Reaction of nickel(II) chloride hexahydrate with N-n-butyldiethanolamine H(2)L (3) in the presence of LiH in anhydrous THF leads to the formation of the unique octanuclear chloro-bridged nickel(II) double cubane [({Ni(II)(4)(μ(3)-OH)Cl(3)(HL)(3)}μ(2)-Cl)(2)] (4) in 57% yield. According to single crystal X-ray structure analysis, complex 4·4CH(2)Cl(2) possesses a [({Ni(4)(μ(3)-OH)(μ(3)-O)(3)(OH)(3)(N)(3)(Cl)(3)}μ(2)-Cl)(2)] core and crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with a = 18.292(2), b = 19.8972(5), c = 23.295(2) ?, β = 98.408(6)°, V = 8387.3(8) ?(3), and four molecules in the unit cell. The analysis of the SQUID magnetic susceptibility data identified 4 as a weakly coupled dimer (J(1) = 14.5 K, J(2) = -0.6 K) with a ground state of S = 0, resulting from two S = 4 states of each {Ni(4)} subunits. Although complex 4 does not show an ac out-of-phase signal in a zero dc field at temperatures of 1.8 K and higher, low-temperature magnetization measurements revealed that complex 4 is a single-molecule magnet and shows hysteretic magnetization characteristics with typical temperature and sweep-rate dependencies. The eye-catching feature of complex 4 is the presence of two different blocking temperatures (0.9 K around zero field and 1.3 K at higher fields). The origin of this highly unusual behavior can be assigned to the dimer-nature of the interaction between the two S = 4 units. Furthermore STM and current imaging tunnelling spectroscopy (CITS) were performed on aggregates of 4 drop-coated on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) surfaces. CITS measurements show a strong contrast in the area of the nickel centers and a HOMO-LUMO gap of approximately 0.8 V.  相似文献

The 2:1 salt of a new donor molecule, EDT-DSDTFVSDS with FeBr4- ion, (EDT-DSDTFVSDS)2.FeBr4 showed an essentially metallic behavior despite a small upturn in the electrical resistance below ca. 30 K (electrical conductivities at 290 and 4.2 K are 200 and 170 S cm-1, respectively). The Fe(III) d spins of the FeBr4- ions in this salt were subject to antiferromagnetic ordering at 3.3 K by virtue of a strong pi-d interaction (Jpid) which is comparable to that in a molecular metallic conductor, lambda-(BETS)2.FeCl4, and of a very weak d-d interaction (Jdd). This strong pi-d interaction was evidenced by a large and negative magnetoresistance effect (ca. 20% at 5 T) as well as by the appearance of a large dip in the resistance at the magnetic field (ca. 2.0 T) parallel to the easy axis for the spin-flop transition of the Fe(III) d spins.  相似文献

Several conducting salts based on BETS [where BETS = bis(ethylenedithio)tetraselenafulvalene] molecules and divalent magnetic anions such as the (CoCl(4))(2-), (CoBr(4))(2-), and (MnBr(4))(2-) were prepared. Electrocrystallization by using the (CoCl(4))(2-) anion gave two kinds of crystals. Block-shaped crystals were cleared to be (BETS)(2)CoCl(4), which is an insulator with the high-spin state of cobalt 3d spin. On the other hand, the X-ray crystal structure analysis of a plate-shaped crystal of the (CoCl(4))(2-) salt revealed the system to be kappa-(BETS)(4)CoCl(4)(EtOH), which is metallic down to 0.7 K. The electronic band structure calculation gave a typical two-dimensional cylindrical Fermi surface. However, there is only very weak antiferromagnetic interaction between the S = 3/2 cobalt 3d spins because of its anion-solvent-intermingled layer structure. On the other hand, the electrocrystallization by using the (MnBr(4))(2-) anion yielded the plate-shaped black crystals of the (MnBr(4))(2-) salt. Crystal structure analysis of the (MnBr(4))(2-) salt showed that the salt is theta;-(BETS)(4)MnBr(4)(EtOH)(2) with alternating donor and anion-solvent mixed layers. The stacking direction in one donor layer is perpendicular to those of the neighboring layers. The electrical and magnetic properties of the theta;-(BETS)(4)MnBr(4)(EtOH)(2) salt showed the metallic behavior down to approximately 30 K and the paramagnetism of the high-spin manganese 3d spins. Band structure calculation of this salt gave an elliptical cylindrical Fermi surface. Because the Fermi surfaces of the adjacent donor layers are rotated to each other by 90 degrees, the theta-(BETS)(4)MnBr(4)(EtOH)(2) salt becomes a two-dimensionally isotropic metal.  相似文献

Three new homo- and heterometallic hexanuclear complexes [Mn(2)M(II)(4)O(2)(PhCOO)(10)(DMF)(4)] (with M = Mn (1), Co (2) or Ni (3) and DMF = dimethylformamide) have been synthesized by redox generation of benzoate ligands from benzaldehyde in a one-pot reaction. All of the compounds are isostructural and crystallize in the I-42d space group of the tetragonal system, data for 1: a = 27.2249(8) Angstroms, c = 25.5182(5) Angstroms, R1 = 0.0681. The crystal structure contains isolated molecules. Each molecule consists of 2 x Mn(III) surrounded by four M(II) ions to form two edge-sharing OMn(2)M(2) tetrahedra giving rise to the [Mn(2)M(4)O(2)] core. The coordination sphere of each metal is completed by the bridging benzoate ligands and DMF molecules. The magnetic susceptibilities of 1-3 have been measured in the 1.8 K < T < 300 K temperature range. The magnetic susceptibilities for 1 and 2 pass through a broad maximum at low temperature which is characteristic of the diamagnetic ground state, while for 3 no maximum is detected down to 1.8 K. The magnetic data have been interpreted quantitatively for 1 and 3 on the basis of spin exchange interactions between the metallic centers (spin Hamiltonian for a pair being H(AB) = -J(AB) S(A).S(B)). Single-crystal measurements on [Mn(6)O(2)(PhCOO)(10)(CH(3)CN)(4)] (4) show that significant magnetic anisotropy develops at low temperature.  相似文献

The electrical conductivities of aqueous solutions of Na(2)SO(4), H(2)SO(4), and their mixtures have been measured at 373-673 K at 12-28 MPa in dilute solutions for molalities up to 10(-2) mol kg(-1). These conductivities have been fit to the conductance equation of Turq et al.(1) with a consensus mixing rule and mean spherical approximation activity coefficients. Provided the concentration is not too high, all of the data can be fitted by a solution model that includes ion association to form NaSO(4)(-), Na(2)SO(4)(0), HSO(4)(-), H(2)SO(4)(0), and NaHSO(4)(0). The adjustable parameters of this model are the dissociation constants of the SO(4)(-) species and the H(+), SO(4)(-2), and HSO(4)(-) conductances (ion mobilities) at infinite dilution. For the 673 K and 230 kg m(-3) state point with the lowest dielectric constant, epsilon = 3.5, where the Coulomb interactions are the strongest, this model does not fit the experimental data above a solution molality of 0.016. Including the species H(9)(SO(4))(5)(-) gave satisfactory fits to the conductance data at the higher concentrations.  相似文献

To obtain novel single-component molecular metals, we attempted to synthesize several cobalt complexes coordinated by TTF (tetrathiafulvalene)-type dithiolate ligands. We succeeded in the syntheses and structure determinations of ((n)Bu(4)N)(2)[Co(chdt)(2)](2) (1), ((n)Bu(4)N)(2)[Co(dmdt)(2)](2) (2), [Co(dmdt)(2)](2) (3), and [Co(dt)(2)](2) (4) (chdt = cyclohexeno-TTF-dithiolate, dmdt = dimethyl-TTF-dithiolate, and dt = TTF-dithiolate). Structure analyses of complexes 1-4 revealed that two monomeric [Co(ligand)2]- or [Co(ligand)(2)](0) units are connected by two Co-S bonds resulting in dimeric [Co(ligand)(2)](2)(2-) or [Co(ligand)(2)](2) molecules. Complex 1 has a cation-anion-intermingled structure and exhibited Curie-Weiss magnetic behavior with a large Curie constant (C = 2.02 K x emu x mol(-1)) and weak antiferromagnetic interactions (theta = -8.3 K). Complex 2 also has a cation-anion-intermingled structure. However, the dimeric molecules are completely isolated by cations. Complexes 3 and 4 are single-component molecular crystals. The molecules of complex 3 form two-dimensional molecular stacking layers and exhibit a room-temperature conductivity of sigmart = 1.2 x 10(-2) S.cm(-1) and an activation energy of E(a) = 85 meV. The magnetic behavior is almost consistent with Curie-Weiss law, where the Curie constant and Weiss temperature are 8.7 x 10(-2) K x emu x mol(-1) and -0.85 K, respectively. Complex 4 has a rare chair form of the dimeric structure. The electrical conductivity was fairly large (sigmart = 19 S.cm(-1)), and its temperature dependence was very small (sigma(0.55K)/sigma(rt) = ca. 1:10), although the measurements were performed on the compressed pellet sample. Complex 4 showed an almost constant paramagnetic susceptibility (chi(300) (K) = 3.5 x 10(-4) emu x mol(-1)) from 300 to 50 K. The band structure calculation of complex 4 suggested the metallic nature of the system. Complex 4 is a novel single-component molecular conductor with a dimeric molecular structure and essentially metallic properties down to very low temperatures.  相似文献

We have used multinuclear NMR and IR spectroscopy to study the interaction of a number of metal cations with monovacant heteropolyanion [P(2)W(20)O(7)(0)(H(2)O)(2)](10)(-) (P(2)W(20)) in aqueous solutions starting from its K salt. We have also prepared and studied P(2)W(20) in an Na-only medium. The observed differences in the NMR spectra of NaP(2)W(20)and KP(2)W(20)solutions and the importance of K(+) and Na(+) for the formation of P(2)W(20) suggest that this polyanion exists only as a complex with the alkaline cations. When both cations were simultaneously present in solution, we observed the broadening of the NMR signals of P(2)W(20)due to the Na-K exchange. Li(+) does not replace K(+) or Na(+) in such complexes, and in an Li-only medium P(2)W(20) does not form. Of all the M(n)(+) cations studied (Pd(2+), Bi(3+), Sn(4+), Zr(4+), Ce(4+), Ti(4+), V(5+), and Mo(6+)) only Bi(3+), Sn(4+), and Ce(4+) form complexes with P(2)W(20) in strongly acidic solutions. The (183)W and (119)Sn NMR data suggest that Sn(4+) forms in solution two mutually interconvertable P(2)W(20)Sn complexes of the composition P(2)W(20)O(70)(H(2)O)(3)SnOH(7)(-) and (P(2)W(20)O(70)(H(2)O)(3)Sn)(2)O(14)(-) while Bi(3+) forms one complex of the proposed composition P(2)W(20)O(70)(H(2)O)(2)Bi.(7)(-) We obtained complexes with Bi and Sn as free heteropoly acids and studied their thermostability in the solid state.  相似文献

Two cyano-bridged Gd(III)-Cr(III) complexes [Gd(urea)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](2)[Cr(CN)(6)](2) (1) and ([Gd(capro)(2)(H(2)O)(4)Cr(CN)(6)].H(2)O)(n)(2) (capro represents caprolactam) have been synthesized and characterized structurally and magnetically. Complex 1 has a tetranuclear Gd(2)Cr(2) square structure, in which two cis-CN(-) ligands of each [Cr(CN)(6)] link two [Gd(urea)(4)(H(2)O)(2)] groups and in turn, two [Gd(urea)(4)(H(2)O)(2)] link two [Cr(CN)(6)] in a cis fashion. Complex 2 is composed of 1D chains with alternating [Gd(capro)(2)(H(2)O)(4)] and [Cr(CN)(6)] moieties connected by the trans-CN(-) ligands of [Cr(CN)(6)]. The dehydration of 2 at 120 degrees C generates a new complex, [Gd(capro)(2)(H(2)O)(2)Cr(CN)(6)] (2'). Magnetic studies show the existence of antiferromagnetic Gd(III)-Cr(III) interaction in these complexes. On the basis of the tetranuclear model, the magnetic susceptibilities of 1 have been analyzed giving the intermetallic magnetic coupling constant of -0.36 cm(-1). Complex 2' exhibits a ferrimagnetic order below 2.1 K. Interestingly, 2' is quite soluble in water, and slow evaporation of the solution gives the hydrated complex 2. Therefore, 2' is a soluble molecular magnet, and this significant behavior implies potential applications. Isothermal magnetization measurements of 2' and other cyano-bridged Gd(III)-Cr(III) molecular magnets show unusual field-induced metamagnetic behavior from the ferrimagnetic ground state to the ferromagnetic state. Field dependence of magnetization of the cyano-bridged Gd(III)-Cr(III) complexes shows unusual field-induced metamagnetic behavior from the ferrimagnetic ground state to the ferromagnetic state.  相似文献

Crystals of the single-component molecular conductor [Cu(dmdt)(2)] (dmdt = dimethyltetrathiafulvalenedithiolate) were prepared as a molecular system, with three-dimensionally arranged magnetic moments embedded in "sea" of π conduction electrons. [Cu(dmdt)(2)] had fairly large room-temperature conductivity (110 S?cm(-1)) and exhibited weakly metallic behavior near room temperature. Below 265 K, the resistivity (R) increased very slowly with decreasing temperature and then increased rapidly, indicating a transition from a highly conducting state to an insulating state near 95 K. The magnetic susceptibility showed Curie-Weiss behavior at 100-300 K (C = 0.375 emu/mol, Θ = 180 K). The Curie constant and the high-temperature resistivity behavior indicate that conduction electrons and three-dimensionally arranged magnetic moments coexist in the crystal. The ESR intensity increased down to about 95 K. The ESR signal was broadened and decreased abruptly near 95 K, suggesting that electric and antiferromagnetic transitions occurred simultaneously near 95 K. The crystal structure was determined down to 13 K. To examine the stability of the twisted conformation of Cu complex with dithiolate ligands, the dihedral angle dependence of the conformational energy of an isolated M(L)(2)(n-) molecule was calculated, which revealed the dihedral angle dependence on the ligand (L) and the oxidation state of the molecule (n). High-pressure four-probe resistivity measurements were performed at 3.3-9.3 GPa using a diamond anvil cell. The small resistivity increase observed at 3.3 GPa below 60 K suggested that the insulating transition observed at ambient pressure near 95 K was essentially suppressed at 3.3 GPa. The intermolecular magnetic interactions were examined on the basis of simple mean field theory of antiferromagnetic transition and the calculated intermolecular overlap integrals of the singly occupied molecular orbital (SOMO) of Cu(dmdt)(2).  相似文献

The reaction of [Mn(3)O(O(2)CMe)(6)(py)(3)] with the tripodal ligand H(3)thme (1,1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane) affords the enneanuclear complex [Mn(9)O(7)(O(2)CCH(3))(11)(thme)(py)(3)(H(2)O)(2)] 1.1MeCN.1Et(2)O. The metallic skeleton of complex 1 comprises a series of 10 edge-sharing triangles that describes part of an idealized icosahedron. Variable temperature direct current (dc) magnetic susceptibility data collected in the 1.8-300 K temperature range and in fields up to 5.5 T were fitted to give a spin ground state of S = (17)/(2) with an axial zero-field splitting parameter D = -0.29 cm(-)(1). Ac susceptibility studies indicate frequency-dependent out-of-phase signals below 4 K and an effective barrier for the relaxation of the magnetization of U(eff) = 27 K. Magnetic measurements of single crystals of 1 at low temperature show time- and temperature-dependent hysteresis loops which contain steps at regular intervals of field. Inelastic neutron scattering (INS) studies on complex 1 confirm the S = (17)/(2) ground state and analysis of the INS transitions within the zero-field split ground state leads to determination of the axial anisotropy, D = -0.249 cm(-)(1), and the crystal field parameter, B(4)(0) = 7(4) x 10(-)(6) cm(-)(1). Frequency domain magnetic resonance spectroscopy (FDMRS) determined the same parameters as D = -0.247 cm(-)(1) and B(4)(0) = 4.6 x 10(-)(6) cm(-)(1). DFT calculations are fully consistent with the experimental findings of two Mn(II) and four Mn(III) ions "spin up" and three Mn(IV) ions "spin down" resulting in the S = (17)/(2) spin ground state of the molecule, with D = -0.23 cm(-)(1) and U = 26.2 K.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of compound [Rh(2)(O(2)CEt)(4)(H(2)O)(2)] (1) and one-dimensional heterobimetallic polymers K(n){Rh(2)(O(2)CEt)(4)[Au(CN)(2)]}(n) (2) and K(n){Rh(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)[Au(CN)(2)]}(n)·4nH(2)O (3), constructed from dirhodiumtetracarboxylato units, [Rh(2)(O(2)CR)(4)](+), and dicyanoaurate, [Au(CN)(2)](-), fragments are described. In both compounds 2 and 3 the resulting polymeric chains are nonlinear and have in common similar structural parameters, although the solid state supramolecular arrangement is very different. These structural differences explain the fact that complex 2 displays aurophilic interactions while this type of interactions are absent in complex 3. As a result, compound 2 shows rich blue luminescent properties whereas compound 3 is not luminescent. The electrical conductivity in solid state of compounds 2 and 3 is also studied.  相似文献

Heterobimetallic hexanuclear cyano-bridged complexes, [{Fe(Tp)(CN)3}4{M(MeCN)(H2O)2}(2)].10H2O.2MeCN [M = Ni (1), Co (2), Mn (3); Tp = hydrotris(1-pyrazolyl)borate], have been synthesized in H2O-MeCN solution. Complexes 1-3 are isostructural and hexanuclear with [{Fe(Tp)(CN)3}4{M(MeCN)(H2O)2}2] units linked by hydrogen bonds to form a 2D-structure in the solid state. Complex 1 is a canted antiferromagnet that undergoes a field-induced spin-flop-like transition at approximately 1 T and 2 K. At 4.45 K 1 has a transition to paramagnetic state of noninteracting S = 4 magnetic clusters. However, 2 and 3 show antiferromagnetic intracluster coupling. Facile loss of solvent from 2 alters the local symmetry resulting in changing the intracluster interaction from antiferro- to ferromagnetic.  相似文献

A new pi-d interaction system (EDT-TTFBr2)2FeBr4 (EDT-TTFBr2 = 4,5-dibromo-4',5'-ethylenedithiotetrathiafulvalene) and its nonmagnetic anion analogue (EDT-TTFBr2)2GaBr4 based on a brominated TTF-type organic donor are investigated. The salts featured by quasi-1D pi-electronic systems are metallic with metal-insulator transitions taking place at about 20 and 70 K for the FeBr4- and GaBr4- salts, respectively, where the low-temperature insulating state is associated with charge ordering or a Mott insulator followed by an antiferromagnetic transition at lower temperatures. The FeBr4- salt is featured with an antiferromagnetic transition of the anion d spins at a Neel temperature (TN) = 11 K, which is significantly high despite its long anion-anion Br-Br contact, suggesting the importance of the pi-d interaction in the magnetism. The surprisingly strong pi-d interaction, ca. -22.3 K estimated from the magnetization curve, evidences the usefulness of the chemical modification of the donor molecule with bromine substitution to achieve strong intermolecular interaction. The antiferromagnetic state of the anion d spins affects the transport of the conducting pi electrons through the strong pi-d interaction, as evidenced by the presence of a resistivity anomaly of the FeBr4- salt at TN. Below TN, the FeBr4- salt shows negative magnetoresistance that reaches -23% at the highest magnetic field investigated (B=15 T), whereas only a small positive magnetoresistance is observed in the pi-electron-only GaBr4- salt. The mechanism of the negative magnetoresistance is explained by the stabilization of the insulating state of the pi electrons by the periodic magnetic potential of the anion d spins in the FeBr4- salt, which is modified by applying the external magnetic field.  相似文献

Synthetic mineral libethenite Cu(2)PO(4)OH was prepared by the hydrothermal method, and its structure at 200 K was refined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of Cu(2)PO(4)OH is built up from Cu2(2)O(6)(OH)2 dimers of edge-sharing Cu2O(4)(OH) trigonal bipyramids and [Cu1(2)O(6)(OH)(2)] proportional chains of edge-sharing Cu1O(4)(OH)(2) octahedra. Magnetic properties of Cu(2)PO(4)OH were investigated by magnetic susceptibility, magnetization, and specific heat measurements. Cu(2)PO(4)OH is a spin-gap system with a spin gap of about 139 K. It was shown by spin dimer analysis that, to a first approximation, the magnetic structure of Cu(2)PO(4)OH is described by an isolated square-spin cluster model defined by the Cu1-O-Cu2 superexchange J with Cu1...Cu2 = 3.429 A. The fitting analysis of the magnetic susceptibility data with a square-spin cluster model results in J/k(B) = 138 K. Specific heat data show that Cu(2)PO(4)OH does not undergo a long-range magnetic ordering down to 1.8 K. We also report vibrational properties studied with Raman spectroscopy and the thermal stability of Cu(2)PO(4)OH.  相似文献

Reactions between [M(N(4)-macrocycle)](2+) (M = Zn(II) and Ni(II); macrocycle ligands are either CTH = d,l-5,5,7,12,12,14-hexamethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane or cyclam = 1,4, 8, 11-tetrazaazaciclotetradecane) and [M(CN)(6)](3-) (M = Fe(III) and Mn(III)) give rise to cyano-bridged assemblies with 1D linear chain and 2D honeycomblike structures. The magnetic measurements on the 1D linear chain complex [Fe(cyclam)][Fe(CN)(6)].6H(2)O 1 points out its metamagnetic behavior, where the ferromagnetic interaction operates within the chain and the antiferromagnetic one between chains. The Neel temperature, T(N), is 5.5 K and the critical field at 2 K is 1 T. The unexpected ferromagnetic intrachain interaction can be rationalized on the basis of the axially elongated octahedral geometry of the low spin Fe(III) ion of the [Fe(cyclam)](3+) unit. The isostructural substitution of [Fe(CN)(6)](3-) by [Mn(CN)(6)](3-) in the previously reported complex [Ni(cyclam)](3)[Fe(CN)(6)](2).12H(2)O 2 leads to [Ni(cyclam)](3)[Mn(CN)(6)](2).16 H(2)O 3, which exhibits a corrugated 2D honeycomblike structure and a metamagnetic behavior with T(N) = 16 K and a critical field of 1 T. In the ferromagnetic phase (H > 1 T) this compound shows a very important coercitive field of 2900 G at 2 K. Compound [Ni(CTH)](3)[Fe(CN)(6)](2).13H(2)O 4, C(60)H(116)Fe(2)N(24)Ni(3)O(13), monoclinic, A 2/n, a = 20.462(7), b = 16.292(4), c = 27.262(7) A, beta = 101.29(4) degrees, Z = 4, also has a corrugated 2D honeycomblike structure and a ferromagnetic intralayer interaction, but, in contrast to 2 and 3, does not exhibit any magnetic ordering. This fact is likely due to the increase of the interlayer separation in this compound. ([Zn(cyclam)Fe(CN)(6)Zn(cyclam)] [Zn(cyclam)Fe(CN)(6)].22H(2)O.EtOH) 5, C(44)H(122)Fe(2)N(24)O(23)Zn(3), monoclinic, A 2/n, a = 14.5474(11), b = 37.056(2), c = 14.7173(13) A, beta = 93.94(1) degrees, Z = 4, presents an unique structure made of anionic linear chains containing alternating [Zn(cyclam)](2+) and [Fe(CN)(6)](3)(-) units and cationic trinuclear units [Zn(cyclam)Fe(CN)(6)Zn(cyclam)](+). Their magnetic properties agree well with those expected for two [Fe(CN)(6)](3-) units with spin-orbit coupling effect of the low spin iron(III) ions.  相似文献

A single‐chain magnet (SCM) was constructed from manganese(III) 5,10,15‐tris(pentafluorophenyl)corrole complex [MnIII(tpfc)] through supramolecular π–π stacking without bridging ligands. In the crystal structures, [Mn(tpfc)] molecules crystallized from different solvents, such as methanol, ethyl acetate, and ethanol, exhibit different molecular orientations and intermolecular π–π interaction or weak Mn ??? O interaction to form a supramolecular one‐dimensional motif or dimer. These three complexes show very different magnetic behaviors at low temperature. Methanol solvate 1 shows obvious frequency dependence of out‐of‐phase alternating‐current magnetic susceptibility below 2 K and a magnetization hysteresis loop with a coercive field of 400 Oe at 0.5 K. In 1, V(III) is coordinated with three oxalate dianions as an approximately D3 symmetric, trigonally distorted octahedron. 1 is paramagnetic [mu(eff) = 2.68 mu(B) at 300 K, D = 3.84 cm(-1) (D/k(B) = 5.53 K), theta = -1.11 K, and g = 1.895], indicating an S = 1 ground state. 2 exhibits intralayer ferromagnetic coupling below 20 K, but does not magnetically order above 2 K, and 3 shows a strong antiferromagnetic interaction between V(II), S = 3/2 and Cr(III), S = 3/2 ions (theta = -116 K) within the 2-D layers. 4 and 4a magnetically order as ferrimagnets at T(c)'s, taken as the onset of magnetization, of 11 and 30 K, respectively. The 2 K remanent magnetizations are 2440 and 2230 emu.Oe mol(-1) and the coercive fields are 1460 and 4060 Oe for 4 and 4a, respectively. Both 4 and 4a clearly show frequency dependence, indicative of spin-glass-like behavior. The glass transition temperatures were at 6.3 and 27 K, respectively, for 4 and 4a. 1-D 5 exhibits antiferromagnetic coupling of -4.94 cm(-1) (H = -2Jsigma(i=1)n.S(i-1) - gmu(B)sigma(i=0)(n)H.S(i)) between the V(II) ions.  相似文献

The magnetic behaviour of the coordination polymer [Co(C(3)H(3)N(2))(2)](n) has been investigated by magnetization and specific heat measurements. Low-field magnetic susceptibility shows the presence of two maxima at approximately 8 and 4 K (T(f)), which reflect short-range low-dimensional antiferromagnetic behaviour and the existence of a spin-glass-like state, respectively. The latter state was observed by magnetic irreversibility in both the zero-field cooled and field-cooled data, and was also confirmed by specific heat measurements. The magnetic specific heat (C(mag)) shows a lack of any long-range ordered peaks. Instead, a broad maximum near T(f) was observed in the C(mag)(T)/T-curve. Below T(f), the C(mag)(T) data follow the relation: C(mag)(T)/T = gamma + AT. We suggest that the competition of the antiferromagnetic (AF) intra-chain and the ferromagnetic (F) inter-chain interactions in a low-dimensional arrangement of magnetic Co(2+) ions can produce the spin-glass behaviour in the sample. The susceptibility data was analyzed in terms of a spin S = 3/2 Heisenberg linear-chain model with a small exchange energy and is consistent with the presence of both F and AF interactions. The splitting of the crystal field energy levels of the Co(2+) ions causes a Schottky-type specific heat anomaly of around 60 K.  相似文献

A new Cu(II) complex, [Cu(3)(dcp)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](n), with the ligand 3,5-pyrazoledicarboxylic acid monohydrate (H(3)dcp) has been prepared by hydrothermal synthesis, and it crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with a = 11.633(2) A, b = 9.6005(14) A, c = 6.9230(17) A, beta = 106.01(2) degrees, and Z = 2. In the solid state structure of [Cu(3)(dcp)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](n), trinuclear [Cu(3)(dcp)(2)(H(2)O)(4)] repeating units in which two dcp(3-) ligands chelate the three Cu(II) ions with the central Cu(II) ion, Cu(1) (on an inversion center), link to form infinite 2D sheets via syn-anti equatorial-equatorial carboxylate bridges between Cu(2) atoms in adjacent trimers. These layers are further linked by syn-anti axial-equatorial carboxylate bridging between Cu(1) atoms in adjacent sheets resulting in the formation of a crystallographic 3D network. A detailed analysis of the magnetic properties of [Cu(3)(dcp)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](n) reveals that the dcp(3-) ligand acts to link Cu(II) centers in three different ways with coupling constants orders of magnitude apart in value. In the high temperature region above 50 K, the dominant interaction is strongly antiferromagnetic (J/k(B) = -32 K) within the trimer units mediated by the pyrazolate bridges. Below 20 K, the trimer motif can be modeled as an S = 1/2 unit. These units are coupled to their neighbors by a ferromagnetic interaction mediated by the syn-anti equatorial-equatorial carboxylate bridge. This interaction has been estimated at J(2D)/k(B) = +2.8 K on the basis of a 2D square lattice Heisenberg model. Finally, below 3.2 K a weak antiferromagnetic coupling (J(3D)/k(B) = -0.1 K) which is mediated by the syn-anti axial-equatorial carboxylate bridges between the 2D layers becomes relevant to describe the magnetic (T, H) phase diagram of this material.  相似文献

The synthesis, crystal structure, magnetic properties, and single-molecule conductance of two new trinuclear metal string complexes, [Ni(3)(dzp)(4)(NCS)(2)] (2) and [Co(3)(dzp)(4)(NCS)(2)] (3), containing the rigid Hdzp ligand (1, 1,9-diazaphenoxazine) are reported. X-ray structural analyses show that compounds 2 and 3 exhibit smaller torsion angles and longer metal-metal distances than those exhibited by the corresponding dpa(-) analogues (dpa(-) = dipyridylamido anion) due to the rigidity of Hdzp ligands. The longer metal-metal distance observed for 2 and 3 results in variations in their magnetic properties. The exchange interaction (J = -160 cm(-1)) between two high spin (HS) Ni(II) ions in 2 decreases slightly in comparison with those of trinickel dpa(-) analogues. The doublet-quartet gap of 3 is smaller than that of [Co(3)(dpa)(4)(NCS)(2)] (4), which causes compound 3 to show spin-crossover behavior even at low temperature.  相似文献
