The epigeal part ofHaplophyllum obtusifolium collected in Ustyurt has yielded -sitosterol, isofraxetin, and a new coumarin — obtusinin — with the composition C15H18O6, mp 135–137°C (methanol), [] D 20 +140.9° (c 0.44; chloroform). An x-ray structural investigation has been made of the sesquiterpene lactone mucrin, diffractometer: Cu K radiation, 942 reflections, direct method, R factor 0.083. The ionophoric properties of the di-sec-butyl derivatives of dibenzo-18-crown-6 have been studied in natural and model membranes. It has been shown that the di-sec-butyl substituents in the benzene rings of dibenzo-18-crown-6 impart to the cyclopolyether the properties of an ionophore for magnesium. Summary The qualitative and quantitative compositions of the neutral lipids and the fatty-acid composition of the individual classes of neutral lipids isolated from fresh, freeze-dried, and air-dry cells of the algaChlorella vulgaris have been investigated.The presence of natural fatty acid methyl esters in the lipid extract of the fresh and air-dry chlorella cells has been established.It has been shown that the fatty acid methyl ester fraction is enriched with palmitic acid as compared with the triglyceride and free fatty acid fractions.The main unsaturated acids of the chlorella lipids contain the first double bond in the 9 position.Division of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, Tashkent.
