The magnetic properties of the Nd0.5Gd0.5Fe3(BO3)4 single crystal have been studied in principal crystallographic directions in magnetic fields to 90 kG in the temperature range 2–300 K; in addition, the heat capacity has been measured in the range 2–300 K. It has been found that, below the Néel temperature T N = 32 K down to 2 K, the single crystal exhibits an easy-plane antiferromagnetic structure. A hysteresis has been detected during magnetization of the crystal in the easy plane in fields of 1.0–3.5 kG, and a singularity has been found in the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility in the easy plane at a temperature of 11 K in fields B < 1 kG. It has been shown that the singularity is due to appearance of the hysteresis. The origin of the magnetic properties of the crystal near the hysteresis has been discussed.  相似文献

The effect of a magnetic field on the temperature dependence of thermal expansion of Ni2.08Mn0.96Ga0.96 alloy in the range of structural-phase transformation is investigated. It is found that, when the sample is cooled in a magnetic field with an intensity of 110 kA/m, it shortens by 0.21% more strongly than upon cooling in the absence of the magnetic field. The additional shortening of the sample under the action of the magnetic field depends on the intensity of the magnetic field applied to the sample.  相似文献

“Zero field”-Mössbauer and magnetization measurements have been performed on an amorphous Fe76Mo8Cu1B15 alloy in the temperature range of (10-340) K. The room-temperature Mössbauer spectrum exhibits magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole interactions. At approximately 306 K, the magnetic interactions vanish and the alloy shows fully paramagnetic behavior. On the other hand, the relative representation of paramagnetic component becomes weak with decreasing temperature and below 220 K the magnetic dipole interactions prevail. Below this temperature an anomaly in the low-temperature dependencies of ac susceptibility and of magnetization, measured during cooling the specimen from 340 K down to 20 K is observed. The anomaly on the magnetization curve vanishes in the field of 200 Oe.  相似文献

The effect of heat treatment over the range from room temperature to 500°C on the elastic properties of a bulk amorphous Pd40Cu30Ni10P20 alloy was studied. It is shown that the increase in the shear modulus under crystallization of the alloy is two-staged and that the most significant increase in the modulus occurs at the second stage. The obtained results are compared to the x-ray structural data. It is also found that the density characteristics of the as-cast material change very slightly during the transformation from the amorphous to the crystal state, with the density decreasing slightly due to crystallization.  相似文献

The magnetic linear birefringence and the magnetic susceptibility of Yb3Ga5O12 gallate garnet was investigated experimentally in the temperature range 78–295 K. It was shown that, in this temperature range, the magnetic linear birefringence of the garnet studied depends linearly on inverse temperature 1/T. The magnitude of this effect is determined only by the part of the crystal magnetization that is due to the difference in the thermal population of the ground state of the Yb3+ ion rather than the total magnetization. The results obtained are interpreted within the microscopic theory. According to this theory, the magnetic linear birefringence is determined by the quadrupole moment of the magnetoactive ion, which is induced by an external magnetic field.  相似文献

The magnetic and electrical properties of metallic glasses with the general formula Fe85-xCoxB15 were investigated over a large temperature range to study their concentration-dependent physical parameters. All of the samples investigated (x=17,21,30, and 40) were soft ferromagnets with coercive fields Hc1 Oe and high Curie temperatures slightly above 1200 K. The temperature-dependent magnetization behaved irregularly, and exhibited hysteresis during heating and subsequent cooling through the Curie temperature. The variation of the magnetization with temperature demonstrates that one or more phase transformations (crystallization) occurred in the course of the heating. The electrical resistivities exhibited positive temperature coefficients and minima at temperatures below 50 K. We did not observe a nonmonotonic variation of the magnetic and electrical properties with a monotonic change of the Fe85-xCoxB15 composition that would correlate with the earlier proposed formation of strong nanoclusters in the vicinity of particular stoichiometrically close Fe:Co ratios. The good soft magnetic characteristics make the Fe85-xCoxB15 metal glasses promising candidates for engineering materials in inductive applications. PACS 71.23.Cq; 75.75.+a  相似文献

The acoustical, resistive, and magnetic properties of a La0.75Sr0.25MnO3 lanthanum manganite single crystal are investigated in the temperature range involving the second-order magnetic phase transition. The acoustical measurements are performed by the pulse-echo method in the frequency range 14–90 MHz. It is found that, as the temperature decreases, the velocity of a longitudinal acoustic wave propagating along the [111] axis in the single crystal drastically increases at temperatures below the critical point of the magnetic phase transition. No dispersion of the acoustic velocity is revealed. A sharp increase in the acoustic velocity is accompanied by the appearance of an acoustical absorption peak. The observed effects are discussed with due regard for the interaction of acoustic waves with the magnetic moments of the manganese ions.  相似文献

The local magnetic and valence states of impurity iron ions in the rhombohedral La0.75Sr0.25Co0.98 57Fe0.02O3 perovskite were studied using Mössbauer spectroscopy in the temperature range 87–293 K. The Mössbauer spectra are described by a single doublet at 215–293 K. The spectra contained a paramagnetic and a ferromagnetic component at 180–212 K and only a broad ferromagnetic sextet at T < 180 K. The results of the studies showed that, over the temperature range 87–295 K, the iron ions are in a single (tetrahedral) state with a valence of +3. In the temperature range 180–212 K, two magnetic states of Fe3+ ions were observed, one of which is in magnetically ordered microregions and the other, in paramagnetic microregions; these states are due to atomic heterogeneity. In the magnetically ordered microregions in the temperature range 87–212 K, the magnetic state of the iron ions is described well by a single state with an average spin S = 1.4 ± 0.2 and a magnetic moment μ(Fe) = 2.6 ± 0.4μ B .  相似文献

Phase transformations in a Ni2.14Mn0.81Fe0.05Ga alloy in different structural states are studied from the temperature dependences of its electrical resistivity. The dependences obtained indicate that, in the coarse-grained state, this alloy undergoes two structural phase transformations: intermartensitic modulation transformation and martensite-austenite transformation. In the nanocrystalline state, these transformations are absent. The recrystallization of a nanocrystalline sample at 773 K for 30 min results in the martensite-austenite transformation; however, the phase transformation related to a change in the martensite modulation period does not occur in this state. The resistivity is shown to depend on the structural state of the alloy.  相似文献

The conditions of synthesizing a new Ag6SnS4Br2 compound were studied. The crystallographic parameters of the unit cell were determined as follows: space group Pnma, a=6.67050(10) Å, b=7.82095(9) Å, c=23.1404(3) Å, and Z=4. The total electrical conductivity and its ionic component were measured by a dc probe method in the temperature range 210–380 K. Kinks in the conductivity curve and the differential thermogram of heating the alloy were revealed at 235 K. It was concluded that the mass and charge transfers in the compacted Ag6SnS4Br2 alloy powder have an intragrain character.  相似文献

The temperature dependences of the magnetic properties and the magnetoimpedance effect of soft magnetic nanocrystalline Fe73.5Si16.5B6Nb3Cu1 alloy ribbons are studied in the temperature range 24–160°C. A high temperature sensitivity of the impedance and the magnetoimpedance effect of the ribbons are detected in the ac frequency range 0.1–50 MHz. At an ac frequency of 50 MHz, the change in the impedance reaches 0.2 Ω/°C (0.5%/°C) in the temperature range 85–160°C. When the temperature increases, a monotonically decreasing character of the dependence of the magnetoimpedance effect on the applied magnetic field changes into a dependence having an increasing initial segment. The effect of temperature on the magnetoimpedance properties of the soft magnetic nanocrystalline ribbons is shown to result from temperature-induced changes in their electrical conductivity, magnetization, and effective magnetic anisotropy.  相似文献

Measurements of magnetic and transport properties were performed on needle-shaped single crystals of Ce12Fe57.5As41 and La12Fe57.5As41. The availability of a complete set of data enabled a side-by-side comparison between these two rare earth compounds. Both compounds exhibited multiple magnetic orders within 2–300 K and metamagnetic transitions at various fields. Ferromagnetic transitions with Curie temperatures of 100 and 125 K were found for Ce12Fe57.5As41 and La12Fe57.5As41, respectively, followed by antiferromagnetic type spin reorientations near Curie temperatures. The magnetic properties underwent complex evolution in the magnetic field for both compounds. An antiferromagnetic phase transition at about 60 K and 0.2 T was observed merely for Ce12Fe57.5As41. The field-induced magnetic phase transition occurred from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic structure. A strong magnetocrystalline anisotropy was evident from magnetization measurements of Ce12Fe57.5As41. A temperature-field phase diagram was present for these two rare earth systems. In addition, a logarithmic temperature dependence of electrical resistivity was observed in the two compounds within a large temperature range of 150–300 K, which is rarely found in 3D-based compounds. It may be related to Kondo scattering described by independent localized Fe 3d moments interacting with conduction electrons.  相似文献

The magnetic nanoparticles of La0.75Sr0.25MnO3 perovskite manganite with a controlled size were prepared via sol–gel procedure, followed by thermal treatment and subsequent mechanical processing of the resulting raw product. The prepared materials were structurally studied by the XRD and TEM methods and probed by DC magnetic measurements. The nanoparticles of the mean crystallite sizes 11–40 nm exhibit T C in the range of ≈310–347 K and the sample possessing 20-nm crystallites was identified as the most suitable for hyperthermia experiments. In order to obtain a colloidally stable suspension and prevent toxic effects, the selected magnetic cores were further encapsulated into silica shell using tetraethoxysilane. The detailed magnetic studies were focused on the comparison of the raw product, the bare nanoparticles after mechanical processing and the silica-coated nanoparticles, dealing also with effects of size distribution and magnetic interactions. The heating experiments were carried out in an AC field of frequencies 100 kHz–1 MHz and amplitude 3.0–8.9 kA m−1 on water dispersions of the samples, and the generated heat was deduced from their warming rate taking into account experimentally determined thermal losses into surroundings. The experiments demonstrate that the heating efficiency of the coated nanoparticles is generally higher than that of the bare magnetic cores. It is also shown that the aggregation of the bare nanoparticles increases heating efficiency at least in a certain concentration range.  相似文献

The transformation of a domain structure and technical magnetization of the Tb0.2Y2.8Fe5O12 single crystal in the temperature range of the spontaneous orientational phase transition have been investigated by the magneto-optical method. It has been shown that the phase transition is extended in a certain temperature range in which domains of the low-temperature and high-temperature magnetic phases coexist. It has been found that the evolution of the domain configuration in the temperature range of spin reorientation substantially depends on the presence of mechanical stresses in the crystal. Anomalies in the temperature dependences of the coercivity and magneto-optical susceptibility of the crystal due to the transformation of its domain structure during the phase transition have been revealed. The experimental results have been interpreted within the existing theory of orientational phase transitions in cubic crystals.  相似文献

The magnetocaloric effect (MCE) and the magnetostriction in the Ni49.3Mn40.4In10.3 Heusler alloy have been measured in ac magnetic fields to 8 T. It is shown that the contributions of the magnetic and structural subsystems to MCE have opposite signs; in this case, the contribution of the magnetic subsystem is dominant. The anomalous temperature dependence of the magnetostriction during the magnetostructural phase transition (PT) is explained by competition of the processes of growing austenite phase nuclei and the striction processes in them.  相似文献

Single crystals of the Tb0.75Ho0.25Fe3(BO3)4 ferroborate have been grown by the group method from a solution–melt based on bismuth trimolybdate. The magnetic and magnetoelectric properties of the ferroborate single crystals have been investigated in the temperature range from 4.2 to 300 K and in magnetic fields up to 9 T. Magnetically, this material is an antiferromagnet with the Néel temperature T N = 38.8 K and easy-axis anisotropy. The magnitude of the magnetoelectric polarization has been found to be more than 1.5–2.0 times greater than the sum of the polarizations induced by the magnetic field for the ferroborates TbFe3(BO3)4 and HoFe3(BO3)4 taken in the corresponding shares.  相似文献

The contribution of clusters of different sizes to magnetism and the switching of electron scattering mechanisms in amorphous Fe67Cr18B15 alloy during ion Ar+ irradiation is studied. The cluster magnetism is found to be related to the presence of clusters of the following two types: large α-(Fe, Cr) clusters of size D = 150–250 Å and small (D = 40–80 Å) clusters in a random intercluster medium. The generation of small ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic clusters during ion irradiation leads to the formation of cluster glass, which affects the electrical properties of the alloy and causes a magnetic frustration. The temperature dependence of the barrier height is shown to characterize the magnetic state of the alloy in low fields. On the whole, the temperature dependence of the order parameter is a universal characteristic of the system. The temperature dependence of resistivity of initial alloys in the temperature range 98–300 K (ρ(T) ∝ T2) is determined by electron scattering by quantum defects, and the transition into a ferromagnetic state is revealed when the derivative ?ρ/?TT is analyzed. The increase in resistivity and the relation ρ ∝ T1/2 in strongly inhomogeneous samples after irradiation at a dose Φ = 1.5 × 1018 ions/cm2 are caused by weak localization effects, and the transition to a ferromagnetic state becomes obvious when the derivative ?ρ/?T ∝ T–1/2 is considered. Irradiation by fluence Φ = 3 × 1018 ions/cm2 induces a giant (twofold) increase in the alloy density, restores the ferromagnetism of large clusters, decreases the resistivity by 37%, and restores the relation ρ(T) ∝ T2, which results from the overlapping of the irradiation-induced small clusters when their concentration increases and from an increase in the alloy density. The overlapping of clusters lowers the barrier height and decreases the sensitivity of the alloy to an applied field. The relation ρ(T) ∝ T2 is valid for the entire temperature range T = 2–300 K because of the partial screening of the magnetic moments of large clusters by a medium having the properties of cluster glass.  相似文献

The structure and properties of a polycrystalline Ni–Mn–In Heusler alloy have been studied after a plastic deformation by upsetting. An analysis of points of a martensitic and magnetic phase transformations shows that the martensite transformation takes place at temperatures lower than the Curie point. At high temperatures in the range 930–1110 K the alloy undergoes the phase transformation of ordered phase L21 to disordered phase B2, and the melting temperature of the alloy is 1245 K. The flow curves of the alloy cylindrical samples at temperatures 773, 873, and 973 K have been built. An analysis of the alloy microstructure after upsetting at a temperature of 773 K leads to the conclusion that many macrocracks are initiated in the sample. The treatment at 873 and 973 K causes a fragmentation of the grains with grain sizes from several to several dozen micrometers. However, the upsetting at 873 K leads to insignificant scatter in the grain sizes, and the microstructure is more homogeneous and worked out.  相似文献

Polycrystalline samples of SrFe2/3W1/3O3 (SFWO) ceramic were obtained by solid-phase reactions with subsequent sintering using conventional ceramic technology. X-ray diffraction analysis showed that at room temperature, the SFWO ceramic is single-phase and has a perovskite-type structure with tetragonal symmetry and parameters a = 3.941(9) Å, c = 3.955(6) Å, and c/a = 1.0035. In studying the magnetic properties and the Mössbauer effect in SFWO ceramics, it is found that the material is a ferrimagnet, and the iron ions are only in the valence state of Fe3+. It is suggested that in the temperature range of T = 150–210°C, a smeared phase transition from a cubic (paraelectric) phase to a tetragonal (ferroelectric) phase takes place in SFWO with decreasing temperature.  相似文献

This paper presents the results of the study of the domain structure of barium titanate crystals in a wide temperature range including the Curie point (TC) using the polarization-optical method in the reflected light and the force microscopy of the piezoelectric response. It is shown that a new a–c domain structure forms during cyclic heating of the crystal above TC and subsequent cooling to the ferroelectric phase. The role of uncompensated charges appeared on the crystal surface during the phase transition and their influence on the formation of the domain structure during cooling are discussed.  相似文献
