The Sz.Nagy-Foias commutant theorem is concerned with operators that commute with the compression of a given unitary operator, and it is natural to ask what can be said in the case of the compression of a nonunitary operator. Since the Sz.Nagy-Foias theorem was shown to be logically equivalent to a lifting theorem of Hankel forms subordinated to a pair of positive Toeplitz forms, another formulation of the question is: What can be said about the Toeplitz extension of a Hankel form subordinated to a pair of positive but non-Toeplitz forms? Here we give some answers to this question, relating it to unitary extensions in Krein spaces and to scattering systems whose evolution operator is unitary only with respect to an indefinite metric. Integral representations can be given in the case of the Nehari theorem, where the Grothendieck inequality plays a role.  相似文献

We consider the Nevanlinna–Pick interpolation problem for Stieltjes matrix functions. We obtain two criteria for the indeterminacy of the Nevanlinna–Pick problem with infinitely many interpolation nodes. In the indeterminate case, we describe the general solution of the Nevanlinna–Pick problem in terms of fractional-linear transformations.  相似文献

Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for the existence of solutions to discrete time-variant interpolation problems of Nevanlinna-Pick and Nudelman type. The proofs are based on a reduction scheme which allows one to treat these time-variant interpolation problems as classical interpolation problems for operator-valued functions with operator arguments. The latter ones are solved by using the commutant lifting theorem.  相似文献

The so-called generalized Bochner theorem, stated by Cotlar and Sadosky, provides an integral representation of the positive definite generalized Toeplitz kernels. In this paper we derive noncommutative analogues of lifting theorems and the generalized Bochner theorem for completely positive definite generalized Toeplitz kernels, also considered by Cotlar and Sadosky, through the theory of unitary extensions of isometric operators. Moreover, in the case where the kernel is defined in×, we can associate to each unitary extension an interpolation colligation providing thus a wide class of liftings. Also a Levy-Khinchine type formula for this kind of kernels is obtained.This paper is supported by grants from the University of the Basque Country.  相似文献

A general version of the commutant lifting theorem for operators between different spaces is proved. It includes as special cases the lifting theorems of Ball-Trent-Vinnikov and Volberg-Treil. A multivariable variant of the Volberg-Treil theorem is obtained as a corollary. A certain factorization property of reproducing kernels is shown to be a sufficient condition for the lifting. Another factorization property is shown to be a necessary condition.  相似文献

在本文中,我们决定出多复变Hardy空间H2上解析Toeplitz代数的本质换位.即一个算子与所有解析Toeplitz算子本质可换,当且仅当它是符号属于Ac的Toeplitz算子的紧扰动.由此,符号属于Ac的Toeplitz算子生成的代数F(Ac)在Calkin代数中的像是极大可换闭代数,这导致了L.Coburn正合列的极大扩充.从这个事实,证明了符号属于Ac的Toeplitz算子的本质谱是连通的,这大大改进了C-S最近的工作.从本文的主要定理,证明了Toeplitz代数F(L∞)的本质换位和本质中心是由符号属于QC的Toeplitz算子生成的代数F(QC),这些结果又导致了对代数F(H∞)+K自同构群的确定.  相似文献

A general theory of operators on Boson Fock space is discussed in terms of the white noise distribution theory on Gaussian space (white noise calculus). An integral kernel operator is generalized from two aspects: (i) The use of an operator-valued distribution as an integral kernel leads us to the Fubini type theorem which allows an iterated integration in an integral kernel operator. As an application a white noise approach to quantum stochastic integrals is discussed and a quantum Hitsuda–Skorokhod integral is introduced. (ii) The use of pointwise derivatives of annihilation and creation operators assures the partial integration in an integral kernel operator. In particular, the particle flux density becomes a distribution with values in continuous operators on white noise functions and yields a representation of a Lie algebra of vector fields by means of such operators.  相似文献

Ball in [Ba] showed that the commutant lifting theorem for the nest algebras due to Paulsen and Power gives a unified approach to a wide class of interpolation problems for nest algebras. By restricting our attention to the case when nest algebras associated with the problems are discrete we derive a variant of the commutant lifting theorem which avoids language of representation theory and which is sufficient to treat an analog of the generalized Schur-Nevannlinna-Pick (SNP) problem in the setting of upper triangular operators.  相似文献

In this paper we obtain a noncommutative multivariable analogue of the classical Nevanlinna–Pick interpolation problem for analytic functions with positive real parts on the open unit disc. Given a function , where is an arbitrary subset of the open unit ball , we find necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a free holomorphic function g with complex coefficients on the noncommutative open unit ball such that
where is the algebra of all bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space . The proof employs several results from noncommutative multivariable operator theory and a noncommutative Cayley transform (introduced and studied in the present paper) acting from the set of all free holomorphic functions with positive real parts to the set of all bounded free holomorphic functions. All the results of this paper are obtained in the more general setting of free holomorphic functions with operator-valued coefficients. As consequences, we deduce some results concerning operator-valued analytic interpolation on the unit ball . Research supported in part by an NSF grant.  相似文献

Extensions of the Nehari theorem and of the Sarason commutation theorem are given for compact abelian groups whose dual have a complete linear order compatible with the group structure. We consider a class of bounded linear operators on Hilbert space called n-hypercontractions which relates naturally to adjoint shift operators on certain vector-valued standard weighted Bergman spaces on the unit disc. In the context of n-hypercontractions in the class C0⋅ we introduce a counterpart to the so-called characteristic operator function for a contraction operator. This generalized characteristic operator function Wn,T is an operator-valued analytic function in the unit disc whose values are operators between two Hilbert spaces of defect type. Using an operator-valued function of the form Wn,T, we parametrize the wandering subspace for a general shift invariant subspace of the corresponding vector-valued standard weighted Bergman space. The operator-valued analytic function Wn,T is shown to act as a contractive multiplier from the Hardy space into the associated standard weighted Bergman space.  相似文献

We study the commutator of the multiplication and harmonic Bergman projection, Hankel and Toeplitz operators on the harmonic Bergman spaces. The same type operators have been well studied on the analytic Bergman spaces. The main difficulty of this study is that the bounded harmonic function space is not an algebra! In this paper, we characterize theL p boundedness and compactness of these operators with harmonic symbols. For an operator which is a finite sum of products of finitely many Toeplitz operators on the harmonic Bergman space over the half-space, we study the problem: Does the boundary vanishing property of the Berezin transform imply compactness? This is motivated by the Axler-Zheng theorem for analytic Bergman spaces, but the answer would not be yes in general, because the Berezin transform annihilates the commutator of any pair of Toeplitz operators. Nevertheless we show that the answer is yes for certain subclasses of operators. In order to do so, we first find a sufficient condition on general operators and use it to reduce the problem to whether the Berezin transform is one-to-one on related subclasses.  相似文献
