The NMR of 55Mn in the quasi-one-dimensional noncollinear antiferromagnet CsMnI3 at T=1.3 K is investigated in magnetic fields up to ∼40 kOe. Six NMR branches corresponding to six manganese spins per magnetic unit cell are observed. The NMR spectra correspond satisfactorily to the well-known magnetic structure of CsMnI3, taking into account the dynamic frequency shift due to the interaction with the low-lying AFMR modes. The average spins 〈S A〉=1.86 and 〈S B〉=1.74 of the magnetically nonequivalent Mn2+ ions are determined from the measured values of the hyperfine fields. The results obtained agree qualitatively with the calculations of spin reduction in quasi-one-dimensional antiferromagnets [Y. Watabe, T. Suzuki, and Y. Natsume, Phys. Rev. B 52, 3400 (1995)]. Within the framework of the diffusion approximation for the dynamic magnetic flux, a model is constructed for the dynamic magnetic susceptibility of a superconductor with a nonuniform and time-dependent magnetic field distribution in the sample. The possibility of appearance of peaks in the temperature (or frequency) dependence of χ″ in a structurally homogeneous superconducting sample in the presence of a magnetic-field-induced nonuniformity of the diffusion parameter is demonstrated. The character of the temporal evolution of the magnetic susceptibility during relaxation of the magnetic moment of the sample is predicted and its properties are investigated. Fiz. Tverd. The real (χ′ n) and imaginary (χ″ n) parts of even harmonic susceptibility (n⩽6) are measured as a function of external DC field (H dc) in the field increasing (H↑) and decreasing (H↑) cycle. Hysteresis is observed betweenH↑ andH↓ cycles. In theH↓ cycle, at a field,H comp=4·2G, bothχ′ andχ″ of all the even harmonics vanish indicating a true cancellation of fields in the intergrain region (H eff≈0) caused by the balance betweenH dc and the remanent magnetization of the grains. The position of the extrema and the zero of the various harmonics undergo a shift proportional to the remanent magnetization of the grains at that particular field.  相似文献

A formula for the dynamic spin susceptibility is derived in terms of the t-J-V model. This formula makes it possible to explain the main features of recent experiments on neutron scattering in the electron-doped superconductor Pr0.88LaCe0.12CuO4 − x . In particular, the proposed theory reproduces well a V-shaped relief in the frequency behavior of the imaginary part χ″(Q, ω) of the susceptibility of the Pr0.88LaCe0.12CuO4 − x compound in the vicinity of the wave vector Q = (π,π) and the scaling behavior of the position of the maxima in the dependence of the function χ″(Q, ω) T on the quantity ω/T. The magnetism of the high-temperature superconductors is dual. These materials contain charge carriers, on the one hand, and localized spins in the copper ion sublattice, on the other hand. Both these systems are strongly coupled to each other. The mode of collective oscillations is common. The magnetism of localized spins “freezes” with the appearance of the superconducting gap. The recently revealed double-peak structure of the imaginary part χ″(Q, ω) of the susceptibility in superconductors of the La1.84Sr0.16CuO4 type is explained. The low-frequency absorption peak is located within the superconducting gap and interpreted as a manifestation of the branch of spin excitons, and the high-frequency absorption peak predominantly corresponds to renormalized collective oscillations of localized spins. A theory of nonresonant acoustic absorption in Ising magnets is constructed by the nonequilibrium statistical operator method. It is assumed that the spins are coupled with the sound via modulation of the Ising exchange integral, and the nonresonant absorption is due to the interaction of the spin system with the thermal vibrations of the lattice. The frequency dependence of the absorption χ″(ω), which has an analytical form different from that of the well-known Debye function, is determined. The temperature dependence of χ″(ω), which is made up of 1) the averages of the vibrational variables and 2) the temperature dependence of the spin correlation functions of the linear Ising model, is analyzed. It is shown that the cross-coupling of the two subsystems (Ising and Zeeman) produces a second absorption peak at low frequencies together with the peak characteristic of the Debye curve. Fiz. Tverd. Summary The planarity and electron delocalization of the 2, 2′:6′, 2″-terpyridine (terpy) moiety in salts of the type [Pt(terpy)Me]X leads to extensive stacking interactions in aqueous solution. UV/VIS,1H NMR and resonance light scattering spectra provide evidence for the tendency of the complex to form large aggregates even under low ionic strength conditions. The interaction of the cationic complex with calf thymus DNA was investigated by spectroscopic techniques and mobility assays. At highr f ratios the complex seems to form extended aggregates on the surface of the nucleic acid but at lowerr f evidence was obtained for intercalation. The NMR spectrum of the quasi-one-dimensional easy-plane antiferromagnetic CsMnBr3, which has trigonal spin lattice, is investigated in detail. The measurements were performed on a wide-band NMR decimeter microwave-band spectrometer over a wide range of magnetic fields at temperatures 1.3–4.2 K. All three branches of the NMR spectrum previously found by us [JETP Lett. 64, 225 (1996)] are severely distorted because of the dynamic interaction with the Goldstone mode in the antiferromagnetic resonance spectrum. The experimental results in fields up to 40 kOe are described satisfactorily by an equation obtained by Zaliznyak et al. [JETP Lett. 64, 473 (1996)]. Formulas are obtained in our work that agree very well with experiment at all fields up to the “collapse” field H c of all sublattices. The unbiased NMR frequency in CsMnBr3 is determined to be v n0=416 MHz (T=1.3 K) in zero external magnetic field, and in this way the reduction in the spontaneous moment due to the quasi-one-dimensional nature of the system of Mn2+ spins, which according to our data amounts to 28%, is determined more accurately. The field dependences of the directions of the magnetic sublattices with respect to the magnetic field are obtained from the NMR spectra, confirming the equations of Chubukov [J. Phys. Condens. Matter 21, 441 (1988)]. The results on the field dependence of the width and intensities of the NMR lines are discussed, along with three observed anomalies: 1) a strong increase in the NMR frequency for nuclei in sublattices that are perpendicular to the magnetic field; 2) the nonmonotonic temperature dependence of the resonance field for the lower branch of the spectrum; 3) the presence of two branches of the NMR spectrum in large H c fields, in which the CsMnBr3 must be a quasi-one-dimensional antiferromagnetic. A tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) technique and appropriate instrumentation was developed for the measurement of temperature and water vapor concentrations in heated gases. The technique is based on the detection of the spectra of H2O absorption lines with different energies of low levels. The following absorption lines of H2O were used: 7189.344 cm−1 (E″=142 cm−1), 7189.541 cm−1 (E″=1255 cm−1), 7189.715 cm−1 (E″=2005 cm−1). Spectra were recorded using fast frequency scanning of a single distributed feedback (DFB) laser. A unique differential scheme for the recording of the absorption spectra was developed. An optimal technique for fitting the experimental spectra was developed.  相似文献

The generation of a femptosecond second harmonic in a bacterior-hodopsin solution is investigated. It is shown that the behavior of the harmonic can be explained by the coherent interference of several contributions from three-and five-wave mixing processes (χ (2) and χ (4)). Earlier by the authors (Yad. Fiz. 70, 68 (2007)), the states were treated in the framework of the spectral integral equation, together with simultaneous calculations of radiative decays of the considered bottomonia. In the present paper, such a study is carried out for the charmonium states. We reconstruct the interaction in the c-c sector on the basis of the data for the charmonium levels with J PC = 0−+, 1−−, 0++, 1++, 2++, 1+− and radiative transitions ψ(2S) → γχ c0(1P), γχ c1(1P), γχ c2(1P), γχ c(1S) and χ c0(1P), χ c1(1P), χ c2(1P) → γJ/ψ. The c-c levels and their wave functions are calculated for the radial excitations with n ≤ 6. Also, we determine the c-c component of the photon wave function using the e + e -annihilation data: e + e J/ψ(3097), ψ(3686), ψ(3770), ψ(4040), ψ(4160), ψ(4415) and perform the calculations of the partial widths of the two-photon decays for the n = 1 states η c0(1S), χ c0(1P), χ c2(1P) → γγ and n = 2 states η c0(2S) → γγ, χ c0(2P) → γγ. We discuss the status of the recently observed c-c states X(3872) and Y(3941): according to our results, the X(3872) can be either χ c1(2P) or η c2(1D), while Y(3941) is χ c2(2P). This paper reviews and compares the use of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and related hyperfine techniques [muon spin rotation (μSR) and, to a lesser extent, other methods] in the study of 4f and 5f magnetism in “unstable magnets”, i.e., intermediate-valent and heavy-fermion materials. In both NMR and μSR the features of interest are the spectral shape, the frequency shiftK (Knight shift in metals) and the spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T 1. For temperatures below the characteristic or “Kondo” temperatureT 0 these experiments given evidence for (1) modification of the transferred hyperfine field [nonlinearK(χ)]. (2) spin fluctuations with a characteristic fluctuation rate ∼k B T 0/h, (3) strong energy-gap anisotropy (zeros of the gap along lines on the Fermi surface) in heavy-fermion superconductors, (4) spin-singlet Cooper pairing from the change in muon Knight shift in superconducting UBe13, and (5) very weak static magnetism (10−1–10−3 μB/f atom) in CeAl3, CeCu2Si2, U1−x Th x Be13 (x=0.033), and UPt3. There is some controversy concerning the interpretation of 1/T 1 well aboveT 0 in UBe13; the situation is reviewed.  相似文献

Chemical shielding anisotropy tensors have been determined, within the GIAO-RHF formalism using a smaller [6-31+G(d)] and two medium-size basis sets [6-311++G(d,p) and TZ2P], for all elements of the conformational library (altogether 27 structures) of the hydrophobic model peptide For-L-Phe-NH2. The individual chemical shifts and their conformational averages have been compared to their experimental counterparts taken from the BioMagnetic Resonance Bank (BMRB). At the highest level of theory applied, for all nuclei but the amide proton, deviations between statistically averaged theoretical and experimental chemical shifts are as low as a few percent. One-dimensional (1D) chemical shift - structure plots do not allow unambiguous identification of backbone conformations. On the other hand, on chemical shift - chemical shift plots of selected nuclei, e.g., 1H N with 15N or 15N with 13C α , regions corresponding to major conformational motifs have been found, providing basis for the identification of peptide conformers solely from NMR shift data. The 2D 1H α -13C α as well as the 3D 1H α -13C α -13C β chemical shift - chemical shift plots appear to be of special importance for direct determination of conformations of protein building units from multidimensional NMR experiments. 48 pairs of 1H α -13C α data for phenylalanine residues have been extracted from 18 selected proteins and compared to relevant ab initio results, supporting the calculated results. Thus, the appealing idea of establishing backbone folding information of peptides and proteins from chemical shift information alone, obtained from selected multiple-pulse NMR experiments (e.g., 2D-HSQC, 2D-HMQC, and 3D-HNCA), has received further support.  相似文献

A new expression is found for the spin-dependent contribution Δm s to the self-energy of an electron moving with a transverse momentum p⊥ in an electric field. The structure of an asymptotic expansion of Δm s (r, χ) as a function of two dynamical invariants r = γ −2 and χ = γ |ɛ|/ɛ c (γ 2 ≡ 1 + p 2/m 2 c 2 and ɛ c m 2 c 3/|e|ℏ) is clarified with the aid of this expression. The expansion of Δm s (r, χ) can be represented in the form of a Taylor series in r, the coefficients in this series, F 0(χ), F 1(χ), etc., being integrals of the Mellin type. The major coefficient F 0(χ) is universal and, in the case of an appropriate interpretation of χ, describes well-known spin-dependent corrections to the mass in three different cases of a constant external field (for r → 0). The asymptotic properties of the function F 1(χ) are studied in detail, but only order-of-magnitude estimates are obtained for F 2(χ) and F 3(χ). A comparison of these contributions revealed that, in the semiclassical region χ ≪ 1, r is indeed the parameter of the aforementioned expansion, while, for χ ≫ 1, the true parameter is 2β 2. In particular, the anomalous magnetic moment develops, owing to F 1(χ), a term that grows logarithmically for χ ≫ 1, but which does not violate the hierarchy of terms in the Taylor series being considered, provided that β remains smaller than unity.  相似文献

This paper reports on a study of the resistance and differential magnetic susceptibility χ ac of lead embedded in nanosized glass pores with a diameter of ∼7 mm, which was performed at temperatures of 6–300 K and magnetic fields of up to 6 T. The field dependence of the resistance R(H) and the temperature dependences of the real, χ″(T), and imaginary, χ″(T), parts of magnetic susceptibility reveal indications of superconducting phase transitions associated with the volume and surface superconductivity of Pb nanopar ticles. The measurements of the field dependence of resistance have been used to set up the H c -T c phase diagram and to carry out a comparison with the study of the heat capacity performed on the same samples.  相似文献

The shift in the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) line of 71Ga isotopes in GaAs crystals is investigated in the temperature range 160–360 K. It is observed that the position of the resonance line is temperature-independent. The value of the shift relative to an isolated nucleus is 440 and 420 ppm for the three samples investigated. Data on the NMR line shifts, the spin-lattice relaxation rate of 63Cu and 17O nuclei, and the spin-spin relaxation rate of 63Cu are obtained for Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8−δ (T c =112 K) in the normal and superconducting states. The hyperfine constants at the copper and oxygen atoms in a CuO2 plane are estimated from an analysis of the temperature dependence of the Knight shift. The temperature-dependent behavior of the long-and short-wavelength parts of the dynamic spin susceptibility is discussed by modeling an antiferromagnetic Fermi liquid. The temperature dependence of the axial constants b 2 0 characterizing the fine structure of the EPR spectra of Gd3+ in a layered GaSe crystal is investigated. The compound GaSe:Gd contains three types of centers, in which Gd3+ is associated with Li+ or Na+ ions situated in the interlayer space. The influence of these ions on the phonon spectrum of the crystal is studied. It is shown that the lithium atoms are too small to have any appreciable influence on low-frequency optical vibrations (the E″ mode), which govern the behavior of the temperature curve. Here b 2 0 (T) remains linear in the temperature range well below the Debye temperature ΘD; this is a characteristic feature of layered structures. Sodium, on the other hand, completely suppresses the E″ mode, so that, for centers associated with it, the temperature dependence of b 2 0 (T) exhibits the same behavior as for ordinary (nonlayered) crystals, where linearity is observed only for TD. Magnetoelectric susceptibility (ξ) of classical magnetoelectrics is always substantially smaller that the geometric average of the electric (χ e ) and magnetic (χ m ) susceptibilities. Materials reaching the equality ξ 2 = χ e χ m as a limiting value may thus be considered as ideal magnetoelectrics. Here we investigate the magnetoelectric susceptibility of a metamaterial built from split ring resonators both experimentally and within an equivalent circuit model. Due to a direct proportionality between electric polarization and magnetization, the magnetoelectric susceptibility of this metamaterial fulfils the equality ξ 2 = χ e χ m at least in the dynamic regime.  相似文献

The effect of gamma irradiation on the dielectric properties and ac conductivity of a TlInS2 single crystal with a layered structure has been investigated in the frequency range from 5 × 104 to 3.5 × 107Hz. It has been shown that gamma irradiation of the TlInS2 single crystal with a dose of 104–2.25 × 106 rad leads to a considerable increase in the dielectric loss tangent tanδ, the real part ɛ′ and imaginary part ɛ″ of the complex permittivity, and the ac conductivity σ ac across the layers. It has been established that, for all gamma irradiation doses, the TlInS2 single crystal is characterized by the dielectric loss due to electrical conduction up to a frequency of 107 Hz and by the relaxation loss at a higher frequency. Irradiation of the TlInS2 single crystal results in an increase in the dispersion of tan δ, ɛ′, and ɛ″. It has been demonstrated that, as the gamma irradiation dose is accumulated in the TlInS2 single crystal, the density of localized states near the Fermi level N F increases (from 5.2 × 1018 to 1.9 × 1019 eV−1 cm−3).  相似文献
