LetM n be a Riemanniann-manifold. Denote byS(p) and Ric(p) the Ricci tensor and the maximum Ricci curvature onM n, respectively. In this paper we prove that everyC-totally real submanifold of a Sasakian space formM 2m+1(c) satisfies , whereH 2 andg are the square mean curvature function and metric tensor onM n, respectively. The equality holds identically if and only if eitherM n is totally geodesic submanifold or n = 2 andM n is totally umbilical submanifold. Also we show that if aC-totally real submanifoldM n ofM 2n+1 (c) satisfies identically, then it is minimal.  相似文献

Some results concerning almost hyperHermitian structures are considered, using the notions of the canonical connection and the second fundamental tensor field h of a structure on a Riemannian manifold which were introduced by the second author. With the help of any metric connection on an almost Hermitian manifold M an almost hyperHermitian structure can be constructed in the defined way on the tangent bundle TM. A similar construction was considered in [6], [7]. This structure includes two basic anticommutative almost Hermitian structures for which the second fundamental tensor fields h 1 and h 2 are computed. It allows us to consider various classes of almost hyperHermitian structures on TM. In particular, there exists an infinite-dimensional set of almost hyperHermitian structures on TTM where M is any Riemannian manifold.  相似文献

Suppose μ and ν are integer partitions of n, and N>n. It is well known that the Ferrers boards associated to μ and ν are rook-equivalent iff the multisets [μi+i:1iN] and [νi+i:1iN] are equal. We use the Garsia–Milne involution principle to produce a bijective proof of this theorem in which non-attacking rook placements for μ are explicitly matched with corresponding placements for ν. One byproduct is a direct combinatorial proof that the matrix of Stirling numbers of the first kind is the inverse of the matrix of Stirling numbers of the second kind. We also prove q-analogues and p,q-analogues of these results. We also use the Garsia–Milne involution principle to show that for any two rook boards B and B, if B and B are bijectively rook-equivalent, then B and B are bijectively hit-equivalent.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the Weyl conformal curvature tensor 𝒲 and the concircular curvature tensor 𝒞 on a (k, μ)′-almost Kenmotsu manifold M2n+1 of dimension greater than 3. We obtain that if M2n+1 satisfies either R · 𝒲 = 0 or 𝒞 · 𝒞 = 0, then it is locally isometric to either the hyperbolic space ?2n+1 (?1) or the Riemannian product ?n+1(?4) × ?n.  相似文献

It is shown that every bundle M of complex spinormodules over the Clifford bundle Cl(g) of a Riemannian space(M, g) with local model (V, h)is associated with an lpin(Lipschitz) structure on M, this being a reduction of theO(h)-bundle of all orthonormal frames on M to the Lipschitzgroup Lpin(h) of all automorphisms of a suitably defined spinspace. An explicit construction is given of the total space of theLpin(h)-bundle defining such a structure. If the dimension mof M is even, then the Lipschitz group coincides with the complexClifford group and the lpin structure can be reduced to a pin c structure. If m = 2n – 1, then a spinor module on M is of the Cartan type: its fibres are 2 n -dimensional anddecomposable at every point of M, but the homomorphism of bundlesof algebras Cl(g) End globally decomposes if, andonly if, M is orientable. Examples of such bundles are given. We present a data structure for ray-shooting queries in a set of convex fat polyhedra of total complexity n in . The data structure uses O(n2+ε) storage and preprocessing time, and queries can be answered in O(log2n) time. A trade-off between storage and query time is also possible: for any m with n<m<n2, we can construct a structure that uses O(m1+ε) storage and preprocessing time such that queries take time.We also describe a data structure for simplex intersection queries in a set of n convex fat constant-complexity polyhedra in . For any m with n<m<n3, we can construct a structure that uses O(m1+ε) storage and preprocessing time such that all polyhedra intersecting a query simplex can be reported in O((n/m1/3)logn+k) time, where k is the number of answers.  相似文献

In the paper, we discuss Voronovskaya-type theorem and saturation of convergence for q-Bernstein polynomials for arbitrary fixed q, 0<q<1. We give explicit formulas of Voronovskaya-type for the q-Bernstein polynomials for 0<q<1. If , we show that the rate of convergence for the q-Bernstein polynomials is o(qn) if and only ifWe also prove that if f is convex on [0,1] or analytic on (-ε,1+ε) for some ε>0, then the rate of convergence for the q-Bernstein polynomials is o(qn) if and only if f is linear.  相似文献

Stability of the Rossby–Haurwitz (RH) wave of subspace H1Hn in an ideal incompressible fluid on a rotating sphere is analytically studied (Hn is the subspace of homogeneous spherical polynomials of degree n). It is shown that any perturbation of the RH wave evolves in such a way that its energy K(t) and enstrophy η(t) decrease, remain constant or increase simultaneously. A geometric interpretation of variations in the perturbation energy is given. A conservation law for arbitrary perturbations is obtained and used to classify all the RH-wave perturbations in four invariant sets Mn, M+n, Hn and M0nHn depending on the value of their mean spectral number χ(t)=η(t)/K(t). The energy cascade of growing (or decaying) perturbations has opposite directions in the sets Mn and M+n due to a hyperbolic dependence between K(t) and χ(t). A factor space with a factor norm of the perturbations is introduced using the invariant subspace Hn of neutral perturbations as the zero factor class. While the energy norm controls the perturbation part belonging to Hn, the factor norm controls the perturbation part orthogonal to Hn. It is shown that in the set Mn (χ(t)<n(n+1)), any nonzonal RH wave of subspace H1Hn (n2) is Liapunov unstable in the energy norm. This instability has nothing in common with the orbital (Poincaré) instability and is caused by asynchronous oscillations of two almost coinciding RH-wave solutions. It is also shown that the exponential instability is possible only in the invariant set M0nHn. A necessary condition for this instability is given. The condition states that the spectral number χ(t) of the amplitude of each unstable mode must be equal to n(n+1), where n is the RH-wave degree. The growth rate is estimated and the orthogonality of the unstable normal modes to the RH wave is shown. The instability in the invariant set M+n of small-scale perturbations (χ(t)>n(n+1)) is still open problem.  相似文献

We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the function ψ(x)+[ψ(x+α)]2 or its negative to be completely monotonic on (−α,∞), where . We also prove that the function [ψ(x)]2+λψ(x) is completely monotonic on (0,∞) if and only if λ1. We present a new and simple (1+ε)-spanner of size O(n/ε2) for a set of n points in the plane, which can be maintained efficiently as the points move. Assuming the trajectories of the points can be described by polynomials whose degrees are at most s, the number of topological changes to the spanner is O((n/ε2)λs+2(n)), and at each event the spanner can be updated in O(1) time.  相似文献

Let Ln(3) denote the (2n+1)-dimensional standard lens space mod 3. In this paper, we study the conditions for a given real vector bundle over Ln(3) to be stably extendible to Lm(3) for every mn, and establish the formula on the power ζk=ζζ (k-fold) of a real vector bundle ζ over Ln(3). Let M n , n 3, be a complete oriented immersed minimal hypersurface in Euclidean space R n+1. We show that if the total scalar curvature on M is less than the n/2 power of 1/C s , where C s is the Sobolev constant for M, then there are no L 2 harmonic 1-forms on M. As corollaries, such a minimal hypersurface contains no nontrivial harmonic functions with finite Dirichlet integral and so it has only one end. This implies finally that M is a hyperplane.  相似文献

Let a text string T of n symbols and a pattern string P of m symbols from alphabet Σ be given. A swapped version T′ of T is a length n string derived from T by a series of local swaps (i.e., t ← tℓ + 1 and tℓ + 1 ← t), where each element can participate in no more than one swap. The pattern matching with swaps problem is that of finding all locations i for which there exists a swapped version T′ of T with an exact matching of P in location i of T′. It has been an open problem whether swapped matching can be done in less than O(nm) time. In this paper we show the first algorithm that solves the pattern matching with swaps problem in time o(nm). We present an algorithm whose time complexity is O(nm1/3 log m log σ) for a general alphabet Σ, where σ = min(m,Σ).  相似文献

This result provides a theoretical basis for a new continuation method of tracing the solution curve of the one parameter family of systems of equationsF(x, y) = tF(x 0, y0) and(x, y) R + 2n from an arbitrary initial point(x 0, y0) R + 2n witht = 1 until the parametert attains 0. This approach is an extension of the one used in the polynomially bounded algorithm recently given by Kojima, Mizuno and Yoshise for solving linear complementarity problems with positive semi-definite matrices.  相似文献
