We consider viscous incompressible fluid motions on two-dimensionaltori. Unlike many papers which treat the cases where the basicflow is a parallel flow, we consider here the case where theflow pattern is rhombic. We numerically compute the bifurcatingsolutions and find that (1) the bifurcating branch is a transcriticalone, (2) on one side of the branch, the solution displays asharp interior layer in the inviscid limit, and (3) on the otherside of the branch, the solutions in the inviscid limit do notpossess an interior layer.  相似文献

Shadow systems are often used to approximate reaction-diffusion systems when one of the diffusion rates is large. In this paper, we study the global existence and blow-up phenomena for shadow systems. Our results show that even for these fundamental aspects, there are serious discrepancies between the dynamics of the reaction-diffusion systems and that of their corresponding shadow systems.  相似文献

The initial-boundary value problem for semilinear wave equation systems with a strong dissipative term in bounded domain is studied. The existence of global solutions for this problem is proved by using potential well method, and the exponential decay of global solutions is given through introducing an appropriate Lyapunov function. Meanwhile, blow-up of solutions in the unstable set is also obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider initial boundary value problem of the generalized Boussinesq equation with nonlinear interior source and boundary absorptive terms. We establish firstly the local existence of solutions by standard Galerkin method. Then we prove both the global existence of the solution and a general decay of the energy functions under some restrictions on the initial data. We also prove a blow-up result for solutions with positive and negative initial energy respectively.  相似文献

In this paper we study qualitative properties of boundary blow-up solutions to some semilinear elliptic cooperative systems in bounded non-convex domains. In particular, by a careful adaptation of the celebrated moving plane procedure of Alexandrov–Serrin, we deduce symmetry and monotonicity results for blow-up solutions for this class of systems.  相似文献

We investigate the confinement properties of bounded, nonnegative, compactly supported vortices of axisymmetric incompressible Euler flows without swirl. We show that along one direction of the symmetry axis, its support can grow no faster than O[(t log t)1/2]. The rate at which it approaches the symmetry axis is also estimated. Together with the result of Maffei–Marchioro on the radial growth rate of the support, it is contained in a slowly expanding tubular region. This paper is concerned with the initial boundary value problem of a class of pseudo-parabolic equation $u_t - \triangle u - \triangle u_t + u = f(u)$ with an exponential nonlinearity. The eigenfunction method and the Galerkin method are used to prove the blow-up, the local existence and the global existence of weak solutions. Moreover, we also obtain other properties of weak solutions by the eigenfunction method.  相似文献

The blow-up solutions of the Cauchy problem for the Davey-Stewartson system, which is a model equation in the theory of shallow water waves, are investigated. Firstly, the existence of the ground state for the system derives the best constant of a Gagliardo-Nirenberg type inequality and the variational character of the ground state. Secondly, the blow-up threshold of the Davey-Stewartson system is developed in R3. Thirdly, the mass concentration is established for all the blow-up solutions of the system in R2. Finally, the existence of the minimal blow-up solutions in R2 is constructed by using the pseudo-conformal invariance. The profile of the minimal blow-up solutions as tT (blow-up time) is in detail investigated in terms of the ground state.  相似文献

The aim of the study is to examine the stagnation point flow of a dusty Casson fluid over a stretching sheet with thermal radiation and buoyancy effects. The governing boundary layer equations are represented by a system of partial differential equation. After applying suitable similarity transformations, the resulting boundary layer equations are solved numerically using the Runge Kutta Fehlberg fourth-fifth order method (RKF-45 method). The behaviors of velocity, temperature and concentration profiles of fluid and dusty particles with respect to change in fluid particle interaction parameter, Casson paramter, Grashof number, radiation parameter, Prandtl number, number density, thermal equilibrium time, relaxation time, specific heat of fluid and dusty particles, ratio of diffusion coefficients, Schmidt number and Eckert number are analysed graphically and discussed. Our computed results interpret that velocity distribution decays for higher estimation of Casson parameter while temperature distribution shows increasing behavior for larger radiation parameter.  相似文献

This paper investigates the nonlinear boundary value problem, resulting from the exact reduction of the Navier–Stokes equations for unsteady laminar boundary layer flow caused by a stretching surface in a quiescent viscous incompressible fluid. We prove existence of solutions for all values of the relevant parameters and provide unique results in the case of a monotonic solution. The results are obtained using a topological shooting argument, which varies a parameter related to the axial shear stress. To solve this equation, a numerical method is proposed based on a rational Chebyshev functions spectral method. Using the operational matrices of derivative, we reduced the problem to a set of algebraic equations. We consider a robust estimator (t-type regression estimator) of multiple linear regression model by maximizing marginal likelihood of a scaled t-type error t-distribution. The marginal likelihood can also be applied to the de-correlated response when the within-subject correlation can be consistently estimated from an initial estimate of the model based on the independent working assumption.
