磷化铟(InP)属于Ⅲ-Ⅴ族化合物半导体材料, 在毫米波的应用中展示出了高性能,在非线性太赫兹器件应用上具有很大的潜力。以前关于InP的研究主要集中于太赫兹频率在0.1~4 THz的频率范围内,在4~10 THz频率范围内InP的太赫兹光学数据还是空白。该研究利用空气等离子体相干探测太赫兹波的时域光谱系统研究了无掺杂的InP晶片在超宽THz频率范围(0.5~18 THz)内的光学特性, 实验中用电离的空气作为太赫兹的发射器和探测器, 利用可以调制的局部偏压诱导二次谐波产生,使在气体中太赫兹波的相干探测成为可能,明显提高了系统的动态范围和灵敏度。产生的太赫兹频谱宽度主要被激光脉冲持续时间所限制,太赫兹脉冲通过InP晶片后相对于参考脉冲会延迟,同时振幅会降低。另外,太赫兹信号的频谱振幅在6.7~12.1 THz范围内下降到本底噪声。同时还可以看出InP晶片在6.7~12.1 THz频率范围内不透光,在0.8~6.7 THz以及12.1~18 THz频率范围内InP的吸收系数相对较低,特别是在15~17.5 THz范围内吸收系数很低并且保持相对稳定,与此同时它的折射率单调增加。这些发现将有助于基于InP晶片的非线性太赫兹器件设计。  相似文献

石墨烯是单原子厚的二维狄拉克相对论费米子系统,其优秀的光电学性质得到了广泛的关注和研究. 本论文利用量子理论研究掺杂石墨烯系统外电场和光场共同作用下的非平衡载流子的非线性太赫兹光学性质. 研究发现,掺杂石墨烯带内光吸收表现出强的非线性太赫兹光学特性. 随着外加偏压电场的增大,石墨烯非线性光学响应增强;随着外界太赫兹光频率的减小,非线特性增强. 研究表明通过改变电场强度,可以有效调节石墨烯系统太赫兹非线性光学特性. 研究结果为探索和发展以石墨烯为基础的新型纳米太赫兹光电器件的研究和实际应用提供了理论依据. 关键词: 石墨烯 太赫兹 非线性 光电流  相似文献

Cyclotron harmonic interactions are a key physics issue of critical importance to the generation of terahertz radiation via the electron cyclotron maser instability for practical magnetic field strengths. We present an inherent mechanism, as well as a deciding factor, which governs the competition between low- and high-harmonic interactions. Multimode simulations reveal the physical process in which a significant advantage develops for the lower-harmonic interaction, which eventually dominates in the fully nonlinear stage. The results also suggest a start-up scenario for persistent higher-harmonic operation.  相似文献

We consider the nonlinear terahertz emission by the system of cavity polaritons in the regime of polariton lasing. To account for the quantum nature of terahertz-polariton coupling, we use the Lindblad master equation approach and demonstrate that quantum microcavities reveal a rich variety of nonlinear phenomena in the terahertz range, including bistability, short terahertz pulse generation, and terahertz switching.  相似文献

We present the results of theoretical studies of the process of generation of terahertz radiation arising via interaction of few-cycle laser pulses propagating in an isotropic nonlinear medium. Numerical time-integration, by the finite-difference method, of the system of nonlinear Maxwell equations has been performed. We consider the interaction of mutually-orthogonal linearly polarized pulses, both having the central wavelength of 1.98 μm, durations of 30 fs, and the energies of 30 nJ, propagating along the normal to the 〈110〉 plane in a 1 mm-thickness GaAs crystal. In the nonlinear part of the medium polarization the without-inertia nonlinear second-order susceptibility is taken into account. The process of formation of a terahertz pulse arising via spectral filtration of supercontinuum formed in the spectra of pump pulses at the output of nonlinear crystal is studied. The dependences of both the current frequency of the pump pulses on time for different lengths of nonlinear crystal and of pump pulse durations on the crystal length are obtained. Also the dependences of the current frequency of the terahertz pulse on time at different crystal lengths, as well as of the efficiency of generation of terahertz radiation on the length of nonlinear crystal and on the energy of pump pulses are obtained.  相似文献

We present the use of novel nonlinear imaging, terahertz time-domain spectroscopy and imaging as powerful diagnostic tools for studies of works of art. It is shown that nonlinear imaging offers precise in-depth information, while terahertz imaging can reveal hidden objects and uncover information on highly absorbing organic compounds whose visualization is difficult in other parts of the spectrum.  相似文献

We performed computational terahertz studies on organometallic photoisomerisable compounds, employing both gas phase and solid phase calculations. The calculations demonstrate the potential of employing terahertz techniques on photoisomerisable compounds. In particular, the trans-ligand, counterion and crystal effects are evaluated via the density functional theory calculations. In order to fully understand the terahertz responses of the photoisomerisable compounds, their experimental terahertz spectra were obtained and compared to the calculations. The calculated spectra generally predict the experimentally observed absorption peaks, while combined gas phase and solid phase calculations offer better agreement with the experiments. The first principles calculations also reveal the sensitivity of terahertz signal on the photoisomerisation processes, suggesting a photo-terahertz set-up that could be built in the future to fast screen and fully understand the photoisomerisable compounds, for related applications such as photo-transducer and photo-switch that require photoinduced geometrical changes.  相似文献

特征提取对于太赫兹光谱识别来说至关重要。传统方法是通过人工选取太赫兹光谱中差异性较大的吸收峰作为特征进行光谱识别,但当部分物质在太赫兹波段没有明显波峰、波谷等光谱图形特征时,这种方式便不再适用。为此,研究人员利用统计学习与机器学习方法对高维太赫兹光谱数据进行降维和特征提取。由于物质的太赫兹光谱数据各维度呈现非线性,尤其是当不同物质的太赫兹光谱曲线整体非常相似时,线性处理方法易产生较大误差。针对这一问题,提出了一种基于扩散映射(DM)的太赫兹光谱识别方法。扩散映射能在保持数据内在几何结构的同时对其进行非线性降维,提取的流形特征区分度较高,对数据还有聚类效果。首先用S-G滤波器对Alloxazine等10种物质的太赫兹光谱样本进行滤波,并用三次样条插值法对截取相同频段后的光谱样本进行统一分辨率处理;然后利用DM将高维太赫兹光谱数据映射到低维特征空间并提取太赫兹光谱的流形特征;最后用多分类支持向量机(M-SVM)对十种物质的太赫兹透射光谱进行分类。实验结果表明,相比于主成分分析(PCA)和等距映射(ISOMAP),使用DM提取的太赫兹光谱流形特征具有更高的区分度,而且DM可以直接得到太赫兹光谱数据本征维数的估计值,这为相似太赫兹光谱的快速精准识别提供了一条新的途径。  相似文献

The electro-optical detection of terahertz radiation is analyzed theoretically. While a conventional detection scheme of this type is based on the measurement of the phase shift of an optical pulse arising from its interaction with the terahertz field in a nonlinear medium, it is shown that both the phase and amplitude of the optical pulse vary because of this interaction. The amplitude modulation carries information on the dynamics of the amplitude and phase of the terahertz field and can be used to measure these parameters. With this energy-sensitive detection scheme, avoiding all restrictions on the symmetry type of the nonlinear medium is much simpler than with the phase scheme. Variants of the electro-optical detection technique using periodically poled crystals with the lithium-niobate symmetry and crystals with the zincblende structure are considered. It is shown that spectral sensitivities of the methods based on measurements of the phase and amplitude modulations are related as the frequencies of the laser and terahertz fields.  相似文献

在众多实现太赫兹辐射的方法中, 非线性光学共线差频能够实现高功率、宽波段、连续可调谐的太赫兹波辐射. 理论分析表明, 各向同性磷化镓晶体, 在1064 nm附近波长激光共线差频下具有毫米量级的相干长度, 能够满足高功率宽波段的太赫兹辐射条件.实验证明, 磷化镓晶体共线差频实现高功率宽波段的太赫兹光辐射, 其太赫兹光波长调谐范围为95.9–773.4 μm (0.39–3.13 THz), 最高峰值功率7 W位于频率2.0 THz处.该实验结果与理论计算基本保持一致. 关键词: 太赫兹源 磷化镓 共线差频  相似文献

Generation of terahertz pulses via mixing the Fourier harmonics of strongly focused near-IR pumping laser pulses in a plasmon waveguide filled with a nonlinear medium is considered. At a certain choice of its parameters, this waveguide provides efficient transverse confinement of the terahertz mode and a low dispersion of its refractive index. As a result, the system becomes capable of generating short fairly intense terahertz pulses. Such an approach significantly (by a factor of 50) decreases the pump power compared with that in the conventional (waveguide-free) schemes, which generate terahertz pulses from single pumping pulses (optical rectification), and still yields the same intensity of the output terahertz pulse and conversion efficiency. For the Ag-GaP-Ag structure taken as an example, optimal parameters of the plasmon waveguide and pumping pulse are found and characteristics of the output terahertz pulse are calculated.  相似文献

We report the application of electric-field-induced optical second-harmonic generation as a new technique for measuring the field of freely propagating terahertz radiation. Using silicon as the nonlinear medium, we demonstrate subpicosecond time resolution and a sampling signal that varies linearly with the terahertz electric field. This approach, which is attractive for centrosymmetric media, permits a significantly broadened class of materials to be exploited for free-space sampling measurements.  相似文献

We propose a coupled microdisk laser as a compact and tunable laser source for the generation of a coherent continuous-wave terahertz radiation by photomixing. Using the Schr?dinger-Bloch model including the nonlinear effect of active medium, we find single-mode and two-mode lasings depending on the pumping strength. We explain the transitions of lasing modes in terms of resonant modes that are the solutions of the Schr?dinger-Bloch model without active medium and nonlinear interaction. In particular, a two-mode lasing is shown to generate a terahertz oscillating frequency originating from the light beating of two nearly degenerated resonant modes with different symmetries.  相似文献

We present the results on generating terahertz radiation in the plasma of an optical discharge arising in the atmosphere during the focusing of femtosecond laser radiation. Different generation schemes related to focusing of the optical radiation by spherical and axicon lenses, with a constant electric field imposed on the laser spark region, as well as with the use of bichromatic laser radiation, are studied. Directivity patterns and polarization distributions of the terahertz radiation are analyzed in detail for different generation techniques. Comparison with the experimental results obtained by other research groups is given. Possible nonlinear mechanisms of the terahertz radiation generation are discussed.  相似文献

The possibilities of a recently proposed (Opt. Express 17, 9323 (2009)) method for generating terahertz surface plasmons on a microstructured (comb-shaped) metal surface using a nonlinear polarization pulse that moves with a superluminal velocity and is induced by an ultrashort laser pulse in a strip of electrooptic material deposited on the surface are theoretically studied. For an arbitrary direction of motion of the nonlinear source along the comb-shaped surface, fields of excited terahertz plasmons and the angular spectral distribution of the radiated energy are calculated. It is shown that the spectral and energy characteristics of plasmons can be efficiently controlled by varying the direction of motion of the source. Conditions (parameters of the comb-shaped structure, direction and velocity of motion of the source) that ensure the maximal efficiency of the optical-to-terahertz conversion are found. The developed method of terahertz generation is promising for surface terahertz spectroscopy.  相似文献

Optical absorption is investigated for asymmetric double quantum wells driven by a resonant terahertz field and a varied terahertz field both polarized along the growth direction. Rich nonlinear dynamics of the replica peak and the Autler-Townes splitting of various dressed states are systematically studied in undoped asymmetric double quantum wells by taking account of multiple factors, such as the frequency of the varied terahertz field and the strength of the resonant terahertz field. Each electron subband splits into two dressed states when the resonant terahertz field is applied in the absence of the varied terahertz field, the optical absorption spectrum shows the first order Autler-Townes splitting of the electron subbands. When a varied terahertz field is added into the resonant system, the replica peak and the second order Autler-Townes splitting of the dressed states near the band edge respectively emerge when the varied terahertz field is non-resonant and resonant with these dressed states. When the strength of the resonant terahertz field is increased, the first order Autler-Townes double peaks and the replica peak in the optical absorption spectrum shift with the shifts of the dressed states. The presented results have potential applications in electro-optical devices.  相似文献

太赫兹技术在最近30年来得到快速发展, 并在医学、生物、农业、材料、安检、通信、天文等领域得到广泛应用. 从太赫兹源的频谱特性可以分为窄带(单频)太赫兹源和宽带太赫兹源. 从频谱技术方面来说, 相干的宽带和窄带太赫兹谱是一种互补性关系, 具有各自的技术特点和应用范围. 宽带太赫兹谱可以用于快速获取较宽频谱范围的分子振转谱, 实现混合特征谱的快速检测或成像. 窄带太赫兹源具有很好的光谱灵敏度和分辨率, 适用于太赫兹抽运-探测、分子振转能级谱精细结构分辨 以及太赫兹远程探测和成像. 因此研制具有可调谐的高峰值功率的窄带太赫兹源是适用于探测和识别分子振转能级指纹谱的应用需求, 而差频技术是获得高功率和宽调谐窄带太赫兹源最重要的技术之一. 为了突出该技术的最新进展, 本综述引证论文仅仅限于近5 年来基于差频技术产生太赫兹波的研究进展, 分为光学激光差频源和量子级联激光器差频源两大部分. 对于光学激光差频源, 分别对目前文献报道的各种双波长差频源和太赫兹产生用的非线性晶体进行分类介绍, 并给出所采用的技术和实验结果; 对于量子级联激光器差频源, 分别介绍了量子级联激光器中的差频产生技术和波长调谐技术的最新进展. 量子级联激光器差频太赫兹源是目前实现量子级联激光器在太赫兹波段室温运转的惟一技术, 是实现小型化、窄带宽调谐和室温运转太赫兹源的新发展领域, 值得关注.  相似文献

A theory is developed for calculating the spectrum and the shape of a terahertz wave packet from the temporal profile of the energy of the second harmonic of the laser field generated during nonlinear interaction of laser and terahertz pulses in an optical-breakdown plasma. The spectral and temporal characteristics of the second-harmonic envelope and a terahertz pulse are shown to coincide only for short laser pulses. For long laser pulses, the second-harmonic spectral line shifts to the red and its temporal profile is determined by the time integral of the electric field of terahertz radiation.  相似文献
