A planar waveguide dye laser, driven by commercial xenon flashlamps with an average power output of 200 W at 50 pulse per second (pps) is described. Due to the planar structure, a narrow bandwidth operation down to 10 GHz has been obtained with a single grating arranged at grazing incidence. With this configuration, high overall efficiency up to 0.6 percent has been obtained, partially due to energy conversion of the broad-band emission spectrum of the flash-lamps by circulating an appropriate dye solution between flashlamps and reflectors. 相似文献

Mode locking of a CW pumped Nd:YAG laser operating in the TEM01 or donut mode using an intracavity acoustooptic AM modulator is described. Mode-locking investigations to date have concentrated on obtaining as short pulses as possible at the expense of average and peak laser output power. We describe a mode-locked system for field use having an average output of 30 W, with pulses recurring at a 100 MHz rate and having a peak power in excess of 0.5 kW. Detector limited pulses of 0.6 ns duration were recorded and the mode locking was stable for several hours requiring no feedback loop or fine adjustment. 相似文献

A large-volume (19.5 L) laser tube has been built for the study of extrapolating power from the Cu-Ne-HBr laser medium. A copper vapor laser tube with a large volume (15.1 L) has been built for the study of extrapolation in power of the Cu-Ne-HCl-H/sub 2/ laser medium. A high-power (77 kW) all-solid-state high-voltage power supply has been also used for this purpose. Results show an improvement of the optical power after the HCl-H/sub 2/ mixture injection. Demonstrations of operation of a compact neodymium glass laser with average output powers greater than 1 kW for several seconds are reported. The laser is based on the thermal inertia laser (TIL) concept wherein a neodymium-doped glass rod is pumped uniformly without cooling during a burst mode of laser operation. Design principles for TIL devices and scaling to 100 kW class lasers are discussed. Experimental results for a low repetition-rate proof-of-concept pulsed device (30 J, 0.2 Hz) and a high repetition-rate pulsed prototype (40 J, 36 Hz) are presented and compared to numerical solutions for the laser rate equations with temperature dependent cross-sections 相似文献

A dual slab Nd:LHG5 glass zigzag optical path laser was constructed with single-sided pumping and tested. A single slab (0.63 times 5.6 times 35 cm) produced 80 W in an oscillator with an accompanying distortion of only 3 fringes (632.8 nm) as measured by a single-pass interferogram through the slab. Performance was achieved by producing uniform pumping and cooling of the slabs, and by controlling the distortion at the slab ends with pump shields. 相似文献

A Ne-H2-CuBr laser (λ510.6, 578.2 nm) is reported, which produced an average output power of 120 W at 2.5% efficiency (based on stored energy) and 100 W at 3% efficiency. Ultraviolet (UV) powers of over 1 W have been obtained by second harmonic and sum frequency generation from a single medium scale (20 W) copper vapor laser (CVL) using a new focal geometry in which the CVL beam is focused in only one direction to produce a line focus within a BBO crystal. High optical conversion efficiencies, 20 and 30%, are observed for the low divergence (~-10 times the diffraction limit) and diffraction-limited components of the CVL output, respectively. Wall-plug efficiencies for UV generation are up to 0.04%. 采用多级射频放大电路以及高压脉冲调制技术,实现了S波段高增益小型化200 W功率模块的研制。驱动放大电路采用GaAs功率单片进行功率合成;末级放大电路依托栅长(0.5 μm) GaN高电子迁移率晶体管(HEMT)芯片,选取多子胞结构来改善热分布,通过内匹配技术设计完成了双胞总栅宽24 mm GaN芯片的匹配网络,并设计高压脉冲调制电路提供电源,成功研制出了小型化的S波段200 W内匹配GaN功率模块。测试得出该模块实现了在输入功率10 dBm,栅极电压-5 V,漏极电压32 V,TTL调制信号输入条件下,输出频率在3.1~3.5 GHz处,输出功率大于200 W,功率附加效率(PAE)大于55%。模块实际尺寸为2.4 mm×38 mm×5.5 mm。 相似文献
