In 2002–2003, Paumier studied the Signorini problem with friction in the linear Kirchhoff–Love theory of plates using the convergence method. In 2008, Léger and Miara generalized this study to the case of linearized shallow shell but without friction. In this paper, we study two‐dimensional Euler equations in a domain with small depth. With this aim, we introduce a small non‐dimensional parameter ε related to the depth and we use asymptotic analysis to study what happens when ε becomes small. We obtain a model for ε small that, after coming back to the original domain, gives us a shallow water model that considers the possibility of a non‐constant bottom, and the horizontal velocity has a dependence on z introduced by the vorticity when it is not zero. This represents an interesting novelty with respect to shallow water models found in the literature. We stand out that we do not need to make a priori assumptions about velocity or pressure behaviour to obtain the model. The new model is able to approximate the solutions to Euler equations with dependence on z (reobtaining the same velocities profile), whereas the classic model just obtains the average velocity. In this paper, we consider a linearly elastic shell, i.e. a three-dimensional linearly elastic body with a small thickness denoted by 2ε, which is clamped along its part of the lateral boundary and subjected to the regular loads. In the linear case, one can use the two-dimensional models of Ciarlet or Koiter to calculate the displacement for the shell. Some error estimates between the approximate solution of these models and the three-dimensional displacement vector field of a flexural or membrane shell have been obtained. Here we give a new model for a linear and nonlinear shell, prove that there exists a unique solution U of the two-dimensional variational problem and construct a three-dimensional approximate solutions UKT(x,ξ) in terms of U: We also provide the error estimates between our model and the three-dimensional displacement vector field :‖u-UKT‖1,Ω≤C∈r,r=3/2, an elliptic membrane, r = 1/2, a general membrane, where C is a constant dependent only upon the data‖u‖3,Ω,‖UKT‖3,Ω,θ.  相似文献

In this paper, the asymptotic expansions of stress tensor for linearly elastic shell have been proposed by new asymptotic analysis method, which is different from the classical asymptotic analysis. The new asymptotic analysis method has two distinguishing features: one is that the displacement is expanded with respect to the thickness variable of the middle surface not to the thickness; another is that the first order term and the second order term of the displacement variable can be algebraically expressed by the leading term. To decompose stress tensor totally into 2-D variable and thickness variable, we have three steps: operator splitting, variables separation and dimension splitting. In the end, a numerical experiment of special hemispherical shell by FEM (finite element method) is provided. We derive the distribution of displacements and stress fields in the middle surface.  相似文献

Based on Giannakopoulos’s 2-D functionally graded material (FGM) contact model, a modified contact model is put forward to deal with impact problem of the functionally graded shallow spherical shell in thermal environment. The FGM shallow spherical shell, having temperature dependent material property, is subjected to a temperature field uniform over the shell surface but varying along the thickness direction due to steady-state heat conduction. The displacement field and geometrical relations of the FGM shallow spherical shell are established on the basis of TimoshenkoMidlin theory. And the nonlinear motion equations of the FGM shallow spherical shell under low velocity impact in thermal environment are founded in terms of displacement variable functions. Using the orthogonal collocation point method and the Newmark method to discretize the unknown variable functions in space and in time domain, the whole problem is solved by the iterative method. In numerical examples, the contact force and nonlinear dynamic response of the FGM shallow spherical shell under low velocity impact are investigated and effects of temperature field, material and geometrical parameters on contact force and dynamic response of the FGM shallow spherical shell are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the problem of a deflected mode of a shallow shell. The stress function and the normal component of the displacement of the median surface of the shell are unknown functions. We propose a mixed variational statement of the problem, where the second derivatives of the stress function and the normal component of the displacement of the median surface are additional unknowns. This enables us to construct the finite element approximation of the initial problem. We prove the existence of a unique solution of the approximating problem and estimate the rate of convergence of the discrete solution.  相似文献

The stability of a thin, elastic, spherical shell with absolutely fixed support contour loaded by a uniform external pressure is examined within the framework of perturbation theory in the Koiter— Fitch form /1,2/. We consider a variant of a Koiter shell model based on the intrinsic geometry methods of Michael Delfour and Jean-Paul Zolésio. This model, derived in [J. Cagnol, I. Lasiecka, C. Lebiedzik, J.-P. Zolésio, Uniform stability in structural acoustic models with flexible curved walls, J. Differential Equations 186 (1) (2003) 88-121], relies heavily on the oriented distance function which describes the geometry. Here, we establish continuous observability estimates in the Dirichlet case with an explicit observability time, under an additional shallowness assumption and a checkable geometric condition. This yields (by duality) exact controllability for this class of intrinsically modelled shells.  相似文献

We consider a sequence of curved rods which consist of isotropic material and which are clamped on the lower base or on both bases. We study the asymptotic behaviour of the stress tensor and displacement under the assumptions of linearized elasticity when the cross‐sectional diameter of the rods tends to zero and the body force is given in the particular form. The analysis covers the case of a non‐smooth limit line of centroids. We show how the body force and the choice of the approximating curved rods can affect the strong convergence and the limit form of the stress tensor for the curved rods clamped on both bases. We consider a class of closed multiclass queueing networks containing First-Come-First-Serve (FCFS) and Infinite Server (IS) stations. These networks have a productform solution for their equilibrium probabilities. We study these networks in an asymptotic regime for which the number of customers and the service rates at the FCFS stations go to infinity with the same order. We assume that the regime is in critical usage, whereby the utilizations of the FCFS servers slowly approach one. The asymptotic distribution of the normalized queue lengths is shown to be in many cases a truncated multivariate normal distribution. Traffic conditions for which the normalized queue lengths arealmost asymptotically independent are determined. Asymptotic expansions of utilizations and expected queue lengths are presented. We show through an example how to obtain asymptotic expansions of performance measures when the networks are in mixed usage and how to apply the results to networks with finite data.Supported partially by NSF grant NCR93-04601.  相似文献

We study the nonstationary flow of an incompressible fluid in a thin rectangle with an elastic plate as the upper part of the boundary. The flow is governed by a time-dependent pressure drop and an external force and it is modeled by Stokes equations. The dynamic of this fluid–structure interaction problem is studied in the limit when the thickness of the fluid domain tends to zero. Using the asymptotic techniques, we obtain for the effective plate displacement a sixth-order parabolic equation with a non standard boundary conditions. Results on existence, uniqueness and regularity of the solution are proved. The approximation is justified through a weak convergence theorem.  相似文献

We provide an asymptotic analysis of multi-objective sequential stochastic assignment problems (MOSSAP). In MOSSAP, a fixed number of tasks arrive sequentially, with an n-dimensional value vector revealed upon arrival. Each task is assigned to one of a group of known workers immediately upon arrival, with the reward given by an n-dimensional product-form vector. The objective is to maximize each component of the expected reward vector. We provide expressions for the asymptotic expected reward per task for each component of the reward vector and compare the convergence rates for three classes of Pareto optimal policies.  相似文献

We consider a thin elastic plate with piezo patches mounted on top of it. Electrodes are located on the upper and, depending on the devices, at the lower surface of the patches. This piezo actuator is coupled to an elastic body. We develop an asymptotic procedure to derive a two‐dimensional approximation of the entire structure. As a result, we obtain an inhomogeneous fourth‐order plate equation with piecewise smooth coefficients for the vertical displacement coupled to a second‐order in‐plane problem. The analysis and the resulting asymptotic limits help clarifying the modeling issue concerning active piezo devices in multidimensional smart structures. This paper deals with asymptotic analysis of a parabolic system with inner absorptions and coupled nonlinear boundary fluxes. Three simultaneous blow-up rates are established under different dominations of nonlinearities, and simply represented in a characteristic algebraic system introduced for the problem. In particular, it is observed that two of the multiple blow-up rates are absorption-related. This is substantially different from those for nonlinear parabolic problems with absorptions in all the previous literature, where the blow-up rates were known as absorptionindependent. The results of the paper rely on the scaling method with a complete classification for the nonlinear parameters of the model. The first example of absorption-related blow-up rates was recently proposed by the authors for a coupled parabolic system with mixed type nonlinearities. The present paper shows that the newly observed phenomena of absorptionrelated blow-up rates should be due to the coupling mechanism, rather than the mixed type nonlinearities.   相似文献

We are concerned with asymptotic analysis for linear difference equations in a locally convex space. First we introduce the profile operator, which plays a central role in analyzing the asymptotic behaviors of the solutions. Then factorial asymptotic expansions for the solutions are given quite explicitly. Finally we obtain Gevrey estimates for the solutions. In a forthcoming paper we will develop the theory of cohomology groups for recurrence relations. The main results in this paper lay analytic foundations of such an algebraic theory, while they are of intrinsic interest in the theory of finite differences.

We consider an optimal control problem posed on a domain with a highly oscillating smooth boundary where the controls are applied on the oscillating part of the boundary. There are many results on domains with oscillating boundaries where the oscillations are pillar‐type (non‐smooth) while the literature on smooth oscillating boundary is very few. In this article, we use appropriate scaling on the controls acting on the oscillating boundary leading to different limit control problems, namely, boundary optimal control and interior optimal control problem. In the last part of the article, we visualize the domains as a branched structure, and we introduce unfolding operators to get contributions from each level at every branch.  相似文献
