General nonlinear difference equations with time‐varying delays are considered. Explicit criteria for contraction of such equations are presented. Then some simple sufficient conditions for global exponential stability of equilibria and for stability of invariant sets are derived. Furthermore, explicit criteria for existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of periodic solutions are derived. Finally, the obtained results are applied to time‐varying discrete‐time neural networks with delay.  相似文献

In this paper, a new method to solve space–time‐dependent non‐linear equations is proposed. After considering the variable coefficient of a non‐linear equation as a new dependent variable, some special types of space–time‐dependent equations can be solved from corresponding space–time‐independent equations by using the general classical Lie approach. The rich soliton solutions of space–time‐dependent KdV equation and mKdV equation are given with the help of the approach. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This research gives a complete Lie group classification of the one‐dimensional nonlinear delay Klein–Gordon equation. First, the determining equations are derived and their complete solutions are found. Then the complete group classification and representations of all invariant solutions are obtained. The critical delays of a delay‐differential equation can be computed by solving a nonlinear two‐parameter eigenvalue problem. The solution of this two‐parameter problem can be translated to solving a quadratic eigenvalue problem of squared dimension. We present a structure preserving QR‐type method for solving such quadratic eigenvalue problem that only computes real‐valued critical delays; that is, complex critical delays, which have no physical meaning, are discarded. For large‐scale problems, we propose new correction equations for a Newton‐type or Jacobi–Davidson style method, which also forces real‐valued critical delays. We present three different equations: one real‐valued equation using a direct linear system solver, one complex valued equation using a direct linear system solver, and one Jacobi–Davidson style correction equation that is suitable for an iterative linear system solver. We show numerical examples for large‐scale problems arising from PDEs. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the well‐posedness for time‐space fractional Ginzburg‐Landau equation and time‐space fractional Navier‐Stokes equations by α‐stable noise. The spatial regularity and the temporal regularity of the nonlocal stochastic convolution are firstly established, and then the existence and uniqueness of the global mild solution are obtained by the Banach fixed point theorem and Mittag‐Leffler functions, respectively. Numerical simulations for time‐space fractional Ginzburg‐Landau equation are provided to verify the analysis results.  相似文献

The method for constructing first integrals and general solutions of nonlinear ordinary differential equations is presented. The method is based on index accounting of the Fuchs indices, which appeared during the Painlevé test of a nonlinear differential equation. The Fuchs indices indicate us the leading members of the first integrals for the origin differential equation. Taking into account the values of the Fuchs indices, we can construct the auxiliary equation, which allows to look for the first integrals of nonlinear differential equations. The method is used to obtain the first integrals and general solutions of the KdV‐Burgers and the mKdV‐Burgers equations with a source. The nonautonomous first integrals in the polynomials form are found. The general solutions of these nonlinear differential equations under at some additional conditions on the parameters of differential equations are also obtained. Illustrations of some solutions of the KdV‐Burgers and the mKdV‐Burgers are given.  相似文献

This study examines finite‐time synchronization for a class of N‐coupled complex partial differential systems (PDSs) with time‐varying delay. The problem of finite‐time synchronization for coupled drive‐response PDSs with time‐varying delay is similarly considered. The synchronization error dynamic of the PDSs is defined in the q‐dimensional spatial domain. We construct a feedback controller to achieve finite‐time synchronization. Sufficient conditions are derived by using the Lyapunov‐Krasoviskii stability approach and inequalities technology to ensure that the proposed networks achieve synchronization in finite time. The proposed systems demonstrate extensive application. Finally, an example is used to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

This paper aims to formulate the fractional quasi‐inverse scattering method. Also, we give a positive answer to the following question: can the Ablowitz‐Kaup‐Newell‐Segur (AKNS) method be applied to the space–time fractional nonlinear differential equations? Besides, we derive the Bäcklund transformations for the fractional systems under study. Also, we construct the fractional quasi‐conservation laws for the considered fractional equations from the defined fractional quasi AKNS‐like system. The nonlinear fractional differential equations to be studied are the space–time fractional versions of the Kortweg‐de Vries equation, modified Kortweg‐de Vries equation, the sine‐Gordon equation, the sinh‐Gordon equation, the Liouville equation, the cosh‐Gordon equation, the short pulse equation, and the nonlinear Schrödinger equation.  相似文献

Fractional advection‐dispersion equations are used in groundwater hydrologhy to model the transport of passive tracers carried by fluid flow in a porous medium. In this paper we present two reliable algorithms, the Adomian decomposition method and variational iteration method, to construct numerical solutions of the space‐time fractional advection‐dispersion equation in the form of a rabidly convergent series with easily computable components. The fractional derivatives are described in the Caputo sense. Some examples are given. Numerical results show that the two approaches are easy to implement and accurate when applied to space‐time fractional advection‐dispersion equations. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this article, we introduce a high‐order accurate method for solving one‐space dimensional linear hyperbolic equation. We apply a compact finite difference approximation of fourth order for discretizing spatial derivative of linear hyperbolic equation and collocation method for the time component. The main property of this method additional to its high‐order accuracy due to the fourth order discretization of spatial derivative, is its unconditionally stability. In this technique the solution is approximated by a polynomial at each grid point that its coefficients are determined by solving a linear system of equations. Numerical results show that the compact finite difference approximation of fourth order and collocation method produce a very efficient method for solving the one‐space‐dimensional linear hyperbolic equation. The purpose of this paper is to establish unique solvability for a certain generalized boundary‐value problem for a loaded third‐order integro‐differential equation with variable coefficients. Moreover, the method of integral equations is applied to obtain an equation related to the Riemann‐Liouville operators.  相似文献

This article deals with the problem of robust stochastic asymptotic stability for a class of uncertain stochastic neural networks with distributed delay and multiple time‐varying delays. It is noted that the reciprocally convex approach has been intensively used in stability analysis for time‐delay systems in the past few years. We will extend the approach from deterministic time‐delay systems to stochastic time‐delay systems. And based on the new technique dealing with matrix cross‐product and multiple‐interval‐dependent Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, some novel delay‐dependent stability criteria with less conservatism and less decision variables for the addressed system are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. At last, several numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the results. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Complexity 21: 147–162, 2015  相似文献

In this paper, we construct a weakly‐nonlinear d'Alembert‐type solution of the Cauchy problem for the Boussinesq‐Klein‐Gordon (BKG) equation. Similarly to our earlier work based on the use of spatial Fourier series, we consider the problem in the class of periodic functions on an interval of finite length (including the case of localized solutions on a large interval), and work with the nonlinear partial differential equation with variable coefficients describing the deviation from the oscillating mean value. Unlike our earlier paper, here we develop a novel multiple‐scales procedure involving fast characteristic variables and two slow time scales and averaging with respect to the spatial variable at a constant value of one or another characteristic variable, which allows us to construct an explicit and compact d'Alembert‐type solution of the nonlinear problem in terms of solutions of two Ostrovsky equations emerging at the leading order and describing the right‐ and left‐propagating waves. Validity of the constructed solution in the case when only the first initial condition for the BKG equation may have nonzero mean value follows from our earlier results, and is illustrated numerically for a number of instructive examples, both for periodic solutions on a finite interval, and localized solutions on a large interval. We also outline an extension of the procedure to the general case, when both initial conditions may have nonzero mean values. Importantly, in all cases, the initial conditions for the leading‐order Ostrovsky equations by construction have zero mean, while initial conditions for the BKG equation may have nonzero mean values.  相似文献

A new class of nonlinear partial differential equations with distributed in space and time state‐dependent delay is investigated. We find appropriate assumptions on the kernel function which represents the state‐dependent delay and discuss advantages of this class. Local and long‐time asymptotic properties, including the existence of global attractor and a principle of linearized stability, are studied. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the metastable properties of the solutions to a hyperbolic relaxation of the classic Cahn‐Hilliard equation in one‐space dimension, subject to either Neumann or Dirichlet boundary conditions. To perform this goal, we make use of an “energy approach," already proposed for various evolution PDEs, including the Allen‐Cahn and the Cahn‐Hilliard equations. In particular, we shall prove that certain solutions maintain a Ntransition layer structure for a very long time, thus proving their metastable dynamics. More precisely, we will show that, for an exponentially long time, such solutions are very close to piecewise constant functions assuming only the minimal points of the potential, with a finitely number of transition layers, which move with an exponentially small velocity.  相似文献

In this article, we introduce a new space‐time spectral collocation method for solving the one‐dimensional sine‐Gordon equation. We apply a spectral collocation method for discretizing spatial derivatives, and then use the spectral collocation method for the time integration of the resulting nonlinear second‐order system of ordinary differential equations (ODE). Our formulation has high‐order accurate in both space and time. Optimal a priori error bounds are derived in the L2‐norm for the semidiscrete formulation. Numerical experiments show that our formulation have exponential rates of convergence in both space and time. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, we consider stabilization of a 1‐dimensional wave equation with variable coefficient where non‐collocated boundary observation suffers from an arbitrary time delay. Since input and output are non‐collocated with each other, it is more complex to design the observer system. After showing well‐posedness of the open‐loop system, the observer and predictor systems are constructed to give the estimated state feedback controller. Different from the partial differential equation with constant coefficients, the variable coefficient causes mathematical difficulties of the stabilization problem. By the approach of Riesz basis property, it is shown that the closed‐loop system is stable exponentially. Numerical simulations demonstrate the effect of the stable controller. This paper is devoted to the wave equation with variable coefficients generalized of that with constant coefficients for delayed observation and non‐collocated control.  相似文献
