The middle-parametric representation of fuzzy numbers and applications to fuzzy interpolation

In this paper we introduce the middle-parametric representation of a fuzzy number presenting some of the advantages in the use of this representation. A special attention is focused on the subset of symmetric fuzzy numbers presenting the special properties of their arithmetic. The approach on symmetric fuzzy numbers is sustained by the applications of these kinds of fuzzy numbers in fuzzy linear programming and by the presence of the symmetric Gaussian type fuzzy numbers in the theory of errors. As potential applications of the middle-parametric representation, some fuzzy interpolation problems are considered.

The possibilistic moments of fuzzy numbers and their applications

This paper, introduces the nearest weighted interval and point approximations of a fuzzy number, and then suggests weighted possibilistic moments about these points of fuzzy numbers. The possibilistic moments play an important role in fuzzy sets and systems, specifically in physics, mathematics and statistics. We provide the definition of the moments of fuzzy numbers as well as the definition of moments in probability theory; some of their applications are mentioned.     

Numerical simulation based on fuzzy stochastic analysis

In this paper mathematical methods for fuzzy stochastic analysis in engineering applications are presented. Fuzzy stochastic analysis maps uncertain input data in the form of fuzzy random variables onto fuzzy random result variables. The operator of the mapping can be any desired deterministic algorithm, e.g. the dynamic analysis of structures. Two different approaches for processing the fuzzy random input data are discussed. For these purposes two types of fuzzy probability distribution functions for describing fuzzy random variables are introduced. On the basis of these two types of fuzzy probability distribution functions two appropriate algorithms for fuzzy stochastic analysis are developed. Both algorithms are demonstrated and compared by way of an example.

定义了幂模糊数和幂模糊数方程,基于结构元方法研究了幂模糊数运算和幂模糊数方程的求解,给出了隶属函数的表达式.同时,利用区间[-1,1]上的单调函数将二次模糊方程的求解问题转化为经典参数方程组的求解问题,给出了二次模糊方程解存在的充要条件,并辅以数值例子.     

Fuzzy real algebra: Some results

In this paper, the possibility to perform easily most of the extended n-ary operations on fuzzy subsets of the real line is shown. A general algorithm is given. These results are particularized for usual operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ‘max’ and ‘min’ operations for normalized convex fuzzy subsets of the real line, i.e. fuzzy numbers. A three parameters representation for fuzzy numbers is shown to be very convenient to perform usual operations. Lastly, interpretative comments about fuzzy real algebra are given and possible applications pointed out.     

Maximum cut in fuzzy nature: Models and algorithms

The maximum cut (Max-Cut) problem has extensive applications in various real-world fields, such as network design and statistical physics. In this paper, a more practical version, the Max-Cut problem with fuzzy coefficients, is discussed. Specifically, based on credibility theory, the Max-Cut problem with fuzzy coefficients is formulated as an expected value model, a chance-constrained programming model and a dependent-chance programming model respectively according to different decision criteria. When these fuzzy coefficients are represented by special fuzzy variables like triangular fuzzy numbers and trapezoidal fuzzy numbers, the crisp equivalents of the fuzzy Max-Cut problem can be obtained. Finally, a genetic algorithm combined with fuzzy simulation techniques is designed for the general fuzzy Max-Cut problem under these models and numerical experiment confirms the effectiveness of the designed genetic algorithm.     

The fuzzy intersection rule in variational analysis with applications

The fuzzy intersection rule for Fréchet normal cones in Asplund spaces was established by Mordukhovich and the author using the extremal principle, which appears more convenient to apply in some applications. In this paper, we present a complete discussion of this rule in various aspects. We show that the fuzzy intersection rule is another characterization of the Asplund property of the space. Various applications are considered as well. In particular, a complete set of fuzzy calculus rules for general lower semicontinuous functions are established.     

A type of fuzzy ring

In this study, by the use of Yuan and Lee’s definition of the fuzzy group based on fuzzy binary operation we give a new kind of fuzzy ring. The concept of fuzzy subring, fuzzy ideal and fuzzy ring homomorphism are introduced, and we make a theoretical study their basic properties analogous to those of ordinary rings.

对于 AHP中一类判断为模糊、不确定性问题 ,用随机变量和模糊区间描述其判断 ,采用 0 .1～ 0 .9标度 ,建立模糊互补判断矩阵 ,利用数学变换得到模糊一致性判断矩阵 ,给出排序向量算法及公式 ,便于实际应用     

Groups operating on fuzzy sets

In crisp environment the notions of normal subgroup and group operating on a set are well known due to many applications. In this paper we study extensions of these classical notions to the larger universe of fuzzy sets. We obtain a characterization of operations of a fuzzy group on a fuzzy set in terms of homomorphisms of crisp groups.

利用模糊补定义了直觉模糊集的广义补集,并讨论了直觉模糊集广义补集的一些性质。在此基础上,给出了直觉模糊集广义模糊熵的公理化定义及几个直觉模糊集广义模糊熵的具体计算公式。此外,本文还研究了直觉模糊集的广义模糊熵与相似性测度之间的关系。     

Examples of fuzzy metrics and applications

In this paper we present new examples of fuzzy metrics in the sense of George and Veeramani. The examples have been classified attending to their construction and most of the well-known fuzzy metrics are particular cases of those given here. In particular, novel fuzzy metrics, by means of fuzzy and classical metrics and certain special types of functions, are introduced. We also give an extension theorem for two fuzzy metrics that agree in its nonempty intersection. Finally, we give an application of this type of fuzzy metrics to color image processing. We propose a fuzzy metric that simultaneously takes into account two different distance criteria between color image pixels and we use this fuzzy metric to filter noisy images, obtaining promising results. This application is also illustrative of how fuzzy metrics can be used in other engineering problems.     

Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process: A logarithmic fuzzy preference programming methodology

Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) proves to be a very useful methodology for multiple criteria decision-making in fuzzy environments, which has found substantial applications in recent years. The vast majority of the applications use a crisp point estimate method such as the extent analysis or the fuzzy preference programming (FPP) based nonlinear method for fuzzy AHP priority derivation. The extent analysis has been revealed to be invalid and the weights derived by this method do not represent the relative importance of decision criteria or alternatives. The FPP-based nonlinear priority method also turns out to be subject to significant drawbacks, one of which is that it may produce multiple, even conflict priority vectors for a fuzzy pairwise comparison matrix, leading to entirely different conclusions. To address these drawbacks and provide a valid yet practical priority method for fuzzy AHP, this paper proposes a logarithmic fuzzy preference programming (LFPP) based methodology for fuzzy AHP priority derivation, which formulates the priorities of a fuzzy pairwise comparison matrix as a logarithmic nonlinear programming and derives crisp priorities from fuzzy pairwise comparison matrices. Numerical examples are tested to show the advantages of the proposed methodology and its potential applications in fuzzy AHP decision-making.     

Fuzzy Ideals and Fuzzy Distributive Lattices

Our main objective is to study properties of a fuzzy ideals(fuzzy dual ideals).A study of special types of fuzzy ideals(fuzzy dual ideals) is also furnished.Some properties of a fuzzy ideals(fuzzy dual ideals) are furnished.Properties of a fuzzy lattice homomorphism are discussed.Fuzzy ideal lattice of a fuzzy lattice is defined and discussed.Some results in fuzzy distributive lattice are proved.
