According to the well-accepted mechanism, methyl-coenzyme M reductase (MCR) involves Ni-mediated thiolate-to-disulfide conversion that sustains its catalytic cycle of methane formation in the energy saving pathways of methanotrophic microbes. Model complexes that illustrate Ni-ion mediated reversible thiolate/disulfide transformation are unknown. In this paper we report the synthesis, crystal structure, spectroscopic properties and redox interconversions of a set of NiII complexes comprising a tridentate N2S donor thiol and its analogous N4S2 donor disulfide ligands. These complexes demonstrate reversible NiII-thiolate/NiII-disulfide (both bound and unbound disulfide-S to NiII) transformations via thiyl and disulfide monoradical anions that resemble a primary step of MCR's catalytic cycle.  相似文献

Ni‐catalyzed cross‐coupling of unactivated secondary alkyl halides with alkylboranes provides an efficient way to construct alkyl–alkyl bonds. The mechanism of this reaction with the Ni/ L1 ( L1 =transN,N′‐dimethyl‐1,2‐cyclohexanediamine) system was examined for the first time by using theoretical calculations. The feasible mechanism was found to involve a NiI–NiIII catalytic cycle with three main steps: transmetalation of [NiI( L1 )X] (X=Cl, Br) with 9‐borabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane (9‐BBN)R1 to produce [NiI( L1 )(R1)], oxidative addition of R2X with [NiI( L1 )(R1)] to produce [NiIII( L1 )(R1)(R2)X] through a radical pathway, and C? C reductive elimination to generate the product and [NiI( L1 )X]. The transmetalation step is rate‐determining for both primary and secondary alkyl bromides. KOiBu decreases the activation barrier of the transmetalation step by forming a potassium alkyl boronate salt with alkyl borane. Tertiary alkyl halides are not reactive because the activation barrier of reductive elimination is too high (+34.7 kcal mol?1). On the other hand, the cross‐coupling of alkyl chlorides can be catalyzed by Ni/ L2 ( L2 =transN,N′‐dimethyl‐1,2‐diphenylethane‐1,2‐diamine) because the activation barrier of transmetalation with L2 is lower than that with L1 . Importantly, the Ni0–NiII catalytic cycle is not favored in the present systems because reductive elimination from both singlet and triplet [NiII( L1 )(R1)(R2)] is very difficult.  相似文献

In the title compound, [Ni(C12H11N2)2], the NiII cation lies on an inversion centre and has a square‐planar coordination geometry. This transition metal complex is composed of two deprotonated N,N′‐bidentate 2‐[(phenylimino)ethyl]‐1H‐pyrrol‐1‐ide ligands around a central NiII cation, with the pyrrolide rings and imine groups lying trans to each other. The Ni—N bond lengths range from 1.894 (3) to 1.939 (2) Å and the bite angle is 83.13 (11)°. The Ni—N(pyrrolide) bond is substantially shorter than the Ni—N(imino) bond. The planes of the phenyl rings make a dihedral angle of 78.79 (9)° with respect to the central NiN4 plane. The molecules are linked into simple chains by an intermolecular C—H...π interaction involving a phenyl β‐C atom as donor. Intramolecular C—H...π interactions are also present.  相似文献

The reaction of precursors containing both nitrogen and oxygen atoms with NiII under 500 °C can generate a N/O mixing coordinated Ni‐N3O single‐atom catalyst (SAC) in which the oxygen atom can be gradually removed under high temperature due to the weaker Ni?O interaction, resulting in a vacancy‐defect Ni‐N3‐V SAC at Ni site under 800 °C. For the reaction of NiII with the precursor simply containing nitrogen atoms, only a no‐vacancy‐defect Ni‐N4 SAC was obtained. Experimental and DFT calculations reveal that the presence of a vacancy‐defect in Ni‐N3‐V SAC can dramatically boost the electrocatalytic activity for CO2 reduction, with extremely high CO2 reduction current density of 65 mA cm?2 and high Faradaic efficiency over 90 % at ?0.9 V vs. RHE, as well as a record high turnover frequency of 1.35×105 h?1, much higher than those of Ni‐N4 SAC, and being one of the best reported electrocatalysts for CO2‐to‐CO conversion to date.  相似文献

The synthesis and the structures of (i) the ligand N,N‐Diethyl‐N′‐3,5‐di(trifluoromethyl)benzoylthiourea HEt2dtfmbtu and (ii) the NiII and PdII complexes of HEt2dtfmbtu are reported. The ligand coordinates bidendate forming bis chelates. The NiII and the PdII complexes are isostructural. The also prepared CuII complex could not be characterized by X‐ray analysis. However, the preparation of diamagnetically diluted powders Cu/Ni(Et2dtfmbtu)2 and Cu/Pd(Et2dtfmbtu)2 suitable for EPR studies was successful. The EPR spectra of the Cu/Ni and Cu/Pd systems show noticeable differences for the symmetry of the CuS2O2 unit in both complexes: the Cu/Pd system is characterized by axially‐symmetric g< and A cu tensors; for the Cu/Ni system g and A Cu have rhombic symmetry. EPR studies on frozen solutions of the CuII complex show the presence of a CuII‐CuII dimer which is the first observed for CuII acylthioureato complexes up to now. The parameters of the fine structure tensor were used for the estimation of the CuII‐CuII distance.  相似文献

The title compound, [Pb(C4H3N2S)2]n, was prepared by the reaction of [Pb(OAc)2]·3H2O (OAc is acetate) with pyrimidine‐2‐thione in the presence of triethylamine in methanol. In the crystal structure, the PbII atom has an N4S4 coordination environment with four ligands coordinated by N‐ and S‐donor atoms. This compound shows that the pyrimidine‐2‐thiolate anion can lead to a three‐dimensional network when the coordination number of the metal ion can be higher than 6, as is the case with the PbII ion. This compound presents only covalent bonds, showing that despite the possibility of the hemidirected geometries of PbII, the eight‐coordinated ion does not allow the formation of an isolated molecular structure with pyrimidine‐2‐thiolate as the ligand.  相似文献

A new family of nickel(II) complexes of the type [Ni(L)(CH3CN)](BPh4)2, where L=N‐methyl‐N,N′,N′‐tris(pyrid‐2‐ylmethyl)‐ethylenediamine (L1, 1 ), N‐benzyl‐N,N′,N′‐tris(pyrid‐2‐yl‐methyl)‐ethylenediamine (L2, 2 ), N‐methyl‐N,N′‐bis(pyrid‐2‐ylmethyl)‐N′‐(6‐methyl‐pyrid‐2‐yl‐methyl)‐ethylenediamine (L3, 3 ), N‐methyl‐N,N′‐bis(pyrid‐2‐ylmethyl)‐N′‐(quinolin‐2‐ylmethyl)‐ethylenediamine (L4, 4 ), and N‐methyl‐N,N′‐bis(pyrid‐2‐ylmethyl)‐N′‐imidazole‐2‐ylmethyl)‐ethylenediamine (L5, 5 ), has been isolated and characterized by means of elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, UV/Vis spectroscopy, and electrochemistry. The single‐crystal X‐ray structure of [Ni(L3)(CH3CN)](BPh4)2 reveals that the nickel(II) center is located in a distorted octahedral coordination geometry constituted by all the five nitrogen atoms of the pentadentate ligand and an acetonitrile molecule. In a dichloromethane/acetonitrile solvent mixture, all the complexes show ligand field bands in the visible region characteristic of an octahedral coordination geometry. They exhibit a one‐electron oxidation corresponding to the NiII/NiIII redox couple the potential of which depends upon the ligand donor functionalities. The new complexes catalyze the oxidation of cyclohexane in the presence of m‐CPBA as oxidant up to a turnover number of 530 with good alcohol selectivity (A/K, 7.1–10.6, A=alcohol, K=ketone). Upon replacing the pyridylmethyl arm in [Ni(L1)(CH3CN)](BPh4)2 by the strongly σ‐bonding but weakly π‐bonding imidazolylmethyl arm as in [Ni(L5)(CH3CN)](BPh4)2 or the sterically demanding 6‐methylpyridylmethyl ([Ni(L3)(CH3CN)](BPh4)2 and the quinolylmethyl arms ([Ni(L4)(CH3CN)](BPh4)2, both the catalytic activity and the selectivity decrease. DFT studies performed on cyclohexane oxidation by complexes 1 and 5 demonstrate the two spin‐state reactivity for the high‐spin [(N5)NiII?O.] intermediate (ts1hs, ts2doublet), which has a low‐spin state located closely in energy to the high‐spin state. The lower catalytic activity of complex 5 is mainly due to the formation of thermodynamically less accessible m‐CPBA‐coordinated precursor of [NiII(L5)(OOCOC6H4Cl)]+ ( 5 a ). Adamantane is oxidized to 1‐adamantanol, 2‐adamantanol, and 2‐adamantanone (3°/2°, 10.6–11.5), and cumene is selectively oxidized to 2‐phenyl‐2‐propanol. The incorporation of sterically hindering pyridylmethyl and quinolylmethyl donor ligands around the NiII leads to a high 3°/2° bond selectivity for adamantane oxidation, which is in contrast to the lower cyclohexane oxidation activities of the complexes.  相似文献

<!?tlsb=‐0.2pt>Nitrogen‐based polydentate ligands are of interest owing to their flexible complexation to transition metal atoms. For the title compound, [Ni(C15H17N2)2], a transition metal complex formed by the coordination of two identical N,N′‐bidentate mono(imino)pyrrolyl ligands to an NiII centre, an X‐ray crystal diffraction study indicates that the two ligands show an inverted arrangement with respect to one another around the NiII centre, which is located on a crystallographic inversion centre. The planes of the aromatic substituents at the imine N atoms of the ligands show dihedral angles of 85.91 (5)° with respect to the NiN4 plane. The Ni—N bond lengths are in the range 1.9072 (15)–1.9330 (15) Å and the Nimino—Ni—Npyrrole bite angles are 83.18 (6)°. The Ni—Npyrrole bond is substantially shorter than the Ni—Nimino bond. Molecules are linked into an extensive network by means of intermolecular C—H...π(arene) hydrogen bonds in which every molecule acts both as hydrogen‐bond donor and acceptor. The supramolecular assembly takes the form of an infinite two‐dimensional sheet.  相似文献

The title compound, [Ni(C8H12BN4)(C13H18BN6)] or Bp′Tp′NiII, where Bp′ is (3,5‐dimethylpyrazol‐1‐yl)dihydro(pyrazol‐1‐yl)borate and Tp′ is bis(3,5‐dimethylpyrazol‐1‐yl)hydro(pyrazol‐1‐yl)borate, contains a divalent NiII centre bound by the chelating N atoms of the polysubstituted pyrazolylborate ligands. It is shown to lack a strong agostic B—H...Ni interaction, implying that the sixth coordination site is unoccupied in the solid state. This square‐pyramidal complex is the only known crystal structure where the NiII centre is pentacoordinated while bonded exclusively to pyrazolyl units. This is of interest with respect to electrochemical and catalytic properties.  相似文献

Interactions between the nucleotides: adenosine‐5′‐diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine‐5′‐triphosphate (ATP) with NiII and CoII ions, as well as with spermine (Spm) and 1,11‐diamine‐4,8‐diazaundecane (3,3,3‐tet) are the subject of this study. Composition and stability constants of mixed complexes thus formed have been determined on the basis of the potentiometric measurements, whereas interaction centres in ligands have been identified by VIS and NMR spectral parameter analysis. Mixed tetraprotonated complexes with NiII, i.e. Ni(ADP)H4(Spm), Ni(ATP)H4(Spm), Ni(ADP)H4(3,3,3‐tet) and Ni(ATP)H4(333‐tet), are identified as ML·······L′ type adducts, in which the main coordination centre is the nucleotide nitrogen N(1) or N(7) donor atom, and the fully protonated polyamine is engaged in noncovalent interactions with nucleotide phosphate group oxygen atoms. Ni(ADP)H2(Spm), Ni(ATP)H2(Spm), Ni(ADP)H2(3,3,3‐tet) and Ni(ATP)H2(3,3,3‐tet) complexes represent the {N3} coordination type In diprotonated mixed complexes of NiII with spermine are weak noncovalent interligand interactions, providing an additional stabilising effect. Formation of ML·······L′ type molecular complexes has been observed in systems with CoII: Co(ADP)H4(Spm), Co(ATP)H4(Spm), Co(ADP)H4(3,3,3‐tet) and Co(ATP)H4(3,3,3‐tet), in which the N(7) atom and oxygen atoms of the phosphate group are involved in coordination and the fully protonated polyamine is engaged in noncovalent interactions with the nucleotide N(1).  相似文献

Synthesis, Structures, NMR and EPR Investigations of Binuclear Bis(N,N,N‴,N‴‐tetraisobutyl‐N′,N″‐isophthaloylbis(selenoureato)) Complexes of NiII and CuII The synthesis of binuclear CuII and NiII complexes of the quadridentate ligand N,N,N‴,N‴‐tetraisobutyl‐N′,N″‐isophthaloylbis(selenourea) and their crystal structures are reported. The complexes crystallize monoclinic, P21/c (Z = 2). In the EPR spectra of the binuclear CuII complex exchange‐coupled CuII‐CuII pairs were observed. In addition the signals of a mononuclear CuII species are observed what will be explained with the assumption of an equilibrium between the binuclear CuII‐complex (CuII‐CuII pairs) and oligomeric complexes with “isolated” CuII ions. Detailed 13C and 77Se NMR investigations on the ligand and the NiII complex allow an exact assignment of all signals of the heteroatoms.  相似文献

It has recently been proposed that disulfide/thiolate interconversion supported by transition‐metal ions is involved in several relevant biological processes. In this context, the present contribution represents a unique investigation of the effect of the coordinated metal (M) on the Mn+?disulfide/M(n+1)+?thiolate switch properties. Like its isostructural CoII‐based parent compound, CoII 2 SS (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2014 , 53, 5318), the new dinuclear disulfide‐bridged MnII complex MnII 2 SS can undergo an MII?disulfide/MIII?thiolate interconversion, which leads to the first disulfide/thiolate switch based on Mn. The coordination of iodide to the metal ion stabilizes the oxidized form, as the disulfide is reduced to the thiolate. The reverse process, which involves the reduction of MIII to MII with the concomitant oxidation of the thiolates, requires the release of iodide. The MnII 2 SS complex slowly reacts with Bu4NI in CH2Cl2 to afford the mononuclear MnIII?thiolate complex MnIIII . The process is much slower (ca. 16 h) and much less efficient (ca. 30 % yield) with respect to the instantaneous and quantitative conversion of CoII 2 SS into CoIIII under similar conditions. This distinctive behavior can be rationalized by considering the different electrochemical properties of the involved Co and Mn complexes and the DFT‐calculated driving force of the disulfide/thiolate conversion. For both Mn and Co systems, MII?disulfide/MIII?thiolate interconversion is reversible. However, when the iodide is removed with Ag+, the MII 2 SS complexes are regenerated, albeit much slower for Mn than for Co systems.  相似文献

The nickel(II) N‐benzyl‐N‐methyldithiocarbamato (BzMedtc) complexes [Ni(BzMedtc)(PPh3)Cl] ( 1 ), [Ni(BzMedtc)(PPh3)Br] ( 2 ), [Ni(BzMedtc)(PPh3)I] ( 3 ), and [Ni(BzMedtc)(PPh3)(NCS)] ( 4 ) were synthesized using the reaction of [Ni(BzMedtc)2] and [NiX2(PPh3)2] (X = Cl, Br, I and NCS). Subsequently, complex 1 was used for the preparation of [Ni(BzMedtc)(PPh3)2]ClO4 ( 5 ), [Ni(BzMedtc)(PPh3)2]BPh4 ( 6 ), and [Ni(BzMedtc)(PPh3)2]PF6 ( 7 ). The obtained complexes 1 – 7 were characterized by elemental analysis, thermal analysis and spectroscopic methods (IR, UV/Vis, 31P{1H} NMR). The results of the magnetochemical and molar conductivity measurements proved the complexes as diamagnetic non‐electrolytes ( 1 – 4 ) or 1:1 electrolytes ( 5 – 7 ). The molecular structures of 4 and 5· H2O were determined by a single‐crystal X‐ray analysis. In all cases, the NiII atom is tetracoordinated in a distorted square‐planar arrangement with the S2PX, and S2P2 donor set, respectively. The catalytic influence of selected complexes 1 , 3 , 5 , and 6 on graphite oxidation was studied. The results clearly indicated that the presence of the products of thermal degradation processes of the mentioned complexes has impact on the course of graphite oxidation. A decrease in the oxidation start temperatures by about 60–100 °C was observed in the cases of all the tested complexes in comparison with pure graphite.  相似文献

In the title compounds, {2,2′‐[2,2‐dimethyl‐1,3‐propanediylbis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenolato‐κ4N,N′,O,O′}nickel(II), [Ni(C19H20N2O2)], and {2,2′‐[2,2‐dimethyl‐1,3‐propanediylbis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenolato‐κ4N,N′,O,O′}copper(II), [Cu(C19H20N2O2)], the NiII and CuII atoms are coordinated by two iminic N and two phenolic O atoms of the N,N′‐bis(salicylidene)‐2,2‐dimethyl‐1,3‐propanediaminate (SALPD2?, C17H16N2O22?) ligand. The geometry of the coordination sphere is planar in the case of the NiII complex and distorted towards tetrahedral for the CuII complex. Both complexes have a cis configuration imposed by the chelate ligand. The dihedral angles between the N/Ni/O and N/Cu/O coordination planes are 17.20 (6) and 35.13 (7)°, respectively.  相似文献

The synthesis and structure of the first 1,2‐bis(NHSi)‐substituted ortho‐carborane [(LSi:)C]2B10H10 (termed SiCCSi) is reported (NHSi=N‐heterocyclic silylene; L=PhC(NtBu)2). Its suitability to serve as a reliable bis(silylene) chelating ligand for transition metals is demonstrated by the formation of [SiCCSi]NiBr2 and [SiCCSi]Ni(CO)2 complexes. The CO stretching vibration modes of the latter indicate that the SiII atoms in the SiCCSi ligand are even stronger σ donors than the PIII atoms in phosphines and CII atoms in N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands. Moreover, the strong donor character of the [SiCCSi] ligand enables [SiCCSi]NiBr2 to act as an outstanding precatalyst (0.5 mol % loading) in the catalytic aminations of arenes, surpassing the activity of previously known molecular Ni‐based precatalysts (1–10 mol %).  相似文献

Unique self‐assembled macrocyclic multinuclear ZnII and NiII complexes with binaphthyl‐bipyridyl ligands (L) were synthesized. X‐ray analysis revealed that these complexes consisted of an outer ring (Zn3L3 or Ni3L3) and an inner core (Zn2 or Ni). In the ZnII complex, the inner Zn2 part rotated rapidly inside the outer ring in solution on an NMR timescale. These complexes exhibited dual catalytic activities for CO2 fixations: synthesis of cyclic carbonates from epoxides and CO2 and temperature‐switched N‐formylation/N‐methylation of amines with CO2 and hydrosilane.  相似文献

The coordination geometry of the NiII atom in the title complex, poly[diazidobis[μ‐1,4‐bis(1,2,4‐triazol‐1‐ylmethyl)benzene‐κ2N4:N4′]nickel(II)], [Ni(N3)2(C12H12N6)2]n, is a distorted octahedron, in which the NiII atom lies on an inversion centre and is coordinated by four N atoms from the triazole rings of two symmetry‐related pairs of 1,4‐bis(1,2,4‐triazol‐1‐ylmethyl)benzene (bbtz) ligands and two N atoms from two symmetry‐related monodentate azide ligands. The NiII atoms are bridged by four bbtz ligands to form a two‐dimensional (4,4)‐network.  相似文献

A bis(NiII‐porphyrinyl)aminyl radical with meso‐C6F5 groups was prepared as a spin‐delocalized stable aminyl radical with a doublet spin state. Upon addition of pyridine, both NiII centers became hexacoordinated by accepting two axial pyridines, which triggered a spin‐state change of the NiII centers from diamagnetic (S=0) to paramagnetic (S=1). The resulting high‐spin NiII centers interact with the aminyl radical ferromagnetically to give rise to an overall sextet state (S=5/2). Importantly, this coordination‐induced spin‐state switching can be conducted in a reversible manner, in that washing of the high‐spin radical with aqueous hydrochloric acid regenerates the original doublet radical in good yield.  相似文献

A nickel‐catalyzed methylation of aryl halides with cheap and readily available CH3I or CD3I is described. The reaction is applicable to a wide range of substrates and allows installation of a CD3 group under mild reaction conditions without deuterium scrambling to other carbon atoms. Initial mechanistic studies on the stoichiometric and catalytic reactions of the isolated [(dppp)Ni(C6H4‐4‐CO2Et)Br] [dppp=1,3‐bis(diphenylphosphanyl)propane] suggest that a Ni0/NiII catalytic cycle is favored.  相似文献
