We introduce and study the class of mean2-bounded operators on Hilbert space. These operators, which are characterized by a uniform boundedness condition on the 'quadratic averages' of their powers, are intimately related to operator-valued weight sequences and weighted norm inequalities. Mean2-bounded operators exhibit a lively interplay with the discrete Hilbert transform in an array of settings. Under appropriate circumstances, mean2-bounded operators have a rich spectral theory leading to powerful transference properties.  相似文献

A basic and substantial theorem of one-dimensional systems theory, due to R. Kalman, says that an arbitrary input/output behavior with proper transfer matrix admits an observable state representation which, in particular, is a realization of the transfer matrix. The state equations have the characteristic property that any local, better temporal, state at time zero and any input give rise to a unique global state or trajectory of the system or, in other terms, that the global state is the unique solution of a suitable Cauchy problem. With an adaption of this state property to the multidimensional situation or rather its algebraic counter-part we prove that any behavior governed by a linear system of partial differential or difference equations with constant coefficients is isomorphic to a canonical state behavior which is constructed by means of Gröbner bases. In contrast to the one-dimensional situation, to J.C. Willems’ multidimensional state space models and and to J.F. Pommaret’s modified Spencer form the canonical state behavior is not necessarily a first order system. Further first order models are due E. Zerz. As a by-product of the state space construction we derive a new variant of the algorithms for the computation of the Hilbert function of finitely generated polynomial modules or behaviors. J.F. Pommaret, J. Wood and P. Rocha discussed the Hilbert polynomial in the systems theoretic context. The theorems of this paper are constructive and have been implemented in MAPLE in the two-dimensional case and demonstrated in a simple, but instructive example. A two-page example also gives the complete proof of Kalman’s one-dimensional theorem mentioned above. We believe that for this standard case the algorithms of the present paper compare well with their various competitors from the literature.  相似文献

Let I be a split radical ideal of a ring R. In this article, the exact sequence 1 → K 2(R, I) → U R (I) → V(R, I) → 1 is given by using the method of extension of groups, where U R (I) is determined by generators and relations. We provide two families of lower bounds for theL 2-Wasserstein metric in separable Hilbert spaces which depend on the basis chosen for the space. Then we focus on one of these families and we provide a necessary and sufficient condition for the supremum in it to be attained. Area integral functions are introduced for sectorial operators on Hilbert spaces. We establish the equivalence relationship between the square and area integral functions. This immediately extends McIntosh/Yagi's results on H functional calculus of sectorial operators on Hilbert spaces to the case when the square functions are replaced by the area integral functions.  相似文献

The paper discusses some equivalent ways of construction of infinite-dimensional homotopic groups of subsets and pairs of subsets in real Hilbert spaces. In the admissible class of K 0-continuous mappings, the homotopic invariance of the mentioned groups and their isomorphism are demonstrated in the case where the basic points belong to the same component of K 0-linear connectivity.  相似文献

Hilbert(ian) A-modules over finite von Neumann algebras with a faithful normal trace state (from global analysis) and Hilbert W*-modules over A (from operator algebra theory) are compared and a categorical equivalence is established. The correspondence between these two structures sheds new light on basic results in L 2-invariant theory providing alternative proofs. We indicate new invariants for finitely generated projective B-modules, where B is a unital C*-algebra (usually the full group C*-algebra C*() of the fundamental group =1(M) of a manifold M).  相似文献

Let S be a closed symmetric operator with defect numbers (1,1) in a Hilbert space ?? and let A be a selfadjoint operator extension of S in ??. Then S is necessarily a graph restriction of A and the selfadjoint extensions of S can be considered as graph perturbations of A, cf. [8]. Only when S is not densely defined and, in particular, when S is bounded, 5 is given by a domain restriction of A and the graph perturbations reduce to rank one perturbations in the sense of [23]. This happens precisely when the Q - function of S and A belongs to the subclass No of Nevanlinna functions. In this paper we show that by going beyond the Hilbert space ?? the graph perturbations can be interpreted as compressions of rank one perturbations. We present two points of view: either the Hilbert space ?? is given a one-dimensional extension, or the use of Hilbert space triplets associated with A is invoked. If the Q - function of S and A belongs to the subclass N1 of Nevanlinna functions, then it is convenient to describe the selfadjoint extensions of S including its generalized Friedrichs extension (see [6]) by interpolating the original triplet, cf. [5]. For the case when A is semibounded, see also [4]. We prove some invariance properties, which imply that such an interpolation is independent of the (nonexceptional) extension.  相似文献

On the basis of the concept of the interval valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets introduced by K. Atanassov, the notion of interval valued intuitionistic fuzzy Hv-submodules of an Hv-module with respect to a t-norm T and an s-norm S is given and the characteristic properties are described. The homomorphic image and the inverse image are investigated. In particular, the connections between interval valued intuitionistic (S, T)-fuzzy Hv-submodules and interval valued intuitionistic (S, T)-fuzzy submodules are discussed.  相似文献

Let f be a primitive Hilbert modular cusp form of arbitrary level and parallel weight k, defined over a totally real number field F. We define a finite set of primes that depends on the weight and level of f, the field F, and the torsion in the boundary cohomology groups of the Borel–Serre compactification of the underlying Hilbert-Blumenthal variety. We show that, outside , any prime that divides the algebraic part of the value at s=1 of the adjoint L-function of f is a congruence prime for f. In special cases we identify the boundary primes in terms of expressions of the form , where is a totally positive unit of F.  相似文献

We study the worst case setting for approximation of d variate functions from a general reproducing kernel Hilbert space with the error measured in the L norm. We mainly consider algorithms that use n arbitrary continuous linear functionals. We look for algorithms with the minimal worst case errors and for their rates of convergence as n goes to infinity. Algorithms using n function values will be analyzed in a forthcoming paper.We show that the L approximation problem in the worst case setting is related to the weighted L2 approximation problem in the average case setting with respect to a zero-mean Gaussian stochastic process whose covariance function is the same as the reproducing kernel of the Hilbert space. This relation enables us to find optimal algorithms and their rates of convergence for the weighted Korobov space with an arbitrary smoothness parameter α>1, and for the weighted Sobolev space whose reproducing kernel corresponds to the Wiener sheet measure. The optimal convergence rates are n-(α-1)/2 and n-1/2, respectively.We also study tractability of L approximation for the absolute and normalized error criteria, i.e., how the minimal worst case errors depend on the number of variables, d, especially when d is arbitrarily large. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions on tractability of L approximation in terms of tractability conditions of the weighted L2 approximation in the average case setting. In particular, tractability holds in weighted Korobov and Sobolev spaces only for weights tending sufficiently fast to zero and does not hold for the classical unweighted spaces.  相似文献

Let M be a projective manifold, p: M G M a regular covering over M with a free Abelian transformation group G. We describe the holomorphic functions on M G of an exponential growth with respect to the distance defined by a metric pulled back from M. As a corollary, we obtain Cartwright and Liouville-type theorems for such functions. Our approach brings together the L 2 cohomology technique for holomorphic vector bundles on complete Kähler manifolds and the geometric properties of projective manifolds.  相似文献

A ladder-shaped array is a subset of a rectangular array which looks like a Ferrers diagram corresponding to a partition of a positive integer. The ideals generated by the p-by-p minors of a ladder-type array of indeterminates in the corresponding polynomial ring have been shown to be hilbertian (i.e., their Hilbert functions coincide with Hilbert polynomials for all nonnegative integers) by Abhyankar and Kulkarni [3, p 53–76]. We exhibit here an explicit expression for the Hilbert polynomial of the ideal generated by the two-by-two minors of a ladder-type array of indeterminates in the corresponding polynomial ring. Counting the number of paths in the corresponding rectangular array having a fixed number of turning points above the path corresponding to the ladder is an essential ingredient of the combinatorial construction of the Hilbert polynomial. This gives a constructive proof of the hilbertianness of the ideal generated by the two-by-two minors of a ladder-type array of indeterminates.  相似文献
