A new computational method for solving the second-order nonlinear singularly perturbed boundary value problems (SPBVPs) is provided in this paper. In order to overcome a highly singular behavior very near to the boundary as being not easy to treat by numerical method, we adopt a coordinate transformation from an x-domain to a t-domain via a rescaling technique, which can reduce the singularity within the boundary layer. Then, we construct a Lie-group shooting method (LGSM) to search a missing initial condition through the finding of a suitable value of a parameter r ∈ [0, 1]. Moreover, we can derive a closed-form formula to express the initial condition in terms of r, which can be determined properly by an accurate matching to the right-boundary condition. Numerical examples are examined, showing that the present approach is highly efficient and accurate.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel method is presented for solving a class of singularly perturbed boundary value problems. Firstly the original problem is reformulated as a new boundary value problem whose solution does not change rapidly via a proper transformation; then the reproducing kernel method is employed to solve the boundary value new problem. We develop a numerical technique for a class of singularly perturbed two-point singular boundary value problems on an uniform mesh using polynomial cubic spline. The scheme derived in this paper is second-order accurate. The resulting linear system of equations has been solved by using a tri-diagonal solver. Numerical results are provided to illustrate the proposed method and to compared with the methods in [R.K. A simple, convenient and easy approach to solve non-linear boundary value problems (BVP) using orthogonal collocation on finite elements (OCFE) is presented. The algorithm is the conjunction of finite element method (FEM) and orthogonal collocation method (OCM). The stability of the numerical results is checked by a novel algorithm which not only justifies the stability of the results but also checks the convergence of the method. The method is applied to the non-symmetric boundary value problems having Dirichlet’s and mixed Robbin’s boundary conditions.  相似文献

In this letter, a new numerical method is proposed for solving second order linear singularly perturbed boundary value problems with left layers. Firstly a piecewise reproducing kernel method is proposed for second order linear singularly perturbed initial value problems. By combining the method and the shooting method, an effective numerical method is then proposed for solving second order linear singularly perturbed boundary value problems. A numerical method is proposed for solving singularly perturbed turning point problems exhibiting twin boundary layers based on the reproducing kernel method (RKM). The original problem is reduced to two boundary layers problems and a regular domain problem. The regular domain problem is solved by using the RKM. Two boundary layers problems are treated by combining the method of stretching variable and the RKM. The boundary conditions at transition points are obtained by using the continuity of the approximate solution and its first derivatives at these points. Two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the present method. The results compared with other methods show that the present method can provide very accurate approximate solutions.  相似文献

A sharper version of the local Hadamard theorem on the solvability of nonlinear equations is proved. Additional parameters are introduced, and a two-parameter family of algorithms for solving nonlinear two-point boundary value problems is proposed. Conditions for the convergence of these algorithms are given in terms of the initial data. Using the right-hand side of the system of differential equations and the boundary conditions, equations are constructed from which initial approximations to the unknown parameters can be found. A criterion is established for the existence of an isolated solution to a nonlinear two-point boundary value problem. This solution is shown to be a continuous function of the data specifying the problem.  相似文献

Two successively iterative sequences are constructed for computing solutions of the nonlinear Neumann boundary value problems with time singularity. The sequences start off with some constants. Main tool is the fixed point theorem of increasing operator on the order interval. By considering convergence of the sequences, we prove the existence of nontrivial sign-changing solutions.  相似文献

This paper investigates the analytical approximate solutions of third order three-point boundary value problems using reproducing kernel method. The solution obtained by using the method takes the form of a convergent series with easily computable components. However, the reproducing kernel method can not be used directly to solve third order three-point boundary value problems, since there is no method of obtaining reproducing kernel satisfying three-point boundary conditions. This paper presents a method for solving reproducing kernel satisfying three-point boundary conditions so that reproducing kernel method can be used to solve third order three-point boundary value problems. Results of numerical examples demonstrate that the method is quite accurate and efficient for singular second order three-point boundary value problems.  相似文献

This paper presents a new reproducing kernel Hilbert space method for solving nonlinear fourth-order boundary value problems. It is a relatively new analytical technique. The solution obtained by using the method takes the form of a convergent series with easily computable components. This paper will present a numerical comparison between our method and other methods for solving an open fourth-order boundary value problem presented by Scott and Watts. The method is also applied to a nonlinear fourth-order boundary value problem. The numerical results demonstrate that the new method is quite accurate and efficient for fourth-order boundary value problems.  相似文献

An error bound for the collocation method by spline in tension is developed for a nonlinear boundary value problemay+by+cy=f(·,y),y(0)=y 0,y(1)=y 1. Sharp error bounds for the interpolating splines in tension are used in conjunction with recently obtained formulae for B-splines, to develop an error bound depending on the tension parameters and net spacing. For singularly perturbed boundary value problems (|a|=1), the representation of the error motivates a choice of tension parameters which makes the convergence of the collocation method problem at least linear. The B-representation of the spline in tension is also used in the actual computations. Methods of order two, four and six based on Exponential spline functions consisting of a polynomial part of degree three and an exponential part is developed to find approximation of linear and nonlinear fourth order two point boundary value problems. It is shown that the free parameter k of the exponential part can be used to raise the order of accuracy of the new scheme. Convergence analysis of these methods is shown along with numerical examples each for linear and nonlinear are included to illustrate the practical usefulness of our methods.  相似文献

Summary. We consider an indirect boundary integral equation formulation for the mixed Dirichlet-Neumann boundary value problem for the Laplace equation on a plane domain with a polygonal boundary. The resulting system of integral equations is solved by a collocation method which uses a mesh grading transformation and a cosine approximating space. The mesh grading transformation method yields fast convergence of the collocation solution by smoothing the singularities of the exact solution. A complete stability and solvability analysis of the transformed integral equations is given by use of a Mellin transform technique, in a setting in which each arc of the polygon has associated with it a periodic Sobolev space.
