Metastability and phase coexistence are important concepts in colloidal science. Typically, the phase diagram of colloidal systems is considered at the equilibrium without the presence of an external field. However, several studies have reported phase transition under mechanical deformation. The reason behind phase coexistence under shear flow is not fully understood. Here, multilamellar vesicle (MLV)‐to‐sponge (L3) and MLV‐to‐Lα transitions upon increasing temperature are detected using flow small‐angle neutron scattering techniques. Coexistence of Lα and MLV phases at 40 °C under shear flow is detected by using flow NMR spectroscopy. The unusual rheological behavior observed by studying the lamellar phase of a non‐ionic surfactant is explained using 2H NMR and diffusion flow NMR spectroscopy with the coexistence of planar lamellar–multilamellar vesicles. Moreover, a dynamic phase diagram over a wide range of temperatures is proposed. 相似文献

The effect of caffeine on the phase behavior of aqueous dispersion of cubic phase was studied. The morphologies of the dispersed particles were observed by means of cryo-transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and the sizes of the dispersed particles were determined by dynamic light scattering (DLS). It was found that the addition of caffeine could lead to the phase transition from cubic phase to vesicle, and this might be due to the “salt out” effect of caffeine on the monoglyceride molecules in aqueous phase. 相似文献

Block copolymer nanopaticles were prepared from the mixture solutions containing good/poor solvents by a simple evaporation process. The block copolymers formed disorder, unidirectionally stacked lamellar, and onion‐like structures in nanoparticles depending on preparation temperatures. Thermal annealing induced the disorder‐order phase transition and order‐order phase transformation in the block copolymer nanoparticles, even though the annealing temperature is lower than the of one polymer segment. The unusual thermal behaviors suggest that the glass transition temperature of the block copolymer is decreased by the effect of nanoparticle, whose surface areas are larger than their volumes.
The phase transition and the crystal structures of CuITe were investigated by differential thermal analysis and X-ray powder
diffraction measurements in the temperature range between 300 and 683 K. The new phase transition in CuITe was observed at
592 K. The enthalpy of transition is ΔH=0.125 kJ mol-1. The new phase above 592 K belongs to tetragonal system with the space group I41/amd.

The phase composition of asphaltenes taken from oils of Romashskino field (Russia) was studied with calorimetry. It was found that in asphaltenes there are ordered amorphous phases which break in the temperature ranges 70–130 and 130–170 °C. Polarization microscopy data show that the liquid crystal phase appears at temperatures from 180 to 190 °C. Moreover, it is shown that in asphaltenes the crystal phases of co-precipitated paraffinic hydrocarbons and salts can be present. 相似文献
Microemulsions were subject to numerous studies during the last decades, mainly because of their potential with respect to applications, but they are also interesting model systems for statistical mechanics. This is due to their rather complicated phase behaviour and the fascinating microstructures encountered in microemulsion forming systems.
