Here we obtain explicit black hole solutions in Extension Gravity models with high-order derivative terms, while the Lichnerowicz-type theorem simplifies our analysis by vanishing Ricci's scalar curvature. We find out two explicit static, spherical solutions that satisfy the presented action: the first one is the same usual Schwarzschild solution and the other one is the new non-Schwarzschild solution. It means that Schwarzschild's solution following the no-hair theorem can describe any black hole object on each gravity theory. Without considering the first law of thermodynamics for it, we show that the non-Schwarzschild solution is depending on its set of constants, and then we consider its entropy and other thermodynamic parameters for specific values of the constants.  相似文献

In models with a low quantum gravity scale, fast proton decay can be avoided by localizing quarks and leptons to separated positions in an extra 1/TeV sized dimension with gauge and Higgs fields living throughout. Black holes with masses of the order of the quantum gravity scale are therefore expected to evaporate nonuniversally, preferentially radiating directly into quarks or leptons but not both. Should black holes be copiously produced at a future hadron collider, we find the ratio of final state jets to charged leptons to photons is 113:8:1, which differs from previous analyses that assumed all standard model fields live at the same point in the extra dimensional space.  相似文献

We recalculate the beta functions of higher-derivative gravity in four dimensions using the one-loop approximation to an exact renormalization group equation. We reproduce the beta functions of the dimensionless couplings that were known in the literature, but we find new terms for the beta functions of Newton's constant and of the cosmological constant. As a result, the theory appears to be asymptotically safe at a non-Gaussian fixed point rather than perturbatively renormalizable and asymptotically free.  相似文献

We study accelerating cosmological solutions of a general class of non-linear gravities which depend on Gauss–Bonnet and other higher derivative invariants. To achieve this goal a local formulation with auxiliary scalars for arbitrary higher-derivative non-local gravity is developed. It is demonstrated that non-local Gauss–Bonnet gravity can be reduced, in the local formulation, to a model of string-inspired scalar-Gauss–Bonnet gravity. A natural unification, in the theory here developed, of the early-time inflation epoch with a late-time acceleration stage can also be realized.  相似文献

We study the black hole evaporation and Hawking radiation for a noncommutative charged Vaidya black hole. For this purpose, we determine a spherically symmetric charged Vaidya model and then formulate a noncommutative Reissner-Nordstr?m-like solution of this model, which leads to an exact (t ? r)-dependent metric. The behavior of the temporal component of this metric and the corresponding Hawking temperature are investigated. The results are shown in the form of graphs. Further, we examine the tunneling process of charged massive particles through the quantum horizon. We find that the tunneling amplitude is modified due to noncommutativity. Also, it turns out that the black hole evaporates completely in the limits of large time and horizon radius. The effect of charge is to reduce the temperature from a maximum value to zero. We note that the final stage of black hole evaporation is a naked singularity.  相似文献

Using a derivation of black hole radiance in terms of two-point functions one can provide a quantitative estimate of the contribution of short distances to the spectrum. Thermality is preserved for black holes with kappalp<1. However, deviations from the Planckian spectrum can be found for mini black holes in TeV gravity scenarios, even before reaching the Planck phase.  相似文献

Higher-derivative contributions to the three-graviton vertex are calculated for 4-derivative quantum gravity, and its divergence is analyzed. It is shown that new divergences exist in the theory.  相似文献

Based on the micro-black hole gedanken experiment as well as on general considerations of quantum mechanics and gravity the generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) is analyzed by using the running Newton constant. The result is used to decide between the GUP and quantum gravitational effects as a possible mechanism leading to the black hole remnants of about Planck mass.  相似文献

A theorem is proven that the only possible exterior solution for a pseudostationary, rotating, electrovacuum black hole with nondegenerate event horizon is the Kerr-Newman solution withM 2-J2/M2-Q2>0. A special role played in the proof of this theorem by the hidden symmetry groupSU(1, 2) of Einstein's equations is established. This essay received the third award from the Gravity Research Foundation for the year 1983 [Ed.].  相似文献
