The fixed target COMPASS experiment at CERN offers the opportunity to search for exotic mesons and glueball candidates in the light quark sector with unprecedented statistics.Preliminary results from the2008 data taken with an incoming negative hadron beam(190 GeV/c,mainly pions)on a liquid hydrogen target are presented.New detectors dedicated to hadron beam measurements have been added.These give access to rare neutral and kaonic channels.An amplitude analysis which will allow to fit simultaneously diffractively and/or centrally produced resonances will be described and compared with those used in the CERN WA102and BNL E852 experiments. 相似文献

Bohrs interpretation of quantum mechanics has been criticized as incoherent and opportunistic, and based on doubtful philosophical premises. If so Bohrs influence, in the pre-war period of 1927–1939, is the harder to explain, and the acceptance of his approach to quantum mechanics over de Broglies had no reasonable foundation. But Bohrs interpretation changed little from the time of its first appearance, and stood independent of any philosophical presuppositions. The principle of complementarity is itself best read as a conjecture of unusually wide scope, on the nature and future course of explanations in the sciences (and not only the physical sciences). Summary An observation program of X-ray sources in the (20÷200) keV energy band by means of a balloon-borne NaI(Tl) seintillator array
was undertaken in 1980. Three balloon flights have been performed and 10 X-ray rources observed, some more than once. We present

The upgrade of the MAX-lab injector and the construction of MAX Ⅲ, provided the opportunity for upgrading the tagged-photon facility and thus lead to the possibility of more extensive program in nuclear physics research. This upgrade increased the injected electron energy to an eventual maximum of 250 MeV and allows for the extraction of electrons from the MAX Ⅰ ring operated in the stretcher mode. The first stretched beam was delivered in September 2005. The tagged-photon facility was commissioned in parallel with the commissioning of new experimental equipment. The PAC approved experimental program is current in progress, including measurements of pion photoproduction below the △(1232). The efforts at the tagged photon-facility are pursued within an international collaboration with around fifty members. 相似文献
