In the present paper, the coefficient estimates are found for the class S∗−1(α) consisting of inverses of functions in the class of univalent starlike functions of order α in . These estimates extend the work of Krzyz, Libera and Zlotkiewicz [J.G. Krzyz, R.J. Libera, E. Zlotkiewicz, Coefficients of inverse of regular starlike functions, Ann. Univ. Mariae Curie-Sklodowska Sect. A 33 (10) (1979) 103-109] who found sharp estimates on only first two coefficients for the functions in the class S∗−1(α). The coefficient estimates are also found for the class Σ∗−1(α), consisting of inverses of functions in the class Σ∗(α) of univalent starlike functions of order α in . The open problem of finding sharp coefficient estimates for functions in the class Σ∗(α) stands completely settled in the present work by our method developed here. 相似文献

We investigate a generalized form of a partial differential equation governing the diffusion of heavy pollutants into the atmosphere. In earlier treatments of the equation, the vertical component of turbulent exchange coefficient was assumed to be linear. Our generalization takes into account the nonlinear case of this component. Furthermore, two general identities involving the confluent hypergeometric function of the second kind are derived in the course of solving the given PDE. 相似文献

Asymptotic expansions of certain finite and infinite integrals involving products of two Bessel functions of the first kind are obtained by using the generalized hypergeometric and Meijer functions. The Bessel functions involved are of arbitrary (generally different) orders, but of the same argument containing a parameter which tends to infinity. These types of integrals arise in various contexts, including wave scattering and crystallography, and are of general mathematical interest being related to the Riemann—Liouville and Hankel integrals. The results complete the asymptotic expansions derived previously by two different methods — a straightforward approach and the Mellin-transform technique. These asymptotic expansions supply practical algorithms for computing the integrals. The leading terms explicitly provide valuable analytical insight into the high-frequency behavior of the solutions to the wave-scattering problems. 相似文献

We consider functions f that are univalent in a plane angular domain of angle απ, 0 < α ≤ 2. It is proved that there exists a natural number k depending only on α such that the kth derivatives f (k) of these functions cannot be univalent in this angle. We find the least of the possible values of for k. As a consequence, we obtain an answer to the question posed by Kir’yatskii: if f is univalent in the half-plane, then its fourth derivative cannot be univalent in this half-plane. 相似文献

We obtain an integral formula for a solution to a general algebraic equation. In this formula the integrand is an elementary function and integration is carried out over an interval. The advantage of this formula over the well-known Mellin formula is that the integral has a broader convergence domain.
