We propose the application of nitroanisole as a detector for middle infrared (mid-IR) interferometry or holography. The present experiment utilizes the liquid form of nitroanisole, which has a thermal lens effect, i.e. a temperature dependent refractive index. Since the nitroanisole absorbs IR radiation as heat, it is possible to estimate the IR intensity distribution on the nitroanisole from the diffraction pattern made by visible laser light that is transmitted through the nitroanisole. In this study, the time resolution and the diffraction efficiency of the nitroanisole was measured under various conditions. The experimental results show that the nitroanisole has a time resolution as high as that of a standard video camera, as well as a high diffraction efficiency and the spatial resolution equivalent to that of a conventional IR camera. Furthermore, we confirmed that the phase shift in mid-IR region can be estimated by analyzing the change in the visible diffraction pattern.  相似文献

A phase retrieval technique for enhanced wavefront reconstruction using random phase modulation and a phase diffuser is proposed. The speckle field generated is sampled at multiple axially displaced planes and the speckle patterns are used in an iterative algorithm based on the optical wave propagation in free space. The presentation of this technique is carried out using two setups. In the first setup, a diffuser plate is placed at the image plane of a metallic test object. The benefit of randomizing the phase of the object wave is the enhanced intensity recording due to high dynamic range of the diffusely scattered beam. The use of demagnification optics will also allow the investigations of relatively large objects. In the second setup, a transparent object is illuminated using a wavefront with random phase and constant amplitude by positioning the phase diffuser close to the object. The benefit of phase-only modulation is the increased resolution of the phase structures of the transparent test objects.  相似文献

We propose the real time optical reconstruction of a three-dimensional (3D) object from a digitally recorded hologram. Phase distribution of the recorded hologram is numerically calculated by 1-dimensional Continuous Wavelet Transform (1D-CWT) for digital reconstruction with phase only information. Also, the phase distribution of 1D-CWT transferred to the spatial light modulator (SLM) is used to obtain optically reconstructed image. It is observed that an efficient real-time analysis can be achieved, if phase of 1D-CWT is used. In the same time, optically reconstructed 3D objects obtained by only phase information are about three times brighter than bleached hologram intensity's. So the minimum power loss can be obtained. Off-axis holograms recorded with a CCD camera are numerically reconstructed in amplitude by calculating through the Fresnel–Kirchhoff integral. A phase-shifting Mach–Zehnder interferometer is used for recording four-quadrature phase-shifted off-axis holograms. The basic principle of this technique and its experimental verification are described. We show that the application of this algorithm allows for the suppression of the zero order of diffraction and of the twin image and that the contrast of the reconstructed images can be further enhanced by digital compensation of the aberrations introduced by the holographic recording system  相似文献

The phase reconstruction in a digital in-line holographic microscopy is compared using two numerical reconstruction methods. The first method uses one Fourier transform and second one uses three Fourier transforms. An adaptive frequency domain equalizer (A-FDE) in quadrature phase shift keying-coherent optical-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (QPSK-CO-OFDM) system is proposed in this paper. A-FDE uses steepest descent method to search the optimal equalization parameters. And through applying the adaptive control factor (ACF) to monitor the state of A-FDE, the interference from phase noise (PN) and chromatic dispersion (CD) can be mitigated. The numerical simulation shows that the performance of A-FDE has a remarkable improvement on combating PN and CD comparing with the conventional decision-directed equalizer (DDE). And the A-FDE can achieve the forward-error-correction (FEC) threshold in noisier scenario. Furthermore, because the calculation of ACF only bases on valid data instead of pilot symbols (PSs), A-FDE has low PS overhead merit.  相似文献

Quantitative phase imaging by itself allows for direct surface imaging of the transparent homogeneous sample, but it is very difficult or impossible for the inhomogeneous sample by itself due to the surface morphology and subsurface information are coupled. We hereby propose a simple method which obtains quantitative phase data and the physical thickness of sample by dual-medium quantitative phase measurement (DMQ) to extract subsurface sample information without the need of any exogenous dyes and any scan process. By using simulation technology, the feasibility of this method is demonstrated with subsurface imaging of a two-sphere model and a simulated monocyte.  相似文献

We propose to implement a modal wavefront sensor (MWS) using a multiplexed phase computer-generated hologram (MPCGH). Based on general orthogonal aberration modes, the theoretical treatments of the MWS employing a MPCGH are presented with scalar diffraction approximations and Fourier analysis. Under the small aberration approximations, we give the analytical formula for characterizing the relationship between the sensor signal and the amplitude of the aberration mode. We design several MPCGHs with an effective method of modified off-axis reference beam holograms superposition, and code some common orthogonal Zernike aberration modes into the MPCGH. The numerical simulation is carried out to investigate the performance of MWS to detect particular aberration mode(s). The results exhibit the expected responses of the corresponding symmetric spot pair, and indicate that the wavefront distorted by a special Zernike aberration mode, after modulated by the MPCGH, can be transformed into beams with an intensity-normalized differential signal, which can reflect the change trend of the aberration coefficients in the test wavefront. The experimental demonstration with designed MPCGHs in conjunction with two phase-only spatial light modulators was carried out to test the performance of the MWS.  相似文献

We proposed a method to solve the problem of extracting meaningful phase information for a single-shot interference pattern taken for an axially tilted fibre sample. Conventionally such interference patterns can be not evaluated with appropriate accuracy. Here, such an interference pattern is considered to be a special hologram since it contains information about light propagated through a laterally fixed sample located at different axial planes. Thus, part of the test object in such a hologram is in focus and the other parts are out of focus. The proposed method can be considered as two complementary steps. In the first step the complex amplitude across the hologram plane is recovered using an adaptive spatial carrier frequency method. This is followed by the second step where the complex amplitude is numerically propagated within a given volume. Thus, planes where the test object is in focus are defined. Consequently, the phase distributions corresponding to all of these planes are together stitched. Thus a complete focus phase map for the fiber sample under test is obtained. From the obtained phase map the two dimensions refractive and the two dimensions birefringence of isotactic polypropylene fibre were calculated.  相似文献

We measured the half-wave voltage Vπ of LiNbO3 phase modulators in the broadband frequency range by analyzing the gain of phase modulation interference demodulation optical link. The self-mixing interference technique is a compact sensing technique that has widely used for measuring vibrations. For purpose of increasing the accuracy of the vibration measurement system, a new phase modulation technique based on the self-mixing interferometer is presented. The phase modulation is obtained by varying the length of external cavity periodically. The vibration information of the external target is determined by the Fourier analysis method. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulations of phase modulation method used as high sensitive self-mixing vibrometry based on vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser are given in this paper.  相似文献

 高功率激光系统中一般利用相位调制器对单纵模激光进行频谱展宽以避免受激布里渊散射,当后继系统中的滤波器存在中心波长偏差时,则会导致相位调制产生的边带失衡,使光信号出现较为严重的高频起伏。基于前端系统模拟平台对此问题进行了数值模拟研究,结果表明滤波后的高频起伏随滤波器带宽变窄和中心波长偏差增大而加剧。分析表明0.2 nm带宽的滤波器出现0.05 nm左右的波长偏差时,将引起24.3%左右的顶部起伏。实验中根据分析将滤波器带宽从0.2 nm加大到0.4 nm,成功将脉冲顶部起伏从25.2%减小到了4.4%,对前端系统的研制起到了很好的指导作用。  相似文献

We propose a novel dispersion-based optical beamforming network scheme employing phase modulation and direct detection. Optical phase modulators have the advantages of simple-structure, low loss and absence of bias. Dispersion-induced phase-to-intensity conversion is utilized to facilitate direct detection. A structure of wideband dispersive device (WDD) cascaded with periodic dispersive device (PDD) is introduced to enhance the system flexibility, so that the delay adjustability and RF response can be properly designed respectively by choosing appropriate dispersions of the WDD and PDD. A concept-proof system with a wideband chirped fiber grating (CFG) as the WDD and two multiband CFGs (MCFG1 and MCFG2) as the PDD separately is built to demonstrate the basic idea. The delay tuning range is 0-1.8 ns with increment of 164.2 ps. The passband center is 30 GHz for MCFG1 and 20 GHz for MCFG2, and the fractional bandwidth is 51.8%. The shot-noise-limited spurious-free dynamic range is also analyzed and measured to be 105.7 dB ⋅ Hz2/3 when the average photocurrent is 2.7 mA.  相似文献

We present a procedure to obtain the physical parameters responsible of twisted nematic liquid crystal (LC) cells optical modulation. The novelty of our approach is based on the use of spectroscopic measurements of the light transmitted by the system polarizer-LC cell-analyzer, combined with a previously proposed simple physical model of the LC twist and tilt distribution along cell. The procedure involves two steps: the first one yields off-state parameters like the LC director orientation, the twist angle, and the optical path difference (cell gap); the second step yields the effective retardances of the central and edge LC layers. The use of a spectroscopic method provides a full characterization of the LC cell as a function of both the voltage and the wavelength. The complete procedure leads to a very accurate prediction of the transmitted light broadband spectrum, as well as the complex (amplitude and phase) modulation for any wavelength within the calibration range.  相似文献

分析了菲涅耳非相干相关全息(Fresnel incoherent correlation holography,FINCH)系统中纯相位空间光调制器(spatial light modulator,SLM)加载螺旋相位掩模时的点扩散函数.以氙灯为照明光源搭建了FINCH系统,电荷耦合器记录的点源全息图与点扩散函数模拟结果一致.采用该系统分别在SLM上加载双透镜掩模和螺旋相位调制双透镜掩模两种情况下对分辨率板和非染色洋葱细胞成像,给出了成像对比结果.结果表明:采用螺旋相位调制的FINCH系统可以在几乎不牺牲分辨率的情况下提高图像的边缘对比度;同样,对相位物体也可以实现图像的边缘提取和识别.该方法在实时监测活细胞的分裂、形变等方面具有重要应用前景.  相似文献

With the technique of phase modulation optical heterodyne(PMOH), we detected the beat-frequency signal of the reflected wave from a F-P cavity. The frequency of the beat signal was three times of that of the modulation electric field, when the 3rd harmonic of the modulation electric field was used as the phase reference signal. The line shapes of the signal match those of the theoretical calculations, and the dispersion signal has good frequency-discrimination characteristic.  相似文献

We propose a method for the measurement of periodic optical waveforms based on the use of an electrooptic phase modulator placed in an optical Fabry-Perot or ring resonator. Significant broadening of the modulation spectrum extends the recently developed method of periodic modulation for pulse characterization into femtosecond scales. We numerically demonstrate the characterization of a 300-fs optical pulse. We also present a technique based on the temporal fractional Talbot effect for restoration of the pulse phase profile. After fast linear processing, subpicosecond pulses will be observed on the screen of a real-time oscilloscope. This complete characterization of optical pulses is entirely linear and therefore highly sensitive and simple in implementation.  相似文献

We conducted a numerical calculation for the point spread function and the variation of the read-out signal in optical disc systems using several apodizing filters, taking into account a spherical aberration and the variation in the bump shape. Based on calculations using the scalar diffraction theory, we are able to determine the best bump size and shape giving the maximum read-out signal for each incident beam modulated by an apodizing filter. This work facilitates the fabrication of high density optical disc systems with a spherical aberration and can then be applied to a real optical disc system like a commercial digital video disc (DVD) system.  相似文献
