We give an upper bound for the first Dirichlet eigenvalue of a tube around a complex curve P of ℂP n (λ) which depends only on the radius of the tube and the degrees of the polynomials defining P. The bound is sharp on a totally geodesic ℂP 1(λ) and gives a gap between the eigenvalue of a tube around ℂP 1(λ) and around other complex curves.  相似文献

Summary In this paper we give a unified framework for constructing harmonic morphisms from the irreducible Riemannian symmetric spaces ℍH n, ℂH n, ℝH 2 t+1, ℍP n, ℂP n and ℝP 2n+1 of rank one. Using this we give a positive answer to the global existence problem for the non-compact hyperbolic cases. This work was supported by The Swedish Natural Science Research Council. In this paper, we outline the construction of obstructions tok-formality wherek is a field of arbitrary characteristic. We show that the obstructions to intrinsick-formality of a graded algebraH * lie in the Hochschild cohomologyH H m,1 (H */k, H *). We calculate explicitly the Hochschild cohomology of the algebraH(ℂP /ℂP n ;k) and deduce that the stunted complex projective space ℂP /ℂP n is intrinsicallyk-formal for any fieldk.

It is proved in [8] that there exist no totally umbilical Lagrangian submanifolds in a complex-space-form ,n≥2, except the totally geodesic ones. In this paper we introduce the notion of LagrangianH-umbilical submanifolds which are the “simplest” Lagrangian submanifolds next to the totally geodesic ones in complex-space-forms. We show that for each Legendre curve in a 3-sphereS 3 (respectively, in a 3-dimensional antide Sitter space-timeH 1 3 ), there associates a LagrangianH-umbilical submanifold in ℂP n (respectively, in ℂH n ) via warped products. The main part of this paper is devoted to the classification of LagrangianH-umbilical submanifolds in ℂP n and in ℂH n . Our classification theorems imply in particular that “except some exceptional classes”, LagrangianH-umbilical submanifolds of ℂP n and of ℂH n are obtained from Legendre curves inS 3 or inH 1 3 via warped products. This provides us an interesting interaction of Legendre curves and LagrangianH-umbilical submanifolds in non-flat complex-space-forms. As an immediate by-product, our results provide us many concrete examples of LagrangianH-umbilical isometric immersions of real-space-forms into non-flat complex-space-forms.  相似文献

Abstract Let SO(n) act in the standard way on ℂn and extend this action in the usual way to ℂn+1 = ℂ ⊕ ℂn. It is shown that a nonsingular special Lagrangian submanifold L ⊂ ℂn+1 that is invariant under this SO(n)-action intersects the fixed ℂ ⊂ ℂn+1 in a nonsingular real-analytic arc A (which may be empty). If n > 2, then A has no compact component. Conversely, an embedded, noncompact nonsingular real-analytic arc A ⊂ ℂ lies in an embedded nonsingular special Lagrangian submanifold that is SO(n)-invariant. The same existence result holds for compact A if n = 2. If A is connected, there exist n distinct nonsingular SO(n)-invariant special Lagrangian extensions of A such that any embedded nonsingular SO(n)-invariant special Lagrangian extension of A agrees with one of these n extensions in some open neighborhood of A. We study the principal curvatures of a Hopf hypersurfaceM in ℂP n or ℂH n . The respective eigenspaces of the shape operator often turn out to induce totally real foliations ofM, whose leaves are spherical in the ambient space. Finally we classify the Hopf hypersurfaces with three distinct principal curvatures satisfying a certain non-degeneracy condition.  相似文献

Let G be a discrete subgroup of PU(1,n). Then G acts on ℙ n preserving the unit ball ℍ n , where it acts by isometries with respect to the Bergman metric. In this work we look at its action on all of ℙ n and determine its equicontinuity region Eq(G). This turns out to be the complement of the union of all complex projective hyperplanes in ℙ n which are tangent to n at points in the Chen-Greenberg limit set Λ(G), a closed G-invariant subset of n which is minimal for non-elementary groups. We also prove that the action on Eq(G) is discontinuous. Also , if the limit set is “sufficiently general” (i.e. it is not contained in any proper k -chain), then each connected component of Eq(G) is a holomorphy domain and it is a complete Kobayashi hyperbolic space.  相似文献

A new technique of integral representations in ℂ n , which is different from the well-known Henkin technique, is given. By means of this new technique, a new integral formula for smooth functions and a new integral representation of solutions of the ∂-equations on strictly pseudoconvex domains in ℂ n are obtained. These new formulas are simpler than the classical ones, especially the solutions of the ∂-equations admit simple uniform estimates. Moreover, this new technique can be further applied to arbitrary bounded domains in ℂ n so that all corresponding formulas are simplified.  相似文献

In 1988 the author and J. Bolton conjectured that a minimally immersed 2-sphere in ℂP n with constant K?hler angle θ≠ 0, π/2,π necessarily has constant curvature. In 1995 Li Zhen-qi showed that the simplest candidates for counterexamples must be linearly full in ℂP 10 with tan2 (θ/2) = 3/4, and produced an explicit 3-parameter family of them. In the present paper it is shown that these counterexamples may be completely characterised using almost complex curves in the nearly K?hler S 6 and that the space of such counterexamples, modulo ambient isometries, is a 14-cell with a single point removed. We investigate congruence classes and direct congruence classes of m-tuples in the complex projective space ℂP n . For direct congruence one allows only isometries which are induced by linear (instead of semilinear) mappings. We establish a canonical bijection between the set of direct congruence classes of m-tuples of points in ℂP n and the set of equivalence classes of positive semidefinite Hermitean m×m-matrices of rank at most n+1 with 1's on the diagonal. As a corollary we get that the direct congruence class of an m-tuple is uniquely determined by the direct congruence classes of all of its triangles, provided that no pair of points of the m-tuple has distance π/2. Examples show that the situation changes drastically if one replaces direct congruence classes by congruence classes or if distances π/2 are allowed. Finally we do the same kind of investigation also for the complex hyperbolic space ℂH n . Most of the results are completely analogous, however, there are also some interesting differences. LetB n be the unit ball of ℂn and ℤ ≅ Γ ⊂ AutB n be generated by a parabolic element of AutB n. We show that the quotientB n/Γ is biholomorphic to a holomorphically convex domain of ℂn, whose automorphism group is explicity described. It follows thatB n/ℤ is Stein for any free action of ℤ. We study the recognition of -classes of multi-germs in families of corank-1 maps from n-space into n-space. From these recognition conditions we deduce certain geometric properties of bifurcation sets of such families of maps. As applications we give a formula for the number of -codimension-1 classes of corank-1 multi-germs from ℂ n to ℂ n and an upper bound for the number of stable projections of algebraic hypersurfaces in ℝ n +1 into hyperplanes. The disentanglement of certain augmentations is shown to be the topological join of a disentanglement and a Milnor fibre. The kth disentanglement of a finite map is defined and for corank 1 maps from ℂ n to ℂ n +1 it is shown that they are homotopically equivalent to a wedge of spheres. It is proved by purely algebraic method that weakly conformai, conformai andA z 3 = 0 are mutually equivalent if ϕ :Ω→ℂP n is a non-isotropic harmonic map and the harmonic maps with isotropy order ≥3 are uniquely determined by a system of ordinary differential equations. Let S ⊂ ℂ n be a compact connected 2-codimensional submanifold. If n ⩾ 3, essentially local conditions and the assumption: every complex point of S is elliptic imply the existence of a projection in ℂ n of a Levi-flat (2n−1)-subvariety whose boundary is S (Dolbeault, Tomassini, Zaitsev, 2005). We extend the result when S is homeomorphic to a sphere and has one hyperbolic point. For n = 2 many results are known since the 1980’s and a new result with a very technical hypothesis is announced. The analytic behaviour of θ-vacuum energy is related to the existence of phase transitions in QCD and ℂP N sigma models. The absence of singularities different from Lee-Yang zeros only permits ∧ cusp singularities in the vacuum energy density and never ∨ cusps. This fact, together with the Vafa-Witten diamagnetic inequality, provides a key missing link in the Vafa-Witten proof of parity symmetry conservation in vector-like gauge theories and ℂP N sigma models. However, this property does not exclude the existence of a first phase transition at θ = π or a second order phase transition at θ = 0, which might be very relevant for interpretation of the anomalous behaviour of the topological susceptibility in the ℂP1 sigma model.  相似文献
