当周期激励频率远小于系统固有频率时,会存在快慢耦合效应,与单项激励不同,参外联合激励不仅会导致快子系统平衡曲线和分岔行为的复杂化,也会产生一些特殊的非线性现象,为此,本文以两耦合Hodgkin-Huxley细胞模型为例,引入周期参外联合激励,探讨在频域不同尺度耦合时该系统的簇发振荡的特点及其分岔机制.通过建立相应的快慢子系统,得到慢变参数变化下的快子系统的各种分岔模式以及相应的分岔行为,结合转换相图,揭示耦合系统随激励幅值变化时的动力学行为及其机理.研究表明,在激励幅值较小时,系统表现为概周期振荡,两频率分别近似于快子系统平衡曲线由Hopf分岔引起的两稳定极限环的振荡频率.概周期解随激励幅值的增加进入簇发振荡,导致这些簇发振荡的主要原因是在慢变参数变化的部分区间内,存在唯一稳定的平衡曲线,使得系统的轨迹逐渐趋向该平衡曲线,产生沉寂态,并随着慢变参数的变化,由分岔进入激发态.同时,快子系统中参与簇发振荡的稳定吸引子随激励幅值的变化也会不同,导致不同形式的簇发振荡.另外,与单项激励下的情形不同,联合激励时快子系统的部分稳定吸引子掩埋在其它稳定吸引子内,从而失去对簇发振荡的影响.  相似文献

I compare application of the method of multiple scales with reconstitution and the generalized method of averaging for determining higher-order approximations of three single-degree-of-freedom systems and a two-degree-of-freedom system. Three implementations of the method of multiple scales are considered, namely, application of the method to the system equations expressed as second-order equations, as first-order equations, and in complex-variable form. I show that all of these methods produce the same modulation equations.I address the problem of determining higher-order approximate solutions of the Duffing equation in the case of primary resonance. I show that the conclusions of Rahman and Burton that the method of multiple scales, the generalized method of averaging, and Lie series and transforms might lead to incorrect results, in that spurious solutions occur and the obtained frequency–response curves bear little resemblance to the actual response, is the result of their using parameter values for which the neglected terms are the same order as the retained terms. I show also that spurious solutions cannot be avoided, in general, in any consistent expansion and their presence does not constitute a limitation of the methods. In particular, I show that, for the Duffing equation, the second-order frequency–response equation does not possess spurious solutions for the case of hardening nonlinearity, but possesses spurious solutions for the case of softening nonlinearity. For sufficiently small nonlinearity, the spurious solutions are far removed from the actual response. But as the strength of the nonlinearity increases, these solutions move closer to the backbone and eventually distort it. This is not a drawback of the perturbation methods but an indication of an application of the analysis for parameter values outside the range of validity of the expansion.Also, I address the problem of obtaining non-Hamiltonian modulation equations in the application of the method of multiple scales to multi-degree-of-freedom Hamiltonian systems written as second-order equations in time and how this problem can be overcome by attacking the state-space form of the governing equations. Moreover, I show that application of a variation of the method of Rahman and Burton to multi-degree-of-freedom systems leads to results that do not agree with those obtained with the generalized method of averaging.Contributed by Prof. R.A. Parametric vibrations and stability of an axially accelerating string guided by a non-linear elastic foundation are studied analytically. The axial speed, as the source of parametric vibrations, is assumed to involve a mean speed, along with small harmonic variations. The method of multiple scales is applied to the governing non-linear equation of motion and then the natural frequencies and mode shape equations of the system are derived using the equation of order one, and satisfying the compatibility conditions. Using the equation of order epsilon, the solvability conditions are obtained for three distinct cases of axial acceleration frequency. For all cases, the stability areas of system are constructed analytically. Finally, some numerical simulations are presented to highlight the effects of system parameters on vibration, natural frequencies, frequency-response curves, stability, and bifurcation points of the system.  相似文献

The behavior of the escape driven oscillator at the 2T-periodic subharmonic resonance is considered, and the mechanism of generating different fractal patterns of the basins of attraction of coexisting attractors, as well as its effects on the unpredictable asymptotic system behaviors, are the main points of interest. The analysis is based on the numerical study of the sudden qualitative changes of the structure of basin-phase portraits, the changes implied by multi global bifurcations. Attention is focused on two qualitatively different regions of control space: the region prior to the subcritical flip bifurcation, where all three attractors (2T-periodic, T-periodic and the attractor at infinity) coexist, and the region after the bifurcation, where only two attractors (2T-periodic and the attractor at infinity) coexist. In particular, the concept of the global (homoclinic and heteroclinic) bifurcations is extended to the latter region, where the arising flip saddle (instead of the direct saddle) is involved in the events. The possible forms of unpredictable outcomes, which arise in both regions of control parameters, are pointed out.  相似文献
