We present a theoretical analysis of the stability of screening-photovoltaic (SP) spatial solitons in biased photovoltaic-photorefractive materials in the case of neglecting the loss of the material and the effect of diffusion. When an incident optical beam is a SP soliton, this beam propagates along a linear path with its shape kept unchanged. When the maximum amplitude, width and functional form of an incident optical beam are slightly different from those of a SP soliton, the beam reshapes itself and tries to evolve into a solitary wave after a short distance. That is, these SP solitons are stable against small perturbations. However, optical beams that significantly differ from SP soliton solutions tend to experience larger cycles of compression and expansion, and their maximum amplitudes oscillate with propagation distances. We investigate theoretically the temperature effects on the evolution of both bright and dark screening-photovoltaic optical spatial solitons in biased photovoltaic-photocefractive crystals in the case of neglecting the diffusion process.For a stable bright or dark screening-photovoltaic soliton originally formed in a crystal at a given temperature,when the crystal temperature changes,it will evolve into another stable screening-photovoltaic soliton if the change is quite small,whereas it will become unstable or break down if the temperature change is large enough.The spatial shape of a stable screening-photovoltaic soliton can be reshaped by appropriately adjusting the crystal temperature. 相似文献

We investigate theoretically the temperature effects on the evolution and stability
of a separate screening bright--dark soliton pair formed in a serial
non-photovoltaic photorefractive crystal circuit. Our numerical results show that,
for a stable bright--dark soliton pair originally formed in a crystal circuit at
given temperatures, when one crystal temperature changes, the soliton supported by
the other crystal will evolve into another stable soliton if the temperature change
is quite small, whereas it will become unstable and experience larger cycles of
compression or break up into beam filaments if the temperature difference is big
enough. The dark soliton is more sensitive to the temperature change than the bright

It is shown that the existence of incoherently coupled screening-photovoltaic soliton families is possible in biased photovoltaic photorefractive crystals under steady-state conditions. These screening-photovoltaic soliton families can be established provided the multiple incident beams have the same polarization and wavelength, and are mutually incoherent. Such soliton families reduce to screening-photovoltaic soliton pairs when they contain only two components. Relevant examples are presented where the photovoltaic photorefractive crystal is of the lithium niobate type. 相似文献

The dynamical evolution and stability of
bright dissipative holographic solitons in biased photorefractive materials
in which the self-trapping beam obtains a gain from the pump beam via two-wave
mixing has been investigated numerically. Results show that these solitons are stable relative to small
perturbations. Adjusting some system parameters, such as the bias field and
the angle between beams, can easily control the generation of such solitons.

Quasistable bright dissipative holographic solitons in photorefractive two-wave mixing system 下载免费PDF全文
The dynamical evolution of both signal and pump beams are traced
by numerically solving the coupled-wave equation for a
photorefractive two-wave mixing system. The direct simulations
show that, when the intensity ratio of the pump beam to the
signal beam is large enough, the pump beam presents a common
decaying behaviour without modulational instability (MI), while
the signal beam can evolve into a quasistable spatial soliton
within a regime in which the pump beam is depleted slightly. The
larger the ratio is, the longer the regime is. Such quasistable
solitons can overcome the initial perturbations and numerical
noises in the course of propagation, perform several cycles of
slow oscillation in intensity and width, and persist over tens
of diffraction lengths. From physical viewpoints, these solitons
actually exist as completely rigorous physical objects. If the
ratio is quite small, the pump beam is apt to show MI, during
which the signal beam experiences strong expansion and shrinking
in width and a drastic oscillation in intensity, or completely
breaks up. The simulations using actual experimental parameters
demonstrate that the observation of an effectively stable
soliton is quite possible in the proposed system. 相似文献

Self-deflection of a bright soliton in a separate bright-dark spatial soliton pair based on a higher-order space charge field 下载免费PDF全文
The self-deflection of a bright solitary beam can be controlled by a dark solitary beam via a parametric coupling effect between the bright and dark solitary beams in a separate bright-dark spatial soliton pair supported by an unbiased series photorefractive crystal circuit. The spatial shift of the bright solitary beam centre as a function of the input intensity of the dark solitary beam (\hatρ) is investigated by taking into account the higher-order space charge field in the dynamics of the bright solitary beam via both numerical and perturbation methods under steady-state conditions. The deflection amount (Δs_0), defined as the value of the spatial shift at the output surface of the crystal, is a monotonic and nonlinear function of \hatρ. When \hatρ is weak or strong enough, Δs_0 is, in fact, unchanged with \hatρ, whereas Δs_0 increases or decreases monotonically with \hatρ in a middle range of \hatρ. The corresponding variation range (δs) depends strongly on the value of the input intensity of the bright solitary beam (r). There are some peak and valley values in the curve of δs versus r under some conditions. When \hatρ increases, the bright solitary beam can scan toward both the direction same as and opposite to the crystal's c-axis. Whether the direction is the same as or opposite to the c-axis depends on the parameter values and configuration of the crystal circuit, as well as the value of r. Some potential applications are discussed. 相似文献
