The aerodynamic characteristics of models of pairs of bodies on the flow acceleration and deceleration intervals are investigated experimentally at transonic and supersonic flow velocities. Changes in the structure of a transonic flow around a symmetric airfoil and a decrease in the wave drag of the latter, depending on the energy-supply period and on localization and shape of the energy-supply zone, are considered by means of the numerical solution of two-dimensional unsteady equations of gas dynamics. Energy addition to the gas ahead of the closing shock wave in an immediate vicinity of the contour in zones extended along the contour is found to significantly reduce the wave drag of the airfoil. The nature of this decrease in drag is clarified. The flowfield and the aerodynamic drag of a model consisting of a pair of bodies (leading body a cylinder and trailing body a hollow cylinder) connected by a cylindrical bar along the axis of symmetry is experimentally investigated at Mach numbers ranging from 0.6 to 1.7. The results of an experimental study of the transonic flow behind the trailing corner edges of oversized cone-cylinder bodies of different dimensions are presented. Emphasis is placed on the induced transonic flow restructuring and the local aerodynamic forces accompanying the process, both steady and unsteady. The possibility of controlling the aerodynamic characteristics of airfoils in transonic flight regimes by means of one-sided pulsed-periodic energy supply is studied. Based on the numerical solution of two-dimensional unsteady gas-dynamic equations, the change in the flow structure in the vicinity of a symmetric airfoil at different angles of attack and the aerodynamic characteristics of the airfoil as functions of the amount of energy supplied asymmetrically (with respect to the airfoil) are determined. The results obtained are compared with the data calculated for the flow past the airfoil at different angles of attack without energy supply. It is found that a given lift force can be obtained with the use of energy supply at a much better lift-to-drag ratio of the airfoil, as compared to the case of the flow past the airfoil at an angle of attack. The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods are applied to aerodynamic problems for large scale wind turbines. The progresses including the aerodynamic analyses of wind turbine profiles, numerical flow simulation of wind turbine blades, evaluation of aerodynamic performance, and multi-objective blade optimization are discussed. Based on the CFD methods, significant improvements are obtained to predict two/three dimensional aerodynamic characteristics of wind turbine airfoils and blades, and the vortical structure in their wake flows is accurately captured. Combining with a multi-objective genetic algorithm, a 1.5 MW NH-1500 optimized blade is designed with high efficiency in wind energy conversion.  相似文献

A three-dimensional rarefied-gas flow past a spinning sphere in the transitional and near-continuum flow regimes is studied numerically. The rarefaction and compressibility effects on the lateral (Magnus) force and the aerodynamic torque exerted on the sphere are investigated for the first time. The coefficients of the drag force, the Magnus force, and the aerodynamic torque are found for Mach numbers ranging from 0.1 to 2 and Knudsen numbers ranging from 0.05 to 20. In the transitional regime, at a certain Knudsen number depending on the Mach number the Magnus force direction changes. This change is attributable to the increase in the role of normal stresses and the decrease in the contribution of the shear stresses to the Magnus force with decrease in the Knudsen number. A semi-empirical formula for the calculation of the Magnus force coefficient in the transitional flow regime is proposed.  相似文献

This paper presents solutions of subsonic and transonic flow fields in two-dimensional De Laval nozzles with preassinged contraction ration 1, expansion ration 2, and throat wall radiusR *. The effects of the contraction and the expansion angle on nozzle flow, the transformation of flow pattern of a De Laval nozzle in the throat region, and the conditions of occurrence and the governing parameters of the supersonic bubbles are discussed.  相似文献

A new method based on the anisotropic tensor force finite element and Taylor-Galerkin finite element is presented in the present paper. Its application to two-dimensional viscous transonic flow in turbomachinery improves the convergence rate and stability of calculation, and the results obtained agree well with the experimental measurements.  相似文献

The development of a computer program to solve the axisymmetric full Navier--Stokes equations with k-ε two-equation model of turbulence using various total variation diminishing (TVD) schemes is the primary interest of this study. The computations are performed for the turbulent, transonic, viscous flow over a projectile with/without supporting sting at zero angle of attack. The predicted results, as well as the convergence characteristics, by various TVD schemes are compared with each other. The results show that the TVD schemes of higher-order accuracy do have influence on the regions of high gradients such as shock, base corner and base flow. However, the schemes of third-order accuracy do not necessarily improve the agreement with measured data (which is not available on the base) than that of second-order accuracy, but surely generate apparent different result of base flow. The supporting sting on the projectile base will complicate the base flow and the existence of the sting will slightly shift the shock location and slightly change the flow field after the shock. More iteration steps are needed to get the converged results in the computation for the projectile with sting.  相似文献

In transonic flow conditions, the shock wave/turbulent boundary layer interaction and flow separations on wing upper surface induce flow instabilities, ‘buffet’, and then the buffeting (structure vibrations). This phenomenon can greatly influence the aerodynamic performance. These flow excitations are self‐sustained and lead to a surface effort due to pressure fluctuations. They can produce enough energy to excite the structure. The objective of the present work is to predict this unsteady phenomenon correctly by using unsteady Navier–Stokes‐averaged equations with a time‐dependent turbulence model based on the suitable (kε) turbulent eddy viscosity model. The model used is based on the turbulent viscosity concept where the turbulent viscosity coefficient () is related to local deformation and rotation rates. To validate this model, flow over a flat plate at Mach number of 0.6 is first computed, then the flow around a NACA0012 airfoil. The comparison with the analytical and experimental results shows a good agreement. The ONERA OAT15A transonic airfoil was chosen to describe buffeting phenomena. Numerical simulations are done by using a Navier–Stokes SUPG (streamline upwind Petrov–Galerkin) finite‐element solver. Computational results show the ability of the present model to predict physical phenomena of the flow oscillations. The unsteady shock wave/boundary layer interaction is described. The vacuum pipeline vehicle system is a novel conceptual system aimed to provide a high-speed public transportation service in the future, featured with a reduced-pressure tube in which pressurised capsules ride on a cushion of air that is driven by a combination of linear induction motors and air compressor. The capsule body has a great influence on the aerodynamic performance of vehicles. This work involves numerical simulations based on finite volume method to study the optimisation method for the parameter design of the vehicle body. The results show that the aerodynamic resistance of the optimised vehicle is further reduced, the drag reduction rate reaches 5.52%, and the speed of the Kantrowitz limit phenomenon is delayed from 760 to 860?km/h. 为抑制跨超声速风洞扩散段的分离,提出了一种较为完备的设计方法。由于影响扩散段性能的参数较多,完全通过试验方法进行设计的成本过高,该方法通过数值模拟,结合适当的边界条件,详细描述了扩散段角度、分流锥角度与长度、孔板开孔率对扩散段性能的影响;从数值模拟的结果可以看出,孔板开孔率和扩开角对扩散段性能有显著影响,通过比较得出较为合理的参数匹配,提高了扩散段的防分离性能,并改善了出口气流质量。数值结果与试验结果结论一致,表明本文所用的方法用于扩散段气动设计是可行的,为数值模拟方法应用于风洞部段气动设计创造了一定的条件。  相似文献

In this article, the transonic inviscid flow over a deformable airfoil with plunging motion is studied numerically. A finite volume method based on the Roe scheme developed in a generalized coordinate is used along with an arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian method and a dynamic mesh algorithm to track the instantaneous position of the airfoil.The effects of different governing parameters such as the phase angle, the deformation amplitude, the initial angle of attack, the flapping frequency, and the Mach number on the unsteady flow field and aerodynamic coefficients are investigated in detail. The results show that maneuverability of the airfoil under various flow conditions is improved by the deformation. In addition, as the oscillation frequency of the airfoil increases, its aerodynamic performance is significantly improved.  相似文献

The transonic flowfields and vortex-breakdown over a slender wing with the angle of attack from 10° to 28° are studied numerically, and the emphasis is on the secondary separation and the charateristics of vortex-breakdown. The results indicated that: (a) TVD schemes have strong capability for capturing vortices in three-dimensional transonic separated flow at large angle of attack. (b) The development of secondary vortices is more complex than that of leading-edge ones, and is affected by wing's configuration, angle of attack and compressibility simultaneously, and the effect of compressibility is more severe at low angle of attack. (c) The starting angle of attack for vortex-breakdown (when vortex bursting point crosses trailing-edge) is about 18° forM∞=0.85, then the bursting point moves upstream quickly with increasing angle of attack. (d) At α=24°, breakdown occurs over most part of upper side, and the wing begins to stall. Therefore, there is a large lag of angle of attack between the beginning of vortex-breakdown and the stall of the wing. (e) This lag increase with the decreasing of Mach number.  相似文献

The method in [1] has been extended to the case of rotational flow in this paper. A new method for dealing with the shock wave is presented. This method has the advantages of both the shock-fitting and the shock capturing methods. The direct problem and the mixed direct-inverse problem of the rotational flow in a transonic plane cascade at both design and off design conditions are solved, and the results show that the present method has rapid convergence rate and high accuracy even for the flow with moderately strong shocks. The calculations have been carried out on the DPS-8 computer, and for the direct problem, only 50–80 iterations are needed, and 50–80 seconds of CPU time are required.  相似文献

This paper presents numerical methods for solving turbulent and two‐phase transonic flow problems. The Navier–Stokes equations are solved using cell‐vertex Lax–Wendroff method with artificial dissipation or cell‐centred upwind method with Roe's Riemann solver and linear reconstruction. Due to a big difference of time scales in two‐phase flow of condensing steam a fractional step method is used.
