The use of chemically modified XAD-4-salen chelating resin had been studied for the separative concentration of metal ions from an aqueous solution. XAD-4-salen was synthesized by diazonium coupling reaction of salen[N,N′-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine] and Amberlite XAD-4 resin. The distribution coefficient at various pH values and adsorption capacities were obtained with respect to Cu(II), Pb(II) and Bi(III). Trace elements were pre-concentrated on the synthesized XAD-4-salen by batch method for atomic absorption spectrometric determination. Some conditions, such as the pH of aqueous solution, amount of XAD-4-salen, kinds and concentration of acids were optimized for the analytical application of XAD-4-salen. For the pre-concentration of metal ions, the pH of the aqueous solution was adjusted to approximately 5.5, and then it was stirred 30 min after the addition of 50 mg of pulverized XAD-4-salen. The adsorbed metal ions were desorbed by 10 mL of 1.0 M HNO3. The desorption efficiency of Bi(III) was enhanced by the addition of 30 mg/L of Pd(II). The addition of Pd(II) as a matrix modifier could improve the reproducibility and sensitivity in the Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) determination of volatile lead and bismuth. In the present study, this procedure has been applied for the determination of Cu(II), Pb(II) and Bi(III) in real samples of five kinds of river water, using a standard calibration curve method. Recoveries of 85–120% were obtained in the spiked samples in which given amount of analytes were added.  相似文献

A solid phase extraction method for the determination of Cu(II), Mn(II) and Zn(II) metal ions in natural water and leafy vegetable samples by ICP-AES was developed. The method was based on the sorption of metal ions onto Amberlite XAD-16 functionalized with a new chelating ligand potassium 2-benzoylhydrazinecarbodithioate (Amberlite XAD-16-PBHCD) and elution with nitric acid. The optimum experimental conditions for the quantitative sorption of the three metal ions, namely, effect of pH, sample volume, flow rate, concentration of eluent, sorption capacity, kinetics of sorption, and the effect of diverse ions on the sorption of analytes have been investigated. All the metal ions were quantitatively retained by the functionalized resin at pH 5.0 and sorbed metals could be eluted with 2.0?M HNO3. The detection limits were 5.6, 4.5 and 1.8?µg?L?1 for Cu(II), Mn(II) and Zn(II), respectively. The developed method was applied for the determination of Cu(II), Mn(II) and Zn(II) in water and leafy vegetable samples.  相似文献

Preconcentration of Cd(II), Cu(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) in saline matrices on Amberlite XAD-4 resins coated with ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC) and piperidine dithiocarbamate (pipDTC) and subsequent determination by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry were studied. Parameters such as effect of pH, effect of HNO(3) concentration on elution of metals from resin were studied. The results show that Amberlite XAD-4 coated with APDC was more efficient in the recovery of metal ions compared with Amberlite XAD-4 coated with pipDTC, in the concentration range of 0.1-200 mug l(-1), for 1 g of Amberlite XAD-4 coated resin. The detection limits for Cd(II), Cu(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Zn(II) are 0.1, 0.4, 0.3, 0.4, 0.6, 0.5 mug l(-1), respectively, for resin coated with APDC and 0.7, 1.0, 0.8, 0.9, 1.7 and 1.2 mug l(-1) for resin coated with pipDTC. The effect of diverse ions on the determination of aforesaid metals was studied. The method was applied for the determination of trace metal ions in artificial sea water and natural water samples. The results were compared with extraction AAS method.  相似文献

A sensitive solid-phase extraction technique (SPE) for the enrichment of Fe(III), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr(III) prior to atomic absorption spectrometric analysis is described. Escherichia coli immobilized on Amberlite XAD-4 was used as a solid-phase extractor. The effects of the pH, amount of solid-phase, eluent type and volume of the sample solution on the recovery of the metal ions were investigated. The effect of diverse ions was also investigated. The recoveries of Fe(III), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr(III) under the optimum conditions were found to be 99 +/- 2, 99 +/- 3, 98 +/- 2, 98 +/- 3%, respectively, at the 95% confidence level. The detection limits of the metal ions were found as to be 2.4, 3.8, 1.3 and 1.7 ng ml(-1) for Fe(II), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr(III) respectively, by applying a preconcentration factor of 25. The proposed enrichment method was applied to the determination of analytes in Atatürk Dam water samples, and alloy samples (RSD < 5%). The accuracy of the method was verified on certified alloy samples (NBS SRM 85b and NBS SRM 59a). The analytes were determined with a relative error lower than 5% in water and alloy samples.  相似文献

Preconcentration/separation of Co(II), Fe(III), Pb(II), Cr(III), Cu(II) and Cd(II) ions using bis(5‐bromo‐2‐hydroxy‐benzaldehyde)‐2‐methyl‐1,5‐pentane diimine (BBHBPDI) on SDS coated alumina has been reported. The influences of the analytical parameters including pH, ligand and SDS amount, type and concentration of eluent and sample volume on metal ions recoveries were investigated. At optimum values of all variables the relative standard deviation are between 2.5–2.7 and preconcentration factor was 375, while recoveries for all understudy metal ions are higher than 95%, determination limits are between 1.5–2.7. The method has been successfully applied to determination of Co(II), Fe(III), Pb(II), Cr(III), Cu(II) and Cd(II) ions content in some real samples.  相似文献

A simple and accurate solid phase extraction method was developed for the determination of Cu(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) at trace levels by microsample injection system coupled flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The proposed method is based on the retention of complexes of metal ions with 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol on Amberlite XAD-7 resin and elution with acetone. The possible parameters influencing the preconcentration were optimized. The interferences of coexisting ions were studied. Under the optimal conditions, the detection limits of Cu(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) were 0.058, 0.013, and 0.027 µg L?1, respectively. The applicability and the accuracy of the proposed method were validated by analysis of BCR 715 wastewater as a certified reference material and spiked real samples. Recoveries in the range of 94–105% were obtained with relative errors less than 7.5% and relative standard deviations less than 3.2%.  相似文献

A selective and sensitive method for simultaneous determination of lead, zinc and copper by adsorptive differential pulse cathodic stripping voltammetry is presented. The method is based on adsorptive accumulation of the complexes of Pb(II), Zn(II), and Cu(II) ions with dopamine onto hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE), followed by reduction of adsorbed species by differential pulse cathodic stripping voltammetry. The effect of experimental parameters such as pH, dopamine concentration, accumulation time and potential and scan rate were examined. Under the optimized conditions, linear calibration curves were established for the concentration of Pb, Zn, and Cu in the ranges of 5–150, 5–250, and 1–150 ng/mL, respectively. Detection limits of 0.06, 0.25, and 0.04 ng/mL for Pb, Zn, and Cu were obtained. An application of the proposed method is reported for the determination of these elements in some real samples such as natural waters and alloys.  相似文献

Two novel azocalix[4]pyrrole Amberlite XAD-2 polymeric chelating resins were synthesized by covalently linking diazotized Amberlite XAD-2 with calix[4]pyrrole macrocycles. The chelating resins were used for extraction, preconcentration and sequential separation of metal ions such as Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) by column chromatography prior to their determination by UV/vis spectrophotometry or flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry (FAAS) or inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES). Various parameters such as effect of pH on absorption, concentration of eluting agents, flow rate, total sorption capacity, exchange kinetics, preconcentration factor, distribution coefficient, breakthrough capacity and resin stability, were optimized for effective separation and preconcentration. The resin showed good ability for the separation of metal ions from binary and ternary mixture on the basis of pH of absorption and concentration of eluting agents. The newly synthesized resins showed good potential for trace enrichment of Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) metal ions, especially for Cu(II), as compared to the earlier reported resins. The synthesized resins were recycled at least 8-10 times without much affecting column sorption capacity. The presented method was successfully applied for determination of Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) in natural and ground water samples.  相似文献

A new solid-phase extraction method utilising polyacrylonitrile activated carbon fibres (PAN-ACFs) as adsorbent was developed for the preconcentration of trace metal ions prior to their determination by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The PAN-ACFs oxidised with nitric acid were characterised by FT-IR, XRD, SEM and BET analysis. Then the resulting PAN-ACFs were used as solid-phase adsorbent for simultaneously determination of trace Al(III), Be(II), Bi(III), Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II) ions in aqueous solutions. The influences of the analytical parameters on the recoveries of the studied ions were investigated. The optimum experimental conditions of the proposed method were pH: 6.0; eluent concentration and volume: 3.0 mL of 1.5 mol L?1 nitric acid; flow rates of sample and eluent solution: 1.5 mL min?1. The preconcentration factors were found to be 67 for Al(III), Bi(III); 83 for Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and 50 for Be(II), Pb(II). The precision of this method was in range of 1.5%~3.5% and the detection limit of this metal ions was between 0.06~1.50 μg L?1. The developed method was validated by the analysis of a certified reference sample and successfully applied to the determination of trace metal ions in water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A new chelating polymer has been developed using Amberlite XAD-16 anchored with Quercetin. The modified polymer was characterised by Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, surface area analysis and elemental analysis. The Quercetin anchored polymer showed superior binding affinity for Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with greater than 95% adsorption under optimum conditions. The optimum pH conditions for the quantitative sorption of metal ions were studied. The developed method showed superior extraction qualities with high metal loading capacities of 387, 313, 195, 473, 210 and 320 µmol g?1 for Cu(II), Co(II), Cr(III), Fe(III), Mn(II) and Ni(II), respectively. The rate of metal ion uptake i.e. kinetics studies performed under optimum levels, showed t 1/2 for Co(II), Cu(II), Cr(III), Fe(III), Mn(II) and Ni(II) is 20, 15, 25, 10, 30 and 15 min, respectively. Desorption of metal ions was effective with 10 mL of 2 M HCl prior to analysis using flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The chelating polymer was highly ion selective in nature even in the presence of interferent ions, with a high preconcentrating ability for the metal ions of interest. The developed chelating polymer was tested on its utility with synthetic and real samples like river, tap water samples and also with multivitamin tablets. It showed relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) values of/less than 3.0% reflecting on the accuracy and reproducibility of data using the newly developed chelating polymer.  相似文献

A new polychelatogen, AXAD-16-1,2-diphenylethanolamine, was developed by chemically modifying Amberlite XAD-16 with 1,2-diphenylethanolamine to produce an effective metal-chelating functionality for the preconcentration of Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II) and their determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Various physiochemical parameters that influence the quantitative preconcentration and recovery of metal were optimized by both static and dynamic techniques. The resin showed superior extraction efficiency with high-metal loading capacity values of 0.73, 0.80, 0.77, 0.87, 0.74, and 0.81 mmol/g for Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II), respectively. The system also showed rapid metal-ion extraction and stripping, with complete saturation in the sorbent phase within 15 min for all the metal ions. The optimum condition for effective metal-ion extraction was found to be a neutral pH, which is a great advantage in the preconcentration of trace metal ions from natural water samples without any chemical pretreatment of the sample. The resin also demonstrated exclusive ion selectivity toward targeted metal ions by showing greater resistivity to various complexing species and more common metal ions during analyte concentration, which ultimately led to high preconcentration factors of 700 for Cu(II); 600 for Mn(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II); and 500 for Cd(II) and Pb(II), arising from a larger sample breakthrough volume. The lower limits of metal-ion detection were 7 ng/mL for Mn(II) and Ni(II); 5 ng/mL for Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II), and 10 ng/mL for Pb(II). The developed resin was successful in preconcentrating metal ions from synthetic and real water samples, multivitamin-multimineral tablets, and curry leaves (Murraya koenigii) with relative standard deviations of < or = 3.0% for all analytical measurements, which demonstrated its practical utility.  相似文献

A new chelating resin, 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) coated Amberlite XAD-1180 (AXAD-1180), was prepared and used for the preconcentration of Cd(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) ions prior to their determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The optimum pH for simultaneous retention of the elements and the best elution means for their simultaneous elution were pH 9.5 and 3 M HNO3, respectively. The sorption capacity of the resin was found to be 5.3 mg/g for Cd and 3.7 mg/g for Ni. The detection limits for Cd(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) were 0.7, 10, 3.1, 29 and 0.8 μg/L, respectively. The effects of interfering ions for quantitative sorption of the metal ions were investigated. The preconcentration factors of the method were in the range of 10–30. The recoveries obtained were quantitative (≥95%). The standard reference material (GBW07605 Tea sample) was analysed for accuracy of the described method. The proposed method was successfully applied to the analysis of various water, urea fertilizer and tea samples. The article is published in the original.  相似文献

Summary A reversed-phase ion-pair chromatographic (RPIPC) method withN,N,N′, N′-ethylenediaminetetrakis(methylenephosphonic acid) (EDTMP) as coordinating agent has been developed for simultaneous separation and detection of Cu(II), Fe(III), and Pb(II) ions. Response is linearly dependent on amount of sample over the range 9.52–50.8 μg mL−1 for Cu(II), 8.31–41.8 μg mL−1 for Fe(III), and 37.3–51.8 μg mL−1 for Pb(II). The method has been applied successfully to an artificial mixed-ore sample.  相似文献

This paper describes the synthesis and characterization of a fluorescent ion-imprinted polymer (IIP) for selective determination of copper ions in aqueous samples. The IIP has been prepared using a novel functional monomer, 4-[(E)-2-(4′-methyl-2,2′-bipyridin-4-yl)vinyl]phenyl methacrylate (abbreviated as BSOMe) that has been spectroscopically characterized in methanolic solution, in the absence and in the presence of several metal ions, including Cd(II), Cu(II), Hg(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), and Zn(II). The stability constant (2.04 × 108 mol−2 l2) and stoichiometry (L2M) of the BSOMe complex with Cu(II) were extracted thereof. Cu(II)-IIPs were prepared by radical polymerization using stoichiometric amounts of the fluorescent monomer and the template metal ion. The resulting cross-linked network did not show any leaching of the immobilized ligand allowing determination of Cu(II) in aqueous samples by fluorescence quenching measurements. Several parameters affecting optosensor performance have been optimized, including sample pH, ionic strength, or polymer regeneration for online analysis of water samples. The synthesized Cu(II)-IIP exhibits a detection limit of 0.04 μmol l−1 for the determination of Cu(II) in water samples with a reproducibility of 3%, exhibiting an excellent selectivity towards the template ion over other metal ions with the same charge and close ionic radius. The IIP-based optosensor has been repeatedly used and regenerated for more than 50 cycles without a significant decrease in the luminescent properties and binding affinity of the sensing phase.  相似文献

A novel chemiluminescence (CL) flow system has been developed for the sequential determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) in water. Fe(II) was detected by its catalytic effect on the CL reaction between luminol immobilized on an anion exchange resin column and dissolved oxygen; Fe(III) was determined by difference measurement after on-line conversion to Fe(II) in a reducing mini-column packed with Cu plated Zn granules. For both ions, the calibration graph was linear in the range 1 × 10–9 to 1 × 10–6 g/mL, and the detection limit was 4 × 10–10 g/mL. A complete analysis could be performed in 1.5 min with a relative standard deviation of less than 5%. The system could be reused for over 200 times and has been applied successfully to the determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) in natural water samples. The sorption of ions of zinc on carriers modified by 8-oxychinoline and its derivative is investigated. The optimum parameters of sorption are revealed, based on which silochrome S-60 with immobilized 8-oxychinoline (pH 7.1, time of contact 30 min, weight of sorbent 0.3 g, capacity of sorbent on the modifier 60 μmol/g) is chosen. A yellow-green fluorescence sorbate arises on irradiation by ultra-violet light in a phase sorbent. The spectrum of fluorescence represents a wide unstructured strip with a maximum at 505 nm. In the construction of a calibrated graph, Cu(II), Cd(II), Pb (II), Bi(III), and Fe(III) do not prevent the determination of 5–50 μg of zinc; however, equal amounts of Al(III) (50–100 μg) do prevent it. The technique is applied for the sorption-fluorimetric determination of zinc in river and waste water. The relative standard deviation does not exceed 0.05 (n = 5).  相似文献

A separation/preconcentration procedure based on the coprecipitation of Pb(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Cr(III) and Zn(II) ions with copper(II)-N-benzoyl-N-phenyl-hydroxylamine complex (Cu-BPHA) has been developed. The analytical variables including pH, amount of BPHA, amount of copper(II) as carrier element, and sample volume were investigated for the quantitative recoveries of the elements. No interfering effects were observed from the concomitant ions when present in real samples. The recoveries of the analyte ions were in the range of 95–100%. The detection limits (3 s) for Pb(II), Co(II), Fe(III), Cr(III) and Zn(II) ions were found to be 2.3, 0.7, 0.7, 0.3 and 0.4 µg L?1, respectively. The validation of the procedure was performed by the analysis of CRM (SRM NIST-1547 peach leaves and LGC6019 river water) standard reference materials. The method was applied to the determination of the analytes in real samples including natural waters, hair, urine, soil, sediment and peritoneal fluids samples etc., and good results were obtained (relative standard deviations <4%, recoveries >95%).  相似文献

An ICP-OES method using a new poly-acrylacylisothiourea chelating fiber to preconcentrate and separate trace Ti(IV), V(V) and Bi(III) ions from solution samples is established. The results show that 5–25 ng/ml of Ti or V and 50–250 ng/ml of Bi ions in 200–1000 ml of solution can be enriched quantitatively by 0.05 g of the fiber at pH 3 with recoveries over 97%. These ions can be desorbed quantitatively with 10 ml of 4M HC1O4. 100- to 1000-fold excesses of Fe(III), Al(III), Ca(II), Mg(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) and Mn(II) ions cause little interference. The chelating fiber stored for about 2 years can still be used repeatedly for preconcentration and separation of trace Ti, V and Bi ions from solution with above 95% recovery. The RSDs for enrichment and determination of 5 ng/ml of Ti or V and 50 ng/ml of Bi are in the range 2.5–2.8%. The recoveries of added standard in real waste waters and mineral samples are between 96 and 100%, and the concentration found for each ion in the mineral sample was in good agreement with that measured by ETAAS.  相似文献

A microorganism Agrobacterium tumefacients as an immobilized cell on a solid support was presented as a new biosorbent for the enrichment of Fe(III), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr(III) prior to flame atomic absorption spectrometric analysis. Amberlite XAD-4 was used as a support material for column preconcentration. Various parameters such as pH, amount of adsorbent, eluent type and volume, flow rate of sample solution, volume of sample solution and matrix interference effect on the retention of the metal ions have been studied. The optimum pH for the sorption of above mentioned metal ions were about 6, 8, 8 and 6, respectively. The loading capacity of adsorbent for Co(II) and Mn(II) were found to be 29 and 22 μmol g−1, respectively. The recoveries of Fe(III), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr(III), under the optimum conditions were found to be 99 ± 3, 99 ± 2, 98 ± 3 and 98 ± 3%, respectively, at the 95% confidence level. The limit of detection was 3.6, 3.0, 2.8 and 3.6 ng ml−1 for Fe(III), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr (III), respectively, by applying a preconcentration factor of 25. The proposed enrichment method was applied for metal ion determination from water samples, alloy samples, infant foods and certified samples such as whey powder (IAEA-155) and aluminum alloy (NBS SRM 85b). The analytes were determined with a relative error lower than 10% in all samples.  相似文献

A poly[styrene-co-(divinylbenzene)] resin (XAD-4) functionalized with 1-hydrazinophthalazine ligand has been prepared and its analytical properties investigated. The pH dependence of sorption of metal ion on the resin has been determined for Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Pb(II), Fe(III) and Cr(III). Trace amounts of these metal ions were quantitatively retained on the resin and recovered by eluting with 1 mol l(-1) hydrochloric acid. The resin was found to be selective for Fe(III) and its separation from other metal ions was carried out effectively. Metal ions concentrations were determined using AAS.  相似文献
