There has been a great deal of interest over the last two decades on the fractional quantum Hall effect, a novel quantum many-body liquid state of strongly correlated two-dimensional electronic systems in a strong perpendicular magnetic field. The most pronounced fractional quantum Hall states occur at odd denominator filling factors of the lowest Landau level and are described by the Laughlin wave function. It is well known that exact closed-form solutions for many-body wave functions, including the Laughlin wave function, are generally very rare and hard to obtain. In this work we present some exact results corresponding to small systems of electrons in the fractional quantum Hall regime at odd denominator filling factors. Use of Jacobi coordinates is the key tool that facilitates the exact calculation of various quantities. Expressions involving integrals over many variables are considerably simplified with the help of Jacobi coordinates allowing us to calculate exactly various quantities corresponding to systems with several electrons.  相似文献

In a recent article we showed that weak disorder does not change the ground states of a system of interacting electrons on a torus in a strong magnetic field at a filling factorf 0, if the denominator off 0 is odd and small. At filling factors near but not equalf 0 disorder becomes important. We show that the ground states and the low excited states of such a system may be constructed from the ground states atf 0 through adding localized electrons or holes. These states have the same degeneracy as the ground states atf 0 and lead to the same value of the Hall conductance.  相似文献

We investigate pairing symmetry in an Abrikosov vortex and vortex lattice. It is shown that the Cooper pair wave function at the center of an Abrikosov vortex with vorticity m has a different parity with respect to frequency from that in the bulk if m is an odd number, while it has the same parity if m is an even number. As a result, in a conventional vortex with m = 1, the local density of states at the Fermi energy has a maximum (minimum) at the center of the vortex core in an even (odd)-frequency superconductor. In the vortex lattice of s-wave superconductor, we find that only odd-frequency pairing is present at the core centers, while at the midpoint of the vortex lines, only even-frequency pairing exists. Thus, the odd and even-frequency pairings also form the lattice in the vortex lattice state. We also propose a scanning tunneling microscope experiment using a superconducting tip to explore odd-frequency superconductivity.  相似文献

We report on the experimental demonstration of negative coupling constants between defect guides in a waveguide lattice. We find that coupling can only be negative if the defects are negative and an odd number of lattice sites is between the defect guides.  相似文献

Quantum teleportation is important for quantum communication. We propose a protocol that uses a partially entangled Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state for single hop teleportation. Quantum teleportation will succeed if the sender makes a Bell state measurement, and the receiver performs the Hadamard gate operation, applies appropriate Pauli operators, introduces an auxiliary particle, and applies the corresponding unitary matrix to recover the transmitted state.We also present a protocol to realize multiple teleportation of partially entangled GHZ state without an auxiliary particle. We show that the success probability of the teleportation is always 0 when the number of teleportations is odd. In order to improve the success probability of a multihop, we introduce the method used in our single hop teleportation, thus proposing a multiple teleportation protocol using auxiliary particles and a unitary matrix. The final success probability is shown to be improved significantly for the method without auxiliary particles for both an odd or even number of teleportations.  相似文献

The time evolution of spontaneous decay of a two-level atom in one dimension photonic crystals is investigated with three different methods : ( 1 ) using the Markovian approximation, (2) using the constant approximation, and (3) without using any of the two approximations. The second and third methods are Non-Markovian, which yield similar results. The second method gives us a clear physical picture of the effect of the reflected field. The Non- Markovian processes due to the reflected field have great influence on the atomic decay mainly within one tenth of an optical cycle, and reach steady state influence fter one optical cycle. The result of Markovian approximation gives almost the same result of the other two methods after one optical cycle, but misses the details within the one optical cycle.  相似文献

Electronic transport through a one-dimensional quantum dot array is theoretically studied. In such a system both electron reservoirs of continuum states couple with the individual component quantum dots of the array arbitrarily. When there are some dangling quantum dots in the array outside the dot(s) contacting the leads, the electron tunneling through the quantum dot array is wholly forbidden if the electron energy is just equal to the molecular energy levels of the dangling quantum dots, which is called as antiresonance of electron tunneling. Accordingly, when the chemical potential of the reservoir electrons is aligned with the electron levels of all quantum dots, the linear conductance at zero temperature vanishes if there are odd number dangling quantum dots; Otherwise, it is equal to 2e2/h due to resonant tunneling if the total number of quantum dots in the array is odd. This odd–even parity is independent of the interdot and the lead–dot coupling strength.  相似文献

The microscopic mechanism of the identical odd-and even-mass number nuclear bands in normally deformed rare-earth nuclei was investigated using the particle-number conserving (PNC) method for treating nuclear pairing correlation. It was found that the odd particle of an odd-A identical band always occupied a cranked low j and high Ω Nilsson orbital (e.g. proton [404]7/2, [402]5/2). On the contrary, if the odd particle occupies an intruder high j orbital (e.g. neutron [633]7/2, proton [514]9/2), the moment of inertia of the odd-A band was much larger than that of neighboring even-even ground state band. The observed variation of moment of inertia (below bandcrossing) was reproduced quite well by the PNC calculation, in which no free parameter was involved. The strengths of monopole and Y20 quadrupole interactions were determined by the experimental odd even differences in binding energy and bandhead moment of inertia.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the decoherence of quantum excitation (photon-added) even /odd coherent states, \(((\hat a{^{\dagger }})^{m} \left | {\alpha _ \pm } \right \rangle )\), in a thermal environment by investigating the variation of negative part of the Wigner quasidistribution function vs. the rescaled time. For this purpose, at first we obtain the time-dependent Wigner function corresponding to the mentioned states in the framework of standard master equation. Then, the time evolution of the Wigner function associated with photon-added even /odd coherent states, as well as the number of added photons m are analysed. It is shown that, in both states, the negative part of the Wigner function decreases with time. By deriving the threshold value of the rescaled time for single photon-added even /odd coherent states, it is also found that, if the rescaled time exceeds the threshold value, the associated Wigner function becomes positive, i.e., the decoherence occurs completely.  相似文献

We consider a vertex model on the simple-quartic lattice defined by line graphs on the lattice for which there is always an odd number of lines incident at a vertex. This is the odd 8-vertex model which has eight possible vertex configurations. We establish that the odd 8-vertex model is equivalent to a staggered8-vertex model. Using this equivalence we deduce the solution of the odd8-vertex model when the weights satisfy a free-fermion condition. It is found that the free-fermion model exhibits no phase transitions in the regime of positive vertex weights. We also establish the complete equivalence of the free-fermion odd 8-vertex model with the free-fermion 8-vertex model solved by Fan and Wu. Our analysis leads to several Ising model representations of thefree-fermion model with pure 2-spin interactions.  相似文献

An adaptive dynamic state feedback controller for stabilizing and tracking unknown steady states of dynamical systems is proposed. We prove that the steady state can never be stabilized if the system and controller in sum have an odd number of real positive eigenvalues. For two-dimensional systems, this topological limitation states that only an unstable focus or node can be stabilized with a stable controller, and stabilization of a saddle requires the presence of an unstable degree of freedom in a feedback loop. The use of the controller to stabilize and track saddle points (as well as unstable foci) is demonstrated both numerically and experimentally with an electrochemical Ni dissolution system.  相似文献

We study the entanglement in various fully gapped complex paired states of fermions in two dimensions, focusing on the entanglement spectrum (ES), and using the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) form of the ground-state wave function on a cylinder. Certain forms of the pairing functions allow a simple and explicit exact solution for the ES. In the weak-pairing phase of ?-wave paired spinless fermions (? odd), the universal low-lying part of the ES consists of |?| chiral Majorana fermion modes [or 2|?| (? even) for spin-singlet states]. For |?|>1, the pseudoenergies of the modes are split in general, but for all ? there is a zero-pseudoenergy mode at a zero wave vector if the number of modes is odd. This ES agrees with the perturbed conformal field theory of the edge excitations. For more general BCS states, we show how the entanglement gap diverges as a model pairing function is approached.  相似文献

We investigate some static and dynamic properties of harmonically trapped fermionic Tonks-Girardeau gases in tight de Broglie waveguides with attractive p-wave interactions induced by a Feshbach resonance. An exact solution for the one-body density matrix is analyzed in terms of its natural orbitals, with the surprising result that for odd, but not for even, numbers of fermions the maximally occupied orbital coincides with the ground harmonic oscillator orbital. A dynamical consequence of this is that when the interactions are turned off the on-axis density remains a maximum for an odd number of fermions, whereas a minimum develops for an even number.  相似文献

研究了双参数qs形变谐振子奇偶相干态中光场的高阶压缩特性,并用数值计算方法定量研究了形变参数q和s对这一特性的影响规律.结果表明,qs形变谐振子奇偶相干态均可能呈现奇次方阶压缩效应却无偶次方阶压缩效应,这与谐振子没有形变时的通常情况是不同的.当q和s取一定值时,在qs形变相干态中谐振子强度r2取值的一定范围内,这种反常特性的范围随着q偏离1越大s取值越小而变大.有关单参数q形变奇偶相干态的结论作为特例包含在本文的一般结论之中.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the behaviour of the geometric phase of a more generalized nonlinear system composed of an effective two-level system interacting with a single-mode quantized cavity field. Both the field nonlinearity and the atom-field coupling nonlinearity are considered. We find that the geometric phase depends on whether the index k is an odd number or an even number in the resonant case. In addition, we also find that the geometric phase may be easily observed when the field nonlinearity is not considered. The fractional statistical phenomenon appears in this system if the strong nonlinear atom-field coupling is considered. We have also investigated the geometric phase of an effective two-level system interacting with a two-mode quantized cavity field.  相似文献

Both the field nonlinearity and the atom--field coupling nonlinearity are considered. In this paper the even and odd nonlinear negative binomial states of the radiation field are introduced. These states interpolates between even (odd) number states and the even (odd) nonlinear coherent states. The Glauber second-order correlation function is calculated for these states. The squeezing phenomenon (normal and amplitude-squared squeezing), the quasi-probability distribution function Q-function, Wigner-function and the phase properties, are also discussed. Examination of the resonance fluorescence against the present state is given. It has been shown that the atomic inversion is sensitive to any variation in the even and odd nonlinear negative binomial number M and the nonlinearity parameter η.  相似文献
