We consider one dimensional isentropic compressible Navier–Stokes equations with constitutive relation of Maxwell's law instead of Newtonion law. For this new model, we show that for small initial data, a unique smooth solution exists globally and converges to the equilibrium state as time goes to infinity. For some large data, in contrast to the situation for classical compressible Navier–Stokes equations, which admits global solutions, we show finite time blow up of solutions for the relaxed system. Moreover, we prove the compatibility of the two systems in the sense that, for vanishing relaxation parameters, the solutions to the relaxed system are shown to converge to the solutions of classical system.  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is concerned with blow‐up smooth solutions to Navier–Stokes–Poisson (N‐S‐P) equations. First, we present a sufficient condition on the blow up of smooth solutions to the N‐S‐P system. Then we construct a family of analytical solutions that blow up in finite time. We establish a local well‐posedness and a blow‐up criterion of strong solutions for the compressible Navier‐Stokes‐Fourier‐P1 approximate model arising in radiation hydrodynamics. For the local well‐posedness result, we do not need the assumption on the positivity of the initial density and it may vanish in an open subset of the domain.  相似文献

In this study, we discuss some limit analysis of a viscous capillary model of plasma, which is expressed as a so‐called the compressible Navier‐Stokes‐Poisson‐Korteweg equation. First, the existence of global smooth solutions for the initial value problem to the compressible Navier‐Stokes‐Poisson‐Korteweg equation with a given Debye length λ and a given capillary coefficient κ is obtained. We also show the uniform estimates of global smooth solutions with respect to the Debye length λ and the capillary coefficient κ. Then, from Aubin lemma, we show that the unique smooth solution of the 3‐dimensional Navier‐Stokes‐Poisson‐Korteweg equations converges globally in time to the strong solution of the corresponding limit equations, as λ tends to zero, κ tends to zero, and λ and κ simultaneously tend to zero. Moreover, we also give the convergence rates of these limits for any given positive time one by one.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the large‐time decay and stability to any given global smooth solutions of the 3‐D incompressible inhomogeneous Navier‐Stokes equations. In particular, we prove that given any global smooth solution (a,u) of (1.2), the velocity field u decays to 0 with an explicit rate, which coincides with the L2 norm decay for the weak solutions of the 3‐D classical Navier‐Stokes system [26,29] as t goes to ∞. Moreover, a small perturbation to the initial data of (a,u) still generates a unique global smooth solution to (1.2), and this solution keeps close to the reference solution (a,u) for t > 0. We should point out that the main results in this paper work for large solutions of (1.2). © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the sequential stability of weak solutions over time, in relation to the Navier–Stokes system of compressible self‐gravitating fluids in a three‐dimensional domain. As a byproduct, we show that there exists at least one non‐negative solution to the stationary problem in any bounded domain with a given mass for the adiabatic constant γ > 3 ∕ 2. In particular, for the spherically symmetric case, these conclusions still hold for γ > 4 ∕ 3 or γ = 4 ∕ 3 with a small mass. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the short time strong solutions for Cauchy problem to a simplified Ericksen–Leslie system of compressible nematic liquid crystals in two dimensions with vacuum as far field density. We establish a blow‐up criterion for possible breakdown of such solutions at a finite time, which is analogous to the well‐known Serrin's blow‐up criterion for the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations. In this study, we consider a viscous compressible model of plasma and semiconductors, which is expressed as a compressible Navier‐Stokes‐Poisson equation. We prove that there exists a strong solution to the boundary value problem of the steady compressible Navier‐Stokes‐Poisson equation with large external forces in bounded domain, provided that the ratio of the electron/ions mass is appropriately small. Moreover, the zero‐electron‐mass limit of the strong solutions is rigorously verified. The main idea in the proof is to split the original equation into 4 parts, a system of stationary incompressible Navier‐Stokes equations with large forces, a system of stationary compressible Navier‐Stokes equations with small forces, coupled with 2 Poisson equations. Based on the known results about linear incompressible Navier‐Stokes equation, linear compressible Navier‐Stokes, linear transport, and Poisson equations, we try to establish uniform in the ratio of the electron/ions mass a priori estimates. Further, using Schauder fixed point theorem, we can show the existence of a strong solution to the boundary value problem of the steady compressible Navier‐Stokes‐Poisson equation with large external forces. At the same time, from the uniform a priori estimates, we present the zero‐electron‐mass limit of the strong solutions, which converge to the solutions of the corresponding incompressible Navier‐Stokes‐Poisson equations.  相似文献

In this paper, the Cauchy problem to the two‐dimensional isentropic compressible Navier–Stokes equations with smooth initial data containing vacuum is investigated. If the initial data are of small energy but possibly large oscillations, we obtain the global well‐posedness of classical solutions in the case of initially nonvacuum far fields. In particular, the smallness of the energy only depends on the norm of the initial velocity, where β can be arbitrary close to 0. In the case of compactly supported initial density, a blow‐up example is given. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Kato, Ponce, Beale and Majda prove the existence and uniqueness of maximal solution of Euler and Navier–Stokes equations and some blow‐up criterion. In the periodic case, we establish that if the maximum time T* is finite, then the growth of is at least of the order of (T* ? t)?2m / 5. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We consider the steady compressible Navier–Stokes equations of isentropic flow in three‐dimensional domains with several exits to infinity with prescribed pressure drops. On the one hand, when each exit is supposed to contain a cone inside, we shall construct bounded energy weak solution for adiabatic constant γ>3. On the other hand, when the exits do not open sufficiently rapidly, we shall prove a non‐existence result. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the existence and uniqueness of the weak solution of the one‐dimensional compressible Navier–Stokes equations with density‐dependent viscosity µ(ρ)=ρθ with θ∈(0, γ?2], γ>1. The initial data are a perturbation of a corresponding steady solution and continuously contact with vacuum on the free boundary. The obtained results apply for the one‐dimensional Siant–Venant model of shallow water and generalize ones in (Arch. Rational Mech. Anal. 2006; 182: 223–253). In this paper, we consider the existence of global smooth solutions to 1D compressible isentropic Navier–Stokes equations with density‐dependent viscosity and free boundaries. The initial density ρ0W1,2n is bounded below away from zero and the initial velocity u0L2n. The viscosity coefficient µ is proportional to ρθ with 0<θ?1, where ρis the density. The existence and uniqueness of global solutions in Hi([0,1])(i = 1,2,4) have been established in (J. Math. Phys. 2009; 50 :023101; Meth. Appl. Anal. 2005; 12 :239–252; J. Differ. Equations 2008; 245:3956–3973; Commun. Pure Appl. Anal. 2008; 7 :373–381). By mathematical induction method, we will establish the existence of global smooth solutions to 1D compressible isentropic Navier–Stokes equations with density‐dependent viscosity and free boundaries when the initial data ρ0 and u0 are smooth. In this article we analyze a finite element method for three‐dimensional unsteady compressible Navier‐Stokes equations. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the numerical solution, and obtain a priori error estimates uniform in time. Numerical computations are carried out to test the orders of accuracy in the error estimates. Blend function interpolations are applied in the calculation of numerical integrations. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq 20: 432–449, 2004.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the blow-up of the smooth solutions to a simplified Ericksen-Lesile system for compressible flows of nematic liquid crystals in different dimensional case. We prove that whether the smooth solution of the Cauchy problem or the initial-boundary problem to the nematic liquid crystal system will blow up in finite time. The main technique is the construction of the functional differential inequality.  相似文献

We are concerned with the study of the Cauchy problem for the Navier–Stokes–Poisson system in the critical regularity framework. In the case of a repulsive potential, we first establish the unique global solvability in any dimension for small perturbations of a linearly stable constant state. Next, under a suitable additional condition involving only the low frequencies of the data and in the L2‐critical framework (for simplicity), we exhibit optimal decay estimates for the constructed global solutions, which are similar to those of the barotropic compressible Navier–Stokes system. Our results rely on new a priori estimates for the linearized Navier–Stokes–Poisson system about a stable constant equilibrium, and on a refined time‐weighted energy functional.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global existence of classical solutions to the three‐dimensional compressible Navier–Stokes equations with a density‐dependent viscosity coefficient (λ = λ(ρ)). For the general initial data, which could be either vacuum or non‐vacuum, we prove the global existence of classical solutions, under the assumption that the viscosity coefficient μ is large enough. In this paper, we study the zero viscosity and capillarity limit problem for the one‐dimensional compressible isentropic Navier–Stokes–Korteweg equations when the corresponding Euler equations have rarefaction wave solutions. In the case that either the effects of initial layer are ignored or the rarefaction waves are smooth, we prove that the solutions of the Navier–Stokes–Korteweg equation with centered rarefaction wave data exist for all time and converge to the centered rarefaction waves as the viscosity and capillarity number vanish, and we also obtain a rate of convergence, which is valid uniformly for all time. These results are showed by a scaling argument and elementary energy analysis. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the global existence and asymptotic behavior, as time tends to infinity, of solutions in Hi (i=1, 2) to the initial boundary value problem of the compressible Navier–Stokes equations of one‐dimensional motion of a viscous heat‐conducting gas in a bounded region with a non‐autonomous external force and a heat source. Some new ideas and more delicate estimates are used to prove these results. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
