In an -group M with an appropriate operator set it is shown that the -value set (M) can be embedded in the value set (M). This embedding is an isomorphism if and only if each convex -subgroup is an -subgroup. If (M) has a.c.c. and M is either representable or finitely valued, then the two value sets are identical. More generally, these results hold for two related operator sets 1 and 2 and the corresponding -value sets and . If R is a unital -ring, then each unital -module over R is an f-module and has exactly when R is an f-ring in which 1 is a strong order unit.  相似文献

We prove a local limit theorem (LLT) on Cramer-type large deviations for sums S V = t V ( t ), where t , t Z , 1, is a Markov Gaussian random field, V Z , and is a bounded Borel function. We get an estimate from below for the variance of S V and construct two classes of functions , for which the LLT of large deviations holds.  相似文献

All finite fields q (q 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 13, 25, 121) contain a primitive element for which + 1/ is also primitive. All fields of square order q 2 (q 3, 5) contain an element of order q + 1 for which + 1/ is a primitive element of the subfield q. These are unconditional versions of general asymptotic results.  相似文献

The cohomology H* (G/,) of the de Rham complex *(G/) of a compact solvmanifold G/ with deformed differential d = d + , where is a closed 1 -form, is studied. Such cohomologies naturally arise in Morse-Novikov theory. It is shown that, for any completely solvable Lie group G containing a cocompact lattice G, the cohomology H*(G/, ) is isomorphic to the cohomology H*( ) of the tangent Lie algebra of the group G with coefficients in the one-dimensional representation : defined by () = (). Moreover, the cohomology H *(G/,) is nontrivial if and only if -[] belongs to a finite subset of H 1(G/,) defined in terms of the Lie algebra .Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, vol. 77, no. 1, 2005, pp. 67–79.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2005 by D. A relation between Chung's and Strassen's laws of the iterated logarithm   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Summary Let W(t) be a standard Wiener process and let f(x) be a function from the compact class in Strassen's law of the iterated logarithm. We investigate the lim inf behavior of the variable sup ¦W(xT)(2T loglog T)–1/2f(x)¦, 0x1 suitably normalized as T.This extends Chung's result valid for f(x)0, stating that lim inf.[ sup ¦(2T loglogT)–1/2 W(xT)¦(loglog T)–1]=/4 a.s. LetR be a commutative ring with 1 andM anR-module. If:M R MR is anR-module homomorphism satisfying(mm)=(mm) and(mm)m=m(mm), the additive abelian groupRM becomes a commutative ring, if multiplication is defined by (r,m)(r,m)=(rr+(mm),rm+rm). This ring is called the semitrivial extension ofR byM and and it is denoted byR M. This generalizes the notion of a trivial extension and leads to a more interesting variety of examples. The purpose of this paper is to studyR M; in particular, we are interested in some homological properties ofR M as that of being Cohen-Macaulay, Gorenstein or regular. A sample result: Let (R,m) be a local Noetherian ring,M a finitely generatedR-module and Im() m. ThenR M is Gorenstein if and only if eitherRM is Gorenstein orR is Gorenstein,M is a maximal Cohen-Macaulay module andMM *, where the isomorphism is given by the adjoint of.  相似文献

We prove that for an arbitrary endomorphism of a ring R the group K1(R[t]) splits into the direct sum of K1(R) and Ñil (r;). Moreover, for any such R and Ñil (R; ) is isomorphic to Ñil (R ; ) for some ring R with : R R – an isomorphism.  相似文献

Let < SL n ( ) be a subgroup of finite index, where n 5. Suppose acts continuously on a manifold M, where 1(M) = n , preserving a measure that is positive on open sets. Further assume that the induced action on H 1(M) is non-trivial. We show there exists a finite index subgroup < and a equivariant continuous map : M n that induces an isomorphism on fundamental group. We prove more general results providing continuous quotients in cases where 1(M) surjects onto a finitely generated torsion free nilpotent group. We also give some new examples of manifolds with actions.

Summary LetC be the symmetric cusp {(x, y)2:–x yx ,x0} where >1. In this paper we decide whether or not reflecting Brownian motion inC has a semimartingale representation. Here the reflecting Brownian motion has directions of reflection that make constant angles with the unit inward normals to the boundary. Our results carry through for a wide class of asymmetric cusps too.  相似文献

If (P, L) is a projective plane and is a triangle presentation compatible with a point-line correspondence :P L, then gives rise to a group and a thick building of typeà 2 on the vertices of which acts simply transitively. We find all triangle presentations (up to natural equivalence) compatible with some point-line correspondence :P L, when (P, L) is the projective plane of orderq=2 orq=3. For some, but not all, of these , is isomorphic to the building associated withG=PGL(3,K) whereK is a local field with discrete valuation and residual field of orderq. We identify the for which this is the case, and in these cases, find embeddings of intoG. We also describe the arithmetic nature of these groups.  相似文献

Summary Let (V, K, q) be aq-regular metric vector space over a commutative field with quadratic formq and letA(V, K, q) be the corresponding affine-metric space. A metric collineation ofA(V, K, q) is a product of a translation and a semilinear bijection ( 1, 2) (where 2 AutK) such that, for a K\{0}, we haveq 1 = 2 q. For linesA + KB, A + KC whereA, B, C V\{X Vq(X) = 0} we define an angle-measure < q (A +KB, A +KC) f(B, C)2 q(B)–1 q(C)–1 wheref is the bilinear form corresponding toq. For a point tripleA, B, C we define < q ABC < q (K(A – B),K(C – B)) whenever the right-hand side is defined. Now assume |K| > 5. In order to get minimal conditions for metric collineations we prove: If 0, 4 is an occurring angle-measure and if is a permutation of the point set such that exactly the point triples with measure are mapped to point triples with measure 0, 4, then is already a metric collineation.  相似文献

On a bounded C 2-domain we consider the singular boundary-value problem 1/2u=f(u) in D, u D =, where d3, f:(0,)(0,) is a locally Hölder continuous function such that f(u) as u0 at the rate u , for some (0,1), and is a non-negative continuous function satisfying certain growth assumptions. We show existence of solutions bounded below by a positive harmonic function, which are smooth in D and continuous in . Such solutions are shown to satisfy a boundary Harnack principle.  相似文献

One investigates the minimality of derivative chains, constructed from the root vectors of polynomial pencils of operators, acting in a Hilbert space. One investigates in detail the quadratic pencil of operators. In particular, for L()=L0+L1+2L2 with bounded operators L00, L20 and Re L10, one shows the minimality in the space173-02 of the system {xk, kekxk}, where xk are eigenvectors of L(), corresponding to the characteristic numbers kin the deleted neighborhoods of which one has the representation L–1()=(–k)–1RK+WK() with one-dimensional operators Rk and operator-valued functions WK(), k=1, 2, ..., analytic for =k.Translated from Ukrainskii Matematicheskii Zhurnal, Vol. 42, No. 2, pp. 195–205, February, 1990.  相似文献
