Noble‐metal nanocrystals (NCs) show excellent catalytic performance for many important electrocatalysis reactions. The crystallographic properties of the facets by which the NCs are bound, closely associated with the shape of the NCs, have a profound influence on the electrocatalytic function of the NCs. To develop an efficient strategy for the synthesis of NCs with controlled facets as well as compositions, understanding of the growth mechanism of the NCs and their interaction with the chemical species involved in NC synthesis is quite important. Furthermore, understanding the facet‐dependent catalytic properties of noble‐metal NCs and the corresponding mechanisms for various electrocatalysis reactions will allow for the rational design of robust electrocatalysts. In this review, we summarize recently developed synthesis strategies for the preparation of mono‐ and bimetallic noble‐metal NCs by classifying them by the type of facets through which they are enclosed and discuss the electrocatalytic applications of noble‐metal NCs with controlled facets, especially for reactions associated with fuel‐cell applications, such as the oxygen reduction reaction and fuel (methanol, ethanol, and formic acid) oxidation reactions.  相似文献

One plausible approach to endow aerogels with specific properties while preserving their other attributes is to fine‐tune the building blocks. However, the preparation of metallic aerogels with designated properties, for example catalytically beneficial morphologies and transition‐metal doping, still remains a challenge. Here, we report on the first aerogel electrocatalyst composed entirely of alloyed PdNi hollow nanospheres (HNSs) with controllable chemical composition and shell thickness. The combination of transition‐metal doping, hollow building blocks, and the three‐dimensional network structure make the PdNi HNS aerogels promising electrocatalysts for ethanol oxidation. The mass activity of the Pd83Ni17 HNS aerogel is 5.6‐fold higher than that of the commercial Pd/C catalyst. This work expands the exploitation of the electrocatalysis properties of aerogels through the morphology and composition control of its building blocks.  相似文献

A new, ultralight, superhigh surface area, multifunctional aerogel, which is macroassembled from sandwich‐like, hierarchical, porous carbon/graphene nanosheets, is described. The multifunctional aerogel was characterized by means of XRD, SEM, TEM, Raman spectroscopy, and UV/Vis absorption spectroscopy. The multifunctional aerogel had an ultralow density of 8 mg cm?3 and a superhigh surface area of 2650 m2 g?1. The multifunctional aerogel was thermal stability and compressible. Meanwhile, the multifunctional aerogel exhibited high capacity for the adsorption of oils and organic solvents, unexpectedly high hydrogen adsorption and good electrochemical performance.  相似文献

An efficient and facile one‐pot method was developed to fabricate noble‐metal nanoparticles (NMNs; Au, Pt, PdO and Ag) that were encapsulated within hollow silica nanospheres (HSNs; NMNs@HSNs) with a size of about 100 nm. NMNs@HSNs were afforded in very high yields between 85–95 %. Poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) polyelectrolyte played a dual role in the fabrication process, both as a core template of the HSNs and as a captor of the NMNs through coordination interactions between the COO? groups on the ammonium polyacrylate (APA) polyanionic chains and the empty orbital of the Au atom. The amount of Au loading in Au@HSNs was easily regulated by varying the volume of the HAuCl4 solution added. In addition, these rattle‐type particles were successfully applied in the catalytic reduction of 2‐nitroaniline (2‐NA) as a model reaction, thus indicating that the micropores in the silica shell could achieve the transport of small species—with a size smaller than that of the micropores—into the cavity. Thus, these fabricated NMNs@HSNs have promising applications in catalysis.  相似文献

Hierarchically organized silica–titania monoliths were synthesized under purely aqueous conditions by applying a new ethylene glycol‐modified single‐source precursor, such as 3‐[3‐{tris(2‐hydroxyethoxy)silyl}propyl]acetylacetone coordinated to a titanium center. The influence of the silicon‐ and titanium‐containing single‐source precursor, the novel glycolated organofunctional silane, and the addition of tetrakis(2‐hydroxyethyl)orthosilicate on the formation of the final porous network was investigated by SEM, TEM, nitrogen sorption, and SAXS/WAXS. In situ SAXS measurements were performed to obtain insight into the development of the mesoporous network during sol–gel transition. IR‐ATR, UV/Vis, XPS, and XAFS measurements showed that up to a Si/Ti ratio of 35:1, well‐dispersed titanium centers in a macro‐/mesoporous SiO2 network with a specific surface area of up to 582 m2 g?1 were obtained. An increase in Ti content resulted in a decrease in specific surface area and a loss of the cellular character of the macroporous network. With a 1:1 Si/Ti ratio, silica–titania powders with circa 100 m2 g?1 and anatase domains within the SiO2 matrix were obtained.  相似文献

A novel Z‐scheme polyimide (PI)/AgBr@Ag aerogel photocatalyst has been successfully synthesized by combining an in situ precipitation method and a supercritical drying method. The as‐prepared PI/AgBr@Ag‐50 (50 wt % AgBr@Ag in PI/AgBr@Ag) aerogel photocatalyst exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity for oxytetracycline degradation with a rate constant of 0.025 min?1, which was 6.9 and 2.6 times higher than that of the PI aerogel or the AgBr@Ag nanoparticles, respectively. More significantly, the PI/AgBr@Ag‐50 aerogel photocatalyst showed stable cycling, which could be attributed to the high mechanical strength and 3D network of the PI aerogel. The introduction of AgBr@Ag on PI with a heterojunction structure efficiently promoted the separation of electron–hole pairs by a Z‐scheme mechanism. The reduced metallic Ag nanoparticles were found to function as centers for the transfer of electrons from AgBr to PI. This work has revealed a new application for the aerogel PI/AgBr@Ag photocatalyst in environmental protection.  相似文献

Single atoms immobilized on metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with unique nanostructures have drawn tremendous attention in the application of catalysis but remain a great challenge. Various single noble‐metal atoms have now been successfully anchored on the well‐defined anchoring sites of the zirconium porphyrin MOF hollow nanotubes, which are probed by aberration‐corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy and synchrotron‐radiation‐based X‐ray absorption fine‐structure spectroscopy. Owing to the hollow structure and excellent photoelectrochemical performance, the HNTM‐Ir/Pt exhibits outstanding catalytic activity in the visible‐light photocatalytic H2 evolution via water splitting. The single atom immobilized on MOFs with hollow structures are expected to pave the way to expand the potential applications of MOFs.  相似文献

Mesoporous titania–organosilica nanoparticles comprised of anatase nanocrystals crosslinked with organosilica moieties have been prepared by direct co‐condensation of a titania precursor, tetrabuthylortotitanate (TBOT), with two organosilica precursors, 1,4‐bis(triethoxysilyl) benzene (BTEB) and 1,2‐bis(triethoxysilyl) ethane (BTEE), in mild conditions and in the absence of surfactant. These hybrid materials show both high surface areas (200–360 m2 g?1) and pore volumes (0.3 cm3 g?1) even after calcination, and excellent photoactivity in the degradation of rhodamine 6G and in the partial oxidation of propene under UV irradiation, especially after the calcination of the samples. During calcination, there is a change in the TiIV coordination and an increase in the content of Si?O?Ti moieties in comparison with the uncalcined materials, which seems to be responsible for the enhanced photocatalytic activity of hybrid titania–silica materials as compared to both uncalcined samples and the control TiO2.  相似文献

Core–shell structured Fe3O4/SiO2/TiO2 nanocomposites with enhanced photocatalytic activity that are capable of fast magnetic separation have been successfully synthesized by combining two steps of a sol–gel process with calcination. The as‐obtained core–shell structure is composed of a central magnetite core with a strong response to external fields, an interlayer of SiO2, and an outer layer of TiO2 nanocrystals with a tunable average size. The convenient control over the size and crystallinity of the TiO2 nanocatalysts makes it possible to achieve higher photocatalytic efficiency than that of commercial photocatalyst Degussa P25. The photocatalytic activity increases as the thickness of the TiO2 nanocrystal shell decreases. The presence of SiO2 interlayer helps to enhance the photocatalytic efficiency of the TiO2 nanocrystal shell as well as the chemical and thermal stability of Fe3O4 core. In addition, the TiO2 nanocrystals strongly adhere to the magnetic supports through covalent bonds. We demonstrate that this photocatalyst can be easily recycled by applying an external magnetic field while maintaining their photocatalytic activity during at least eighteen cycles of use.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and MOF‐derived nanomaterials have recently attracted great interest as highly efficient, non‐noble‐metal catalysts. In particular, two‐dimensional MOF nanosheet materials possess the advantages of both 2D layered nanomaterials and MOFs and are considered to be promising nanomaterials. Herein, we report a facile and scalable in situ hydrothermal synthesis of Co–hypoxanthine (HPA) MOF nanosheets, which were then directly carbonized to prepare uniform Co@N‐Carbon nanosheets for efficient bifunctional electrocatalytic hydrogen‐evolution reactions (HERs) and oxygen‐evolution reactions (OERs). The Co embedded in N‐doped carbon shows excellent and stable catalytic performance for bifunctional electrocatalytic OERs and HERs. For OERs, the overpotential of Co@N‐Carbon at 10 mA cm?2 was 400 mV (vs. reversible hydrogen electrode, RHE). The current density of Co@N‐Carbon reached 100 mA cm?2 at an overpotential of 560 mV, which showed much better performance than RuO2; the largest current density of RuO2 that could be reached was only 44 mA cm?2. The Tafel slope of Co@N‐Carbon was 61 mV dec?1, which is comparable to that of commercial RuO2 (58 mV dec?1). The excellent electrocatalytic properties can be attributed to the nanosheet structure and well‐dispersed carbon‐encapsulated Co, CoN nanoparticles, and N‐dopant sites, which provided high conductivity and a large number of accessible active sites. The results highlight the great potential of utilizing MOF nanosheet materials as promising templates for the preparation of 2D Co@N‐Carbon materials for electrocatalysis and will pave the way to the development of more efficient 2D nanomaterials for various catalytic applications.  相似文献

The past decade has witnessed significantly increased interest in the development of smart polypeptide‐based organo‐ and hydrogel systems with stimuli responsiveness, especially those that exhibit sol–gel phase‐transition properties, with an anticipation of their utility in the construction of adaptive materials, sensor designs, and controlled release systems, among other applications. Such developments have been facilitated by dramatic progress in controlled polymerizations of α‐amino acid N‐carboxyanhydrides (NCAs), together with advanced orthogonal functionalization techniques, which have enabled economical and practical syntheses of well‐defined polypeptides and peptide hybrid polymeric materials. One‐dimensional stacking of polypeptides or peptide aggregations in the forms of certain ordered conformations, such as α helices and β sheets, in combination with further physical or chemical cross‐linking, result in the construction of three‐dimensional matrices of polypeptide gel systems. The macroscopic sol–gel transitions, resulting from the construction or deconstruction of gel networks and the conformational changes between secondary structures, can be triggered by external stimuli, including environmental factors, electromagnetic fields, and (bio)chemical species. Herein, the most recent advances in polypeptide gel systems are described, covering synthetic strategies, gelation mechanisms, and stimuli‐triggered sol–gel transitions, with the aim of demonstrating the relationships between chemical compositions, supramolecular structures, and responsive properties of polypeptide‐based organo‐ and hydrogels.  相似文献

The structural processing of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) over multiple length scales is critical for their successful use as adsorbents in a variety of emerging applications. Although significant advances in molecular‐scale design have provided strategies to boost the adsorptive capacities of MOFs, relatively little attention has been directed toward understanding the influence of higher‐order structuralization on the material performance. Herein, we present the main strategies that are currently available for the structural processing of MOFs and discuss the influence these processes can impart on the adsorptive properties of the materials. In all, this intriguing area of research is expected to provide significant opportunities to enhance the properties of MOFs further, which will ultimately aid in their optimization in the context of specific real‐world applications.  相似文献

Supported nickel has been used in a wide range of applications for industrial reactions, such as steam reforming, hydrogenation and methanation. In this work, nickel aluminate was prepared by the sol–gel process using alumatrane as the alkoxide precursor, directly synthesized from the reaction of inexpensive and available compounds, aluminum hydroxide and TIS (triisopropanolamine) via the oxide one pot synthesis (OOPS) process. Various conditions of the sol–gel process, such as pH, calcination temperature, hydrolysis ratio and ratio of nickel to aluminum, were studied. All samples were characterized using FTIR, TGA, XRD, TPR, DR‐UV and BET. The BET surface area was in the range of 340–450 m2/g at the calcination temperature of 500 °C with a mesoporous pore size distribution. Catalyst activity testing in CO oxidation reaction depended on Ni:Al ratio and calcination temperature. Higher activity was obtained from higher Ni content and lower calcination temperature. In addition, catalysts prepared using alumatrane precursor had higher percentage conversion than those prepared using aluminum hydroxide precursor. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Recently, organic–inorganic hybrid materials have attracted tremendous attention thanks to their outstanding properties, their efficiency, versatility and their promising applications in a broad range of areas at the interface of chemistry and biology. This article deals with a new family of surface‐reactive organic–inorganic hybrid materials built from chitosan microspheres. The gelation of chitosan (a renewable amino carbohydrate obtained by deacetylation of chitin) by pH inversion affords highly dispersed fibrillar networks shaped as self‐standing microspheres. Nanocasting of sol–gel processable monomeric alkoxides inside these natural hydrocolloids and their subsequent CO2 supercritical drying provide high‐surface‐area organic–inorganic hybrid materials. Examples including chitosan–SiO2, chitosan–TiO2, chitosan–redox‐clusters and chitosan–clay‐aerogel microspheres are described and discussed on the basis of their textural and structural properties, thermal and chemical stability and their performance in catalysis and adsorption.  相似文献

Mesoporous RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposites at different RuO2 concentrations (0–10 wt %) are prepared through a simple one‐step sol–gel reaction of tetrabutyl orthotitanate with ruthenium(III) acetylacetonate in the presence of an F127 triblock copolymer as structure‐directing agent. The thus‐formed RuO2–TiO2 network gels are calcined at 450 °C for 4 h leading to mesoporous RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposites. The photocatalytic CH3OH oxidation to HCHO is chosen as the test reaction to examine the photocatalytic activity of the mesoporous RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposites under UV and visible light. The photooxidation of CH3OH is substantially affected by the loading amount and the degree of dispersion of RuO2 particles onto the TiO2, which indicates the exclusive effect of the RuO2 nanoparticles on this photocatalytic reaction under visible light. The measured photonic efficiency ξ=0.53 % of 0.5 wt % RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposite for CH3OH oxidation is maximal and the further increase of RuO2 loading up to 10 wt % gradually decreases this value. The cause of the visible‐light photocatalytic behavior is the incorporation of small amounts of Ru4+ into the anatase lattice. On the other hand, under UV light, undoped TiO2 shows a very good photonic efficiency, which is more than three times that for commercial photocatalyst, P‐25 (Evonik–Degussa); however, addition of RuO2 suppresses the photonic efficiency of TiO2. The proposed reaction mechanism based on the observed behavior of RuO2–TiO2 photocatalysts under UV and visible light is explored.  相似文献
