使用飞秒时间分辨抽运-探测磁光Kerr光谱技术,实验研究了圆偏振光抽运面内磁化FePt和垂直磁化GdFeCo薄膜的磁化演化动力学,发现在时间延迟零点处均出现瞬态Kerr峰.分析了此Kerr峰的起源,指出此瞬态Kerr峰与铁磁性无关,可能起源于自由电子的顺磁磁化,而顺磁磁化的外磁场来自圆偏振抽运光的逆Faraday效应.基于顺磁磁化模型的计算结果支持此观点.基于此观点,逆Faraday效应感应的磁场脉冲宽度应该与激光脉冲宽度一致.  相似文献

We develop a theory of ultrafast light-induced magnetization dynamics in ferromagnetic semiconductors. We demonstrate magnetization control during femtosecond time scales via the interplay between nonlinear circularly polarized optical excitation, hole-spin damping, polarization dephasing, and Mn-hole-spin interactions. Our results show magnetization relaxation and precession for the duration of the optical pulse governed by the nonlinear optical polarizations and populations.  相似文献

This review summarizes the recent progress in the study of ultrafast nonthermal effects of light on magnetic materials. It is demonstrated that due to opto‐magnetic phenomena an intense 100 fs circularly polarized laser pulse acts on the spins similar to an equivalently short effective magnetic field pulse up to 1 T. The review shows that using such opto‐magnetic phenomena one may selectively excite different modes of magnetic resonance, realize quantum control of magnons, trigger magnetic phase transitions and switch spins on a subpicosecond time‐scale. All these findings open new insights into the understanding of ultrafast magnetic excitation and, considering recent progress in the development of compact ultrafast lasers, may provide new prospects for applications of ultrafast opto‐magnetic phenomena in magnetic storage and information processing technology.  相似文献

研究了近红外飞秒激光的偏振在太赫兹频率的超快调制.利用抽运-探测光谱技术,通过改变两个脉冲之间的延迟时间可以控制光脉冲的旋转角.在Li:NaTb(WO42磁光晶体中观察到探测光的偏振随延迟时间变化的高速振荡,振荡信号的中心频率为0.19 THz.这种超快偏振调制现象可以解释为,抽运-探测实验构置中,前向传播的抽运光诱导的光学克尔非线性引起被晶体远端表面所反射的背向传播的探测光脉冲偏振面的额外旋转.通过改变抽运光的圆偏振旋性可以控制探测光调制信号的相位和振幅.实验结果表明,非线性光学克尔效应可以作为一种全新的手段,在磁光晶体中实现近红外飞秒激光以太赫兹频率的超快偏振调控.这将在超快磁光调制器等全光器件中得以应用.实验结果将有助于偏振依赖的超快动力学过程的研究.  相似文献

Magnetic reversal of a ferromagnetic single-domain nanoparticle in the form of a disk contained in a multilayer nanostructure irradiated by linearly and circularly polarized picosecond laser pulses is modeled. It is shown that heating of the disk by the laser light causes a change in its direction of magnetization. This is accompanied by oscillations in the magnetization that decay over 1–16 ns. The frequencies of these oscillations lie in the range of 0.5–26 GHz. The main reason for the magnetic reversal of the disk is a change in the magnetic anisotropy energy during heating. The laser pulses also create a spin-polarized current and an inverse Faraday magneto-optical field in the structure, which influence the duration, amplitude, and frequency of the magnetization oscillations.  相似文献

We propose a method for high-density all-optical magnetic recording. Our analyses, based on the vector diffraction theory, show that owing to the inverse Faraday effect, circularly polarized laser pulses focused by a high numerical aperture (NA) lens can induce a small magnetization domain. For an example, the FWHM of the effective magnetization domain is 0.4646λ when NA=0.85. The magnetization direction is basically perpendicular to the surface of the optic-magneto film within the effective magnetization domain and the switching direction of magnetization can be controlled by the helicity of the incident circularly polarized light. These characteristics are useful to next-generation high-density all-optical magnetic storage.  相似文献

Ultrashort laser pulses have been used to study the effect of circularly polarized light on spins in the ferrimagnetic metal GdFeCo. By turning the sample into a multidomain state and thereby suppressing the observation of the heating effect of light, we have been able to demonstrate an ultrafast nonthermal excitation of spin waves with a phase that depends on the angular momentum of the photons. These results demonstrate the possibility of ultrafast coherent control of the magnetization in this metallic system.  相似文献

The time-resolved magneto-optical Kerr spectroscopy technique is used to study the ultrafast magnetization dynamics induced by femtosecond laser pulses in GdFeCo amorphous film. We study concretely the influence of the different pump fluence and the different external magnetic field on magnetization dynamics of ultrafast demagnetization, magnetization reversal and magnetization recovery. The pump fluence dependence magnetization dynamics shows that the degree of demagnetization, the degree of magnetization reversal and the time of magnetization recovery increase with pump fluence, which can be interpreted by the “three-temperature” model. The external magnetic field dependence magnetization dynamics shows that the rate of magnetization reversal increases with the external field, which accord with the magnetization reversal mechanism based on the reversed magnetic domain nucleation and domain-wall motion.  相似文献

中性原子的超精细能级在磁场中产生塞曼分裂 ,另外 ,左旋和右旋圆偏振光激发下原子的跃迁选择定则不同 ,因此 ,原子在超精细塞曼能级间的吸收谱峰相对无磁场条件下的吸收谱峰有一定的移动。利用这一点 ,验证了一种简单、灵活的方法对半导体激光器进行稳频 ,使激光器的线宽稳到小于 1MHz。通过对实验结果的分析 ,发现由左旋和右旋圆偏振光激发引起的原子吸收谱峰移动之和与饱和吸收峰半高宽相等时 ,稳频效果最好  相似文献

We demonstrate that intense laser pulses can be used to directly control the spins in ferrimagnetic garnet films. Through an ultrafast and nonthermal photomagnetic effect the magnetocrystalline anisotropy is modified to create a new long-lived equilibrium orientation for the magnetization. Simultaneously, the magnetization is rotated into this new state by precession in a strong transient optically generated magnetic field. All take place within the 100 fs duration of a single laser pulse, thus demonstrating the feasibility of photomagnetic switching on the femtosecond time scale.  相似文献

本文报道了一种基于激光抽运射频共振的铯原子磁力仪. 通过圆偏振光将铯原子抽运到暗态, 实现偏极化. 外磁场存在时, 原子磁矩将以拉莫尔频率绕外磁场进动. 在共振射频磁场的作用下, 原子被去极化而重新吸收光子. 通过探测出射光光谱可以测得拉莫尔频率进而得到外磁场的信息. 本文通过运用自制的894 nm 外腔半导体激光器, 建立了激光稳频装置和低噪声磁场测量环境, 实现了一种基于铯原子激光抽运射频共振的磁力仪. 通过磁力仪参数优化以及闭环测量, 磁力仪测量的外磁场达到了19 fT/Hz1/2的极限灵敏度和1.8 pT/Hz1/2的本征灵敏度, 空间分辨率小于2 cm. 关键词: 光抽运 塞曼效应 光探测磁共振 磁力仪  相似文献

In circularly polarized light the spins of the photons are aligned. When a short intense pulse of circularly polarized laser light is absorbed by a plasma, a torque is delivered initially to the electron species, resulting primarily in an opposing torque from an induced azimuthal electric field. This electric field, in general, has a curl and leads to the generation of an axial magnetic field. It also is the main means for transferring angular momentum to the ions. The time-dependent magnetic field has a magnitude proportional to the transverse gradient of the absorbed intensity but inversely proportional to the electron density, in contrast to earlier theories of the inverse Faraday effect.  相似文献

This Letter investigates all-optical magnetization switching from micromagnetic perspective. The influence of circularly polarized light on a magnetic sample was considered to be both directly through the inverse Faraday effect and indirectly aided by thermal induced effects by the laser beam. Dependence of all-optical switching on pulse duration, laser intensity and the magneto-optical susceptibility strength is studied. An important aspect of this investigation is the analysis of how the cooling process influences the successive switches, especially through limiting the successive writing time.  相似文献

超短超强激光与固体靶表面等离子体相互作用可以通过高次谐波的方式产生从极紫外到软X射线波段的相干辐射,获得飞秒甚至阿秒量级的超短脉冲,可用于观测原子或分子中的电子运动等超快动力学过程.本文实验研究了相对论圆偏振飞秒激光与固体靶相互作用的高次谐波产生过程,实验结果表明,在较大入射角下,圆偏振激光也可以有效地产生高次谐波辐射.通过预脉冲控制靶表面的预等离子体密度标长,发现高次谐波的产生效率随密度标长的增加而单调下降.进一步通过二维粒子模拟程序,分析了激光的偏振以及预等离子体密度标长对高次谐波产生的影响,很好地解释了实验观测结果.  相似文献

A remarkable effect of circular dichroism, i.e., a difference in photoelectron spectra produced by right and left circularly polarized light in two-color multiphoton ionization of atoms, is predicted for the case when the atom is ionized by an extreme ultraviolet or x-ray femtosecond pulse in the field of a strong infrared laser pulse, both pulses being circularly polarized. We show that the sidebands formed in the spectra exhibit different circular dichroism often of different signs both in angle-resolved and angle-integrated experimental conditions. The effect can be used for detecting and measuring circular polarization of x rays in a spectral range where other methods are not effective.  相似文献

The inverse Faraday effect, in which a magnetization is induced in a solution through which is passed a polarized light beam of arbitrary ellipticity, is discussed on the basis of the S-matrix formulation of optical birefringence. It is shown that the Faraday effect and the inverse Faraday effect are topologically identical problems of diagrammatic perturbation theory and so it follows automatically that the magnetization should be proportional to the Verdet constant. The optical Faraday effect is the circular birefringence induced by an intense circularly polarized beam of light propagated colinearly with the weak measuring beam: the electric vector of the circularly polarized beam interacts with the molecule in a way that resembles the interaction of a static magnetic field. The interrelations of these two effects and the normal Faraday effect the self-rotation of the polarization ellipse of an intense beam are discussed.  相似文献

实验研究了线偏振和圆偏振状态下的飞秒强激光脉冲在块状材料中的传输过程。不同偏振的激光脉冲在传输过程中得到了不同程度的光谱展宽,经色散补偿后,脉冲时域宽度均得到了压缩。详细分析了压缩脉冲的脉宽以及啁啾情况与入射激光脉冲能量之间的关系,比较了飞秒激光在线偏振及圆偏振情况下的不同压缩效果。在线偏振入射光情况下得到了最短21fs的压缩脉冲宽度,在圆偏振情况下得到的最短脉冲宽度为22fs。实验结果表明,这种光谱展宽与色散补偿方式对圆偏振光同样适用,而且圆偏振的入射激光将更有利于对更高能量的脉冲进行压缩。在色散补偿量相同的情况下,压缩效果随入射脉冲能量变化的规律符合理论估计。  相似文献

使用飞秒时间分辨抽运-探测磁光克尔光谱技术,研究了激光加热GdFeCo磁光薄膜跨越铁磁补偿温度时稀土-过渡金属(RE-TM)反铁磁交换耦合行为和超快磁化翻转动力学. 实验观察到由于跨越铁磁补偿温度、净磁矩携带者交换而引起的磁化翻转反常克尔磁滞回线以及在同向外磁场下,反常回线上大于和小于矫顽力部分的饱和磁化强度不同,显示出GdFeCo中RE与TM之间的非完全刚性反铁磁耦合. 在含有Al导热底层的GdFeCo薄膜上观测到饱和磁场下激光感应磁化态翻转及再恢复的完整超快动力学过程. 与剩磁态的激光感应超快退磁化过 关键词: 补偿温度 磁化翻转 反铁磁耦合 GdFeCo  相似文献
