In this paper we report on the characterization of a narrow linewidth three-section tunable slotted Fabry-Perot laser. The SMSR of the 25 available 100-GHz ITU channels is above 30 dB, whereas their average linewidth is 538 kHz with a maximum below 800 kHz. The RIN spectra of six different channels are also measured and a maximum average RIN of −135 dB/Hz is obtained. The linewidth effect of the laser in a 1.25 Gb/s DPSK transmission system is investigated by comparing the performance between the slotted Fabry-Perot laser and a commercial SG-DBR laser respectively. Error free transmission of the slotted Fabry-Perot laser shows the benefit of the narrow linewidth of the device for systems employing advanced modulation formats.  相似文献

利用在腔内加入可调谐光纤光栅滤波器使“8”字形腔掺Yb3+光纤激光器在锁模状态下实现波长连续可调谐.实验中,在保证锁模状态稳定的情况下,通过调节可调谐光纤光栅滤波器,使激光器输出锁模脉冲的中心波长在1 047 nm~1 055 nm范围内连续调谐,重复频率稳定维持在4.9 MHz.在中心波长1 053 nm处,测得锁模脉冲输出平均功率为8.02 mW,光谱带宽1 nm,脉冲宽度为259.3 ps.这种“8”字形腔被动锁模光纤激光器在锁模状态下对波长连续可调谐,并可长时间稳定工作.  相似文献

设计了一种具有独特双透镜外腔结构的可调谐窄线宽激光器,利用一个温控50 GHz的标准具提供ITU标准波长序列,通过一个压电陶瓷驱动的Fabry-Pérot可调谐滤波器选择一个标准波长实现单波长输出。实验结果表明:该激光器的调谐范围达到了1 525~1 580 nm,覆盖整个C波段,线宽为37.5 kHz,400 mA电流条件下的输出功率超过50 mW,边模抑制比超过50 dB,达到或超过相干通讯应用的要求和其他单片集成类器件的指标。另外,本结构具有位置容差大、调谐速度快(<3 ms)、易于实现超窄线宽以及波长微调等优点,待实现小型化和标准封装,其大规模应用将成为可能。  相似文献

稳定可调谐的单纵模多环形腔掺铒光纤激光器   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1  
提出了一种多环形腔(MRC)结构的稳定可调的单纵模(SLM)掺铒光纤激光器,多环形腔结构由双环形有源腔和两个次级无源腔组成.这种激光器是利用光纤法布里珀罗可调滤波器(FFP-TF)以及光学光栅滤波器(OGF)两种滤波器和多环形腔结构相结合来共同选模.可实现波长调节范围为1528~1565 nm,在整个波长调节范围内边模抑制比大于44.53 dB,在1554 nm附近边模抑制比可以达到最大值51.18 dB, 输出功率为-8.84 dBm,通过应用多环型腔结构,激光器的输出很稳定,在18 min的观察时间内,中心波长的变化小于0.02 nm,输出功率的变化小于0.04 dBm,实现了稳定且可调谐的单纵模输出.  相似文献

A continuously tunable erbium-doped fibre laser (TEDFL) based on tunable fibre Bragger grating (TFBG) and a three-port optical circulator (OC) is proposed and demonstrated. The OC acts as a 100%-reflective mirror. A strain-induced uniform fibre Bragger grating (FBG) which functions as a partial-reflecting mirror is implemented in the linear cavity. By applying axial strain onto the TFBG, a continuously tunable lazing output can be realized. The wavelength tuning range covers approximately 7.00nm in C band (from 1543.6161 to 1550.3307nm). The side mode suppression ratio (SMSR) is better than 50 dB, and the 3 dB bandwidth of the laser is less than 0.01 nm. Moreover, an array waveguide grating (AWG) is inserted into the cavity for wavelength preselecting, and a 50 km transmission experiment was performed using our TEDFL at a 10 Gb/s modulation rate.  相似文献

可调谐半导体激光吸收光谱作为一种高灵敏度、高选择性、非侵入的痕量气体实时检测技术,已在大气监测、工业控制等方面得到广泛应用。采用一种新型宽带可调谐的SG-DBR半导体激光器(可调谐范围1 520~1 570 nm)作光源,并通过自编程序对该激光器设定了18个通道,输出波长分别对应CO,CO2以及H2O的吸收谱线中心位置,设计和构建了一个基于近红外可调谐半导体激光吸收光谱的多组分气体光谱测量系统,描述了相关的光学系统设置,结合波长调制(wm)的二次谐波技术测量其中14个通道(分别对应CO和CO2的吸收谱线)的吸收光谱,系统获得的CO和CO2峰值吸收探测极限能够达到10-5。实验结果验证了SG-DBR激光器在波长调制吸收光谱多组分气体检测领域的可行性。在实际应用过程中使用单个SG-DBR激光器可以实现多组分气体的同时测量,有效降低设备成本和系统复杂性。  相似文献

A widely tunable mode-locked all-fiberized Yb-doped fiber laser with near-transform-limited spectrum linewidth is used. It consists of a tunable fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) and a fiber-coupled LiNbO3 phase modulator (PM) in a linear cavity. The TFBG is used to achieve tunable emission wavelength, and the intracavity PM is used to achieve actively mode-locking operation. We have experimentally demonstrated that the laser-emitting wavelength can be tuned between 1,041 and 1,091 nm with power fluctuation less than 3 dB. The temporal width of the laser pulse is about 1 ns, and the pulses are near transform-limited with a spectral linewidth of 1.3 GHz. The results may find useful application in optical communication and optical measurement system.  相似文献

通过对连续种子光源的光强调制,并利用光纤放大器和固体介质放大器结合的混合放大方式,实现了百兆赫兹高重频可调谐单频激光光源。系统在基模输出条件下的最大输出功率为31.9 W,光束质量因子小于1.5,脉冲重复频率达到100 MHz,脉宽1 ns,测量得到的光束线宽小于0.8 GHz。实验结果验证了通过对连续光源进行光强调制获得高重频脉冲光源的可行性,并验证了混合放大方式是获得功率放大的一种有效手段。  相似文献

在激光二极管LD泵浦铷蒸气激光器中,窄线宽半导体激光是实现铷蒸气激光高效率输出的关键技术之一。基于体布拉格光栅(VBG)外腔技术,实现了40 W功率0.14 nm线宽的780 nm激光输出。采用半导体制冷片(TEC)控制VBG温度,使得该激光器空气中波长可从779.35 nm调谐至780.10 nm,可用于铷蒸气激光的高效泵浦。  相似文献

Optical feedback from a high-finesse V-resonator, developed for this study, results in efficient coupling with an extended cavity diode laser, stabilizing its emission frequency and strongly decreasing the laser linewidth. This in turn enhances resonator output power, thus increasing the signal-to-noise ratio when used for the detection of gas phase species by absorption spectroscopy. This effect was directly measured by heterodyning two extended cavity diode lasers at a wavelength of 409 nm with and without the influence of optical feedback from a high-finesse V-resonator. The heterodyne signal of freely running lasers is composed of a set of sharp peaks whose envelope shows a width on the order of 4.5 MHz at a sweep rate of 80 MHz/0.8 s, leading to a laser linewidth of 3 MHz. Optical feedback from the high-finesse V-resonator reduces the heterodyne signal to a single peak with a mean width of 10 kHz, leading to a laser linewidth of 7 kHz. This is the lowest value of linewidth, reported thus far, for diode lasers operating in this wavelength region.  相似文献

We report the first experimental demonstration of a single-electrode-controlled digitally wavelength switchable V-coupled-cavity laser with high side-mode-suppression-ratio (SMSR) in the 40?dB range. Sixteen-channel and twenty-six channel wavelength switchable lasers with 100?GHz spacing are demonstrated with the maximal SMSR of 40?dB and 37?dB, respectively. They do not require complex gratings, multiple epitaxial growths, or complex tuning algorithms. The device size is only 500?μm×300?μm. Such a simple, compact, and high-performance laser has great potential as a low-cost alternative to existing complex tunable lasers for wide deployment in optical networks and beyond.  相似文献

可调谐激光器在光纤传感和光纤通信中有着广泛的应用,引起了人们的广泛重视。设计并搭建了基于FFP-TF2滤波器的可调谐激光器系统。通过FPGA设计的基于DDS (direct digital frequency synthesis)函数信号发生器与模拟放大电路结合产生的驱动电压,调节FFP-TF2腔长的变化,进而改变激光器的输出波长。该系统可以实现对FFP-TF2单点电压和扫描电压的驱动,从而激光器可以输出单波长激光和多波长扫描激光,在激光器输出波长1 532 nm~1 568 nm范围内,可以调节单波长输出,也可以调节多波长扫描范围,且两种模式可以切换使用。实验结果表明,激光器输出3 dB线宽基本保持在0.01 nm左右,激光器输出中心波长与驱动电压线性拟合度为99.934%,灵敏度为3.915 nm/V,而FFP-TF2输出中心波长与驱动电压线性拟合度为99.986%,灵敏度为4.021 nm/V,激光器输出中心波长相对FFP-TF2的误差为2.6%,说明该激光器系统输出波长具有线宽窄、稳定性好、灵活性高等优点。  相似文献

A broadly tunable dual-wavelength erbium-doped ring fiber laser based on a high-birefringence fiber loop mirror (HiBi-FLM) and a polarization controller is demonstrated experimentally. The measured transmission spectrum of HiBi-FLM covers a wide range from 1525 to 1575 nm. The wavelength of proposed laser can be flexibly tunable during this range of ∼50 nm by adjusting the polarization controller. In addition, the spacing of two wavelengths is adjustable by changing the length of HiBi fiber. The dual-wavelength lasers with the HiBi fiber length of 1 and 2 m are experimentally demonstrated and compared. The experimental results show that the proposed laser can stably operate on two wavelengths simultaneously at room temperature, and the output peak power variation is about 0.5 dB during 40 min.  相似文献

为了对宽可调谐微环耦合半导体激光器进行理论研究,提出了一种新型半导体激光器动态理论模型对其动态特性进行仿真分析。激光器的有源区采用传统的时域行波法进行模拟,由于调谐带宽大于40nm,需要考虑增益谱线型,而无源区则先利用频域模型计算其频谱特性,再利用有限冲击响应数字滤波器转化到时域与有源区进行连接。通过仿真分析得出,微环的耦合系数对激光器的大信号调制具有十分重要的影响。低耦合系数可以获得极窄的线宽但是激光器大信号直接调制能力也会随之急剧劣化。仿真结果还显示出该类型激光器可以进行高速大范围波长调谐。  相似文献

Sampled grating DBR (SGDBR) based laser arrays were demonstrated to be feasible for realizing monolithically integrated DWDM sources. In order to ease the post-fabrication wavelength control for SGDBR laser arrays, the influence of the sampling duty cycle and the difference of reflection peak spacing is analyzed and investigated experimentally for achieving the best side-mode suppression ratio (SMSR) of a SGDBR laser array. It is found that such type of laser arrays can have good tolerance on the mirror misalignment. We demonstrated arrays with uniform wavelength combs of 32 wavelengths in 0.8 nm wavelength spacing. Both high SMSR and accurate wavelength registration are achieved for all lasers in an array. We also demonstrated 16-wavelength laser arrays of 50 GHz spacing whose wavelengths are aligned to the ITU grid with single-electrode operation.  相似文献

We have successfully fabricated and characterized room temperature continuous wave (cw) GaInAsSb/AlGaAsSb distributed feedback lasers emitting in the wavelength region between 2.499 and 2.573 μm. To the best of our knowledge, this is the longest emission wavelength realized with a GaSb-based DFB laser diode. The laser structure used for DFB processing was grown by solid source molecular beam epitaxy. A DFB concept requiring no subsequent overgrowth step was used by defining first-order Cr-Bragg gratings laterally patterned to a ridge waveguide. Threshold currents smaller than 60 mA and room temperature cw output powers up to 6.5 mW were obtained. The laser diodes show single mode emission with side mode suppression ratios (SMSR) of up to 32 dB.  相似文献

Spin-polarized nuclei of such gases as 3He and 129Xe are successfully used for magnetic resonance imaging of lungs and other organs of human body. To produce large numbers of spin-polarized nuclei required for this medical application, a high power narrowband tunable laser source is required. Diode pumped alkali lasers, developed during last several years can be an ideal source for this application. In this paper we present our latest achievements in diode pumped alkali lasers development. We describe optically pumped Cs laser tunable in the range of 14 GHz and operating in single transverse mode with a linewidth less than 3 MHz. We also present continuous wave diode pumped Rb and Cs lasers with output power 17 W and 20 W.  相似文献

可调谐二极管激光吸收光谱技术是一种应用非常广泛的吸收光谱测量技术.利用宽带可调谐窄线宽光源进行吸收光谱测量的超光谱吸收技术可以在单次扫描中获取一段连续光谱的所有吸收数据,可大大提高可调谐二极管激光吸收光谱技术的数据信息容量和光谱诊断能力.分析了在2μm波段对水进行超光谱吸收测量时对激光器输出线宽的具体要求.利用掺铥光纤在2μm波段较宽的发射谱,采用可调谐法布里-珀罗滤波器和光纤可饱和吸收体相结合的技术方案搭建了一台宽带调谐窄线宽的2μm光纤激光器.获得了1840—1900 nm约60 nm范围的调谐光谱输出,激光器静态线宽仅为0.05 nm.利用该光源对空气中水在2μm波段的吸收光谱数据进行了超光谱吸收测量,在1856—1886 nm约30 nm的光谱范围内分辨了35条水的吸收谱线.通过对不同线宽条件下1870—1880 nm范围内的理论吸收光谱数据进行对比发现,测量数据无法有效分辨分别位于1873 nm和1877 nm处与强吸收线相邻的两条吸收谱线,且测量结果与激光线宽在0.08 nm条件下的HITRAN2012光谱数据库最为接近.这表明,在动态扫描过程中激光器的线宽得到了展宽.  相似文献

提出了一种以处于增益开关调制状态下的法布里珀罗(Fabry-Pérot)半导体激光器作为光源,采用简单的自激注入锁定方式,以生成波长可调谐的超短光脉冲的实验系统。该实验装置中,激光器的外腔包括两个串联在一起的布拉格光纤光栅,一个掺铒光纤放大器(EDFA),一个光耦合器和两个环行器,其作用是选模,以及增强并控制反馈回激光器内腔的光强。该实验系统简单而高效,在24nm的波长调谐范围内获得了边模抑制比高于40dB的单模光脉冲输出;而在1521.8nm和1550.0nm之间28.2nm的波长调谐范围内,边模抑制比高于35dB。所得到的各个单波长激光脉冲的时域半峰全宽为140~260ps,各个脉冲的光谱半峰全宽皆为0.1nm。  相似文献
