We consider a branching random walk on N with a random environment in time (denoted by ξ). Let Zn be the counting measure of particles of generation n, and let Zn(t) be its Laplace transform. We show the convergence of the free energy n-llog Zn(t), large deviation principles, and central limit theorems for the sequence of measures {Zn}, and a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of moments of the limit of the martingale Zn(t)/E[Zn(t)ξ].  相似文献

We consider laws of iterated logarithm for one-dimensional transient random walks in random environments. A quenched law of iterated logarithm is presented for transient random walks in general ergodic random environments, including independent identically distributed environments and uniformly ergodic environments.  相似文献

The integer points (sites) of the real line are marked by the positions of a standard random walk with positive integer jumps. We say that the set of marked sites is weakly, moderately or strongly sparse depending on whether the jumps of the random walk are supported by a bounded set, have finite or infinite mean, respectively. Focussing on the case of strong sparsity and assuming additionally that the distribution tail of the jumps is regularly varying at infinity we consider a nearest neighbor random walk on the set of integers having jumps ±1 with probability 12 at every nonmarked site, whereas a random drift is imposed at every marked site. We prove new distributional limit theorems for the so defined random walk in a strongly sparse random environment, thereby complementing results obtained recently in Buraczewski et al. (2019) for the case of moderate sparsity and in Matzavinos et al. (2016) for the case of weak sparsity. While the random walk in a strongly sparse random environment exhibits either the diffusive scaling inherent to a simple symmetric random walk or a wide range of subdiffusive scalings, the corresponding limit distributions are non-stable.  相似文献

We describe the large time asymptotic behaviors of the probabilities of return to the origin associated to finite symmetric generating sets of abelian-by-cyclic groups. We characterize the different asymptotic behaviors by simple algebraic properties of the groups.

We establish the lower bound p 2t (e,e)exp(-t 1/3), for the large times asymptotic behaviours of the probabilities p 2t (e,e) of return to the origin at even times 2t, for random walks associated with finite symmetric generating sets of solvable groups of finite Prüfer rank. (A group has finite Prüfer rank if there is an integer r, such that any of its finitely generated subgroup admits a generating set of cardinality less or equal to r.) We consider linearly edge-reinforced random walk on an arbitrary locally finite connected graph. It is shown that the process has the same distribution as a mixture of reversible Markov chains, determined by time-independent strictly positive weights on the edges. Furthermore, we prove bounds for the random weights, uniform, among others, in the size of the graph.   相似文献

We present a multiscale analysis for the exit measures from large balls in , of random walks in certain i.i.d. random environments which are small perturbations of the fixed environment corresponding to simple random walk. Our main assumption is an isotropy assumption on the law of the environment, introduced by Bricmont and Kupiainen. Under this assumption, we prove that the exit measure of the random walk in a random environment from a large ball, approaches the exit measure of a simple random walk from the same ball, in the sense that the variational distance between smoothed versions of these measures converges to zero. We also prove the transience of the random walk in random environment. The analysis is based on propagating estimates on the variational distance between the exit measure of the random walk in random environment and that of simple random walk, in addition to estimates on the variational distance between smoothed versions of these quantities. We consider any purely finitely additive probability measure supported on the generators of an infinitely generated free group and the Markov strategy with stationary transition probability . As well as for the case of random walks (with countably additive transition probability) on finitely generated free groups, we prove that all bounded sets are transient. Finally, we consider any finitely additive measure (supported on the group generators) and we prove that the classification of the state space depends only on the continuous part of .  相似文献

This paper looks at random regular simple graphs and considers nearest neighbor random walks on such graphs. This paper considers walks where the degree d of each vertex is around (log n)a where a is a constant which is at least 2 and where n is the number of vertices. By extending techniques of Dou, this paper shows that for most such graphs, the position of the random walk becomes close to uniformly distributed after slightly more than log n/log d steps. This paper also gets similar results for the random graph G(n, p), where p = d/(n − 1). © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

We consider a random walk with the constraint that each coordinate of the walk is at distance one from the following one. In this paper, we show that this random walk is slowed down by a variance factor with respect to the case of the classical simple random walk without constraint. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Consider a graph G and a random walk on it. We want to stop the random walk at certain times (using an optimal stopping rule) to obtain independent samples from a given distribution ρ on the nodes. For an undirected graph, the expected time between consecutive samples is maximized by a distribution equally divided between two nodes, and so the worst expected time is 1/4 of the maximum commute time between two nodes. In the directed case, the expected time for this distribution is within a factor of 2 of the maximum. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J. Graph Theory 29: 57–62, 1998  相似文献

Summary. We consider random walks on classes of graphs defined on the d-dimensional binary cube ℤ2 d by placing edges on n randomly chosen parallel classes of vectors. The mixing time of a graph is the number of steps of a random walk before the walk forgets where it started, and reaches a random location. In this paper we resolve a question of Diaconis by finding exact expressions for this mixing time that hold for all n>d and almost all choices of vector classes. This result improves a number of previous bounds. Our method, which has application to similar problems on other Abelian groups, uses the concept of a universal hash function, from computer science.  相似文献

We consider random walks in random environments on ZdZd. Under a transitivity hypothesis that is much weaker than the customary ellipticity condition, and assuming an absolutely continuous invariant measure on the space of the environments, we prove the ergodicity of the annealed process w.r.t. the dynamics “from the point of view of the particle”. This implies in particular that the environment viewed from the particle is ergodic. As an example of application of this result, we give a general form of the quenched Invariance Principle for walks in doubly stochastic environments with zero local drift (martingale condition).  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of random walks on infinite trees with finitely many cone types (also called periodic trees). We consider nearest neighbour random walks with probabilities adapted to the cone structure of the tree, which include in particular the well studied classes of simple and homesick random walks. We give a simple criterion for transience or recurrence of the random walk and prove that the spectral radius is equal to 1 if and only if the random walk is recurrent. Furthermore, we study the asymptotic behaviour of return probabilitites and prove a local limit theorem. In the transient case, we also prove a law of large numbers and compute the rate of escape of the random walk to infinity, as well as prove a central limit theorem. Finally, we describe the structure of the boundary process and explain its connection with the random walk.  相似文献
