In the space L p (? n ), 1 < p < +∞, we consider a new class of integral operators with kernels homogeneous of degree ?n, which includes the class of operators with homogeneous SO(n)-invariant kernels; we study the Banach algebra generated by such operators with multiplicatively weakly oscillating coefficients. For operators from this algebra, we define a symbol in terms of which we formulate a Fredholm property criterion and derive a formula for calculating the index. An important stage in obtaining these results is the establishment of the relationship between the operators of the class under study and the operators of one-dimensional convolution with weakly oscillating compact coefficients.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that the integral form of Macdonald polynomials J ?? [X; q, t] has the property that J ?? [X; q, t]/(1?q) n has Schur expansion with positive polynomial coefficient. An order O(2n) algorithm for computing all the principal minors of an arbitrary n × n complex matrix is motivated and presented, offering an improvement by a factor of n3 over direct computation. The algorithm uses recursive Schur complementation and submatrix extraction, storing the answer in a binary order. An implementation of the algorithm in MATLAB® is also given and practical considerations are discussed and treated accordingly.  相似文献

We establish a positivity property for the difference of products of certain Schur functions, s λ (x), where λ varies over a fundamental Weyl chamber in ? n and x belongs to the positive orthant in ? n . Further, we generalize that result to the difference of certain products of arbitrary numbers of Schur functions. We also derive a log-convexity property of the generalized hypergeometric functions of two Hermitian matrix arguments, and we show how that result may be extended to derive higher-order log-convexity properties.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the C ? -algebra Ωmult(? n ) of multiplicatively weakly oscillating functions and a new wide class of kernels of compact type, which includes the class of SO(n)-invariant kernels. For the Banach algebra generated by operators with kernels of this class and coefficients from Ωmult(? n ), we construct a symbolic calculus, obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the presence of the Fredholm property, and propose a method of calculating the index of families. Similar results are obtained for operators with bihomogeneous kernels of compact type and multiplicatively weakly oscillating coefficients, i.e., for operators from the tensor product \( {{\mathfrak{M}}_{p,n}}_{{_1}}\otimes {{\mathfrak{M}}_{p,n}}_{{_2}} \) .  相似文献

We consider the nonlinear dispersive K(m,n) equation with the generalized evolution term and derive analytical expressions for some conserved quantities. By using a solitary wave ansatz in the form of sechp function, we obtain exact bright soliton solutions for (2 + 1)-dimensional and (3 + 1)-dimensional K(m,n) equations with the generalized evolution terms. The results are then generalized to multi-dimensional K(m,n) equations in the presence of the generalized evolution term. An extended form of the K(m,n) equation with perturbation term is investigated. Exact bright soliton solution for the proposed K(m,n) equation having higher-order nonlinear term is determined. The physical parameters in the soliton solutions are obtained as function of the dependent model coefficients.  相似文献

We prove that the quasi continuous version of a functional in Epr is continuous along the sample paths of the Dirichlet process provided that p>2, 0<r?1 and pr>2, without assuming the Meyer equivalence. Parallel results for multi-parameter processes are also obtained. Moreover, for 1<p<2, we prove that a n parameter Dirichlet process does not touch a set of (p,2n)-zero capacity. The definition of monotone function in the sense of Lebesgue is extended to the Sobolev spacesW 1,p ,p >n ? 1. It is proven that such weakly monotone functions are continuous except in a singular set ofp-capacity zero that is empty in the casep =n. In this paper we show that a C real hypersurface in Cn+1 of finite D'Angelo type admitting a weakly contracting local CR automorphism is CR equivalent to a weighted homogeneous hypersurface. As an application, we show that a bounded pseudoconvex domain in Cn+1 with C boundary of finite D'Angelo type with a hyperbolic orbit accumulation point is biholomorphically equivalent to a domain defined by a weighted homogeneous polynomial.  相似文献

We prove Stanley??s conjecture that, if ?? n is the staircase shape, then the skew Schur functions $s_{\delta_{n} / \mu}$ are non-negative sums of Schur P-functions. We prove that the coefficients in this sum count certain fillings of shifted shapes. In particular, for the skew Schur function $s_{\delta_{n} / \delta _{n-2}}$ , we discuss connections with Eulerian numbers and alternating permutations.  相似文献

We consider the uniqueness of solution (i.e., nonsingularity) of systems of r generalized Sylvester and ?‐Sylvester equations with n×n coefficients. After several reductions, we show that it is sufficient to analyze periodic systems having, at most, one generalized ?‐Sylvester equation. We provide characterizations for the nonsingularity in terms of spectral properties of either matrix pencils or formal matrix products, both constructed from the coefficients of the system. The proposed approach uses the periodic Schur decomposition and leads to a backward stable O(n3r) algorithm for computing the (unique) solution.  相似文献

In our previous paper [1], we observed that generalized Vandermonde determinants of the form Vn;ν(x1,…,xs) = |xiμk|, 1 ≤ i, kn, where the xi are distinct points belonging to an interval [a, b] of the real line, the index n stands for the order, the sequence μ consists of ordered integers 0 ≤ μ1 < μ2 < … < μn, can be factored as a product of the classical Vandermonde determinant and a Schur function. On the other hand, we showed that when x = xn, the resulting polynomial in x is a Schur function which can be factored as a two-factors polynomial: the first is the constant ∏i=1n−1 xiμ1 times the monic polynomial ∏i=1n−1 (xxi, while the second is a polynomial PM(x) of degree M = mn−1 − n + 1. In this paper, we first present a typical application in which these factorizations arise and then we discuss a condition under which the polynomial PM (x) is monic.  相似文献

We study the convergence to the multiple Wiener-Itô integral from processes with absolutely continuous paths. More precisely, consider a family of processes, with paths in the Cameron-Martin space, that converges weakly to a standard Brownian motion in C0([0,T]). Using these processes, we construct a family that converges weakly, in the sense of the finite dimensional distributions, to the multiple Wiener-Itô integral process of a function fL2(n[0,T]). We prove also the weak convergence in the space C0([0,T]) to the second-order integral for two important families of processes that converge to a standard Brownian motion.  相似文献

In 1981, Dale Alspach modified the baker’s transform to produce the first example of a nonexpansive mapping T on a weakly compact convex subset C of a Banach space that is fixed point free. By Zorn’s lemma, there exist minimal weakly compact, convex subsets of C which are invariant under T and are fixed point free.In this paper we produce an explicit formula for the nth power of T, Tn, and prove that the sequence (Tnf)nN converges weakly to , for all fC. In this paper, we explore the nature of central idempotents of Schur rings over finite groups. We introduce the concept of a lattice Schur ring and explore properties of these kinds of Schur rings. In particular, the primitive, central idempotents of lattice Schur rings are completely determined. For a general Schur ring S, S contains a maximal lattice Schur ring, whose central, primitive idempotents form a system of pairwise orthogonal, central idempotents in S. We show that if S is a Schur ring with rational coefficients over a cyclic group, then these idempotents are always primitive and are spanned by the normal subgroups contained in S. Furthermore, a Wedderburn decomposition of Schur rings over cyclic groups is given. Some examples of Schur rings over non-cyclic groups will also be explored.  相似文献

In this paper we study a geometric property for Banach spaces called condition (*), introduced by de Reynaet al in [3], A Banach space has this property if for any weakly null sequencex n of unit vectors inX, ifx * n is any sequence of unit vectors inX * that attain their norm at xn’s, then . We show that a Banach space satisfies condition (*) for all equivalent norms iff the space has the Schur property. Schur’s lemma states that every Einstein manifold of dimension n?≥ 3 has constant scalar curvature. In this short note we ask to what extent the scalar curvature is constant if the traceless Ricci tensor is assumed to be small rather than identically zero. In particular, we provide an optimal L 2 estimate under suitable assumptions and show that these assumptions cannot be removed.  相似文献

Let X be a Banach space and C a bounded, closed, convex subset of X. C is said to have the weak-approximate fixed point property if for any norm-continuous mapping , there exists a sequence {xn} in C such that (xnfn(xn)) converges to 0 weakly. It is known that every infinite-dimensional Banach space with the Schur property does not have the weak-approximate fixed point property. In this article, we show that every Asplund space has the weak-approximate fixed point property. Applications to the asymptotic fixed point theory are given.  相似文献
