We show that the electronic states in a one-dimensional (1D) Anderson model of diagonal disorder with long-range correlation proposed by de Moura and Lyra exhibit localization-delocalization phase transition in varying the energy of electrons. Using transfer matrix method, we calculate the average resistivity and investigate how it changes with the size of the system N. For given value of α (> 2) we find critical energies Ec1 and Ec2 such that the resistivity decreases with N as a power law ∝ N - γ for electron energies within the range of [E c1, E c2], and exponentially grows with N outside this range. Such behaviors persist in approaching the transition points and the exponent γ is in the range from 0.92 to 0.96. The origin of the delocalization in this 1D model is discussed. The Kondo lattice model has been analyzed in the presence of a random inter-site interaction among localized spins with non zero mean J0 and standard deviation J. Following the same framework previously introduced by us, the problem is formulated in the path integral formalism where the spin operators are expressed as bilinear combinations of Grassmann fields. The static approximation and the replica symmetry ansatz have allowed us to solve the problem at a mean field level. The resulting phase diagram displays several phase transitions among a ferromagnetically ordered region,a spin glass one, a mixed phase and a Kondo state depending on J0, J and its relation with the Kondo interaction coupling JK. These results could be used to address part of the experimental data for the CeNi 1 - x Cu x compound, when x ⩽ 0.8. Received 24 June 2002 Published online 31 December 2002  相似文献

An approach to the Ginzburg-Landau problem of superconducting polygons is developed, based on the exact fulfillment of superconducting boundary conditions along the boundary of the sample. To this end an analytical gauge transformation for the vector potential A is found which gives A n = 0 for the normal component along the boundary line of an arbitrary regular polygon. The use of the new gauge reduces the Ginzburg-Landau problem of superconducting polygons in external magnetic fields to an eigenvalue problem in a basis set of functions obeying Neumann boundary conditions. The advantages of this approach, especially for low magnetic fields, are illustrated and novel vortex patterns are obtained which can be probed experimentally. An investigation to deepen the connection between the family of nonlinear Schr?dinger equations and the one of Korteweg-de Vries equations is carried out within the context of the Madelung's fluid picture. In particular, under suitable hypothesis for the current velocity, it is proven that the cubic nonlinear Schr?dinger equation, whose solution is a complex wave function, can be put in correspondence with the standard Korteweg-de Vries equation, is such a way that the soliton solutions of the latter are the squared modulus of the envelope soliton solution of the former. Under suitable physical hypothesis for the current velocity, this correspondence allows us to find envelope soliton solutions of the cubic nonlinear Schr?dinger equation, starting from the soliton solutions of the associated Korteweg-de Vries equation. In particular, in the case of constant current velocities, the solitary waves have the amplitude independent of the envelope velocity (which coincides with the constant current velocity). They are bright or dark envelope solitons and have a phase linearly depending both on space and on time coordinates. In the case of an arbitrarily large stationary-profile perturbation of the current velocity, envelope solitons are grey or dark and they relate the velocity u0 with the amplitude; in fact, they exist for a limited range of velocities and have a phase nonlinearly depending on the combined variable x-u0 s (s being a time-like variable). This novel method in solving the nonlinear Schr?dinger equation starting from the Korteweg-de Vries equation give new insights and represents an alternative key of reading of the dark/grey envelope solitons based on the fluid language. Moreover, a comparison between the solutions found in the present paper and the ones already known in literature is also presented. Laser spectroscopy measurements have been carried out on the very neutron-rich tin isotopes with the COMPLIS experimental setup. Using the 5s 25p 23 P 0 → 5s 25p6s 3 P 1 optical transition, hyperfine spectra of 126-132Sn and 125m, 127m, 129m-131mSn where recorded for the first time. The variation of the mean-square charge radius ( δ〈r 2〉) between these nuclei and nuclear moments of the isomers and the odd isotopes were thus measured. An odd-even staggering which inverts at A = 130 is clearly observed. This indicates a small appearance of a plateau on the δ〈r 2〉 which has to be confirmed by measuring the isotope shift beyond A = 132. The anisotropy of MgB2 is still under debate: its value, strongly dependent on the kind of sample and on the measuring method, ranges between 1.2 and 13. In this work we present our results on MgB2 c-oriented superconducting thin film. To evaluate the anisotropy, we followed two different approaches. Firstly, magnetoresistivity was measured as a function of temperature at selected magnetic fields applied both parallel and perpendicular to the c-axis; secondly, we measured magnetoresistivity at selected temperatures and magnetic fields, varying the angle θ between the magnetic field and the c-axis. The anisotropy estimated from the ratio between the upper critical fields parallel and perpendicular to the c-axis and the one obtained in the framework of the scaling approach within the anisotropic Ginzburg-Landau theory are different but show a similar trend in the temperature dependence. Some differences in the upper critical field and in its anisotropy of our film with respect to single crystals are emphasized: some of these aspects can be accounted for by an analysis of upper critical fields within a two-band model in presence of disorder and/or crystallographic strain. The Nambu spinor Green's function approach is applied to calculating the density of states (DOS) and superconducting order parameter in normal-metal/insulator/ferromagnet/superconductor (NM/I/FM/SC) junctions. It is found that the s-wave superconductivity and ferromagnetism can coexist near the FM/SC interface, which is induced by proximity effect. On the SC side, the spin-dependent DOS appears both within and without the energy gap. On the FM side, the superconducting order parameter displays a damped oscillation and the DOS exhibits some superconducting behavior. The calculated result for the DOS in FM for “0 state” and “π state” can reproduce recent tunneling spectra in Al/Al2O3/PdNi/Nb tunnel junctions. A continuous liquid flow in a vacuum (a liquid beam) of an aqueous solution of adenine salt containing hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide was irradiated with an intense pulsed IR laser at 3 μm, which is resonant to a vibrational mode related to the OH stretch vibration of H2O. Neutral species isolated into the vacuum were ionized by a pulsed UV laser at 270 nm, and the product ions were mass-analyzed by a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. It is found that AH 2 2 + . 2Cl- and [A-iH] i - . iNa+ (i = 1-3) are isolated in the vacuum from the aqueous acidic and alkaline solutions, respectively, under irradiation of the IR laser, and undergo four-photon ionization involving decomposition and proton transfer of the intermediate species under irradiation of the UV laser. A new fabrication process for three-terminal superconducting devices consisting of two Josephson junctions in a stacked configuration is reported. The process is based on the deposition of the whole Nb/AlxOy/Nb-Al/AlxOy/Nb multilayer on a Si crystalline wafer without any vacuum breaking. Lift-off techniques, anodization processes and a SiO film deposition have been adopted for patterning and insulating the two tunnel stacked junctions. Devices have been characterized in terms of current-voltage (I-V) curves and Josephson critical current vs. the externally applied magnetic field. They show high quality factors (V m values up to 65 mV at 4.2 K), and good current uniformity. Received 5 June 2001  相似文献

Excited states of 99Ag were populated via the 50Cr + 58Ni (261 MeV) reaction using the NORDBALL detector array equipped with charged-particle and neutron detector systems for reaction channel separation. On the basis of the measured γγ-coincidence relations and angular distribution ratios a significantly extended level scheme has been constructed up to E x ∼ 7.8 MeV and I = 35/2. The experimental results were described within the framework of the shell model. Candidates for states fully aligned in the πg 9/2 -3ν(d 5/2, g 7/2)2 valence configuration space were found at 4109 and 6265 keV. A model of herding is introduced which is exceptionally simple, incorporating only two phenomena, growth and addition. At each time step either (i) with probability p the system grows through the introduction of a new agent or (ii) with probability q = 1 - p a free agent already in the system is added at random to a group of size k with rate Ak. Two versions of the model, A k = k and A k = 1, are solved and in both versions we find two different types of behaviour. When p > 1/2 all the moments of the distribution of group sizes are linear in time for large time and the group distribution is power-law. When p < 1/2 the system runs out of free agents in a finite time. Received 12 February 2002 Published online 9 July 2002  相似文献

In treating the relativistic 3-quark problem, a dressed-quark propagator parameterization is used which is compatible with recent lattice data and pion observables. Furthermore 2-quark correlations are modeled as a series of quark loops in the scalar and axialvector channel. The resulting reduced Faddeev equations are solved for nucleon and delta. Nucleon electromagnetic form factors are calculated in a fully covariant and gauge-invariant scheme. Whereas the proton electric form factor G E and the nucleon magnetic moments are described correctly, the neutron electric form factor and the ratio G E/G M for the proton appear to be quenched. The influence of vector mesons on the form factors is investigated which amounts to a 25% modification of the electromagnetic proton radii within this framework. We have extended the balance equations to account for conduction-valence interband impact ionization (II) process induced by an intense terahertz (THz) electromagnetic irradiation in semiconductors, and applied them to study the II effect on electron transport and electron-hole pair generation-recombination rate in THz-driven InAs/AlSb heterojunctions (HJ). As many as needed multiphoton channels are self-consistently taken into account for yielding a given accuracy. The time evolution of transport state including THz-radiation-induced II process are monitored in details by an extensive time-dependent analysis. Two different physical stages, the quasi-steady state and the complete steady-state, are clearly identified from the present calculations. Intersubband electron transfer rate and net electron-hole generation rate are derived as functions of the THz radiation strength E ac for various radiation frequencies from f ac = 0.42 to 6 THz at lattice temperatures T = 6 K. It's indicated that the THz radiation with a larger E ac or a lower f ac, has a stronger effect on electron transport and II process. Qualitative agreement is obtained between the calculated electron-hole generation rate and the available experimental data for InAs/AlSb HJ's at T = 6 K. The decay out of the πh 11/2νh 11/2 band to the known low-energy levels in 132La was studied using the reaction 100Mo + 36S at 160 MeV beam energy. The low-energy level scheme has been further developed and unambiguous spin and parity values have been assigned to the levels connecting the band to the 6- isomeric state. According to the new level scheme the spins in the πh 11/2νh 11/2 band are shifted up by one unit compared to the earlier tentative experimental values. The obtained new spins prove the existence of signature inversion in 132La and give further support to the spin assignments made for the πh 11/2νh 11/2 bands in the neighbouring odd-odd La isotopes from level energy systematics. The dielectric permittivity ε - i of SrTi 18O 3 (STO18) is studied under a dc electric field E as a function of the temperature, T. In ε vs. T, a double-peak is found when 0 < E < 30 KV/m. While the peak at high-T is attributed to the smeared ferroelectric phase transition, the low-T one is induced by domain wall motion. The transverse Ising model including an external homogeneous and quenched random-fields is successfully used to describe both the smeared phase transition and the domain wall response in the low-T domain state. The calculations are in good agreement with the experimental results. Received 4 January 2002 / Received in final form 25 March 2002 Published online 19 July 2002  相似文献

We investigate the effects of a magnetic field with low to intermediate strength on several spectroscopic properties of the sodium atom. A model potential is used to describe the core of sodium, reducing the study of the system to an effective one-particle problem. All states with principal quantum numbers n = 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are studied and analysed. A grid of twenty values for the field strength in the complete regime B = 0 - 0.02 a.u. is employed. Ionisation energies, transition wavelengths and their dipole oscillator strengths are presented. Received 5 November 2002 Published online 4 February 2003  相似文献

The magnetic properties of the cyclic compound [Fe6(bicine)6] LiClO4 . 2MeOH are reported. The cluster Fe6(bicine)6 forms an antiferromagnetically coupled ring structure of Fe III ions. The magnetic susceptibility is measured between 2 and 300 K and yields the exchange coupling of J/k B = - 27.5±0.5 K. The field dependence of the magnetic moment is studied at 3 and 6 K in magnetic fields up to 5 T. The zero-field splitting of the first excited spin states with S = 2 and 3 are determined by ESR at 94 GHz. The intra-molecular interactions of the Fe III ions are analyzed and the on-site anisotropy of the Fe III due to the ligand-configuration is determined to d /k B = - 0.633±0.008K. Separating multidimensional problems into that of a relevant system which is coupled to a bath of harmonic oscillators is a common concept in condensed phase theory. Focusing on the specific problem of intramolecular proton transfer in an isolated tropolone derivative, we consider the reactive proton moving in the plane of the molecule as the system and the remaining substrate normal modes as the bath. An all-Cartesian system-plus-substrate Hamiltonian is constructed employing density functional theory. It is then used to determine the temperature-dependent effective reduced reaction Hamiltonian and the state-to-state dissipation rates induced via the system-substrate coupling up to the bi-quadratic order. The important substrate modes for the T1-relaxation and the pure T2-dephasing rates, which are either intra- or inter-well in nature, are identified numerically and analyzed physically with molecular details. A soft bead (radius R b) is pressed with a force F against a hydrophobic glass plate through a water drop (“wet” JKR set-up). We observe with a fast camera the growth of the contact zone bridging the rubber bead to the glass. Depending on the approach velocity V, two regimes are observed : i) at large V a liquid film is squeezed at the interface and dewets by nucleation and growth of a dry contact; ii) at low velocities, the bead remains nearly spherical. As it comes into contact, the rubber bead spreads on the glass with a characteristic time (in the range of one millisecond) τ ≈ ηR b 2/F, where η is the liquid viscosity. The laws of spreading are interpreted by a balance of global mechanical and viscous forces.
