We define Sahlqvist fixed point equations and relativized fixed point Boolean algebras with operators (relativized fixed point BAOs). We show that every Sahlqvist fixed point equation is preserved under completions of conjugated relativized fixed point BAOs. This extends the result of Givant and Venema (1999) to the setting of relativized fixed point BAOs.  相似文献

Let X be a Banach space. We say that X satisfies the fixed point property (weak fixed point property) if every non-expansive mapping defined from a convex closed bounded (convex weakly compact) subset of X into itself has a fixed point. We say that X satisfies the stable fixed point property (stable weak fixed point property) if the same is true for every equivalent norm which is close enough to the original one. Denote by P(X) the set formed by all equivalent norms with the topology of the uniform convergence on the unit ball of X. We prove that the subset of P(X) formed by the norms failing the fixed point property is dense in P(X) when X is a non-distortable space which fails the fixed point property. In particular, no renorming of ?1 can satisfy the stable fixed point property. Furthermore, we show some examples of distortable spaces failing the weak fixed point property, which can be renormed to satisfy the stable weak fixed point property. As a consequence we prove that every separable Banach space can be renormed to satisfy the stable weak fixed point property.  相似文献

In this paper, we first prove a generalized KKM theorem, and then use this generalized KKM theorem to establish the generalized equi-KKM theorem, common fixed point theorems for a family of multivalued maps, and the Kakutani-Fan-Glicksberg fixed point theorem. We also show that an existence theorem of the common fixed point theorem is equivalent to the Kakutani-Fan-Glicksberg fixed point theorem.  相似文献

The paper presents a method which allows to construct smooth finite nonsolvable group actions on spheres with prescribed fixed point data. The idea is to consider an action on a disk with the required fixed point data, and then to apply equivariant surgery to the equivariant double of the disk to remove the second copy of the fixed point data. In this paper, the method is applied to construct smooth group actions on spheres with exactly one fixed point, and more general actions with fixed point set diffeomorphic to any given closed stably parallelizable smooth manifold. As a powerful mechanism, fixed point theorems have many applications in mathematical and economic analysis. In this paper, the well-known Brouwer fixed point theorem and Kakutani fixed point theorem are generalized to a class of nonconvex sets and a globally convergent homotopy method is developed for computing fixed points on this class of nonconvex sets.  相似文献

We propose the split common fixed point problem that requires to find a common fixed point of a family of operators in one space whose image under a linear transformation is a common fixed point of another family of operators in the image space. We formulate and analyze a parallel algorithm for solving this split common fixed point problem for the class of directed operators and note how it unifies and generalizes previously discussed problems and algorithms.  相似文献

We define the infinite-dimensional simplex to be the closure of the convex hull of the standard basis vectors in R, and prove that this space has the fixed point property: any continuous function from the space into itself has a fixed point. Our proof is constructive, in the sense that it can be used to find an approximate fixed point; the proof relies on elementary analysis and Sperner's lemma. The fixed point theorem is shown to imply Schauder's fixed point theorem on infinite-dimensional compact convex subsets of normed spaces.  相似文献

The relationship between the fixed point property and forbidden retracts associated with a forgetful functor is formulated. Finite ordered sets of width at most four with fixed point free automorphisms are described. Linear time algorithms for deciding whether a finite ordered set of width two has the fixed point property and whether a finite ordered set of width at most three has a fixed point free automorphism are presented.  相似文献

In 1970, a qualitative fixed point technique useful to model the recursive specifications in denotational semantics was developed by means of the celebrated Kleene‘s fixed point theorem. Later on, in 1994 and 1995, quantitative counterparts of the aforesaid technique, but now based on generalized versions of Banach fixed point theorem, were obtained in such a way that the spirit of Kleene‘s technique was preserved. These new techniques are able to provide a measure of the information content degree and this fact has constituted an advantage with respect to the qualitative techniques. The main purpose of this paper is to discern the relationship between the aforementioned qualitative and quantitative fixed point techniques. In particular, we clarify what is the additional real contribution of the quantitative fixed point techniques with respect to the qualitative ones.  相似文献

Possibility of the reduction of a coincidence problem to a fixed point problem is investigated for one-valued and multivalued mappings of partially ordered sets. New fixed point theorems are proved. In Sections 2 and 3 of this paper we refine and generalize theorems of Nussbaum (see [42]) concerning the approximate fixed point index and the fixed point index class. In Section 4 we indicate how these results imply a wide variety of asymptotic fixed point theorems. In Section 5 we prove a generalization of the mod p theorem: if p is a prime number, f belongs to the fixed point index class and f satisfies certain natural hypothesis, then the fixed point index of f p is congruent mod p to the fixed point index of f. In Section 6 we give a counterexample to part of an asymptotic fixed point theorem of A. Tromba [55]. Sections 2, 3, and 4 comprise both new and expository material. We prove a criterion for an isometric action of a Lie group on a Riemannian manifold to be polar. From this criterion, it follows that an action with a fixed point is polar if and only if the slice representation at the fixed point is polar and the section is the tangent space of an embedded totally geodesic submanifold. We apply this to obtain a classification of polar actions with a fixed point on symmetric spaces.  相似文献

For the area preserving maps, the linearized tangent map determines the stability of the fixed point. When the trace of the tangent map is less than −2, the fixed point is inversion hyperbolic, thus the subsequent points of mapping alternate across the destabilized fixed point. That is to say, the fixed point undergoes periodic doubling bifurcation. While for the trace of the tangent map is larger than +2, the fixed point undergoes the hyperbolic bifurcation without reflection. Here, the processes of the hyperbolic bifurcation without reflection in the standard map have been examined in terms of the higher order symmetry in the momentum inversion. It is shown that the higher order symmetry lines approach asymptotically to the separatrix of the hyperbolic fixed point, and the existing symmetry lines cannot determine the structure of the periodic islands born after the hyperbolic bifurcation without reflection.  相似文献

Strengthened fixed point property for ordered sets is formulated. It is weaker than the strong fixed point property due to Duffus and Sauer and stronger than the product property meaning that A × Y has the fixed point property whenever A has the former and Y has the latter. In particular, doubly chain complete ordered sets with no infinite antichain have the strengthened fixed point property whenever they have the fixed point property, which yields a transparent proof of the well-known theorem saying that doubly chain complete ordered sets with no infinite antichain have the product property whenever they have the fixed point property. We iteratively generate a sequence of measurable mappings and study necessary conditions for its convergence to a random fixed point of random nonexpansive operator. A random fixed point theorem for random nonexpansive operator, relaxing the convexity condition on the underlying space, is also proved. As an application, we obtained random fixed point theorems for Caristi type random operators.  相似文献
