In the present paper, we are concerned with the link between the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili–Toda (KP–Toda) hierarchy and the massive Thirring (MT) model. First, we bilinearize the MT model under both the vanishing and nonvanishing boundary conditions. Starting from a set of bilinear equations of two-component KP–Toda hierarchy, we derive multibright solution to the MT model. Then, considering a set of bilinear equations of the single-component KP–Toda hierarchy, multidark soliton and multibreather solutions to the MT model are constructed by imposing constraints on the parameters in two types of tau function, respectively. The dynamics and properties of one- and two-soliton for bright, dark soliton and breather solutions are analyzed in details.  相似文献

We prove L2 orbital stability of Dirac solitons in the massive Thirring model. Our method uses local well posedness of the massive Thirring model in L2, conservation of the charge functional, and the auto–Bäcklund transformation. The latter transformation exists because the massive Thirring model is integrable via the inverse scattering transform method.  相似文献

In the present paper, we construct exact solutions to a system of partial differential equations iux + v + u | v | 2 = 0, ivt + u + v | u | 2 = 0 related to the Thirring model. First, we introduce a transform of variables, which puts the governing equations into a more useful form. Because of symmetries inherent in the governing equations, we are able to successively obtain solutions for the phase of each nonlinear wave in terms of the amplitudes of both waves. The exact solutions can be described as belonging to two classes, namely, those that are essentially linear waves and those which are nonlinear waves. The linear wave solutions correspond to waves propagating with constant amplitude, whereas the nonlinear waves evolve in space and time with variable amplitudes. In the traveling wave case, these nonlinear waves can take the form of solitons, or solitary waves, given appropriate initial conditions. Once the general solution method is outlined, we focus on a number of more specific examples in order to show the variety of physical solutions possible. We find that radiation naturally emerges in the solution method: if we assume one of u or v with zero background, the second wave will naturally include both a solitary wave and radiation terms. The solution method is rather elegant and can be applied to related partial differential systems. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We study global well-posedness for the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili II equation in three space dimensions with small initial data. The crucial points are new bilinear estimates and the definition of the function spaces. As by-product we obtain that all solutions to small initial data scatter as t→±∞.  相似文献

In this paper, the Darboux transformation of the Kundu–nonlinear Schrödinger equation is derived and generalized to the matrix of n‐fold Darboux transformation. From known solution Q, the determinant representation of n‐th new solutions of Q[n] are obtained by the n‐fold Darboux transformation. Then soliton solutions and positon solutions are generated from trivial seed solutions, breather solutions and rogue wave solutions that are obtained from periodic seed solutions. After that, the higher order rogue wave solutions of the Kundu–nonlinear Schrödinger equation are given. We show that free parameters in eigenfunctions can adjust the patterns of the higher order rogue waves. Meanwhile, the third‐order rogue waves are given explicitly. In this letter, we investigate the dynamics and various interaction scenarios of localized wave structures in the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP)-based system. By using a combination of the Hirota’s bilinear method and the KP hierarchy reduction method, new families of determinant semi-rational solutions of the KP-based system are derived, including lump solitons and rogue-wave solitons. The generic interaction scenarios between distinct types of localized wave solutions are investigated. Our detailed study reveals different types of interaction phenomena: fusion of lumps and line solitons into line solitons, fission of line solitons into lumps and line solitons, a mixture of fission and fusion processes of lumps and line solitons, and the inelastic collision of line rogue waves and line solitons.  相似文献

In this article, we address the Cauchy problem for the KP-I equation
?tu+?x3u??x?1?y2u+u?xu=0
for functions periodic in y. We prove global well-posedness of this problem for any data in the energy space E={uL2(R×T),?xuL2(R×T),?x?1?yuL2(R×T)}. We then prove that the KdV line soliton, seen as a special solution of KP-I equation, is orbitally stable under this flow, as long as its speed is small enough.  相似文献

By virtue of the bilinear method and the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy reduction technique, wider classes of high-order breather and semirational and rogue wave solutions to the Boussinesq equation are derived. These solutions are presented explicitly in terms of Gram determinants, whose matrix elements have simply algebraic expressions. The breather and rogue wave solutions are derived from two different types of tau functions of a bilinear equation in the single-component KP hierarchy. By taking a long wave limit of high-order breather solutions, a range of hybrid solutions consisting of solitons, breathers, and one fundamental rogue wave are generated. For the rational rogue waves, some typical patterns such as Peregrine-type, triple, and sextuple rogue waves are put forward by modifying the input parameters. Besides, a new rogue wave pattern of third-order rogue waves is found, which features a mixture of a triangular pattern of three fundamental rogue waves and a fundamental pattern of second-order rogue wave. These results may help understand the protean rogue wave manifestations in areas ranging from water waves to fluid dynamics.  相似文献

In this paper, a coupled nonlinear Schrödinger (CNLS) equation, which can describe evolution of localized waves in a two‐mode nonlinear fiber, is under investigation. By using the Darboux‐dressing transformation, the new localized wave solutions of the equation are well constructed with a detailed derivation. These solutions reveal rogue waves on a soliton background. Moreover, the main characteristics of the solutions are discussed with some graphics. Our results would be of much importance in predicting and enriching rogue wave phenomena in nonlinear wave fields.  相似文献

In this paper, the Maccari system is investigated, which is viewed as a two-dimensional extension of nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We derive doubly localized two-dimensional rogue waves on the dark solitons of the Maccari system with Kadomtsev–Petviashvili hierarchy reduction method. The two-dimensional rogue waves include line segment rogue waves and rogue-lump waves, which are localized in two-dimensional space and time. These rogue waves are generated by the resonant collision of rational solitary waves and dark solitons, the whole process of transforming elastic collision into resonant collision is analytically studied. Furthermore, we also discuss the local characteristics and asymptotic properties of these rogue waves. Simultaneously, the generating conditions of the line segment rogue wave and rogue-lump wave are also given, which provides the possibility to predict rogue wave. Finally, a new way to obtain the high-order rogue waves of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation are given by proper reduction from the semi-rational solutions of the Maccari system.  相似文献

In this paper, we clarify the connection of the Fokas–Lenells (FL) equation to the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP)–Toda hierarchy by using a set of bilinear equations as a bridge and confirm multidark soliton solution to the FL equation previously given by Matsuno (J. Phys. A 2012 45 (475202). We also show that the set of bilinear equations in the KP–Toda hierarchy can be generated from a single discrete KP equation via Miwa transformation. Based on this finding, we further deduce the multibreather and general rogue wave solutions to the FL equation. The dynamical behaviors and patterns for both the breather and rogue wave solutions are illustrated and analyzed.  相似文献

Many reaction–diffusion models produce traveling wave solutions that can be interpreted as waves of invasion in biological scenarios such as wound healing or tumor growth. These partial differential equation models have since been adapted to describe the interactions between cells and extracellular matrix (ECM), using a variety of different underlying assumptions. In this work, we derive a system of reaction–diffusion equations, with cross-species density-dependent diffusion, by coarse-graining an agent-based, volume-filling model of cell invasion into ECM. We study the resulting traveling wave solutions both numerically and analytically across various parameter regimes. Subsequently, we perform a systematic comparison between the behaviors observed in this model and those predicted by simpler models in the literature that do not take into account volume-filling effects in the same way. Our study justifies the use of some of these simpler, more analytically tractable models in reproducing the qualitative properties of the solutions in some parameter regimes, but it also reveals some interesting properties arising from the introduction of cell and ECM volume-filling effects, where standard model simplifications might not be appropriate.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider travelling wave solutions for a modified vector-disease model. Special attention is paid to the model in which a susceptible vector can receive the infection not only from the infectious host but also from the infectious vector. For the strong generic delay kernel, we show that travelling wave solutions exist using the geometric singular perturbation theory.  相似文献

The existence of a family of traveling waves is established for a parabolic system modeling single species growth in a plug flow reactor, proving a conjecture of Kennedy and Aris (Bull. Math. Biol. 42 (1980) 397) for a similar system. The proof uses phase plane analysis, geometric singular perturbation theory and the center manifold theorem.  相似文献

A new vector long wave-short wave-type model is proposed by resorting to the zero-curvature equation. Based on the resulting Riccati equations related to the Lax pair and the gauge transformations between the Lax pairs, multifold Darboux transformations are constructed for the vector long wave-short wave-type model. This method is general and is suitable for constructing the Darboux transformations of other soliton equations, especially in the absence of symmetric conditions for Lax pairs. As an illustrative example of the application of the Darboux transformations, exact solutions of the two-component long wave-short wave-type model are obtained, including solitons, breathers, and rogue waves of the first, second, third, and fourth orders. All the solutions derived by the Darboux transformations involve square roots of functions, which is not observed in the investigation of other nonlinear integrable equations. This model describes new nonlinear phenomena.  相似文献

We obtain a strong solution in charge critical space L2(R) of the Thirring system and Federbusch equations in one space dimension by using solution representation of the models. The uniqueness is obtained for the solution ΨL([0,T];L2(R)∩L4(R)). A decay of local charge and asymptotic behavior of the field can be shown directly.  相似文献
