in a precise way the effect of the layer, as its thickness goes to zero. We investigate here the efficiency of such conditions when the domain has a corner; we show that it deteriorates when the opening of the corner angle grows, giving optimal estimates thanks to multiscale asymptotic expansions. Numerical results are given, which illustrate these estimates. To cite this article: G. Vial, C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 340 (2005).  相似文献

We study a boundary contact problem for a micropolar homogeneous elastic hemitropic medium with regard of friction; in the considered case, friction forces do not arise in the tangential displacement but correspond to a normal displacement of the medium. We consider two cases: the coercive case (in which the elastic body has a fixed part of the boundary) and the noncoercive case (without fixed parts). By using the Steklov–Poincaré operator, we reduce this problem to an equivalent boundary variational inequality. Existence and uniqueness theorems are proved for the weak solution on the basis of properties of general variational inequalities. In the coercive case, the problem is unconditionally solvable, and the solution depends continuously on the data of the original problem. In the noncoercive case, we present closed-form necessary conditions for the existence of a solution of the contact problem. Under additional assumptions, these conditions are also sufficient for the existence of a solution.  相似文献

The initial boundary value problem for a nonlinear singularly perturbed integro-parabolic equation is examined. An asymptotic expansion of the solution to this problem containing the temporal, spatial and corner boundary layers is constructed. The existence and local uniqueness of the solution is justified by using the asymptotic method of differential inequalities.  相似文献

We consider an evolution which starts as a flow of smooth surfaces in nonparametric form propagating in space with normal speed equal to the mean curvature of the current surface. The boundaries of the surfaces are assumed to remain fixed. G. Huisken has shown that if the boundary of the domain over which this flow is considered satisfies the “mean curvature” condition of H. Jenkins and J. Serrin (that is, the boundary of the domain is convex “in the mean”) then the corresponding initial boundary value problem with Dirichlet boundary data and smooth initial data admits a smooth solution for all time. In this paper we consider the case of arbitrary domains with smooth boundaries not necessarily satisfying the condition of Jenkins-Serrin. In this case, even if the flow starts with smooth initial data and homogeneous Dirichlet boundary data, singularities may develop in finite time at the boundary of the domain and the solution will not satisfy the boundary condition. We prove, however, existence of solutions that are smooth inside the domain for all time and become smooth up to the boundary after elapsing of a sufficiently long period of time. From that moment on such solutions assume the boundary values in the classical sense. We also give sufficient conditions that guarantee the existence of classical solutions for all time t ≧ 0. In addition, we establish estimates of the rate at which solutions tend to zero as t → ∞.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of the periodic initial boundary value problem and Cauchy problem for the coupled KdV equations. By the Galerkin method and sequential approximation, we get a seies of priori estimates and establish the existence of classical local solution to the periodic problem for the system. Then we obtain the existence and uniqueness of global smooth solution when the coefficients of the system satisfy certain conditions by energy menthod, conserved quantities and nonconservative quatity I(u,v).  相似文献

We study the free boundary problem for the flow of a compressible isentropic inviscid elastic fluid. At the free boundary moving with the velocity of the fluid particles the columns of the deformation gradient are tangent to the boundary and the pressure vanishes outside the flow domain. We prove the local-in-time existence of a unique smooth solution of the free boundary problem provided that among three columns of the deformation gradient there are two which are non-collinear vectors at each point of the initial free boundary. If this non-collinearity condition fails, the local-in-time existence is proved under the classical Rayleigh–Taylor sign condition satisfied at the first moment. By constructing an Hadamard-type ill-posedness example for the frozen coefficients linearized problem we show that the simultaneous failure of the non-collinearity condition and the Rayleigh–Taylor sign condition leads to Rayleigh–Taylor instability.  相似文献

In this paper we focus on the initial-boundary value problem of the 2-D isentropic Euler equations with damping. We prove the global-in-time existence of classical solution to the initial-boundary value problem for small smooth initial data by the method of local existence of solution combined with a priori energy estimates, where the appropriate boundary condition plays an important role.  相似文献
