Let p={pv} be a fixed sequence of complex numbers. Define \(p_n : = \mathop \Sigma \limits_{\nu = o}^n p_\nu \) and suppose that \(p_{m_k } \ne o\) for a subsequence M={mk} of nonnegative integers. The matrix A=(αkv) with the elements $$\alpha _{k\nu } = p_\nu /p_{m_k } if o \leqslant \nu \leqslant m_k ,\alpha _{k\nu } = oif \nu > m_k $$ generates a summability method (R,p,M) which is a refinement of the well known Riesz methods. The (R,p,M) methods have been introduced in [4]. In the present paper we are concerned with the summability of the geometric series \(\mathop \Sigma \limits_{\nu = o}^n z^\nu \) by (R,p,M) methods. We prove the following theorem. Suppose G is a simply connected domain with \(\{ z:|z|< 1\} \subset G,1 \varepsilon | G \) . Then there exists a universal, regular (R,p,M) method having the following properties: (1) \(\mathop \Sigma \limits_{\nu = o}^\infty z^\nu \) is compactly summable (R,p,M) to \(\tfrac{1}{{1 - z}}\) on G. (2) For every compact set B?¯Gc which has a connected complement and for every function f which is continuous on B and analytic in its interior there exists a subsequence M(B,f) of M such that \(\mathop \Sigma \limits_{\nu = o}^\infty z^\nu \) is uniformly summable (R,p,M(B,f)) to f(z) on B. (3) For every open set U?Gc which has simply connected components in ? and for every function f which is analytic on U there exists a subsequence M(U,f) of M such that \(\mathop \Sigma \limits_{\nu = o}^\infty z^\nu \) is compactly summable (R,p,M(U,f)) to f(z) on U.  相似文献

In the literature there are known homogeneous polynomialsP(x 1,...,x n) with real coefficients, for which \(P(x_1 ,...,x_n ) \leqslant P(\bar x,...,\bar x)\) for allx i≥0, and \(\bar x = (x_1 + ... + x_n )/n\) . This paper gives two theorems, which lead to new polynomials of this kind.  相似文献

The structure of the set \(\mathfrak{D} = \{ D(x),x \in M\}\) is studied. It is shown that $$\mathfrak{D} \cap (3 + \sqrt 3 ,(5 + 3\sqrt 3 )/2) = \{ D(x^{(n,3} )\} _{n = 0}^\infty \nearrow (5 + 3\sqrt 3 )/2,$$ where \(x^{(n,3)} = [\overline {3;(1,2)_n ,1} ].\) This yields for \(\mu = \inf \{ z,\mathfrak{D} \supset (z, + \infty )\}\) (“origin of the ray”) the following lower bound: μ?(5+3√3)/2=5.0n>(5 + 3/3)/2=5.098.... Suppose a∈n. Put \(M(a) = \{ x \in M,\overline {\mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } } x_n = a\}\) , \(\mathfrak{D}(a) = \{ D(x),x \in M(a)\}\) . The smallest limit point of \(\mathfrak{D}(a)(a \geqslant 2)\) is found. The structure of (a) is studied completely up to the smallest limit point and elucidated to the right of it.  相似文献

Let \(\bar B^* \) be a separable reduced (abelian)p-group which is torsion complete. We ask whether for \(G \subseteq \bar B^* \) there is \(H \subseteq _{pr} \bar B^* ,H[p] = G[p]\) ,H[p]=G[p],H not isomorphic toG. IfG is the sum of cyclic groups or is torsion complete, the answer is easily no. For otherG, we prove that the answer is yes assuming G.C.H. Even without G.C.H. the answer is yes if the density character ofG is equal to Min n|p nG|, i.e., $$\mathop {Min}\limits_{n< \omega } |p^n G| = \mathop {Min}\limits_m \mathop \Sigma \limits_{n > m} |(p^n G)[p]/(p^{n + 1} G)[p]|$$ Of course, instead of two non-isomorphic we can get many, but we do not deal much with this.  相似文献

What is the densest packing of points in an infinite strip of widthw, where any two of the points must be separated by distance at least I? This question was raised by Fejes-Tóth a number of years ago. The answer is trivial for \(w \leqslant \sqrt 3 /2\) and, surprisingly, it is not difficult to prove [M2] for \(w = n\sqrt 3 /2\) , wheren is a positive integer, that the regular triangular lattice gives the optimal packing. Kertész [K] solved the case \(w< \sqrt 2 \) . Here we fill the first gap, i.e., the maximal density is determined for \(\sqrt 3 /2< w \leqslant \sqrt 3 \) .  相似文献

The class \(B_{\varrho _1 } \) is introduced and thoroughly studied in the paper. (z) is a Mittag—Leffler function and? 1>?>1/2. The significance of the class \(B_{\varrho _1 } \) is confirmed by the following theorem. The fraction of energy transferred to the neutral pions ( \( K_{\pi ^ \circ } \) ), in an interaction of high energy (> 20 GeV) N-particles (nucleons and pions) with atomic nuclei, is estimated from the data collected, using a total absorption spectrometer (TAS) and a multiplate cloud chamber. The average value of \( K_{\pi ^ \circ } \) ( \( \bar K_{\pi ^ \circ } \) ) is found to be 0·12 ± 0·01 in the energy range 20–100 GeV (ē0 = 35 GeV) and 0·19 ± 0·02 in the region of > 100 GeV (ē0 = 206 GeV). The value of \( \bar K_{\pi ^ \circ } \) obtained in different experiments and its dependence on the primary energy are discussed. An increase in \( \bar K_{\pi ^ \circ } \) in pion-nucleus collisions with the energy of the pion or an increase in the ratio of pions to protons, at 800 gm./cm.2, in the energy range of a few tens of GeV to a few hundred GeV or both is to be invoked to explain the energy dependence of \( \bar K_{\pi ^ \circ } \) observed in this investigation.  相似文献

For solutionsuH 1(B 1 + ) of systems of the form $\frac{d}{{dx_\alpha }}a_\alpha ^k (u_x ) = 0, k \leqslant {\rm N}$ , it is proved that the derivatives ux are Hölder in $B_1^ + \cup \Gamma _1 )\backslash \Sigma $ , where Hn?p(σ)=0,p>2. It is shown for continuous solutions u from H1(B1/+) of systems $\frac{d}{{dx_\alpha }}a_\alpha ^k (u,u_x ) = 0$ that the derivatives ux are Hölder on the set $(B_1^ + \cup \Gamma _1 )\backslash \Sigma , dim_\kappa \Sigma \leqslant n - 2$ . Under conditions on Γ1 and the coefficientsk(z), d(x,y,z) we prove the existence of weak solutions for the boundary value problemL[u]=f inG with \(u|_{\Gamma _0 \cup \Gamma _1 } = 0\) . We show that such a theorem is true iff both $\mathop {\lim }\limits_{\chi \to \infty } W(\chi )\int_0^\chi {W^{ - 1} } = 0$ and $\mathop {\lim }\limits_{\chi \to \infty } W^{ - 1} (\chi )\int_\chi ^\infty W = 0,$ with analogous limits asx→?∞. In particular,W(x)=exp(?|x|) does not admit a Jackson theorem of this type. We also construct weights that admit anL 1 but not anL Jackson theorem (or conversely).  相似文献

Этот рез ультат касается суммируемо сти функционального ряда почти всюду при слабых пред положениях. В частности, он примен им к суммируемости по Чезаро и по Риссу. Мы рассматриваемd-кр атный ряд $$\mathop \sum \limits_{k_1 = 0}^\infty \cdots \mathop \sum \limits_{k_d = 0}^\infty c_{k_1 ,...,k_d } f_{k_1 ,...,k_d } (x), \mathop \sum \limits_{k_1 = 0}^\infty \cdots \mathop \sum \limits_{k_d = 0}^\infty c_{k_1 ,...,k_d }^2< \infty $$ и предполагается, что функции \(f_{k_1 ,...,k_d } (x)\) интегрируе мы по пространству с полож ительной мерой и имеют почти вс юду ограниченные фун кции Лебега для метода суммирова ния Т.
