We consider supersymmetric quantum mechanical systems in arbitrary dimensions on curved spaces with nontrivial gauge fields. The square of the Dirac operator serves as Hamiltonian. We derive a relation between the number of supercharges that exist and restrictions on the geometry of the underlying spaces as well as the admissible gauge field configurations. From the superalgebra with two or more real supercharges we infer the existence of integrability conditions and obtain a corresponding superpotential. This potential can be used to deform the supercharges and to determine zero modes of the Dirac operator. The general results are applied to the Kähler spaces CPn. 相似文献

It is shown, how, in the setting of Clifford bundles, the spin connection (or Dirac operator) may be obtained by averaging the Levi-Civita connection (or Kähler-Dirac operator) over the finite group generated by an orthonormal frame of the base manifold.The familiar covariance of the Dirac equation under a simultaneous transformation of spinors and matrix representations emerges very naturally in this scheme, which can also be applied when the manifold does not possess a spin structure. 相似文献

It is shown that under rather general assumptions on the character of the interaction of the field with an obstacle the scattering operator is invariant with respect to the eigenfunctions of the D'Alembert operator belonging to the zero eigenvalue. This situation makes it possible to write the field at points sufficiently far from the obstacle in the form of an expansion whose coefficients can be interpreted as matrix elements of the scattering operator in the representation of the eigenfunctions of the operator D. We give a derivation of the Dirac operator on the noncommutative 2-sphere within the framework of the bosonic fuzzy sphere
and define Connes' triple. It turns out that there are two different types of spectra of the Dirac operator and correspondingly
there are two classes of quantized algebras. As a result we obtain a new restriction on the Planck constant in Berezin's quantization.

We study Dirac operator zero-modes on a torus for gauge background with uniform field strengths. Under the basic translations of the torus coordinates the wave functions are subject to twisted periodic conditions. In suitable torus coordinates the zero-mode wave functions can be related to holomorphic functions of the complex torus coordinates. Half of the twisted boundary conditions for the holomorphic part of the zero-mode wave function can be made periodic or anti-periodic. The remaining half is until coordinate dependent but diagonal. We completely solve the twisted boundary conditions and construct the zero-mode wave functions. The chirality and the degeneracy of the zero-modes are uniquely determined by the gauge background and are consistent with the index theorem. 相似文献

General theorems on pin structures on products of manifolds and on homogeneous (pseudo-) Riemannian spaces are given and used to find explicitly all such structures on odd-dimensional real projective quadrics, which are known to be non-orientable (Cahen et al. 1993). It is shown that the product of two manifolds has a pin structure if and only if both are pin and at least one of them is orientable. This general result is illustrated by the example of the product of two real projective planes. It is shown how the Dirac operator should be modified to make it equivariant with respect to the twisted adjoint action of the Pin group. A simple formula is derived for the spectrum of the Dirac operator on the product of two pin manifolds, one of which is orientable, in terms of the eigenvalues of the Dirac operators on the factor spaces. 相似文献

An explicitly solvable model for tunnelling of relativistic spinless particles through a sphere is suggested. The model operator is constructed by an operator extensions theory method from the orthogonal sum of the Dirac operators on a semiaxis and on the sphere. The transmission coefficient is obtained. The dependence of the transmission coefficient on the particle energy has a resonant character. One observes pairs of the Breit–Wigner and the Fano resonances. The spectrum and eigenfunctions of the Frobenius-Perron operator induced by the tent map are discussed in detail. Special attention is paid to the case where the critical point of the map lies on an aperiodic trajectory and the differences from maps with a periodic critical trajectory are stressed. It is shown that the relevant eigenvalues of the spectrum are not sensitive to the aperiodicity of the critical trajectory. All other parts of the spectrum and all eigenfunctions in particular are changed drastically if the critical trajectory becomes aperiodic. The intimate connection between the point spectrum and the kneading invariant is established and the critical slowing down as well as the band splitting are a consequence of its properties. The structure of the infinite sequence of null spaces and its implications on the spectrum of the operator are discussed. It is shown that any initial distributionP(0,x) of bounded variation can be projected uniquely onto the eigenfunctions of the relevant eigenvalues and that the time dependence ofP(n, x) is determined by this expansion up to an errorO(
n). From this the stationary and the asymptotic behavior of the correlation function x(n) x can be derived exactly. 相似文献

We calculate the leading contribution to the spectral density of the Wilson Dirac operator using chiral perturbation theory where volume and lattice spacing corrections are given by universal scaling functions. We find analytical expressions for the spectral density on the scale of the average level spacing, and introduce a chiral random matrix theory that reproduces these results. Our work opens up a novel approach to the infinite-volume limit of lattice gauge theory at finite lattice spacing and new ways to extract coefficients of Wilson chiral perturbation theory. 相似文献

We find the lattice spacing dependence of the eigenvalue density of the non-Hermitian Wilson Dirac operator in the ? domain. The starting point is the joint probability density of the corresponding random matrix theory.
