To any cleft Hopf Galois object, i.e., any algebra obtained from a Hopf algebra H by twisting its multiplication with a two-cocycle α, we attach two “universal algebras” and . The algebra is obtained by twisting the multiplication of H with the most general two-cocycle σ formally cohomologous to α. The cocycle σ takes values in the field of rational functions on H. By construction, is a cleft H-Galois extension of a “big” commutative algebra . Any “form” of can be obtained from by a specialization of and vice versa. If the algebra is simple, then is an Azumaya algebra with center . The algebra is constructed using a general theory of polynomial identities that we set up for arbitrary comodule algebras; it is the universal comodule algebra in which all comodule algebra identities of are satisfied. We construct an embedding of into ; this embedding maps the center of into when the algebra is simple. In this case, under an additional assumption, , thus turning into a central localization of . We completely work out these constructions in the case of the four-dimensional Sweedler algebra.  相似文献

Let be a small category. For an -diagram X and -diagrams A and B of pointed spaces, each pairing XAB satisfying the projection formula induces a pairing . In this note we show that there is an induced pairing of homotopy spectral sequences compatible with abutments in the sense that

Let G be a group, the supremum of the projective lengths of the injective ZG-modules and the supremum of the injective lengths of the projective ZG-modules. The invariants and were studied in [T.V. Let X be a homotopy associative mod p H-space for p an odd prime. The homology H*(X;Fp) is an associative ring, but not necessarily commutative. We study conditions when for elements of H*(X;Fp). Under certain conditions imply for l=p−2 or p−1. These methods can be used to prove results about homology commutators that were previously obtained using the adjoint action [H. Hamanaka, S. Hara, A. Kono, Adjoint action of Lie groups on the loop spaces and cohomology of exceptional Lie groups, Transform. Group Theory (1996) 44-50, Korea Adv. Inst. Sci. Tech.; A. Kono, K. Kozima, The adjoint action of a Lie group on the space of loops, J. Math. Soc. Japan 45 (3) (1993) 495-509; A. Kono, J. Lin, O. Nishimura, Characterization of the mod 3 cohomology of E7, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 131 (10) (2003) 3289-3295]. We also generalize results of Kane [R. Kane, Torsion in homotopy associative H-spaces, Illinois J. Math. 20 (1976) 476-485] to nonfinite mod p homotopy associative H-spaces.  相似文献

A relative presentation is a triple where A is a group, X is a set, and R is a set of words in the free product A∗F(X) where F(X) is the free group with basis X. Under certain hypotheses on the relative presentation , we show that (1) the group presented by is locally indicable; (2) the pre-aspherical model for is aspherical; (3) the Freiheitssatz holds for . The result has applications in the computation of cohomology of groups and the field of equations over groups.  相似文献

For any étale Lie groupoid G over a smooth manifold M, the groupoid convolution algebra of smooth functions with compact support on G has a natural coalgebra structure over the commutative algebra which makes it into a Hopf algebroid. Conversely, for any Hopf algebroid A over we construct the associated spectral étale Lie groupoid over M such that is naturally isomorphic to G. Both these constructions are functorial, and is fully faithful left adjoint to . We give explicit conditions under which a Hopf algebroid is isomorphic to the Hopf algebroid of an étale Lie groupoid G.  相似文献

One of the open questions that has emerged in the study of the projective Schur group of a field F is whether or not is an algebraic relative Brauer group over F, i.e. does there exist an algebraic extension L/F such that ? We show that the same question for the Schur group of a number field has a negative answer. For the projective Schur group, no counterexample is known. In this paper we prove that is an algebraic relative Brauer group for all Henselian valued fields F of equal characteristic whose residue field is a local or global field. For this, we first show how is determined by for an equicharacteristic Henselian field with arbitrary residue field k.  相似文献

Let ξ be a smooth vector bundle over a differentiable manifold M. Let be a generic bundle morphism from the trivial bundle of rank ni+1 to ξ. We give a geometric construction of the Stiefel-Whitney classes when ξ is a real vector bundle, and of the Chern classes when ξ is a complex vector bundle. Using h we define a differentiable closed manifold and a map whose image is the singular set of h. The ith characteristic class of ξ is the Poincaré dual of the image, under the homomorphism induced in homology by ?, of the fundamental class of the manifold . We extend this definition for vector bundles over a paracompact space, using that the universal bundle is filtered by smooth vector bundles.  相似文献

The main result of this paper is the following theorem, related to the missing link in the proof of the topological version of the classical result of Helly: Let be any family of simply connected compact subsets of R2 such that for every i,j∈{0,1,2} the intersections XiXj are path connected and is nonempty. Then for every two points in the intersection there exists a cell-like compactum connecting these two points, in particular the intersection is a connected set.  相似文献

We present an algorithm to compute the pointlike subsets of a finite semigroup with respect to the pseudovariety of all finite R-trivial semigroups. The algorithm is inspired by Henckell’s algorithm for computing the pointlike subsets with respect to the pseudovariety of all finite aperiodic semigroups. We also give an algorithm to compute -pointlike sets, where denotes the pseudovariety of all finite J-trivial semigroups. We finally show that, in contrast with the situation for , the natural adaptation of Henckell’s algorithm to computes pointlike sets, but not all of them.  相似文献
