在成功实现半导体硅表面电沉积致密金膜的柠檬酸盐镀金实际应用体系中,运用循环伏安和电位阶跃法研究了Au在n型Si(111)电极表面的电沉积过程和成核机理.结果表明,在该体系中, Au在Si表面呈现不可逆电极过程,成核过电位达到250 mV;根据Cottrell方程求得扩散系数D = (1.81 ± 0.14) × 10-4 cm2·s-1;运用Scharifker-Hills (SH)理论模型对比分析拟合实验结果,表明Au在n型Si表面遵循扩散控制下的三维连续成核机理;通过扫描电子显微镜观察Au初期成核、生长形貌,进一步证实了Au的三维连续成核机制,并讨论了阶跃电位和阶跃时间对Au核形貌和密度的影响.  相似文献

The kinetics of phase transitions of adenine adsorbed on mercury are studied by chronocoulometry and chronoamperometry from aqueous 0.1 M KClO4 and 0.5 M NaF solutions. Experimental conditions have been selected to minimise, in the overall kinetic response, the contribution of the initial current decay, due to double-layer charging and the adsorption step. The transients corrected for these fast initial contributions present a peaked shape and can be described by the classical theory for nucleation and growth. The potential dependences of the rate constants of nucleation and growth have been obtained from double potential step experiments. The analysis of the condensation kinetics according to the classical nucleation theory leads to the evaluation of the line tension, and the Gibbs energy of formation of a critical cluster and its size.  相似文献

于不同H2PtCl6浓度和超电势下,应用Fleischmann的电结晶成核及晶体生长模型和Barradas Bosco的电化学成相吸附成核模型,拟合多晶Au微盘电极( =30μm)上电沉积Pt的恒电势阶跃电流暂态曲线.得出:在稀H2PtCl6溶液中,上述沉积过程初期,发生H2PtCl6吸附并遵循二维瞬时成核与圆柱形生长模型.二维生长速率常数随超电势线性增加.跟随其后的是核的层状生长,其速率常数随超电势呈非线性变化.而在高浓H2PtCl溶液中,沉积机理转变为H2PtCl6的吸附、瞬时成核及三维正圆锥形的生长模式.其晶核的垂直生长速率常数kPERP比水平生长速率常数kPARA大两个数量级以上.况且,logkPERP随超电势线性增加,而logkPARA则随超电势呈反S形变化的关系.相同超电势下,无论kPERP还是kPARA,均比稀H2PtCl6溶液中的二维层状生长速率常数大几个数量级.  相似文献

In the present work, the nucleation and growth mechanism for the electropolymerization of aniline in propylene carbonate medium containing 0.06 M trifluoroacetic acid and 0.05 M lithium perchlorate was investigated at different potentials on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) by potentiostatic current-time transients (i-t) and atomic force microscopic (AFM) measurements. The electrochemical data fitted with the theoretical curves for nucleation and growth suggest that the electropolymerization of aniline consists of progressive nucleation followed by 3D growth at an early stage and layer-by-layer growth in subsequent periods. The results obtained from transient analysis were in good agreement with the results of the AFM analysis. In our previous studies with aqueous solutions, we observed only progressive nucleation followed by a 3D growth mechanism for the electropolymerization of aniline in a higher potential range, 1.5–2.0 V vs. Ag/AgCl. Hence, the results obtained from the present work indicate that the nucleation and growth mechanism depends on the medium.  相似文献

用循环伏安和电位阶跃法研究Au在氧化铟锡(ITO)透明导电膜玻璃表面的电沉积过程的初期阶段. 发现在ITO表面Au的电沉积经历成核过程以及受[AuCl4]-扩散控制的晶核生长过程. 通过改变扫描速率分析循环伏安曲线的变化, 当扫描速率较快时, 发现Au在ITO表面的沉积过程经历[AuCl4]-→[AuCl2]-→Au两步进行; 当扫描速率较慢时, 受歧化反应作用影响而只表现为一步沉积[AuCl4]-→Au. 通过电位阶跃实验, 验证了Au的两步沉积过程, 并求得[AuCl4]-的扩散系数为1.3×10-5 cm2·s-1. 将成核曲线与理论曲线对照, 得出Au在ITO表面的沉积符合瞬时成核理论. 通过场发射扫描电镜(FE-SEM)对Au核形貌进行分析, 根据扫描电镜图可以得到阶跃时间和阶跃电位对电沉积Au的形貌的影响.  相似文献

In this work, the nucleation and growth mechanism for the electropolymerization of aniline was investigated at higher potentials on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite by potentiostatic current-time transient and atomic force microscopic (AFM) measurements. The electrochemical data fitted to the theoretical curves for the nucleation and growth suggest that electropolymerization of aniline follows the three-dimensional growth and progressive nucleation mechanism. These results were also compared with the results obtained at lower potentials. The influence of nearest-neighbor diffusion on the decay of a metastable low-coverage phase (monolayer adsorption) in a square lattice-gas model of electrochemical metal deposition is investigated by kinetic Monte Carlo simulations. The phase-transformation dynamics are compared to the well-established Kolmogorov-Johnson-Mehl-Avrami theory. The phase transformation is accelerated by diffusion, but remains in accord with the theory for continuous nucleation up to moderate diffusion rates. At very high diffusion rates the phase-transformation kinetic shows a crossover to instantaneous nucleation. Then, the probability of medium-sized clusters is reduced in favor of large clusters. Upon reversal of the supersaturation, the adsorbate desorbs, but large clusters still tend to grow during the initial stages of desorption. Calculation of the free energy of subcritical clusters by enumeration of lattice animals yields a quasiequilibrium distribution which is in reasonable agreement with the simulation results. This is an improvement relative to classical droplet theory, which fails to describe the distributions, since the macroscopic surface tension is a bad approximation for small clusters.  相似文献

We have studied the nucleation process of a two-dimensional kinetic Ising model subject to a bias oscillating external field, focusing on how the nucleation time depends on the oscillation frequency. It is found that the nucleation time shows a clear-cut minimum with the variation of oscillation frequency, wherein the average size of the critical nuclei is the smallest, indicating that an oscillating external field with an optimal frequency can be much more favorable to the nucleation process than a constant field. We have also investigated the effect of the initial phase of the external field, which helps to illustrate the occurrence of such an interesting finding.  相似文献

Mechanisms of first-order phase transition induced by electrochemical intercalation of Li ions into composite graphite electrode are studied both theoretically, in the framework of lattice gas models, and experimentally, by a combination of electroanalytical techniques, such as cyclic voltammetry, potentiostatic intermittent titration (PITT), galvanostatic intermittent titration (GITT), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). From the analysis of the mismatch between the accessible phase-transition rate constants and the characteristic time windows for various electroanalytical methods, we conclude that only a combined application of these techniques provides sufficient, self-consistent information on the mechanisms of phase transitions in graphite electrodes. The advantages and disadvantages in using these techniques are discussed. PITT with a small potential step is the most appropriate tool for measuring the entire sequence of rate-determining steps of phase transitions as a function of time. The latter technique can be conveniently used for quantitative analysis of slow nucleation and the growth of new phases in the bulk of the old one, followed by the coalescence of nuclei and the formation of phase boundaries between the coexisting phases. The formation and kinetics of large vapourized-material cluster beams (large size metal clusters) are discussed. The clusters are formed by injecting the vapour of solid state materials into a high vacuum region through a nozzle of a heated crucible. The conditions under which metal clusters form are analysed using nucleation theory. Computer simulation by combining the nucleation and flow equations has also been made. The results show that the theory can be useful in predicting qualitative dependences of metal cluster formation on operation conditions. Several experimental results are also presented, which support the finding that a large size metal cluster is formed by homogeneous nucleation and growth. The advantageous characteristics of ionized cluster beam for thin film formation are also discussed.  相似文献

The sequential clustering reactions of gas phase silicon cluster ions are ideally suited for studying heterogeneous nucleation of silicon particles. Stepwise reactions of silicon cluster ions with silane have been observed which lead to growth of larger deuterated silicon clusters. Extensive information is obtained about their exothermic gas phase reaction rates and product distributions as a function of cluster size and degree of hydrogenation. What is found is that each size of silicon cluster exhibits a unique pattern of growth. Furthermore, nearly all of the silicon clusters encounter chemical constraints to rapid nucleation. These constraints are a consequence of specific electronic and structural requirements in the chemical reactions. The nature of these requirements are deduced using experimental results in concert with ab initio electronic structure theoretical calculations of the energetics and structures of various species.  相似文献

Some alternative ways are developed of looking at the model concepts on electrochemical nucleation. The article consists in several parts concerning several stages of the overall process of nucleation and growth: the statistical approach to nucleation kinetics, the kinetics of the initial stage of the nuclei growth, the growth of an individual cluster under combined charge transfer and diffusion control, nucleation rate and the overall number of clusters, the growth of an increasing number of clusters at overlapping of diffusionally depleted zones, and galvanostatic nucleation.  相似文献

The observation and the study of first-order phase transitions in cooperative spin-crossover (SCO) solids exhibiting hysteresis behaviours are of particular interest and currently constitute a burgeoning area in the field of bistable molecular materials. The understanding and the control of the transition mechanisms (nucleation and growth processes) and their dynamics within the hysteresis region appear to be a general and appealing problem from a fundamental point of view and for technological applications as well. This review reports on the recent progresses and most important findings made on the spatiotemporal dynamics of the spin transition in SCO solids, particularly through the universal nucleation and growth process. Both thermally induced and light-induced spin transitions are discussed. We open up this review to the central question of the evolution of the transition mechanisms and dynamics in SCO nano-objects, which constitute promising systems to reach ultra-fast switching, and the experimental issues inherent to such studies at the micro- and nanometric scale.  相似文献

In this paper, the concept offractal geometry was applied to the growth of icosahedral and polyicosahedral clusters. Fractal dimensions were calculated for high-frequency icosahedral casters, vertex-sharing polyicosahedral clusters, and linked polyicosahedral clusters. These cluster growth pathways were compared with the fractal growth mechanisms of colloidal particles. Close similarities were found despite the tremendous differences in particle sizes and the forces governing their nucleation and growth processes.Dedicated to Prof. Lawrence F.
