In this paper, we report synthesis of new alkyldiphenyl phosphine ligand modified poly(ether imine) dendrimers up to the third generation. The phosphinated dendrimers were obtained by functional group transformations of the alcohols present at the periphery of the dendrimers to chloride, followed by phosphination using LiPPh2. The modification at the peripheries of the dendrimers was performed successfully to obtain up to 16 alkyl diphenylphosphines in the case of a third generation dendrimer, in good yields for each individual step. After phosphination, dendritic ligands were complexed with Pd(COD)Cl2 to give dendritic phosphine-PdII complexes. Both the ligands and the metal complexes were characterized by spectroscopic and spectrometric techniques including high-resolution mass spectral analysis for the lower generations. Evaluation of the catalytic efficacies of the dendrimer-PdII metal complexes in mediating a prototypical C-C bond forming reaction, namely the Heck reaction, was performed using various olefin substrates. While the substrate conversion lowered with catalyst in the order from monomer to third generation dendrimer, the second and third generation dendrimers themselves were found to exhibit significantly better catalytic activities than the monomer and the first generation dendrimer.  相似文献

1H, 13C and 15N NMR studies of iron(II), ruthenium(II) and osmium(II) tris‐chelated cationic complexes with 2,2′‐bipyridine and 1,10‐phenanthroline of the general formula [M(LL)3]2+ (M = Fe, Ru, Os; LL = bpy, phen) were performed. Inconsistent literature 1H signal assignments were corrected. Significant shielding of nitrogen‐adjacent protons [H(6) in bpy, H(2) in phen] and metal‐bonded nitrogens was observed, being enhanced in the series Ru(II) → Os(II) → Fe(II) for 1H, Fe(II) → Ru(II) → Os(II) for 15N and bpy → phen for both nuclei. The carbons are deshielded, the effect increasing in the order Ru(II) → Os(II) → Fe(II). Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Ru(II) complexes of the general formula [RuCl2(′′)(L)] (1: ′N = Nb, L = MeOH; 2: ′N = Nb, L = CH3CN; 3: ′N = Nd, L = CH3CN; 4: ′N = Np, L = CH3CN), [Ru(p‐cymene)(a–b)Cl]Cl (5a: N Na = 2,2′‐bipyridine; 5b: N Nb = 4,4′‐dimethyl–2,2′‐bipyridine), [Ru(′′)(a–b)Cl]Cl (6a: ′N = Nb, a = 2,2′‐bipyridine; 6b: ′N = Nb, b = 4,4′‐dimethyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine; 7a: ′N = Nd, a = 2,2′‐bipyridine; 7b: ′N = Nd, b = 4,4′‐dimethyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine; 8a: ′N = Np, a = 2,2′‐bipyridine; 8b: ′N = Np, b = 4,4′‐dimethyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine) and [Ru(′′)(a)Cl]BF4 (9a: ′N = Nb; a = 2,2′‐bipyridine) were synthesized from the corresponding [RuCl2(p‐cymene)]2 dimer, ′′ and a–b ligands. The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR. Complex 9a was studied by X‐ray diffraction, confirming its cationic‐mononuclear [RuCl(bb)(a)]+ nature. The synthesized Ru(II) complexes (1–8) were employed as catalysts for the transfer hydrogenation of ketones to secondary alcohols in the presence of KOH using 2‐propanol as a hydrogen source at 82°C. The rates of the transfer hydrogenation reactions strongly depended on the type of and ancillary ligands. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The semiempirical zero-differential-overlap molecular orbital model which was shown in earlier papers in this series to give a good account of the charge transfer and -* spectra of Fe(II) complexes with conjugated ligands such as 2,2-bipyridyl and 1,10-phenanthroline is extended to complexes having openshell ground states, such as those of Fe(III), and to complexes of Ru(II) and Ru(III). The results are used to assign the observed charge transfer and intra-ligand absorption bands to specific orbital transitions. Observed and calculated intensities are in good agreement: reasons are advanced for the much lower intensity of the charge transfer bands in Ru(III) compared to Ru(II) complexes.  相似文献

In the search for antitumor active metal complexes several ruthenium complexes have been reported to be promising. A series of mononuclear Ru(II) complexes, [Ru(T)2(S)]2+, where T?=?2,2′-bipyridine/1,10-phenanthroline and S?=?CH3-bitsz, Cl-bitsz, Br-bitsz, tmtsz, dmtsz, have been prepared and characterized by UV-Vis, IR, 1H-NMR, FAB-mass spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. The complexes were subjected to in vivo anticancer activity against a transplantable murine tumor cell line Ehrlich's ascitic carcinoma (EAC) and in vitro cytotoxic activity against human cancer cell line Molt 4/C8, CEM, and murine tumor cell line L1210. Ruthenium complexes showed promising biological activity especially in decreasing tumor volume and viable ascitic cell counts. Treatment with these complexes prolonged the life span of EAC-tumor-bearing mice by 10–48%. In vitro evaluation of these ruthenium complexes revealed cytotoxic activity from 0.21 to 24?µmol?L?1 against Molt 4/C8, 0.16–19?µmol?L?1 against CEM, and 0.75–32?µmol?L?1 against L1210 cell proliferation, depending on the nature of the compound.  相似文献

A novel ligand dipyrido[1,2,5]oxadiazolo[3,4-b]quinoxaline (dpoq) and its complexes [Ru(bpy)2(dpoq)]2+ and [Ru(phen)2(dpoq)]2+ (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, electrospray mass spectra and 1H NMR. The interaction of Ru(II) complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) was investigated by absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, thermal denaturation and viscosity measurements. Results suggest that two Ru(II) complexes bind to DNA via an intercalative mode.  相似文献

The synthesis, spectral characterization, and biological studies of ruthenium(II) hydrazone complexes [RuCl(CO)(PPh3)2L] (where L = hydrazone ligands) have been carried out. The hydrazones are monobasic bidentate ligands with O and N as the donors and are preferably found in the enol form in all the complexes. The molecular structure of the ligands HL1, HL2, and HL3 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The DNA binding studies of the ligands and complexes were carried out by absorption spectroscopic and viscosity measurements. The results revealed that the ligands and complexes bind to DNA via intercalation. The DNA cleavage activity of the complexes, evaluated by gel electrophoresis assay, revealed that the complexes are good DNA cleaving agents. The antioxidant properties of the complexes were evaluated against DPPH, OH, and NO radicals, which showed that the complexes have strong radical-scavenging. Further, the in vitro cytotoxic effect of the complexes examined on HeLa and MCF-7 cancer cell lines showed that the complexes exhibited significant anticancer activity.  相似文献

Three Ru complexes coordinated by oxfloxacin, [Ru(L)2(OFX)]Cl·2H2O (L = bpy, 1; dmbpy, 2; phen, 3; and OFX = ofloxacin), were synthesized and characterized. These complexes can inhibit the growth of cervical cancer HeLa cells efficiently. Furthermore, these three complexes exhibited excellent binding affinities with DNA, as confirmed by spectroscopy methods and viscosity experiments. Therefore, the synthesized Ru(II) complexes have excellent DNA-binding abilities with potential applications in cancer chemotherapy.  相似文献

Two polymeric complexes, [Cu2(btec)(phen)2]n·(H2O)n (1) and [Cd4(btec)2(phen)4(H2O)4]n (2) (H4btec=1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid; PHEN=1,10-phenanthroline), were synthesized by solvothermal reactions at 140 °C. Both complex 1 and 2 possess infinite double-chain structures, in which each Cu(II) center has a tetrahedral configuration and the Cd(II) centers adopt triangular prismatic and square-based pyramidal configurations simultaneously. The inter-chain face to face π–π interactions among the aromatic rings of phen and the hydrogen bond interactions between aqua molecules and carboxyl O atoms result in 3-D networks in the two complexes. The ESR spectra study of complex 1 shows that there is negligibly small long-range super-exchange interactions between the Cu(II) atoms via benzenecarboxylate bridging.  相似文献

Based on the a ligand BDPPZ [(9a,13a‐dihydro‐4,5,9,14‐tetraaza‐benzo[b]triphenylene‐11‐yl)‐phenyl‐methanone] (1) and its polypyridyl hetero‐ and homoleptic Ru(II) metal complexes, [Ru(bpy)2L](PF6)2 (2), [Ru(phen)2L](PF6)2 (3), [Ru(dafo)2L](PF6)2 (4), [Ru(dcbpy)2L](PF6)2 (5) and [RuL3](PF6)2 (6) (where, L = ligand, bpy = 2,2′‐bipyridine, phen = 1,10‐phenantroline, dafo = 4,5‐diazafluoren‐9‐one and dcbpy = 3,3′‐dicarboxy‐2,2′‐bipyridine), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, UV–vis, FT‐IR, 1H and 13C‐NMR spectra (for ligand), molar conductivity measurements and X‐ray powder techniques. The electrochemical parameters of the substituted ligand and its polypyridyl hetero‐ and homoleptic Ru(II) metal complexes are reported by cyclic voltammetry. UV–vis spectroscopy is used to compare the differences between the conjugated π systems in this ligand and its Ru(II) metal complexes. The polypyridyl hetero‐ and homoleptic Ru(II) metal complexes also tested as catalysts for the formation of cyclic organic carbonates from carbon dioxide and liquid epoxides which served as both reactant and solvent. The results showed that the [Ru(L)3](PF6)2 (6) complex is more efficient than the other Ru(II) complexes for the formation of cyclic organic carbonates from carbon dioxide. Two polypyridyl ligands 6-fluro-3-(1H-imidazo [4,5-f] [1,10]-phenanthroline-2-yl)-4H-chromen-4-one (FIPC), 6-chloro-3-(1H-imidazo [4,5-f] [1,10]-phenanthroline-2-yl)-4H-chromen-4-one (ClIPC) polypyridyl ligands and their Ru(II) complexes [Ru(bipy)2FIPC]2+(1), [Ru(dmb)2FIPC]2+(2), [Ru(phen)2FIPC]2+(3), [Ru(bipy)2ClIPC]2+(4), [Ru(dmb)2ClIPC]2+(5) and [Ru(phen)2ClIPC]2+(6) ((bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine, dmb = 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine and phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) have been synthesised and characterised by elemental analysis, Mass spectra, IR, 1H and 13C-NMR. The DNA-binding of the six complexes to calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA) has been investigated by different spectrophotometric, fluorescence and viscosity measurements. The results suggest that 1–6 complexes bind to CT-DNA through intercalation. The variation in binding affinities of these complexes is rationalised by a consideration of electrostatic, steric factors and nature of ancillary ligands. Under irradiation at 365 nm, the three complexes have also been found to promote the photocleavage of plasmid pBR 322 DNA. Inhibitor studies suggest that singlet oxygen (1O2) plays a significant role in the cleavage mechanism of Ru(II) complexes. Thereby, under comparable experimental conditions [Ru(phen)2FIPC]2+(3), [Ru(phen)2ClIPC]2+(6) cleaves DNA more effectively than 1, 2, 4 and 5 complexes do. The Ru(II) polypyridyl complexes (1–6) have been screened for antimicrobial activities.  相似文献

Five new metal complexes [Pd(LH)2] (1), [Pd(L)2Ru2(bpy)4](ClO4)2 (2), [Pd(L)2Ru2(phen)4](ClO4)2 (3), [Pd(L)2Ru2(dafo)4](ClO4)2 (4) and [Pd(L)2Ru2(dcbpy)4](ClO4)2 (5), (where, L = ligand, bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine, phen = 1,10-phenantroline, dafo = 4,5-diazafluoren-9-one and dcbpy = 3,3′-dicarboxy-2,2′-bipyridine) have been isolated and characterized by UV-VIS, FT-IR, 1H NMR, magnetic susceptibility measurements, elemental analysis, molar conductivity, X-ray powder techniques, thermal analyses and their morphology studied by SEM measurements. IR spectra show that the ligand acts in a tetradentate manner and coordinates N4 donor groups of LH2 to PdII ion. The disappereance of H-bonding (O−H···O) in the trinuclear RuII-PdII-RuII metal complexes, the RuII ion centered into the main oxime core by the coordination of the imino groups while the two RuII ions coordinate dianionic oxygen donors of the oxime groups and linked to the ligands of bpy, phen, dafo and dbpy. The X-powder results show that 1 metal complex is indicating crystalline nature, not amorphous nature. Whereas, the X-ray powder pattern of the ligand (LH2) with 2, 3,4 and 5 exhibited only broad humps, indicating its amorphous nature. The catalytic activity of three different complexes were tested in the Suzuki coupling reaction. The 1, 4 and 5 metal complexes catalyse Suzuki coupling reaction between phenylboronic acid and arylbromides affording biphenyls. Also, the thermal results shown that the most stable complex is 1 compound while the less stable is 4 compound.  相似文献

DNA-binding and DNA-photocleavage properties of two Ru(II) complexes, [Ru(L1)(dppz)2](PF6)4 (1) and [Ru(L2)(dppz)2](PF6)4 (2) (L1 = 5,5′-di(1-(triethylammonio)methyl)-2,2′-dipyridyl cation; L2 = 5,5′-di(1-(tributylammonio)methyl)-2,2′-dipyridyl cation; dppz = dipyrido[3,2-a:2′,3′-c]phenazine, have been investigated. Experimental results show that the DNA-binding affinity of complex 1 is greater than that of 2, both complexes emit luminescence in aqueous solution, either alone or in the presence of DNA, complex 1 can bind to DNA in an intercalative mode while 2 most likely interacts with DNA in a partial intercalation fashion, and complex 2 serves as a better candidate for enantioselective binding to CT-DNA compared with 1. Moreover, complex 1 reveals higher efficient DNA cleavage activity than 2, during which supercoiled DNA is converted to nicked DNA with both complexes. Theoretical calculations for the two complexes have been carried out applying the density functional theory (DFT) method at the level of the B3LYP/LanL2DZ basis set. The calculated results can reasonably explain the obtained experimental trends in the DNA-binding affinities and binding constants (Kb) of these complexes.  相似文献

The host-guest relationships of the complexes of the cryptand ligands O-BISTREN and C-BISTREN, and of the analogous macrocyclic ligand BISDIEN are compared. The affinities of their binuclear copper(II) complexes for the bridging ligands (OH, F) as cascade type guests (i.e., guests of guests) are reported. The ability of the dicobalt(II)-BISDIEN complex to coordinate dioxygen and an additional bifunctional guest simultaneously, leads to the possibility of a new type of catalysis occurring within the cavity of a macrocyclic complex.  相似文献

MALDI and ESI-MS have been applied to the characterization of the reaction products between the labile cis-[Pt(DMSO)2Cl2] (1) and trans-[Pt(DMSO)2Cl(CH3)] (2) complexes with the simplest poly(amidoamine) ligand (PAMAM, G = 0, 1,2-diaminoethane as core). The comparison of the mass spectra of the starting G0 and those of the metallo-dendrimers formed upon mixing of the reagents in an equimolecular ratio, and the analysis of the isotopic distribution in the ESI spectra, have revealed the formation of cationic and neutral mononuclear complexes with PAMAM as ligand, e.g., cis-[Pt(DMSO)(PAMAM)Cl]Cl or trans-(C,N)[Pt(DMSO)(PAMAM)Cl(CH3)], together with various minor components, which have been identified as derivatives from defective structures of PAMAM. The geometry of the main products has been deduced from the values of the protons coupling constants with the isotopically abundant 195Pt. The metal-to-ligand bond is restricted to the peripheral amino groups of PAMAM which shows sufficient flexibility to involve either one or two branches in the coordination bonding.  相似文献

Cyclometallated Ru(II) complexes of the type [Ru(CO)(EPh3)2(L)] (E = P or As; L = tridentate hydrazone-derived ligand) have been obtained by refluxing an ethanolic solution of [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)3] or [RuHCl(CO)(AsPh3)3] with the hydrazone derivatives H2php (2-[(2,4-dinitro-phenyl)-hydrazonomethyl]-phenol), H2phm (2-[(2,4-dinitro-phenyl)-hydrazonomethyl]-6-methoxy-phenol) and H2phn (2-[(2,4-dinitro-phenyl)-hydrazonomethyl]-naphthalen-1-ol). The formation of stable cyclometallated complexes has been authenticated by single crystal X-ray structure determination of two of the complexes, and the mechanism of C–H activation is discussed in detail. The spectral (IR, UV–Vis and 1H NMR) and electrochemical data for all the complexes are reported. Electrochemistry shows a substantial variation in the metal redox potentials with regard to the electronic nature of the substituents present in the hydrazone derivative.  相似文献

Complexes of pyridine-2-aldoxime (Hpox) with iron(II) and chromium(III) of type, [Fe(Hpox)2 X 2] (X=Cl, Br, I or NCS); [Cr(Hpox)3]Cl3·3 H2O; [Cr(Hpox)2 X 2]ClO4 (X=F, Cl or Br) and [Cr(Hpox)2(H2O)2]Br3·H2O were prepared and characterized by analytical X-ray powder diffraction, magnetism, vibrational (conventional and far-infrared) and electronic spectroscopy techniques. X-ray and electronic spectral data indicate that all the complexes except [Cr(Hpox)3]Cl3·3 H2O havetrans-pseudo-octahedral microsymmetry around the metal ion. Infrared spectral data indicate that the ligand, Hpox, behaves like a neutral ligand and coordinates to the metal ion through pyridine nitrogen atom and oxime nitrogen atom in all these complexes. The magnetic susceptibilities of chromium(III) complexes, measured over a temperature range 300–78 K, are independent of temperature whereas the magnetic moments of iron(II) complexes over a temperature range 300–20 K are dependent of temperature. The observed temperature dependence of magnetic moments of iron(II) complexes was used to evaluate the magnitude of orbital reduction factor,k, the low-symmetry distortion parameter, , and the extent of reduction in spin-orbital coupling, . In all these iron(II) complexes the magnetic results indicate the presence of an orbitally non-degenerate,5B2g, ground state. Magnetically unperturbed and perturbedMössbauer spectra of iron(II) complexes at various temperatures have also been reported. Magnetically perturbedMössbauer spectra of iron(II) complexes at 4.2 K in an axial field of 60kGauss indicate that the principal component of electric field gradient tensor is positive and consistent with5B2g ground electronic state in a tetragonal (D 4h) local site symmetry.

Abstract

In the present investigation, the bioactive azo-dye ligand 1,5-dimethyl-4-[(3-methyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)diazenyl]-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one (L) and its transition metal complexes have been synthesized and characterized by various physical and spectroscopic techniques to elucidate their geometrical structures. The molar conductivity measurements confirmed the non-electrolytic nature of the complexes. EPR spectroscopy indicated that the metal complexes are monomeric in nature and exhibited octahedral geometry. The redox behavior of the copper complex was studied by the cyclic voltammetric technique in DMF solution and the complex showed well-established redox behavior at a scan rate of 0.05 V s?1. The antimicrobial activity of the ligand and its metal complexes were screened against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Aspergillus niger, and Candida albicans, and the results indicated increased activity after coordination of the ligand to the metal ions. The metal complexes exhibited enhanced antitubercular activity after chelation against M. tuberculosis. The DNA-binding experiments showed that the ligand and its metal complexes showed effective binding properties through intercalative mode against CT-DNA. All the synthesized molecules showed partial cleavage of supercoiled plasmid pUC18 DNA.  相似文献

The semicarbazone (L1) has been prepared by reaction of semicarbazide and glutaraldehyde (2 : 1) in distilled water and methanol (1 : 1). The reaction of semicarbazide, glutaraldehyde and diethyl oxalate in distilled water and methanol gave Schiff-base L2, 1,2,4,7,9,10-hexaazacyclo-pentadeca-10,15-dien-3,5,6,8-tetraone. Complexes of first row transition metal ions Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) have also been synthesized. The ligand and its complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic moment measurements, IR, 1H NMR, UV–Visible spectra and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Molar conductance values show that the complexes of Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Mn(II) and Co(II) are 1 : 2 electrolytes. On the basis of electronic spectral studies and molar conductance measurements an octahedral structure has been proposed for Mn(II) and Co(II) complexes, tetrahedral for Zn(II) complex and square planar for Ni(II) and Cu(II). The thermal behavior of the compounds, studied by TGA in a nitrogen atmosphere up to 800°C, reveal that the complexes have higher thermal stability than the macrocycle. All the synthesized compounds and standard drugs kanamycin (antibacterial) and miconazole (antifungal) have been screened against bacterial strains Staphylococcus areus, Escherichia coli and fungal strains Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger. The metal complexes inhibit growth of bacteria to a greater extent than the ligand.  相似文献
