Successful completion of the Human Genome Project has raised public expectations that research findings will translate quickly into health benefits; however, the gap between biomedical research and clinical and public health application seems wider than ever. Public health scientists now have the opportunity to help create a broad concept of research translation that integrates genomic information into policies, programs and services benefiting the whole population. Important 'signposts' along the translation highway include conducting population-based research in genomics, developing evidence on the clinical and public health value of genomic information, and integrating genomics into health practice.  相似文献

Exact solutions with plane and cylindricalwaves are obtained for one-dimensional problems of injection of a suspension into a porous reservoir when lagging of the suspended particles behind the carrier fluid is taken into account in the case of large change in the porosity. It is shown that taking lagging of the particles behind the fluid into account can lead to slowing-down the motion of jump in concentration. This is in agreement with the results of a series of experiments. It is also noted that, in principle, models in which the particles pass in average ahead of the carrier fluid are possible in the problems of deep bed filtration.  相似文献

In this paper, the domain integral of the form of Poisson equation is translated into complete boundary integral by the fundamental solution of higher-order Laplace operator, the dimensions of the problem can be contracted into one. Stability of mechanical systems in the sense of Thomson and Tait [1] can be judged from the type of forces applied to them. The forces are usually divided into potential (conservative), circular, dissipative, accelerating, gyroscopic, etc. The decomposition itself of generalized positional forces into conservative and properly nonconservative forces is well known for the case in which these forces linearly depend on the generalized coordinates (e.g., see [1–5]). Such a decomposition is associated with the unique representation of an arbitrary matrix of these forces as the sum of symmetric and skew-symmetric parts. Generalized forces linearly depending on the velocities can in a similar way be divided into dissipative and gyroscopic parts. In the present paper, we show how the same decomposition can be performed in the general nonlinear case.  相似文献

In the classical model of an ideal rigid-plastic material without hardening, the governing system of equations is a system of hyperbolic type, and, if hardening is taken into account, the type of the system of equations changes from hyperbolic to elliptical. In this case, the correlation between the experimentally observed strain localization lines and the characteristics of the quasilinear system is violated. It is shown that if dilatancy is taken into account, the system of equations remains hyperbolic.  相似文献

基于表面扩散的经典理论及其弱解描述,建立曲率、内压和电场共同作用下的有限单元法,分析了金属材料内部晶内微裂纹的演化过程。对于形态比为β的微裂纹,存在一临界电场值χc,当χ<χc时,微裂纹逐渐圆柱化;当χ>χc时,微裂纹分节为上下或左右两个较小的微裂纹。内压加速有助于微裂纹分节。对于β>1的微裂纹,当β和χ一定时存在一临界内压值qc,当q>qc时,随着电场和内压的增大会率先在裂纹的右端发生裂纹扩展。  相似文献

This paper presents the observation results for the internal wave bore in the coastal region of the Sea of Japan with the use of vertical thermistor chains. The data obtained is interpreted by the mathematical models of shallow water in which the effect of nonlinearity and dispersion on the propagation of internal wave trains is taken into account. Within the framework of the theory of multilayer shallow water, the problem of transformation of a solitary wave into an internal bore is solved, and the possibility of recovery of a space-time picture of the flow during the passage of an internal bore in the section between adjacent experimental bottom stations is demonstrated.  相似文献

We succeed in constructing exact parametric analytic solutions for the non-linear ordinary differential equations governing the elastica response of a cantilever due to a generalized end loading by taking into account the effects of transverse deformation. Gas wells produce not only gas, but also a small amount of liquid which, being dense, can collect at the bottom of the well. The well may slowly fill with liquid, and gas production is reduced, or stopped completely, when the perforations through which gas flows into the well are submerged. A simple Venturi pump can be used to re-disperse the liquid into the gas flowing to the surface. The pressure available for lifting liquid into the Venturi throat is not large, and it is therefore advantageous if gas is mixed into the liquid, thereby reducing the effective density of the mixture which has to be lifted. An analysis based solely on Bernoulli’s equation and hydrostatic pressures is surprisingly rich, and gives good agreement with experiment when empirical relations for turbulent wall friction are included.  相似文献

A mathematical model of the axisymmetric distribution of the phases in the zone of invasion of the water-based drilling mud into the productive stratum whose porous space can simultaneously contain three immiscible fluids (oil, gas, and natural water) is constructed; the model takes into account the high rate of heat transfer between the fluids and the rock matrix. It is shown that the resistivity of the invaded zone depends not only on saturation of the latter by the fluids and the concentration of salts in the water phase, but also on the drilling mud filtrate temperature. It is also shown that there is a jump in the function of stratum saturation by oil on the thermal front.  相似文献

Starting from the premise that the distances between points are the only measurable quantities, plasticity is placed into the more general context of the continua with a two-scale representation of the deformation. The Kröner-Lee multiplicative decomposition of the deformation gradient comes out to be incompatible with the geometry of such continua, while the Clifton multiplicative decomposition is compatible but geometrically irrelevant. On the contrary, an approximation theorem taken from the theory of structured deformations provides a measure-theoretic justification for the additive decomposition. It also leads to a decomposition of the strain energy into the sum of two parts, one for each term of the decomposition of the deformation.  相似文献

A depth-integrated two-dimensional numerical model of current, salinity andsediment transport was proposed and calibrated by the observation data in the Yangtze RiverEstuary. It was then applied to investigate the flow and sediment ratio of the navigationchannel, i. e. the North Channel of the Yangtze River Estuary, before and after the firstphase waterway project is implemented. Particularly, the influences of groin length and theorientation of the submerged dam on the flow ratio and sediment load discharging into theNorth Channel were discussed. The numerical results demonstrate that less sediment loaddischarges into the navigation channel, which unburdens the waterway dredging, but in themeantime the flow ratio is also decreased. The flow and sediment ratio can be adjusted bychanging layout and dimensions of the hydro-structures, such as the groin length, the topheight, etc. The effect of the orientation of the submerged dam is more obvious than thegroin lengh.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the mathematical modeling of naturally occurring downslope flows, such as snow avalanches, mudflows, and rapid landslides. The medium in motion is modeled as a non- Newtonian fluid, the non-Newtonian fluids of different types corresponding to different-in-nature flows. It is taken into account that the downslope flows capture the slope material and entrain it into the motion. The flow is assumed to be turbulent and the Lushchik–Pavel’ev–Yakubenko three-equation turbulence model is used. It is so generalized that it allows for flow unsteadiness, complicated rheological properties, the presence of a free boundary, and the mass transfer at the lower flow boundary. The effect of the bottom material capture and the nonlinear rheological properties of the medium in motion on the flow dynamics is numerically investigated.  相似文献

Taking both the heterogeneous catalytic processes, including the surface formation of particles with excited internal degrees of freedom, and the processes of multicomponent diffusion and heat transfer in the MESOX apparatus fully into account makes it possible to obtain a recombination coefficient and an accommodation coefficient of the oxygen-atoms-on-quartz recombination energy which are in good agreement with the experimental data. The heterogeneous catalysis model constructed can be used effectively for predicting the heat fluxes to the surface of reentry vehicles on their entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.  相似文献

Continuum mechanics with dislocations, with the Cattaneo-type heat conduction, with mass transfer, and with electromagnetic fields is put into the Hamiltonian form and into the form of the Godunov-type system of the first-order, symmetric hyperbolic partial differential equations (SHTC equations). The compatibility with thermodynamics of the time reversible part of the governing equations is mathematically expressed in the former formulation as degeneracy of the Hamiltonian structure and in the latter formulation as the existence of a companion conservation law. In both formulations the time irreversible part represents gradient dynamics. The Godunov-type formulation brings the mathematical rigor (the local well posedness of the Cauchy initial value problem) and the possibility to discretize while keeping the physical content of the governing equations (the Godunov finite volume discretization).  相似文献
