In this article, cyclic codes and negacyclic codes over formal power series rings are studied. The structure of cyclic codes over this class of rings is given, and the relationship between these codes and cyclic codes over finite chain rings is obtained. Using an isomorphism between cyclic and negacyclic codes over formal power series rings, the structure of negacyclic codes over the formal power series rings is obtained.  相似文献

It is well known that the problem of determining the weight distributions of families of cyclic codes is, in general, notoriously difficult. An even harder problem is to find characterizations of families of cyclic codes in terms of their weight distributions. On the other hand, it is also well known that cyclic codes with few weights have a great practical importance in coding theory and cryptography. In particular, cyclic codes having three nonzero weights have been studied by several authors, however, most of these efforts focused on cyclic codes over a prime field. In this work we present a characterization of a class of optimal three-weight cyclic codes of dimension 3 over any finite field.  相似文献

Classical Goppa codes are a special case of Alternant codes. First we prove that the parity-check subcodes of Goppa codes and the extended Goppa codes are both Alternant codes. Before this paper, all known cyclic Goppa codes were some particular BCH codes. Many families of Goppa codes with a cyclic extension have been found. All these cyclic codes are in fact Alternant codes associated to a cyclic Generalized Reed–Solomon code. In (1989, J. Combin. Theory Ser. A 51, 205–220) H. Stichtenoth determined all cyclic extended Goppa codes with this property. In a recent paper (T. P. Berger, 1999, in “Finite Fields: Theory, Applications and Algorithms (R. Mullin and G. Mullen, Eds.), pp. 143–154, Amer. Math. Soc., Providence), we used some semi-linear transformations on GRS codes to construct cyclic Alternant codes that are not associated to cyclic GRS codes. In this paper, we use these results to construct cyclic Goppa codes that are not BCH codes, new families of Goppa codes with a cyclic extension, and some families of non-cyclic Goppa codes with a cyclic parity-check subcode.  相似文献

We determine the structure of cyclic codes over for arbitrary even length giving the generator polynomial for these codes. We determine the number of cyclic codes for a given length. We describe the duals of the cyclic codes, describe the form of cyclic codes that are self-dual and give the number of these codes. We end by examining specific cases of cyclic codes, giving all cyclic self-dual codes of length less than or equal to 14. Cyclic codes over an infinite family of rings are defined. The general properties of cyclic codes over these rings are studied, in particular nontrivial one-generator cyclic codes are characterized. It is also proved that the binary images of cyclic codes over these rings under the natural Gray map are binary quasi-cyclic codes of index 2 k . Further, several optimal or near optimal binary codes are obtained from cyclic codes over R k via this map.  相似文献

In this paper, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of non-trivial cyclic self-dual codes over finite chain rings. We prove that there are no free cyclic self-dual codes over finite chain rings with odd characteristic. It is also proven that a self-dual code over a finite chain ring cannot be the lift of a binary cyclic self-dual code. The number of cyclic self-dual codes over chain rings is also investigated as an extension of the number of cyclic self-dual codes over finite fields given recently by Jia et al.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is the classification of two-weight irreducible cyclic codes. Using Fourier transforms and Gauss sums, we obtain necessary and sufficient numerical conditions for an irreducible cyclic code to have at most two weights. This gives a unified explanation for all two-weight irreducible cyclic codes and allows a conjecturally complete classification. Aside from the two known infinite families of two-weight irreducible cyclic codes, a computer search reveals 11 sporadic examples. We conjecture that these are already all two-weight irreducible cyclic codes and give a partial proof of our conjecture conditionally on GRH.  相似文献

We present a new approach to the theory of cyclic and constacyclic codes and generalize the theory to cover the family of additive (not necessarily linear) cyclic codes. The approach is based on the action of the Galois group (cyclotomic cosets). The conventional representation of cyclic codes as ideals in a factor ring of the polynomial ring is not needed.  相似文献

Cyclic subspace codes gained a lot of attention especially because they may be used in random network coding for correction of errors and erasures. Roth, Raviv and Tamo in 2018 established a connection between cyclic subspace codes (with certain parameters) and Sidon spaces. These latter objects were introduced by Bachoc, Serra and Zémor in 2017 in relation with the linear analogue of Vosper's Theorem. This connection allowed Roth, Raviv and Tamo to construct large classes of cyclic subspace codes with one or more orbits. In this paper we will investigate cyclic subspace codes associated to a set of Sidon spaces, that is cyclic subspace codes with more than one orbit. Moreover, we will also use the geometry of linear sets to provide some bounds on the parameters of a cyclic subspace code. Conversely, cyclic subspace codes are used to construct families of linear sets which extend a class of linear sets recently introduced by Napolitano, Santonastaso, Polverino and the author. This yields large classes of linear sets with a special pattern of intersection with the hyperplanes, defining rank metric and Hamming metric codes with only three distinct weights.  相似文献

Generalized quasi-cyclic (GQC) codes have been investigated as well as quasi-cyclic (QC) codes, e.g., on the construction of efficient low-density parity-check codes. While QC codes have the same length of cyclic intervals, GQC codes have different lengths of cyclic intervals. Similarly to QC codes, each GQC code can be described by an upper triangular generator polynomial matrix, from which the systematic encoder is constructed. In this paper, a complete theory of generator polynomial matrices of GQC codes, including a relation formula between generator polynomial matrices and parity-check polynomial matrices through their equations, is provided. This relation generalizes those of cyclic codes and QC codes. While the previous researches on GQC codes are mainly concerned with 1-generator case or linear algebraic approach, our argument covers the general case and shows the complete analogy of QC case. We do not use Gröbner basis theory explicitly in order that all arguments of this paper are self-contained. Numerical examples are attached to the dual procedure that extracts one from each other. Finally, we provide an efficient algorithm which calculates all generator polynomial matrices with given cyclic intervals.  相似文献

Generalizing even-like duadic cyclic codes and Type-II duadic negacyclic codes, we introduce even-like (i.e., Type-II) and odd-like duadic constacyclic codes, and study their properties and existence. We show that even-like duadic constacyclic codes are isometrically orthogonal, and the duals of even-like duadic constacyclic codes are odd-like duadic constacyclic codes. We exhibit necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of even-like duadic constacyclic codes. A class of even-like duadic constacyclic codes which are alternant MDS-codes is constructed.  相似文献
