Untersuchungen über die Produkte,die durch Oxydation von Butylbenzol in flüssiger Phase in Anwesenheit von Kobaltpicolinat erhalten werden

Zusammenfassung Es wude festgestellt, daß die Oxydation von Butylbenzol in flüssiger Phase mit Luft durch die Anwesenheit von Kobaltnicotinat hauptsächlich zur Bildung von Butyrophenon und Benzoesäure gelenkt wird. Der wahrscheinliche Oxydationsmechanismus wird vorgeschlagen.

Products of the oxidation of butylbenzene in liquid phase in presence of cobaltous picolinate

The liquid phase oxidation of butylbenzene by air in the presence of Co picolinate has been studied. It has been established that this catalyst directs the butylbenzene oxidation to butyrophenone and benzoic acid. On the basis of the data presented a probable mechanism of butylbenzene oxidation is suggested.

Trennung von racemischen Alkylaminos?uren durch HPLC mit chiraler mobiler Phase

Zusammenfassung Die Trennung der Alkylaminosäuren mit 4 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen gelingt in einfacher Weise an einer Umkehrphase durch HPLC mit chiralem wäßrigen Eluens. Der Eluent enthält einen chiralen Kupfer(II)-Komplex mit L-Aspartyl-L-phenylalaninmethylester in einer Konzentration von 1 mMol/l. Es lassen sich auch Gemische einiger Alkylaminosäureenantiomere auftrennen.

Separation of racemic alkylamino acids with HPLC using a chiral mobile phase

Summary The separation of alkylamino acids containing 4 to 6 carbon atoms is possible with simple reversed phase HPLC using chiral aqueous eluant. The eluant contains a chiral copper(II) complex of L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester in a concentration of 1 mMol/l. The separation of mixtures of some alkylamino acids enantiomers is also possible.

Gaschromatographische Untersuchungen zur Frage des Honigaromas

Zusammenfassung Das Aroma von Honigen wurde gaschromatographisch untersucht. Die Trennung wurde auf einer Makro-Golay-Säule (Carbowax 1500 als stationäre Phase) durchgeführt. Als Anzeigegerät diente ein Flammenionisationsdetektor (FID). Es konnte gezeigt werden, daß Phenylalanin ein Precursor des artspezifischen Aromas von Honigen ist.

Aroma components of different honeys were investigated gaschromatographically, using a macroGolay column with Carbowax 1500 as stationary phase and a flame ionisation detector. It could be shown that phenylalanine is a precursor of the specific aroma components of honey.

The phase equilibrium diagram for the Tl₂Te-SnTe system has been established by thermal analysis (cooling curve method) and differential thermal analysis. The results obtained are compared with the other data.

Zusammenfassung Es wird der abgebildete, einfache, aus rostfreiem Stahl verfertigte Apparat beschrieben, mit dessen Hilfe unter anderem die Chlorsulfonsäure als Veresterungskatalysator in der Gasphase untersucht wurde. Er dient auch zu Mikro-Hydrierungen und als Mikro-Bombenrohr.

The chelating behaviour of pyridine-2.6-di-thiocarbomethylamide

Copper, nickel and iron chelates of pyridine-2.6-di-thiocarbomethylamide were prepared. The discussion about the constitution of the obtained complex compounds is based on magnetic, spectroscopic, thermogravimetric and conductometric studies. 6-Methyl-2-thiocarbomethylamide reacts with copper(II) to give a copper(I) chelate.

Stationary phases

Summary Several oligomeric or polymeric 1,8-disilyloctane phases, prepared by the hydrosilation of 1,7-octadiene with dichloromethylsilane or chlorodimethylsilane followed by hydrolysis and covalent-bonded onto 10 m silica, were examined. Chromatographic properties for these phases and a RP-18 phase were compared by use of several aromatics and aliphatics. The results indicated that the effect of polymeric phases on retention and selectivity in reversed-phase liquid chromatography was more apparent than that of RP-18. In addition, a representative oligomeric 1,8-disilyloctane phase with the safrole ligand as terminal group was also tested and evaluated.

Die Bildung von Dampfkeimen im Blasensieden

Zusammenfassung Die begrifflichen Grundlagen zweier zur Zeit weitestens akzeptierter Analysen der Dampfphasenkeimbildung werden untersucht. Beide nehmen an, daß ein Druckgleichgewicht für die Bildung stabiler Keime kritisch ist. Da vor kurzem gezeigt worden ist, daß die Idee eines Druckunterschiedes zwischen den zwei Seiten einer gekrümmten Grenzfläche Fehler einschließt, ist eine neue Analyse erforderlich. Die Keimbildung wird als ein von einer Freien-Energie-Barriere bestimmter Vorgang formuliert. Kritische Radien für stabile Keime und Dampfdrucke in Bläschen werden als Funktion der Überhitzung für Wasser berechnet.

The formation of vapor phase nuclei in nucleate boiling

The conceptual bases of two analyses of vapor phase nucleation that share wide current acceptance are examined. Both consider a balance of pressure to be critical to the formation of stable nuclei. Because the concept of a pressure difference across curved interfaces has recently been shown faulty, a new analysis is required. Nucleation is formulated as a process governed by a free energy barrier. Critical radii for stable nuclei and vapor pressure in bubbles are calculated for water as functions of superheating.

Zusammenfassung Beim thermisch-alkalischen Abbau von Baumwoll-Cellulose in Abwesenheit einer wäßr.-flüss. Phase erfolgt rasch Kettenabbau mit jedoch geringem, von den Endgruppen ausgehenden Abschälen (1,8–2,4 Glucose-Einheiten pro Kettenspaltung). Während des Abbaus stehen die Logarithmen derDP _n-Werte und Reaktionszeiten in einem annähernd geradlinigen Verhältnis. Die Cellulosen erwiesen sich auch bei weit fortgeschrittenem Kettenabbau als kristallin.

Alkaline degradation of cellulose in absence of an aqueous liquid phase

In thermal alkaline degradation of cotton cellulose in absence of an aqueous-liquid phase, rapid chain splitting takes place, however, with little peeling-off involving the end groups (1.8–2.4 glucose units per chain splitting). During degradation, the logarithms of theDP _n-values and reaction times exhibit an approximate straight-line relationship. The celluloses were found to be crystalline even at far advanced chain splitting.
