Tb-doped SrSi2O2N2 phosphors with promising luminescent properties were synthesized by the conventional solid-state reaction method, characterized by powder X-ray diffraction and studied by photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra. The synthesized materials exhibited a weak blue emission and a strong green emission in the region of 400-470 nm and 480-650 nm, which are attributed to 5D37Fj (j=5, 4, 3) and 5D47Fj (j=6, 5, 4, 3) transitions of Tb3+, respectively. The green emission from 5D47F5 at 543 nm showed the highest intensity under the optimized concentration of 0.1 mol, after which the quenching concentration became relevant. The quenching behavior of the emission of Tb3+ was explained by the cross-relaxation of its excited state.  相似文献

Ca3Sc2Si3O12 doped with 1 mol% Eu3+ and having a cubic garnet structure was prepared by a solid state reaction. The low temperature luminescence spectrum shows no measurable 5D07F0 band, in agreement with the location of the lanthanide dopant in a site of D2 symmetry, i.e. with a Ca2+ substitution. On the other hand, the spectrum is clearly dominated by the 5D07F4 band, which is significantly stronger than that for the other transitions originating from the 5D0 level. This unusual behavior is explained on the basis of a model describing the distortion of the EuO8 coordination polyhedron from a cubic geometry to the actual D2 one.  相似文献

The vibrational spectra of Eu[Co(CN)6]·4H2O and luminescence spectra of Eu3+ in this compound, using 355 nm excitation at temperatures down to 10 K, have been assigned. A clear distinction is made between the n=5 and 4 members of the Ln[M(CN)6nH2O series from the vibrational spectra. The electronic spectra show prominent vibronic structures, particularly for the 5D07F2 sideband. A resonance occurs between the transitions 5D07F1(III) and 5D07F0+ν(Eu−N). A crystal field analysis of the derived energy data set is presented for Eu3+ in eight coordination geometry.  相似文献

The title compounds (Sr0.96−xBa0.04)Al12−yMgyO19:Tbx (0<x<0.4; 0<y<0.18) are single-phase magnetoplumbite determined by X-ray powder diffraction analysis. The characteristic emission lines of 5D37Fj (j=2, 3, 4, 5) and 5D47Fj (j=4, 5, 6) of Tb3+ are recorded under the VUV excitation. The intensive luminescence mainly comes from 5D37Fj transition when the concentration of Tb3+ is low. However, when the concentration of Tb3+ starts to increase from very low concentration, 5D47Fj transition is becoming dominant. Three broad excitation bands at 165, 193 and 233 nm have been observed. The band at 165 nm originates from the overlap between the host absorption and the charge transfer of Tb3+-O2−. The other two broad bands are the first spin-allowed and the spin-forbidden of 4f-5d transition, respectively. The experimental observation of the 4f-5d transition of Tb3+ is consistent well with the theoretical expectations.  相似文献

Fluorophosphate glasses of composition, P2O5 + K2O + KF + MO + Al2O3 + xEu2O3 (M = Mg, Sr and Ba; x = 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0 and 6.0 mol%) were prepared and characterized their optical properties. Crystal-field (CF) analysis revealed a relatively weak CF strength around Eu3+ ions in the Ba based fluorophosphate glasses. The Judd-Ofelt parameters have been estimated from the oscillator strengths of 7F0 → 5D2, 7F0 → 5D4 and 7F0 → 5L6 absorption transitions of Eu3+ ions and were used to evaluate the radiative properties of the 5D0 → 7FJ (J = 0-4) transitions. Considerable variation has been observed in the relative intensity ratio of 5D0 → 7F2 to 5D0 → 7F1 transitions of Eu3+ ions due to change in the alkaline earth metal ions. The decay of the 5D0 level shows single exponential and less sensitive to Eu3+ ions concentration as well as MgO/SrO/BaO modifiers.  相似文献

In this work, Eu3+-doped lead borosilicate glasses (SiO2-B2O3-PbO2) synthesized by fusion method had their optical properties investigated as a function of temperature. Atomic Force Microscopy images obtained for a glass matrix annealed at 350 and 500 °C show a precipitated crystalline phase with sizes 11 and 21 nm, respectively. Besides, as the temperature increases from 350 to 300 K a strong Eu3+ photoluminescence (PL) enhancement takes place. This anomalous feature is attributed to the thermally activated carrier transfer process from nanocrystals and charged intrinsic defects states to Eu3+ energy levels. In addition, the PL peaks in this temperature range were assigned to the Eu3+ transitions 5D07F2, at 612 nm, 5D07F1, at 595 nm, and 5D07F0, at 585 nm. It was also observed that the 5D07F3 and 5D07F4 PL bands at 655 and 700 nm, respectively, show a continuous decrease in intensity as the temperature increases.  相似文献

A series of NaY1−yEuy(WO4)2−x(MoO4)x (x=0−2 and y=0.06−0.15) phosphors have been prepared by a combustion route. X-ray powder diffraction, photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra were used to characterize the resulting samples. The excitation spectra of these phosphors show the strongest absorption at about 396 nm, which matches well with the commercially available n-UV-emitting GaN-based LED chip. Their emission spectra show an intense red emission at 616 nm due to the 5D07F2 electric dipole transition of Eu3+. As the Mo content increases, the intensity of the 5D07F2 emission of Eu3+ activated at wavelength of 396 nm increases and reaches a maximum when the relative ratio of Mo/W is 2:3. The intense red-emission of the tungstomolybdate phosphors at near-UV excitation suggests that the material is a potential candidate for white light emitting diode (WLEDs).  相似文献

Intense photoluminescence at room temperature was observed in amorphous cadmium aluminum silicate doped with europium prepared by the sol-gel method. The structure of the 3CdO-Al2O3-3SiO2:Eu3+ system (CAS:Eu3+) has been determined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The excitation and the emission spectra indicated that the red characteristic emission (611 nm) of CAS:Eu3+ under UV excitation due to 5D07F2 electric dipole transition is the strongest. Both XRD data and the emission ratio of (5D07F2)/(5D07F1) reveal that the Eu3+ is in a site without inversion symmetry. The maximum photoluminescence intensity has been obtained for 25 mol% concentration of Eu3+ in CAS, and the intensity enhancement and lifetime increase of Eu3+ with increasing sintering temperature were observed due to the less OH-content in the samples.  相似文献

Eu3+-doped La2O3 nanocrystalline powder was prepared by polymer complex solution method and further used for preparation of Eu3+-doped La(OH)3. Structural and optical characterization was carried out by powder X-ray diffraction and photoluminescent spectroscopy. XRD measurements confirmed the formation of hexagonal La2O3 and its recrystallization into La(OH)3 in a humid atmosphere. Excitation spectra show redshift of host lattice and charge transfer emission bands in La(OH)3 while bands that correspond to Eu3+f–f transitions are placed at same wavelengths in both samples. Photoluminescence spectra recorded over the temperature range from 10 K to 300 K show that intensities of emission lines in Eu3+-doped La2O3 do not depend on temperature as much as in La(OH)3 sample. Observed dominant 5D07F2 and markedly visible 5D07F0 emissions in doped La2O3 indicate that Eu3+ ion is located in a structural site without an inversion center. On the other hand, in Eu3+-doped La(OH)35D07F0 transition is barely visible while 5D07F2 is not prominent, and with temperature drop three 5D07FJ (J=1, 2, 4) transitions become almost of the same intensity. In both La2O3 and La(OH)3 structures Eu3+ ion replaces La3+ in non-centrosymmetric C3v and C3h crystallographic sites, respectively, and difference in symmetry of the crystal field around europium ion is explained by comparing shape and volume of these sites. Decay times of the 5D0- level recorded over the temperature range 10−300 K revealed that emission lifetime values in La2O3 (~0.7 ms) are almost two times higher than in La(OH)3 (~0.4 ms), and unlike in La2O3, lifetime in La(OH)3 is temperature dependent.  相似文献

This paper reports the emission analysis of green-emitting Tb3+-doped MgAl2O4 phosphors. Uniformity of the phase of the Tb3+-doped MgAl2O4 phosphor has been checked by X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique and show common bands existing in the results of Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR). This phosphor exhibits weak blue, orange emissions and a strong emission at λexci=350 nm. The blue and green-orange emissions are ascribed to 5D37FJ and 5D47FJ (where J=3-6) transitions of Tb3+ ions, respectively. These phosphors have shown a strong, more prominent green emission from 5D47F5 at 543 nm. The results have indicated that MgAl2O4:Tb3+ could be a potential candidate as agreen-emitting powder phosphor.  相似文献

The co-doping of Li+ and Al3+ ions drastically enhances the luminescence of cubic Eu2O3. The integrated emission intensity of 5D07FJ bands (J=1-4) at 580-710 nm increases by a factor of about 6.7 in the co-doped Eu2O3 compared to the un-doped Eu2O3. In order to confirm that the co-doped ions were actually incorporated into the host lattice, the structural characteristics were studied using Raman spectroscopy, XPS, XRD, photoluminescence lifetime, and an SEM. These analyses consistently indicate a certain structural evolution in their results with an increase in the co-doping concentration. Variations in the crystal structure, the crystal morphology, and the intensity variation of the Raman modes at 465 and 483 cm−1 are presented as the evidences showing the incorporation of the co-doped ions into the host. The luminescence enhancement is discussed in terms of concentration quenching, reduction of defect sites, and the modification of the local symmetry of the Eu3+ ions, especially in the inversion symmetry sites.  相似文献

Upconversion (UC) luminescence in monodisperse NaYF4:Yb3+/Tb3+ nanocrystals was observed under diode laser excitation of 970 nm, which were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. UC emissions at 380, 413, 436 nm and at 488, 542, 584, 620 nm arise from transitions 5D3(5G6) → 7FJ(J = 6, 5, 4) and 5D4 → 7FJ(J = 6, 5, 4, 3) of Tb3+ ions, respectively. UC mechanisms are proposed based on spectral, kinetic, decay time measurements, and pump power dependence analyses. Blue, green and red emissions originate from the same long-lived (milliseconds) upper 5D4 state, which promises the potential applications of these monodisperse Yb3+/Tb3+-codoped NaYF4 nanocrystals in the field of photonics, lasers and biomedicine.  相似文献

In this article we apply a model, based on the combined effect of a polarizable chemical environment (the Pseudo-Multipolar Field) and the mixing between J-levels, to study the 5D07F0 intensity of the Eu3+ ion in the {(C4H9)4N}3Y(NCS)6 host. Good agreement is found between theory and experiment. The results are discussed.  相似文献

Lithium titanate ceramics doped with three rare earth (RE) ions namely Eu3+, Dy3+ and Tb3+ were synthesized and their photoluminescence (PL) properties were investigated. PL spectra of Eu doped sample showed peaks corresponding to the 5D07Fj (j=0, 1, 2, 3 and 4) transitions under 230 nm excitation. Strong red emission coming from the hypersensitive 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+ ion suggested the presence of the dopant ion in a highly asymmetric environment. Dy doped samples showed the Dy3+ emission characteristic due to 4F9/26H15/2 and 4F9/26H13/2 transitions. Their relative intensity ratios also suggested the presence of asymmetric environment around the metal ion. In case of the Tb3+ doped sample blue-green emission corresponding to the 5D47Fj (j=6, 5 and 4) transitions was seen. The fluorescence lifetimes of Eu3+, Dy3+ and Tb3+ ions were found to be 645, 900 and 740 μs, respectively. PL intensity of the individual rare earth doped samples was compared with commercial red and green phosphors. It was found that the emission from Eu doped titanate sample was 46% of the commercial red phosphor and in case of the Tb samples it was 30% when excited at 230 nm. However, the synthesized Eu doped titanate sample showed better color purity as compared to the commercial phosphor. The titanate host was doped with all the three rare earths to get white light emission from the system. The individual rare earth ion content was optimized so as to get a near white light emission. The color coordinates of the triple doped systems were evaluated and plotted on the CIE xy diagram. Our results suggest that lithium titanate has enough potential to be a phosphor material.  相似文献

Eu3+ activated M6AlP5O20 (where M=Sr/Ba/Mg) phosphors prepared by combustion synthesis and the completion of the synthesis was confirm by XRD (X-ray diffraction) patterns. The surface morphology studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL) properties has been reported in this paper. The Eu3+ PL emission spectrum was observed in M6AlP5O20 phosphors (where M=Sr/Ba/Mg) at 592 (orange) and 618 nm (red) region, the spectrum due to 5D07F1 and 5D07F2 transitions at mercury free excitation, respectively. Its considerable emission intensity under 350 nm excitations makes it possible candidate materials as red component of tricolor luminescence materials and for near ultra violet light emitting diode (n-UVLED) phosphors.  相似文献

Synthesis and photoluminescence (PL) investigations of lithium metasilicate doped with Eu3+, Tb3+ and Ce3+ were carried out. PL spectra of Eu-doped sample showed peaks corresponding to the 5D07Fj (j=1, 2, 3 and 4) transitions under ultraviolet excitation. Strong red emission coming from the hypersensitive 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+ ion suggested the presence of the dopant ion in structurally disordered environment. Tb3+-doped silicate sample showed blue-green emission corresponding to the 5D47Fj (j=6, 5 and 4) transitions. Ce-doped sample under excitation from UV, showed a broad emission band in the region 350-370 nm with shoulders around 410 nm. The fluorescence lifetimes of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions were found out to be 790 and 600 μs, respectively. For Ce3+, the lifetime was of the order of 45 ns. PL spectra of the europium- and terbium-doped samples were compared with commercial red (Y2O3:Eu3+) and green (LaPO4:Tb3+) phosphors, respectively. It was found that the emission from the doped silicate sample was 37% of the commercial phosphor in case of the Tb-doped sample and 8% of the commercial phosphor in case of the Eu-doped sample.  相似文献

We have studied the optical absorption spectra of trivalent lanthanide(III) β-diketones. The enhancement in intensity of the hypersensitive transitions of Eu(III) 5D07F2 and Tb(III) 5D47F5 and 5D47F2 complexes was observed in various solution mediums. The oscillator strength for the intraconfigurational transitions has been determined using Judd-Ofelt theory. The change in the oscillator strength and band shape with respect to solvent type is rationalized in terms of ligand (solvent) structure and coordination properties. The intensity of hypersensitive transitions is found to be highly influenced in DMF solution. Electronic spectral studies of the Pr(III) and Nd(III) complexes in different solvents, which differ with respect to donor atoms, reveal that the chemical environment around the lanthanide ion has great impact on f-f transitions and any change in the environment in terms of solvent results in modifications of the spectra.  相似文献

Phosphate (P2O5+K2O+BaO+Al2O3+Eu2O3) and fluorophosphate (P2O5+K2O+BaO+BaF2+Al2O3+Eu2O3) glasses with different Eu3+ ion concentrations have been prepared and characterized through optical absorption, photoluminescence and decay times. An intense red luminescence is observed from the 5D0 emitting level of Eu3+ ions in these glasses. The relative luminescence intensity ratio of 5D07F25D07F1 transitions has been evaluated to estimate the local site symmetry around the Eu3+ ions. The emission spectra of these glasses show a complete removal of degeneracy for the 5D07F1 and 5D07F2 transitions. Second and fourth rank crystal-field (CF) parameters have been calculated together with the CF strength parameter by assuming the C2v symmetry for the Eu3+ ions in both the phosphate and fluorophosphate glasses. Judd-Ofelt parameters have been evaluated from the luminescence intensity ratios of 5D07FJ (J=2, 4 and 6) to 5D07F1 transitions. These parameters have been used to derive radiative properties such as transition probabilities, branching ratios, radiative lifetimes and peak stimulated emission cross-sections for the 5D07FJ transitions. Decay curves of the 5D0 level of Eu3+ ions in these two Eu3+:glass systems have been measured by monitoring the 5D07F2 transition (611 nm) at room temperature. The experimental lifetime of the 5D0 level in the title glasses is found to be higher than Eu3+-doped niobium phosphate glasses. The analysis indicates that the lifetime of the 5D0 level is found to be less sensitive to the Eu3+ ion concentration and addition of BaF2 has no significant effect on the optical properties of Eu3+-doped phosphate glasses.  相似文献

A sol-gel technique emphasizing the Pechini process has been employed for the preparation of nano-crystal Eu3+-doped YVO4 phosphor. The precursor powders were heated at 800 °C for 3 h to obtain good crystallinity with better luminescence. XRD results indicate that the second phase is not presented when the Eu3+ ion concentration is increased up to 50 mol%. The absorption and photoluminescent (PL) studies indicated that the energy is absorbed first by the host and then transferred to the emitting level of the Eu3+ ions. Excitation at 318 nm in terms of Eu3+ concentrations in YVO4 powders shows that the YVO4 phosphors display bright red luminescence at about 618 nm belonging to the 5D07F2 electric dipole transition, and a weak band in the orange region of the 5D07F1 transition at 594 nm. In addition, the time-resolved 5D07F2 transition presents a single-exponential decay behavior, revealing the decay mechanism of the 5D07F2 transition is a single decay component between Eu3+ ions only. The saturation of the emission intensity excited by the CTS when the Eu3+ concentration is 10 mol%. The concentration quenching is active when the Eu3+ concentration is larger than 10 mol%, and the critical distance is about 5.75 Å.  相似文献

Detailed analyses of spectroscopic and temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility data are reported for the crystal-field split energy levels of the 7FJ and 5D4 of Tb3+ in stoichiometric single crystals of ortho-aluminate TbAlO3. The spectroscopic data include absorption spectra obtained between 2940 and 480 nm from 8 to 300 K. High resolution fluorescence spectra are reported, representing transitions from 5D4 to 7F6,5,4, at a sample temperature of 85 K. Using crystal-field modeling techniques recently adapted for low symmetry systems, we have assigned all 58 experimental Stark levels within the 7FJ and 5D4 manifolds, with a fitting standard deviation of 4.5 cm−1 (3.8 cm−1 rms error). As a further test, the theoretical Stark levels and calculated wavefunctions were used to determine the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility along the c-axis of the TbAlO3 crystal. Good agreement is obtained between the calculated susceptibility and temperature-dependent magnetic data reported earlier, including a prediction of a 0.2 cm−1 splitting of the ground-state quasi-doublet. The susceptibility calculation also confirms the predicted ordering of states within the 7F6 multiplet manifold.  相似文献
