On the basis of the dynamical dual model of strong interactions followed from the parton model of hadrons as discussed in an earlier paper, we study here the photo-production of pseudoscalar and vector mesons in the high energy region. To incorporate the concept of duality, it is taken that any two spin pointlike constituents (partons) can form a π-meson cluster in the structure of a nucleon and the basic interaction involved in MB scattering is the interaction of the incident meson with the π meson in the structure of the nucleon. In this scheme, the amplitudes for the photoproduction of mesons such as γN → Nπ, γN → N?, and γN → Nω in the high energy region can be related with the amplitudes for the process γπ → ππ, γπ → π?, and γπ → πω, respectively. To calculate the amplitudes for the relevant process we also consider a factor corresponding to the structural rearrangement of partons involved in duality diagrams. To obtain the cross sections, we take into account the photon-vector meson analogy, though the naive form of the vector dominance model (VDM) has not been considered here. From a knowledge of the coupling constants , , , and we obtain the differential cross sections which are in excellent agreement with experimental results. Also we obtain a good fit for the scattering process γN → Nπ at backward angles. For the vector meson production processes, we have contributions from the diffraction mechanism also apart from the amplitudes considered here. In the region where the contribution from the diffraction part is negligible, we obtain the relation which is in nice agreement with experiments. Finally, it is shown that, though the vector meson dominance is not considered here, the universality of the vector meson coupling with hadrons follows directly from the present model. 相似文献

Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for three double polarisation measurements to complement cross section and single polarisation measurements in pseudoscalar meson photoproduction to enable amplitudes to be determined up to discrete ambiguities. Rules for choosing two further measurements to resolve the discrete ambiguities are given and practical applications of the rules to particular reactions are discussed. 相似文献

π0 and η photoproduction data in the region of 4 GeV are decomposed into t-channel exchange components of definite isospin and parity. The latter are discussed in terms of Regge exchange models and compared to vector-meson dominance related processes. The isospin-one natural parity-exchange component is smooth and structureless. The dominant unatural parity exchange in π0 photoproduction has isospin zero. As in π± photoproduction the ratio of natural to unnatural parity exchange is found to be larger than the vector-dominance expectation. Complementary information from a recent spin decomposition of γp → π0p gives further insight into the SU (3) properties of the exchanges. We predict unmeasured quantities and stress, in particular, the importance of studying γn → π0n with polarised photons. 相似文献

Estimates for electroproduction of pseudoscalar mesons at small values of skewness are presented. Cross-sections and asymmetries
for these processes are calculated within the handbag approach which is based on factorization in hard parton subprocesses
and soft generalized parton distributions (GPDs). The latter are constructed from double distributions. Transversity GPDs
are taken into account; they are accompanied by twist-3 meson wave functions. For most pseudoscalar-meson channels a combination
of ˜T and [`(E)]T \bar{{E}}_{T}^{} plays a particularly prominent role. This combination of GPDs, which we constrain by moments obtained from lattice QCD, leads,
with the exception of the p+ \pi^{+}_{} and h¢ \eta^{\prime}_{} channels, to large transverse cross-sections. 相似文献

The P/V ratio of directly produced pseudoscalar (P) to vector (V) mesons is analysed using the data on the K0S and K*(892) total inclusive cross sections in pp, π+p and K±p reactions. The indication for a change of P/V from a value of about 1 at low energies, where the fragmentation processes dominate, to a value of 1/3, suggested by spin-statistics, at high energies is discussed. 相似文献

Entangled states of pseudoscalar mesons represent a very interesting tool for studying the foundations of quantum mechanics,
e.g. for testing the Bell inequalities. Recently, they also emerged as a test bench for quantum information protocols. On
the other hand, from a quantum information point of view, the characterization of the distance between two quantum states
is a topic of the utmost importance. In this work, with the purpose of providing a useful tool for further investigations,
we address the problem of which distance allows for a better discrimination between density matrices appearing in pseudoscalar
phenomenology.

Using data collected near the D{s}{*+}D{s}{-} peak production energy E_{cm}=4170 MeV by the CLEO-c detector, we study the decays of D{s}{+} mesons to two pseudoscalar mesons. We report on searches for the singly Cabibbo-suppressed D{s}{+} decay modes K{+}eta, K{+}eta', pi{+}K{S}{0}, K{+}pi{0}, and the isospin-forbidden decay mode D{s}{+}-->pi{+}pi{0}. We normalize with respect to the Cabibbo-favored D{s}{+} modes pi{+}eta, pi{+}eta', and K{+}K{S}{0}, and obtain ratios of branching fractions: B(D{s}{+}-->K{+}eta)/B(D{s}{+}-->pi{+}eta)=(8.9+/-1.5+/-0.4)%, B(D{s}{+}-->K{+}eta')/B(D{s}{+}-->pi{+}eta')=(4.2+/-1.3+/-0.3)%, B(D{s}{+}-->pi{+}K{S}{0})/B(D{s}{+}-->K{+}K{S}{0})=(8.2+/-0.9+/-0.2)%, B(D{s}{+}-->K{+}pi{0})/B(D{s}{+}-->K{+}K{S}{0})=(5.5+/-1.3+/-0.7)%, and B(D{s}{+}-->pi{+}pi{0})/B(D{s}{+}-->K{+}K{S}{0})<4.1% at 90% C.L., where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. 相似文献

We investigate the reaction where PS denotes a pseudoscalar meson , , , or and X either a proton or resonance or continuum state into which the proton can go by diffractive excitation. At high energies
photon and odderon exchange contribute to the reaction. The photon exchange contribution is evaluated exactly using data for
the total virtual photon-proton absorption cross section. The odderon exchange contribution is calculated in nonperturbative
QCD, using functional integral techniques and the model of the stochastic vacuum. For the proton we assume a quark-diquark
structure as suggested by the small odderon amplitude in pp and forward scattering. We show that odderon exchange leads to a much larger inelastic than elastic PS production cross section.
Observation of our reaction at HERA would establish the soft odderon as an exchange object on an equal footing with the soft
pomeron and would give us valuable insight into both the nucleon structure and the mechanism of high energy diffractive scattering.

Quasifree photoproduction of eta mesons off nucleons bound in the deuteron has been measured with the CBELSA/TAPS detector for incident photon energies up to 2.5 GeV at the Bonn ELSA accelerator. The eta mesons have been detected in coincidence with recoil protons and recoil neutrons, which allows a detailed comparison of the quasifree n(gamma,eta)n and p(gamma,eta)p reactions. The excitation function for eta production off the neutron shows a pronounced bumplike structure at W=1.68 GeV (E{gamma} approximately 1 GeV), which is absent for the proton. 相似文献
