The author reports that TEA-CO2 with an intra-cavity etalon is a useful pumping source which can deliver widely tunable beam (tunable range 1 GHz) with accurate oscillation frequencies and with high power compared to a tunable wave guide laser.The source is applied to the excitations of CH3OH and the FIR emissions from it are well assigned for there absorption transitions and FIR emissions. This proves that the source display not only usefulness for development of new FIR emissions but also for molecular spectroscopy. 相似文献

An industrial TEA-CO2 laser, operating at a wavelength of 10.6 μm, has been used to produced broadband ultrasonic pulses in polymers. The generation mechanism falls into three categories. At low power densities ≤ 107 W cm−2 a thermoelastic regime predominates. As the power density is increased in the range (1–5) × 107 W cm−2 ablation of the material surface plays an increasingly important role in the acoustic generation. Thirdly, at greater power densities, plasma breakdown just above the material surface serves as the means of generation. This paper describes the acoustic sources for these types of generation mechanism and presents theoretically calculated acoustic waveforms to match those recorded experimentally. 相似文献

The fracture mechanisms of Hg0.8Cd0.2Te induced by pulsed TEA-CO2 laser have been investigated theoretically and experimentally in this paper. The Hg0.8Cd0.2Te target was irradiated by a TEA-CO2 laser with wavelength of 10.6 μm and spike width of 240 ns in an ambient atmosphere. The evident cracks can be found on the surface of the target from the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) photos, indicating that the severe breaks happened during the experiment. Theoretical analysis has also been carried out and the results show that the fracture of Hg0.8Cd0.2Te is mainly induced by thermal stresses, although there are three forces (thermal stress, evaporation wave and laser-supported detonation (LSD) wave) exerted on the target surface during the process. 相似文献

Using a pre-ionization system based on a silicon carbide compound and a pulse-forming network using a vacuum relay, we have been able to significantly reduce TEA0-CO2 laser complexity while maintaining high output energy densities. In this paper, infrared (IR) and far-infrared (FIR) laser emissions from a TE CO2 laser pumped NH3 gas are reported. 8 IR laser emissions near the wavelength of 12 μm were observed by using 4 different CO2 laser lines for the pumping. 3 IR laser emissions in P-branch of vibrational-rotational band (ν2 → G) oscillated simultaneously in two pumping cases, i.e. pumping with the R(30) or R(16) line of 9.4 μm band from the CO2 laser. 26 FIR laser emissions (26.45 μm ~ 281.0 μm) were observed by using 12 different CO2 laser lines, and the 10 FIR emissions of them may be new laser emissions as far as we know. 相似文献

A D2O laser has been developed for collective Thomson scattering measurements of ion temperature in high temperature plasmas. 利用TEA-CO2激光对碲铬汞(HgCdTe)图像传感器的干扰和损伤现象进行了实验研究,分析了干扰和损伤机理。探测器上激光能量密度小于255 mJ/cm2时,饱和像素仅出现在光斑区域,激光能量密度为425.8 mJ/cm2时,像素被损伤,观察到了弥散斑和暗环等现象。建立了探测器的激光辐照模型,计算了探测器的温升,讨论了温升与载流子浓度、迁移率的关系。分析认为,弥散斑的出现是探测器升温产生的热激发载流子浓度扩散所致,暗环的出现是迁移率与载流子浓度扩散共同作用的结果,像素的损伤则是因为温升导致汞的析出。 相似文献

Lidar is an efficient tool for remotely measuring physical quantities or detecting targets. To improve the range resolution in long pulse lidars, such as lidar systems based on TEA-CO2 lasers, deconvolution methods were used by previous investigators. Deconvolution is a noise sensitive process. In order to avoid noise amplification during the deconvolution process, the Fourier-wavelet regularized deconvolution method is used to deconvolve and denoise the back-scattered lidar signal simultaneously. This method is applied to lidar systems based on the TEA-CO2 laser and the results are compared to nitrogen tail clipping method. Numerical simulation shows, in comparison to the clipping nitrogen tail technique, by using the ForWaRD method; the range resolution and working distance of the lidar is improved and the clipping tail apparatus is also eliminated. 相似文献

A grating-tunable TEA-CO2 laser with an unstable resonator cavity, modified to allow injection of cw CO2 laser radiation at the resonant transition line by means of an intracavity NaCl window, has been used to study the coupling requirements for generation of single frequency pulses. The width and shape of the mode selection region, and the dependence of the gain-switched spike buildup time and the pulse shapes on the intensity and detuning frequency of the injected radiation are reported. A 13C16O2 laser optically pumping a FIR laser has resulted in 17 new FIR cw emissions from 78.5 μm to 917 μm. The FIR media were: CD3OD, CH3OD, CD3OH, NH3 and 15NH3. Interesting effects have been observed with a combination of NH3 and CD3OD resulting in a new FIR emission. Two new FIR emissions at 181.5 μm and 355.5 μm have been observed with a 12C16O2 laser optically pumping CD3OD. 相似文献

The behaviour of the cooperative emission from PbI2 and HgI2 at 80 K has been studied at high exciton density by means of a tunable high intensity dye laser pumping. From a comparative analysis of the observed M and S stimulated emission lines from PbI2 and HgI2 we find that they strongly depend in two different ways on the pumping photon energy. Then, it is also possible to conclude that exciton-exciton and exciton-electron inelastic scattering are responsible for stimulated emission in PbI2 and HgI2 respectively. 相似文献

Thirty-nine new submillimetre laser lines in CH2F2 and twelve in CD2Cl2 have been obtained in a Fabry-Perot FIR resonator by optically pumping with a CW12C18O2 laser. The wavelength range obtained for CH2F2 is 126m to 1091m and for CD2Cl2 212m to 774m. The wavelength measurements are accurate to within 5.10–3. The relative polarisations of the pump laser and the FIR laser output were also determined. Tentative assignments of the IR and FIR transitions were made using existing microwave data. 相似文献

Experimental data are presented for the energy extraction of a nanosecond pulse propagating with different energy flux densities in a grid-type double-discharge TEA-CO2 amplifier.
